I am still processing all the BTS today. Basically cried all morning streaming the concert, their first tour show in four years. And then spent the rest of the morning watching fan-cams while waiting for Hot Ones to drop the new episode, howling through those 25 minutes because of all the chaos, the trademark BTS chaos. Honestly, I have no coherent thoughts, I may need some time to sort it all out, if that’s even possible.

Every time I think it might be possible, something like this comes across my feed and I’m a mess again. Livestreams are great… but like… we’d be nothing without fan-cams. Tae’s body-rolls here are devastating.

Even more powerful, for ARMY at least, than the body-rolls and the way the rain somehow made it that much sexier, is how obvious it was that they were having the time of their lives – with the fans and with each other. Here’s another one of Tae, hopped up on adrenaline and just pure desire to entertain.

There are just too many distractions, of the horny kind and also just straight up professional appreciation. As we have seen over the years, they are the best of the best on so many levels across their team in terms of production which includes all the staff members but when it comes to the artists themselves, their stage awareness and coordination is breathtaking. There were drones flying around while they were performing, which is impressive in and of itself considering how close to the stage they were – close enough for Jung Kook to casually beckon towards one, and the drone operator in a control room somewhere immediately responding to his request, and then he catches it and starts filming.

That’s the fan-cam angle of what happened. Now here’s what was on broadcast.

Seriously, it’s not just the sophistication of their technology, it’s how they have integrated it. Their capabilities are astounding. But, at the same time, RM, Jin, Suga, j-hope, Jimin, V, and JK are also professional idiots, LOL, which is the version of themselves that we saw on Hot Ones today. Credit to the producer who knew to seat Hobi and Jin together, they must be ARMY. Because whenever the two of them are together for any situation that is even slightly intimidating, the result is always ridiculous – and by ridiculous I mean funny as f-ck. Every 10 seconds of this video is basically a meme, from Jin’s screaming to all of them sweating, to these babies being placated by ice cream, to “your body crying”, hahahaha forever. See? I told you, I’m BTS-delirious, I make no sense. 

What else happened today…

Not much, actually, and one of the reasons, at least in Hollywood, might be that people are getting ready for the Influencer Bowl, aka Coachella. Justin Bieber’s been heard at soundcheck, and it sounds like his set might be a retrospective, because he’s going back into his early catalogue, and also some of his early covers. Plus… what many consider to be his best song, “Sorry”.

I’m not going to spoil the Abbott Elementary storyline but if you want to know more, Quinta Brunson gave an interview to The Hollywood Reporter and gets into detail from a creator/writer’s perspective and also as a showrunner because she has to work around holding locations and scheduling.

The show is approaching its 100^th episode and network contracts are typically 5-7 so if the cast hasn’t renegotiated yet, most of them will be doing it soon. ABC better back that Brinks truck up, this show has Modern Family/Big Bang Theory/Friends longevity.

I will NOT shame Lainey for getting into Hacks late, I’m just glad she’s here. As the final season approaches, I’ve noticed some of the press is split into pairs with Hannah/Jean and Paul/Meg. It’s a smart move because having four people in every interview can really break up the flow, and the pairings match the storylines and chemistry. Plus you get so many great clips this way, like Hannah Eindbinder giving Jean Smart a hard time for saying she thinks Harry Styles is a better performer than The Beatles (there’s a lot of context here to Jean’s point!).

Here’s Russell Crowe talking about Meg Ryan and this is when we take a minute to review the ancient texts and remember the scandal that was Proof of Life. Their entanglement, followed by Meg’s work in In the Cut (an erotic thriller co-starring Mark Ruffalo, Kevin Bacon and Jennifer Jason-Leigh, directed by Jane Campion – ahead of its time!) caused Meg’s career to spiral. Russell went on to have a great career (and he was never sh-tty about Meg) and even considering the early-2000s of it all, I have no idea why people were affronted on Dennis Quaid’s behalf when he very obviously cheated on her all the time.

