46th Annual Oktoberfest in Alexander City Moves to October 17, 2026

If you’re looking for something fun to do around Lake Martin this fall, the annual Oktoberfest in Alexander City is coming up. This year marks the 46th annual celebration, and the event has been moved to Saturday, October 17, 2026. It’s a longtime local tradition featuring food, entertainment, shopping, a custom car show, and activities for the kids such as arts and crafts.

What to Expect at Alexander City’s Oktoberfest

Alexander City Parks and Recreation organizes Oktoberfest, bringing together local vendors, food, and entertainment for the community. Visitors can browse vendor booths, check out the custom car show, and enjoy a variety of activities throughout the event. It’s a chance to spend some time outside and see what’s happening around Alexander City.

There’s plenty planned for the kids, too. The event includes a petting zoo, inflatables, as well as arts and crafts. That makes Oktoberfest a good option for families looking for something to do around Lake Martin.

Don’t Miss the Custom Car Show

The custom car show is another part of Alexander City’s Oktoberfest. Along with the vendors and other activities, visitors will have an opportunity to check out a collection of custom cars. If you enjoy looking at cars, this might be one of the first stops you’ll want to make.

Oktoberfest 2026 Event Details

This year’s Oktoberfest will take place at the Charles E. Bailey, Sr. Sportplex in Alexander City, Alabama. The event was originally scheduled for Saturday, October 10, but has been moved to Saturday, October 17. Admission is free, making it an easy outing for families and visitors spending time around Lake Martin.

A lot of people associate Lake Martin with summer, but there’s still plenty going on around here in the fall. Community events like Oktoberfest give people another reason to get out and enjoy the area after the busiest part of the lake season has passed. And after 46 years, Oktoberfest has certainly become a familiar part of Alexander City’s fall calendar.

390 Hickory Drive on Lake Martin is Pending

390 Hickory Drive is now pending on Lake Martin! I’m excited for my sellers as we move on to the next step. We listed this Lake Martin waterfront home at $1,199,000. It didn’t take long for a buyer to see what made this place special. Of course, I think a lot of that starts with the water.

Big Water Makes a Difference

When I first walked around 390 Hickory Drive, I kept coming back to the big water right in front of the house. This isn’t just a good view of Lake Martin. There’s also room to ski, tube, ride the Sea-Doo, do all the lake things. You can do all of that without loading everybody into the boat and going somewhere else.

That might sound like a small distinction until you’ve owned a lake house for a while. Eventually, you realize that making things easy usually means you use them more, whether that’s jumping off the dock for a quick swim or taking one more ski run before dinner. At 390 Hickory Drive, the lake is right there waiting on you.

A Place to Watch the Kids Grow Up

That’s why the thought I kept having while marketing this house was, “You could watch your kids grow up here.” First they’re catching little fish off the dock or trying to stand up on a paddleboard, and a few summers later they’re learning how to ski. Then somehow they’re big enough to crank up the Sea-Doo by themselves, and you wonder when exactly that happened.

The neat part about this house is that a lot of those moments can happen while you’re sitting right there on the porch. You don’t necessarily know which lake days your kids are going to remember twenty years from now, and usually they aren’t the ones you tried to plan. More often, they’re just ordinary afternoons that didn’t seem quite so important at the time.

The New Dock Helped Complete the Waterfront

The big new dock was another part of 390 Hickory Drive that stood out to me. It gives you room for boats, Sea-Doos, and swimming.

I also think docks are something people can underestimate when they’re thinking about the value of Lake Martin real estate. Kitchens and bathrooms matter, but a really good dock and waterfront setup can change the way you use a lake house every single day.

A Lake House That Works for a Crowd

The two-story layout at 390 Hickory Drive also makes sense for weekends when everybody shows up. The upstairs street level has the kitchen and main living spaces with those big water views. The downstairs is the lake level, putting you closer to the dock and waterfront. That gives people room to spread out without feeling disconnected from everything happening at the lake.

