The new décor was tastefully created by the Executive Director Catherine Ramsay, Maintenance Director Larry Micca and the dedicated team at Claremont. With a beach theme in mind, all the window treatments were creatively designed from bamboo and fish nets. Residents, family members, and community guests were treated to a delicious seafood buffet. The Lake Havasu Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the 23rd anniversary of Air Evac’s Lake Havasu City location. Air Evac first opened in June of 1986; the Lake Havasu base (AE-30) has played a crucial role in the health of the surrounding community by flying more than 7,000 patients since its inception. The Lake Havasu location flies patients in a modern Conquest II aircraft, capable of flying over 330 MPH and equipped with the latest in life-saving technology. Mayor Mark Nexsen and the Lake Havasu Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors joined the Eagles for a ribbon cutting for the Grand ReOpening of the Aerie on July 2nd. The front social room of the Aerie was closed for one month to complete a remodeling. The VFW, American Legion and Aerie officers joined in the ceremony. The ribbon was cut by Worthy President Ron Bush and Madam President Dianna Clay. Over 300 attended the event with entertainment by Mike Steele.

The 2009 graduates of the Havasu Leadership Development program recently completed a community project in conjunction with the Arizona Department of Economic Security and the Arizona’s Childrens Association. The class decorated and outfitted three rooms within the new Tradewinds Building at the London Bridge Plaza. The rooms will be used for children and families in transition and for visitation. Project manager Lisa Riddle and her team planned and implemented the project over the past nine months. Children of the classmates and the Lake Havasu Chamber Ambassadors assisted the opening with a ribbon cutting. The Leadership Program is sponsored by the Lake Havasu Area Chamber of Commerce.