The Beef season two premiere was yesterday and this shot of the cast and crew is sending me…

Seoyeong Jang is wearing red too but since she’s positioned behind Oscar Isaac, you can’t really see, so it’s really Oscar and Carey Mulligan who are popping in the photo, in their couples outfit, while everyone else is in muted business shades. And when you watch the show, you’ll appreciate that that fits with their characters and the story.

Beef S2 features an entirely different cast from the first season, with a new argument that triggers a series of events and consequences. The argument is between Oscar and Carey’s characters, a married couple who manage a country club. The argument is witnessed by two staff members who are also a couple, and younger, played by Charles Melton and Cailee Spaeny. So the beef is a generational and class divide, taking place in a setting populated by privileged assholes.

I screened the first two episodes last weekend and the tension that made season one so good is definitely there – it is uncomfortable, cutting, and cruel… but it’s also savagely funny in subtle ways. We can talk about it some more after the season drops on Netflix next week though for now, pay attention in particular to what Carey is wearing when she’s about to meet Youn Yuh-jung in the first episode, and what happens afterwards. Especially considering that Carey was just made a CBE (Commander of the British Empire) last week.

Not sure how the rest of the season will unfold since I’ve only watched two episodes but already I can tell you that showrunner Lee Sung-jin (Sunny) is showing some teeth with the story he’s telling about social climbing and capitalism, pretention and identity. He has said that he was inspired by his experience in Korea after encounters with chaebols (family-run conglomerates) and this will be reflected in particular as we get to know Charles’s character, Austin, who like the actor is biracial. The season finale was reportedly filmed in part in Korea and also stars two legends from Korea: Youn Yuh-jung and Song Kang-ho.

Before the premiere last night, it was announced that Sunny’s deal with Netflix has been renewed. It’s a multi-year partnership that will include more scripted series and a feature film. So more Beef could be coming.

Back to the red carpet and the fashion – Carey is wearing Dries Van Noten, I love this blurred pixelated skirt. And what makes this extra notable is that she isn’t often in colour. Also… there’s been a stylist change. Carey was working with Andrew Mukamal, who styled her during award season a couple of years ago when she was nominated for Maestro, alongside his other client Margot Robbie. Andrew is still styling Margot but Carey is now being styled by Danielle Goldberg, who works with Ayo Edebiri and Greta Lee.

The Hollywood Reporter just released their 2026 Power Stylists List yesterday and I wish they would include more details – tea, really – on when and why celebrities change stylists.

You can mock me for this admission, because I deserve it: I came to Hacks late, like didn’t start watching until mid-way through when season three was airing. And even then it took me a while to start season two after I finished season one. See? A dumbass, please take all the shots you want. Once I hit play on season two, though, I was fully evangelised. Hacks is so f-cking good, so f-cking funny, I love the show, I love Deborah and Ava, I love Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder, and I am both excited and sad but more excited than sad that the first episode of the fifth and final season drops tonight on HBO Max and Crave in Canada.

Jean, Hannah, and the cast and crew were at the premiere last night, celebrating what they’ve achieved together – not just Emmys and all kinds of other awards but the community they built while telling the story of two women from different generations figuring out how to bring out the best work in each other. Hacks is a series about friendship, absolutely, but it’s also a workplace comedy, a gift to the Show Your Work junkies out there. Which is why, at least for me, I wasn’t trying to speed through the hard parts of their relationship, when Deborah and Ava were at their lowest points, not vibing at all (not just an episode here and there but entire seasons!) because that often is the work – they say Gen Z and Alpha are afraid of conflict and struggle, and there is certainly value to eliminating specific kinds of struggle, but it’s impossible to guarantee smooth passage, not on television and definitely not in life. This is the foundation of resilience, and you can’t build those muscles if you’re not confronting challenge. More often than not, Hacks has adhered to the writing principle of giving viewers what they need instead of prioritising what they want. Which, by the way, is why they’re ending it after five seasons. Paul W Downs says as much in Variety’s new Hacks cover story published yesterday.