I’m happy for my sellers, and I’m also excited about the next family getting the chance to enjoy this piece of Lake Martin.

Hopefully there are a lot of fish caught, skis learned, Maui Mat battles fought, and long afternoons spent on that dock in the years ahead. That’s a pretty good future for a lake house.

Harbor Pointe Condos Lake Martin Alabama | What Buyers Need To Know Before Investing Here

In this blog, I will be talking about Harbor Pointe Condos on Lake Martin, which are located inside the greater neighborhood of StillWaters on the southeast side of the lake.

Amenities in StillWaters

There are tons of StillWaters amenities. Obviously, you got the golf course. It’s a semi-private golf course. There’s also lots of restaurants like Prime Steakhouse. You also have The Landing at Harbor Pointe that is waterfront. Bluffs Daiquiri Bar is also waterfront and is a fun place to visit. 

Harbor Pointe Marina is inside StillWaters, and you have access to the other the neighborhood community amenities as well. These include the pickle ball court and the neighborhood pool. 

As far as where you are on the water, all the StillWaters things apply. This means you’re about 35 minutes away from the stadium at Auburn. On the east side, you’re close to Georgia. By water, you’re also close not only to the things inside StillWaters but like Chuck’s Marina and Chimney Rock. 

Harbor Point is made up of five separate buildings and everybody calls them by the letters that they are. The A building is the one that looks right over the marina. The B building looks south and right over the beach. The C building looks almost directly west and has beautiful sunsets. Then, D and E are on up the slough. They have varying degrees of that western view inside that slough.

Prices for Harbor Pointe Condos

What do prices look like in general at Harbor Pointe? Well, some two-bedroom units have sold recently. Three of them sold and were between about $600,000 and about $620,000. Also, 12 three-bedroom units sold here in the last 24 months. Those sold from about $560,000 on the low side to about $880,000 on the high side. 

Another thing I sometimes get questions about is do prices vary as the floors go? For example, the higher up you get does it get more expensive? And, I think that answer is probably one where at Harbor Pointe there’s only 100 units total. So, you have a really small sample pool. 

I did look in the last 24 month stretch, and one of the units, unit 304, sold both in a B building that looks over the beach and also in the E building which is the farthest back up in the slough. Now, the B building that looks over the beach was a two-bedroom unit sold for $600K. The three bedroom, the one in the E building, sold for $700K. 

So, clearly the number of bedrooms trumps the view in between those two buildings. Also, the B building that had two bedrooms did not have a boat slip. So, again, boat slips are a huge factor when you’re looking at Harbor Pointe and anywhere else. 

What affects prices in Harbor Pointe? 

That’s a really good question. Number one, I’d say it’s like everything on Lake Martin. View, privacy, and location. The view is a big factor in lake Harbor Pointe condos like anywhere. 

Therefore, I’d say that the D and the E buildings, do tend to sell for a little less than the A, B, and C buildings because they are further back in the slough. The last two years about 15 have sold. That’s about average, I’d say, at Harbor Pointe. About seven of these condos sell per year depending on all of the various buildings. 

Now, if you own a a spot in Harbor Pointe, and you’re wondering what these generalities mean to you and about the market in general, then I’d love to help you out. I could give you a valuation for your condo for no charge and no strings attached. It is nice to know how the economy and how the overall market might have affected your’s. 

Harbor Pointe Amenities 

You also have amenities for Harbor Pointe that are just specific to it. Like l’ve said, the amenities are really nice. They have this big huge beach that looks south over Blue Creek that a lot of people like to hang out on. 

They also have a pool that they keep really nice and well done. If you’re driving in your boat into the marina, then you’ll see the pool and the beach there on your left as you drive in. 

Also, as far as the Harbor Pointe amenities go, there’s a grilling pavilion that’s really nice. Once again, they keep everything high and tight here at Harbor Pointe. 

One thing to note at Harbor Pointe, the boat slips are assigned. So, they’re not public boat slips, and not every Harbor Pointe unit has a deeded boat slip that comes with it. So, that’s one thing you really need to check when you’re looking at these condos. 