As we knew from the ending of season four, the final season picks up with Deborah and Ava working towards a comeback, after TMZ erroneously (haha) reported Deborah’s death. They leave Singapore and return to the States – the suggestion here is that the two are in complete solidarity, and they’ve earned it. The characters have earned it, the writers have earned it, and the show has earned it. I enjoy the game Hannah likes to play, ranking the five seasons. She says that, “I’m a 5-3-1-4-2 girl.” Haven’t seen 5 yet, but her order for the four seasons, 3-1-4-2, is how I would do it too… so I’m optimistic that I might also align with her once I’ve watched the series finale.

But before then… comedy, hijinks, twists, turns, inevitably some sadness… and also sex. Christopher Briney from The Summer I Turned Pretty joined the cast as Deborah’s younger lover. This is not a spoiler, it’s been widely reported.

My first thought when I saw the trailer for You, Me & Tuscany a few months ago was… oh, so this is While You Were Sleeping for Gen Z. Not complaining. I LOVE WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING. Sandra Bullock is magic in that movie, Bill Pullman is adorable and sexy, Peter Gallagher is perfectly dopy, everyone understood the assignment – and the film left a template that has been in storage for much too long. So I’m excited that these tropes are being revived by You, Me & Tuscany in a new setting with two new leads.

No one is in a coma in Tuscany – but Anna, our romantic leading lady played by Halle Bailey, does lie about a man she briefly crushed on, not correcting everyone who assumes she’s his fiancée, first because she wants to hang out in his Italian villa, LOL, but then because she falls in love with his adorable family, just like Sandra Bullock’s Lucy in While You Were Sleeping. That also, of course, includes hunky cousin Michael, played by Regé-Jean Page. Plus, two best friends, one back at home and a new one in Italy, who know about the deception and are the sounding boards for her increasingly absurd predicament. And so much food and travel porn.

We know that Anna will eventually have to confess; we know that she and Michael will fall in love, we know that she will gain a whole loving family in the process… it wouldn’t be a rom-com otherwise. And also, we go into rom-coms with an understanding that the tropes will be served!

That tunic is fashion…and that green and brown trapper bonnet is definitely fashion. It’s Dior vintage, unless they’ve reissued it after Jonathan Anderson’s been going through the archives in his first year as creative director.

If there’s anyone who could get her hands on this piece from the library, and put it on her baby, it’s Rihanna. She’s long had an association with Dior, and it seems to have been further strengthened now that Jonathan is driving. Which, again, brings us back to the Met Gala because this will be the first Met Gala for him since he took over couture, men and womenswear at the house. He’s custom-designed looks for previous Met Galas when he was with Loewe, but Dior is a whole other legacy that he’s stepped into. Will Rihanna be one of the house’s representatives on the first Monday in May?

She’s already repping all kinds of coveted Dior on this trip to Paris, more than just a baby bonnet. In my post about Rihanna yesterday, she was seen carrying a Dior Dracula saddlebag. Today there’s another Dracula, an even more notable piece.

Because the Dior tote has become pretty iconic since it was introduced almost a decade ago. By now most fashion watchers are aware of its classic shape and the standup handles. Last year, before his debut menswear collection, Jonathan revealed how he’d reimagined the tote as the Dior Book Tote for summer 2026.

Book tote, literally. As in first editions of classic books as part of the tote’s design, but Bram Stoker’s Dracula is the OG here, as Jonathan explained:

“When I got a job with Brown Thomas and moved to Dublin, I remember walking past a red brick house with a plaque on it that read ‘Bram Stoker, author of Dracula, lived here. I had to do a double take because I never knew that an Irish person wrote Dracula. People tend to think it’s American. When I realized Bram Stoker lived on the same street, Kildare Street, that I was living on in Dublin, it took me a few days to process…. Dracula became one of the most iconic stories of the 20th century, over 200 films have been made of it, and his Irishness is often overlooked. The novel has been interpreted as Stoker’s play on late-Victorian fears of immigration—mostly from Eastern Europe at the time—which goes to show how history repeats itself.”

It’s artistic expression and social commentary through fashion, and also heritage. That’s another layer and connection here to Rihanna and her daughter, Rocki Irish Mayers.