Speaking of boat slips, what I looked up in the last two years, about 15 Harbor Pointe units have been sold. Of those 15, four did not have boat slips. 11 did. So, you know, easily 2/3 of them have boat slips in that 2-year period. 

You’re also right next to the marina in case you didn’t want to have a slip, but you just wanted to keep your boat here at the Harbor Pointe Marina.

What Condo Buyer Would Like Harbor Pointe?

What I normally tell my condo buyers is if your priorities are that you want really nice amenities and would like to be inside the StillWaters neighborhood, then Harbor Pointe might be a good option for you. 

If it were me and I had a Harbor Pointe condo, what I’d probably do is I would go all in on the StillWaters and Harbor Pointe lifestyle. Meaning I would definitely want to have a slip, personally, but I’d also keep my boat at Harbor Pointe Marina. That way they could splash it for me when I’m coming down and getting ready.

I also would think about having a golf cart. I’m not personally a golfer, but I have a lot of friends that are. So, I think if you’re inside StillWaters and you have a golf cart, then that’d be cool. You’d be able to ride up to play golf, number one. Then number two, you’d be able to go to all the restaurants and drive on your golf cart. 

A huge thing about Harbor Pointe that’s different than a lot of them is they don’t allow short-term rentals. So, that may or may not be a good thing for you. If you do want to be able to short-term rent your condo, then Harbor Pointe’s not the place for you because they have covenants against that.

One of my favorite parts of selling Lake Martin real estate is getting a front row seat to the beginning of someone’s next chapter. That was certainly the case with the buyers of 3509 Bay Pine Road. I had the privilege of representing them as they made their move into the Lake Martin area.

Best Coffee Around Lake Martin Alabama

Are you like me and love coffee? I thought I’d write a blog to tell you about some of the best local spots to get your coffee fix around Lake Martin. 

I know when you’re new to an area, finding that perfect spot for your morning brew can make all the difference. That’s why I wanted to share a few of my favorites and give you the inside scoop on where locals love to go.

Bru63 Coffee in Catherine’s at Russell Crossroads

First up, we have Bru63. It’s located in Catherine’s Market at Russell Crossroads, and they have converted the entire backside of Catherine’s to their coffee shop. This is a great spot to stop for coffee. I love to get hot coffee there, but I also like to go and get their ground coffee. 

Kowaliga General Store

Another place to grab a coffee or a latte is the Kowaliga General Store. This coffee shop is located downtown Kowaliga which is on Highway 63. It’s located in between the Dollar General and the Lake Martin Mini Mall in Eclectic, AL.

Their menu includes lattes, mochas, cappuccinos, and many more. Not only do they have great coffee, they also have great pies and sandwiches as well.

Nirvana Latte Coffee

Nirvana Latte has been here a long time and just expanded. They’ve doubled their size. They serve ice cream, lunch, awesome coffee and a great breakfast.

Make sure to check out their menu on their website linked above. They have so many great options to choose from. They also offer takeout through their website.

The Grand Bakery in Downtown Dadeville

The Grand Bakery is another great place to stop for coffee. It’s in downtown Dadeville next to Camellia Cafe. They sell cake pops, oatmeal cream pies, and so much more. It’s pretty awesome, so definitely make sure to check them out if you are in the area.

Two Ghosts Coffee in Downtown Dadeville

Another spot around Lake Martin to get coffee is Two Ghosts Coffee. It’s located in downtown Dadeville on the back side of the courthouse. They have great coffee as well as breakfast and lunch food. 

Restoration 49 Coffee in Tallassee

Lake Martin fans might not know about this next coffee shop. Restoration 49 in Tallasee, AL, is a must stop if you are in the Lake Martin area. It’s south of the lake and about 15 minutes from the Eclectic side.

Located in downtown Tallassee, it is a treasure and really cool spot to stop. They have really good coffee and nice people. 