SNL has revealed its final slate of hosts and musical guests for this current season. Will Ferrell returning for the season finale isn’t surprising, he has a new Netflix series coming out soon – The Hawk, it’s about a former golf legend on a comeback tour. My husband is all over this because 1. he plays golf and 2. all his speech patterns are based on Will Ferrell sketches and movies. Matt Damon hasn’t hosted since 2018 which is the same year he cameo-ed in the season premiere as Brett Kavanaugh, which they pulled together in just 24 hours. I always have time for this sketch – Matt is spectacularly unhinged.

Speaking of quoting from SNL sketches, I’m always trying to work “I’m gonna start at an eleven, I’ma take it to about a fifteen real quick!” into every conversation. For funsies, let’s watch it again. (Vulture)

Olivia Wilde’s directing career, so far, is averaging .500. Booksmart: good. Don’t Worry Darling: bad. I don’t even mean all the behind-the-scenes drama on that one, I just mean Don’t Worry Darling does not function as a narrative. It’s like there are entire scenes missing from the script. But now, after a divisive film and even more divisive production and promotion period, Olivia Wilde is back as a director and I’m genuinely glad. Men f-ck up movies all the time and it never slows them down. True parity is letting women fail—fail hard, fail spectacularly—and move on like that sh-t never happened.

Wilde’s new film is The Invite, an English-language adaptation of The People Upstairs, a Spanish film written and directed by Cesc Gay. The Invite is adapted by Rashida Jones & Will McCormack, and Wilde directs and stars in the film. Co-starring with her are Seth Rogen, Penelope Cruz, and Edward Norton. The Invite is billed as a comedy-drama, and it’s about two couples who are neighbors and have a fateful dinner party. The trailer dropped yesterday, and yes, I am feeling this.

Without doing any googling, you assume this is sex stuff, right? But I like how this trailer is cut, with the windowing effect shrinking the world into claustrophobic frames, and the increasing panic coming off Seth Rogen’s character. The Norton/Cruz couple could also be into hunting humans! It’s probably sex stuff, but maybe it’s actually hunting humans stuff! Again, probably not, but there is an edge in the trailer that suggests someone will die before the night is out, and Everyone Is A Suspect.

Showing that Wilde is truly rebounding unscathed from Don’t Worry Darling, The Invite was received very well at Sundance earlier this year. It also prompted a good old-fashioned bidding war, selling in the eight-figure range at a time when the Sundance market was very slow, even depressed. That is a bright spot for the indie sector, though The Invite is also a film with an extremely marketable, powerhouse cast—a film starring four unknown actors would not get the same response from distributors. It’s a very specific bright spot.

Speaking of marketing, A24 won that bidding war, so brace yourselves for an aggressive press campaign later this summer. The Invite is set for release at the end of June. Once upon a time, that was a great spot for adult-oriented counterprogramming; now, though, genuinely who knows. Maybe The Invite will be a sleeper hit and make $80 million. Maybe six people will see it. It is impossible to tell right now. The Drama’s opening weekend ($14 million) is a sign that people will turn up for a twisted romantic drama, as is last year’s summer box office for Materialists, which topped $100 million. A24 is undoubtedly hoping for a Materialists-style hit here, which is not a big reach, given that both films are rom-dram ensembles pieces about the nightmare of modern love.

I’m just glad to see Olivia Wilde back on track. Whatever punishment you feel she may deserve for dating an actor in her film and getting messy was dealt tenfold by Harry Styles’s unhinged stans, never mind Jason Sudeikis, her ex-husband, ruining Ted Lasso to make an entire season of television about their divorce. Whatever wrongs you feel she committed—mine is just that she was unprofessional—she paid for it in the court of public opinion, several times over. And now it’s years later and her new film looks great. Sincerely, good for her.

As Lainey mentioned yesterday in What Else?, this week’s MUST read is The Cut’s story What Broke the Beckhams by Bridget Read. It is well researched and goes into the lore on both families – the Peltzes as litigious bullies and the Beckhams as image-obsessed and opportunistic. Yes, there’s more about The Dance (I find the detail on DJ Fat Tony not even being in the room interesting) and the legal issues around licensing his name (which Brooklyn says impacted their relationship greatly; a source specifically disputes that).

It also points out that Brooklyn is using the Beckham playbook (family-first coordinated photos, my wife is my life etc.), but now with his in-laws,trading one overbearing family for another. Reading a piece like this makes the PR-pushed stories look so much more obvious. It took all my willpower not to text Lainey 80 times in a row while reading it.

 Here is Brooklyn Beckham out in West Hollywood on the weekend with Cody Simpson.

Timothée Chalamet and Kylie and Kendall Jenner were papped after dinner at Sushi Park last night, giving me an opportunity to be amused, once again, at how overrated this place is because of all these celebrities who go there – for the privacy, no doubt, but please don’t tell me the food is worth the price. I actually just read a hilarious piece a few weeks ago at Mad Food World breaking down how Sushi Park “is doing less with more and getting away with it more successfully”. But then again, who would ever trust this cohort of celebrity with food recommendations?

It’s not just in LA, though. Here in Toronto, I don’t trust anyone who only eats in the downtown core where they think is the “best xyz” in the city. Those of us who are willing to go outside of what’s considered the cool borders of town know where the best flavours are, and also the Asian aunties. My ma would flip a table over at Sushi Park if she saw the prices and compared them to the flavour.

Back to Timmy and the Jenners – he and Kylie were just on holiday somewhere and have returned to LA, perhaps because Coachella is this weekend? They went last year and this year Justin Bieber is headlining. Not that Timmy and Kylie wouldn’t be into other artists but considering how close Kendall and Kylie are to Hailey (who thinks Sushi Park is the sh-t), it’s not a stretch to think that their crew might show up to support JB. This, of course, includes Timmy now since he and Kylie have been together three years and since we saw, a few months ago, the Biebers and that whole circle doing their part to promote Marty Supreme in those windbreakers.

For now, their outfits are all relatively on trend, some better than others. Timmy’s in the Dior Roadie Lace-Up Boot, which was divisive when Jonathan Anderson first showed it on the runway a few months ago…

…but it’s now hard to find in certain sizes and colourways, so it’s definitely a coveted item among fashion boys. I definitely prefer it to the f-ckass thong heels that Kylie’s wearing which I know the fashion girlies are all over but I will never, ever not hate them. They are, in my opinion, an abomination, a stain on footwear.

As for Kendall, another example of the 90s straight leg jeans trend over square-toe ballet flats. Inoffensive but I can firmly declare I’m never going back to ballet flats, for back protection – a bitch has to consider the back at a certain age!

Zendaya, as we just saw, went all-out to promote The Drama over the last few weeks. And now, just over a week after The Drama opened in theatres, it’s time for season three of Euphoria, so there’s been some interest in how much energy Zendaya would be giving this project.

Last night was the premiere, Zendaya was there in a slinky high collar dress with a lot of side boob, beautiful of course but… not exactly the OMFG of The Drama press wardrobe.

I’m not sure it wasn’t intentional either. Like, she showed up dutifully, because Z is nothing if not professional, but I can’t imagine that she or Law Roach had this on the A rack. Also there was no posing with Sam Levinson, the controversial showrunner, which is unusual, considering she’s the show’s lead and he’s the show’s creator and they were close. Before, that is.

But Sam has been heavily criticised for his writing, accused of exploitation, and also called out for how he’s managed his sets, that he reportedly doesn’t respect anyone’s time, that he’s disorganised and often overbudget, that he’s operating often without a clear plan – not just on Euphoria but on The Idol, a total mess of a show from top to bottom.

To go back to his relationship with Zendaya, then, it’s the article in The Hollywood Reporter from July 2024 that people point to that may have been the end of their partnership, at least spiritually. In that piece he seems to blame her being a movie star for the delay and the long gap between Euphoria seasons two and three. And in a subsequent interview with Vanity Fair, Zendaya sidestepped a mention of him, while remaining committed to her character, Rue, and finishing off her story. Many people also read into her comment about how the Euphoria delay had nothing to do with her schedule since she had, by that point, been pretty free for over a year.

Euphoria season three started production in February last year and continued through 2025. Zendaya also filmed The Odyssey, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and Dune 3 afterwards and in-between. Somehow she was able to pull all of that off and maybe get secretly married – so her time management, really, should not be in question.