Starbucks in Alexander City Near Lake Martin

Another place is the brand new Starbucks located on the intersection of Hwy 280 and Hwy 63 on the north side of Lake Martin. This Starbucks is in Alexander City and is a great new addition to this side of the lake.

StillWaters by Golf Cart

Can you spend an entire weekend at Lake Martin without getting in your car? I decided to find out by staying in StillWaters all weekend to see how many places I could get to by golf cart without having to drive my car.

Personally, I think StillWaters is the most golf cart friendly neighborhood around Lake Martin. Spending the weekend there gave me a chance to put that opinion to the test. The Cart Source in Dadeville loaned me a golf cart, and they were super nice about it.

Getting Around StillWaters by Golf Cart

The golf cart was an E Z GO ELiTE, and it was really nice. It had an LED screen, a radio, seating for four people, as well as plenty of room in the back for my cooler and everything else. It was pretty much perfect for what I was trying to do.

The Cart Source is a local company in Dadeville on Highway 280. You’ve probably seen them if you’ve driven up and down 280. They’re huge, and they’ve got all the best dealerships there.

My Home Base at Villas on the Harbor

Another big part of making this work was using 507 Villas on the Harbor as my home base. It’s a listing of mine with three bedrooms, a boat slip, a deeded PWC slip, four parking spots, as well as a garage for the golf cart.

This condo is now under contract, but I have another awesome condo listing in StillWaters. It’s Harbor Pointe Condo E103. This is another great spot that gives you access to all StillWaters has to offer plus a private sandy beach and lakeside pool. Harbor Pointe Marina Inside StillWaters

Once I got to the Villas on the Harbor, I was 100 percent in golf cart mode. The car keys could stay put. From there, I started seeing just how much I could do around StillWaters without getting back in the car.

One of the best things about StillWaters is that they’ve got their own marina inside the gates. Harbor Pointe Marina gives you a place to store your boat, get gas, and visit the ship store. That’s a huge benefit if you’re trying to spend your weekend inside StillWaters.

The Landing at Harbor Pointe is also right there. It’s one of the newest and most popular restaurants, and I noticed something I hadn’t really paid attention to before. They’ve already got about eight or nine golf cart parking spots, which makes getting there by golf cart really convenient.

I was able to eat at The Landing at Harbor Pointe without getting in my car. Also, Prime Steakhouse gave me another option for lunch inside StillWaters. Having restaurants that I could reach by golf cart made this whole experiment pretty easy.

Lake Martin Grocery Store by Golf Cart

One of the key elements that made the whole plan work was Lake Martin Grocery. It’s connected to StillWaters by a golf cart path, so I didn’t even have to get out on the highway. I could just ride the golf cart over there, and it’s a full grocery store.

At that point, I felt like I was kind of cheating. This really wasn’t too hard. I still hadn’t started my car and had been getting around by golf cart the whole time.

Church of the Living Waters

When Sunday rolled around, I didn’t even have to leave StillWaters for church. Church of the Living Waters is inside the gates. It’s also right on the water at StillWaters.

Golf and Amenities at StillWaters

For you golfers out there, no trip to StillWaters is complete without playing at least one round of golf. StillWaters also has a lot of other amenities besides the golf course. All of that adds to the idea that you can park your car and spend your time inside the neighborhood.

The Golf Cart Lifestyle Is Real

One thing I noticed over the course of the three days was that I wasn’t the only person doing this. I bumped into about three people who were basically doing the same thing I was doing. I saw some friends of mine who had just bought a boat, and they were tooling around StillWaters, kind of scoping it out.

A guy at the grocery store really had it dialed in. He was in and out with his stuff, some cold beer, hot dogs, and hamburgers. He had clearly done this before.

Can You Spend a Weekend in StillWaters Without Your Car?

After spending three days doing it, I can say that getting around StillWaters by golf cart was not too hard. I could get to restaurants, the grocery store, Harbor Point Marina, church, golf, and other amenities without starting my car. For someone who likes the idea of throwing down the car keys for the weekend, that’s a pretty cool part of the StillWaters lifestyle.