She did, however, spend very little time at the Euphoria premiere last night. It does not appear that she stayed for the greeting. Again, as previously noted, there was no red carpet moment with Sam, although they did greet each other briefly.

That, to me, looks perfunctory and rather impersonal. So, presumably, she has given this series what she can, and is more than ready to move on.

The same could be said in Jacob Elordi’s case, arguably the second most-successful cast member, considering he was just nominated for an Oscar. I don’t see any group shots with the cast that include Jacob (if you have, let me know) but he did stop to greet Maude Apatow.

What about Sydney Sweeney? The Housemaid reversed her slump after back-to-back flops last year so she needs the boost she’ll get from Euphoria right now to continue rebuilding momentum. And Cassie’s storyline will probably give her that, now that she’s on OnlyFans and doing, well, what Cassie does. No doubt by Sunday night our timelines will be inundated with Sydney-Cassie content and she will leverage that accordingly.

Scooter Braun was with Sydney last night at the premiere. There’s a video of her giving him a quick kiss that’s making the rounds. Which celebrity couple would win in the most unpopular cage match? Sydney and Scooter or Kylie and Timmy

As for her look last night, it’s Pierre Cardin from 2007, not convinced this is as notable of a pull as she wants it to be.

Following their tour stop in Japan earlier this week, Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway are now in Korea. And, obviously, there were multiple outfits.

It was the other way around earlier in the day at the press conference, though, with Meryl in red (Prada, of course) and Annie in an off-white voluminous corset over black pants.

This was Meryl’s first time in Korea. But as she shared during the presser, she’s become increasingly familiar with Korean culture lately through her grandchildren. I love what she says here about culture and connection. Yes, Kpop Demon Hunters has made its way into Meryl Streep’s life!

She seemed particularly moved when she and Anne were presented each with a one-of-a-kind pair of shoes inspired by The Devil Wears Prada, but make it Korean. Look at the way she inhales and shakes her head in disbelief/gratitude/emotion at the end of this video.

And later, per Annie’s request, she gave the people what they wanted. Some people might find this tiresome, perhaps in the west, but I find it charming, that when in the East, where fan service is what they do, she hasn’t been too serious to oblige, and keep obliging. 

Part of Meryl and Anne’s Korean schedule also included an upcoming appearance on You Quiz On The Block, hosted by Yoo Jae Seok. For those who are unfamiliar, Yoo Jae Seok is considered the “Nation’s MC” in Korea, more popular, more beloved, than almost every idol. He hosts multiple variety and talk shows, like Ryan Seacrest in America, except nobody hates Jae Seok, arguably the most beloved Korean celebrity for many, many years running.

So many Hollywood stars have made their way onto his shows when they’re in Korea for promotion. But there is one star he seems to love the most. He calls her “Meryl noona”.

I can’t wait to watch this episode. I can’t wait to see how he reacts to meeting her. I can’t wait to see how she reacts to him.

By the way, more people will know about Yoo Jae Seok soon because his new show Jae-seok's B&B Rules! is premiering on Netflix in the next few months, which will be his seventh or eighth (NOT A TYPO!) ongoing series in production. And, I repeat, they are not sick of him, this is his impact!

Dear Gossips,

I mean this in the most uncreepy way possible: wonder how much sleep RM, Jin, Suga, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook are getting tonight. At the time of writing, it’s around 9pm in Korea, the last night before they kick off their world tour with the first of three shows in Goyang on Thursday. Sure, they performed the livestream concert in Seoul a few weeks ago but that, really, was just a teaser for the main event with the special in-the-round stage on which they will spend close to three hours running through what will likely be an exhaustive setlist to represent the 13 years they’ve been BTS.

Several of the members shared photos from rehearsal yesterday. Here’s j-hope counting down:

What we’re about to see tomorrow has been months and months in the making – and there’s so much making. With the album release and the Netflix live event plus the documentary, it was already enough to drive anticipation. But these people can’t seem to stop with the rollout!

Yesterday they dropped the video for “Hooligan”, not even a week after the “2.0” video came out. So by my count, so far, BTS has given us:

-Four different videos for “Swim” plus the dance practice and the behind-the-scenes feature from filming

-the “2.0” video plus the dance practice

-the “Hooligan” video

-countless social media clips

-countless talk show and other interviews… including Hot Ones to come tomorrow

Plus also yesterday a chaotic prologue to the new season of their variety show Run! BTS 2.0. This was 12 minutes of BTS being BTS – incapable of staying focused during a planning conversation, teasing each other mercilessly, and in the end deciding literally nothing; it was the best kind of nonsense, signature BTS nonsense…which… kinda works with the visuals for “Hooligan”.

This is glam punk BTS, also nonsense, just with a different energy. And this too is what’s familiar to ARMY, seeing the duality of the band, who can be silly and disorganised hooligans one minute and swaggering highly stylised bravado the next – seven fallen angels playing as kings of the underworld, a defiant IDGAF to those who’ve doubted. And a slick thirst trap for those who’ve never left. Jimin’s hair in this video is …doing something inappropriate to me.

But back the point I was trying to make about their relentless output. All of this, without the tour starting tomorrow, would have kept us well fed for weeks. But BTS has decided to flood the zone, their way. The concert starts on Thursday around 6am ET. Then, because a whole ass concert isn’t enough, at 11am ET, we can chase the experience of their first show with them on Hot Ones.

So I guess if they’re not sleeping, we aren’t either.

The Testaments premieres tomorrow on Hulu and Disney+ in Canada, starring Chase Infiniti as Agnes but if you’ve read Margaret Atwood’s book, you know who she really is. This is the sequel series to The Handmaid’s Tale, so we’re back in Gilead, several years after the conclusion of Handmaid’s, experiencing it through Agnes. Chase is leading a series here – an excellent follow-up to her breakout role in One Battle After Another, the newly crowned Best Picture Oscar winner.

I’ve screened part of the series and can confirm that Chase’s performance in OBAA wasn’t a fluke; she has it, the talent, the charisma, the layers. As Agnes, Chase is among a cohort of “Plums”, young girls who’ve not yet gotten their periods, being groomed for what will eventually be their only contribution to society: breeding. This is Gilead, after all, so it’s not like we’re getting a happy, happy, fun, fun show about teenagers.

Outside of the story though, the Plums are on the press tour, after spending months together filming in Toronto, hanging out in New York today, enjoying the freedom and expression not afforded to their characters. Chase just posted this…and, of course, it’s set to one of the most viral songs of the moment, with a K-pop connection.

By now it’s no secret that Chase is a K-pop stan. She’s always talking about K-pop, she’s always being asked about it, and apparently when they were in production on The Testaments in Toronto, she was taking the other girls – Rowan Blanchard, Lucy Halliday, and Mattea Conforti – to Koreatown for dinner and bonding sessions.

Here they are, the Plums at press events today, and Chase in a deconstructed and layered khaki set with outrageously good hair and makeup.

Sports gossip is so bitchy, I love it. There’s an uptick in Rory McIlroy stories thanks to a new unauthorized biography coming out. The drop is timed to coincide with the Masters (Rory is defending champion, you can see his menu for the dinner below –great choices). But “professional athlete cheated” is not news at 11. Even if everything in that book is true… Rory plays the same sport as Tiger Woods. This scandal is pretty tame. I’ve talked to Lainey and friends (sports fans and not) about Tiger’s current troubles. Tiger may be a meme but he’s not a joke. And he’s not disliked. The cheating and the DUIs, his MAGA connections (he is dating Trump’s former daughter-in-law), two mugshots, and you will be hard-pressed to find anyone who wants Tiger to be banished. The golf world certainly doesn’t want that – they talk about him constantly. They would love nothing more for him to come back. If he did, I have no doubt the ratings would be astronomical. Of course people love their sports idols, but none of them are infallible (look at the way Wayne Gretzky is perceived in Canada right now). There is something about the way Tiger transcends sport that is untouchable. I’m making my own point here: I started this post talking about Rory and ended it with Tiger, who won’t even be at the Masters! He is all over my feed and I’m not complaining.

Blake Lively spent the weekend posting about updates to her case against Justin Baldoni and Wayfarer and it makes sense that she took it to social media, because that’s where the fight has been happening. That’s where the damage has been done. (Here’s a legal analysis of the details.) She has been quite consistent in her words and behaviour leading up to the trial and one thing I’ve noticed is that besides Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman and Amber Tamblyn, celebrities don’t engage with her posts. I wonder if this is strategy and she has asked her friends and supporters not to weigh in because it’s so toxic online and she doesn’t want to open them up to being brigaded. Or not?

Jennifer Lawrence stepped out in New York this week, after spending time in February and March in Prague where she was shooting Martin Scorsese’s What Happens At Night with Leonardo DiCaprio. I haven’t seen any news about them wrapping production so this might just be a break in the schedule. Wonder if they’ll be done by the Met Gala.

I just mentioned the Met Gala earlier in the Rihanna/Beyoncé post, how long it’s been since Beyoncé attended. In Jennifer’s case, it’s even longer – she hasn’t gone since 2015, when she co-chaired; that was the China Through the Looking Glass year. So the Met Gala just isn’t her thing…

But I keep thinking about her appearance at the Golden Globes. Remember? In Givenchy by Sarah Burton, and she was my best dressed of the night. Right now it’s probably my favourite look of 2026 so far. An exquisite dress, for sure, but it was also the unexpected factor. None of us could have predicted that that would have been JLaw’s choice that night. It was suuuuch a serve, such a big swing resulting in a home run way outside the stadium.

Jennifer was styled by Ryan Hastings at the Globes, it was pretty much the debut of their partnership. So, to go back to the Met Gala, and that stunning look from the Golden Globes, maybe the Met Gala could be her thing again now that she has a new stylist? Maybe that Givenchy was signalling the start of a new style era for her?

For now, let’s talk about her shoes. She’s still wearing what’s probably been the buzziest sneakers of the last year, the Adidas Tokyo. We first saw them on her in April 2025, and on practically everyone else around the same time. How does she keep them so clean? Does she have multiples?

The Tokyos overtook the Sambas through the summer and they’re still very popular. Jennifer’s colourway, white with red accents, is low in stock at most retailers. Farfetch still has a few pairs and Adidas Australia seems to have a better supply but I’m not sure about the shipping if you’re not actually in Australia. Other colourways though are more readily available. 

The Tokyos are part of the overall sneakerina mary jane trend that exploded a year ago. And Adidas has multiple options. I actually prefer the Adidas Tokyo Mary Jane – instead of shoelaces it’s straps – and the Adidas Taekwondo Mei.  Because I’m lazy and I like a slip-on. The most comfortable, though, at least in my opinion, are the Adidas Samba Mary Janes.

But obviously it’s more than just Adidas doing the sneakerina. Every brand, it seems, has a sneakerina/mary jane on the market right now. Camper has a cute pair with a wider band that I quite liked but they didn’t look right on my weird ass feet. A friend of mine has cute feet and she bought them, they look great on her. 

I LOVE the Vivaia Square-Toe Lace-Up Satin Sneakerina – the pink is so pretty and the shape is so light and elegant.

Ralph Lauren’s take on the Adidas Taekwondo is their Nylon Lace-Up Ballerina Sneaker, on sale right now.

But the pair I covet the most, a more substantial sneaker, not truly a sneakerina-jane, definitely not a pair that you want to kick the sh-t out of, but the ones that are sitting in my cart, even though I can’t pull the trigger because BTS is taking all my money …

The Marni Mary Jane sneakers. They’re on sale in off-white, and those were the ones I was salivating over…until I saw the new denim version, OMFG. That toe, the perfect placement and width of the strap, and that stitching…

If BTS isn’t taking all your money, please get them and put me out of my thirst.

By the way, if you’re interested in sneakers in general, and not necessarily sneakerina-janes, I just bought a pair that I am obsessed with, for a great deal. And it’s currently my favourite Adidas sneaker style, because I want more support than the sneakerina-janes off: the Adidas Women's Handball Spezial Sneakers but in the best colourway, brown and yellow, with a weaved textile that looks like ramen! I will be living in these kicks all summer with jeans or shorts and a rugby shirt.