Harbor Pointe E103 For Sale at Lake Martin

If you are looking for a Lake Martin condo where you can show up and start enjoying the lake, take a look at Harbor Pointe E103. A Great Location Inside StillWaters

Harbor Pointe is located inside the gated StillWaters community on the eastern side of Lake Martin. From E103, you are close to Harbor Pointe Marina, The Landing at Harbor Pointe, Bluffs, and Prime Steakhouse. That gives you plenty of options without having to go very far.

Of course, you can always get in the boat. Head over to Chuck’s for pizza and wings or spend the day exploring Lake Martin. If you are traveling by car, Niffer’s, Oskar’s, and Lake Martin Beach Club are also nearby.

StillWaters also gives you access to golf, tennis, a sandy beach, a lakeside pool, and other community amenities. You can play golf in the morning, get on the boat that afternoon, and grab dinner at Prime that evening. I can think of worse ways to spend a Saturday.

Ground Floor Lake Living

One feature I would not overlook at E103 is the ground floor location. Think about everything you bring to the lake, like coolers, groceries, towels, floats, lake bags, and fishing rods. All that stuff has to go somewhere.

Being on the ground floor makes getting in and out of the condo easier. More importantly, your deeded boat slip is just a short walk away. Grab the cooler and head to the boat.

That is the way a lake place ought to work.

Plenty of Room for Family and Friends

Inside, E103 has 1,518+/- sq ft with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. That gives you enough room to bring family and friends while still having the convenience of owning a condo. When everyone is ready to get outside, you have plenty of options there too.

Harbor Pointe gives you easy access to the water, piers, and plenty of places to enjoy being outside. The condo also sits in a quiet cove where you can swim, float, and enjoy the water without ever cranking the boat. Sometimes that is exactly what you want to do at the lake.

Some lake days call for riding all over Lake Martin. Others call for getting in the water and not going anywhere. You can do either one here.

Less Upkeep, More Lake Martin

One of the reasons people consider condos at Lake Martin is simple. They want a place at the lake, but they do not necessarily want another house to maintain. That is where the condo lifestyle can make a lot of sense.

The $1,316 quarterly HOA fee at Harbor Pointe covers maintenance of the pool, beach, buildings, piers, and landscaping, plus community electric and water. That can make a big difference when you are talking about a second home. You came to Lake Martin to enjoy Lake Martin, not to spend Saturday working on the yard.

61 Olona Drive on Lake Martin is Pending After Just One Day

61 Olona Drive in Dadeville hit the Lake Martin real estate market and is pending just one day later! Listed at $1,349,000, this Blue Creek area waterfront home gave buyers a combination that made a lot of sense: plenty of room, a great waterfront setup and a location that makes it easy to enjoy Lake Martin.

A Lake Martin House With Room for Everybody

One of the biggest selling points at 61 Olona Drive was pretty simple. It had room for everybody.

The 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home offered 3,754+/- sq. ft., including a large game room with a pool table and ping pong table. So, instead of everybody disappearing to different corners of the house, there was actually a place for kids, cousins and friends to hang out together.

That fit the theme of this house pretty well. This was a Lake Martin home built for weekends when everybody shows up.

119’+/- of Waterfront and a Great Lake Setup

Of course, the house was only part of the story.

61 Olona Drive had 119’+/- of Lake Martin waterfront and a long west-facing view across the water. It also had a private boat ramp, covered boat slip, Sea-Doo lift, pier and seawall.

The private boat ramp was especially handy. Having the ability to put a boat or Sea-Doo in the water right at the house is one of those Lake Martin features that can make lake life a whole lot easier.

Close to Lake Martin Favorites

The Blue Creek location was another big plus.

By boat, 61 Olona Drive is close to The Landing at Harbor Pointe, Chuck’s, Bluff’s Daiquiri Bar, Chimney Rock and plenty of other Lake Martin destinations. By car, Niffer’s, Singleton Marine at Blue Creek and the Lake Martin Beach Club are nearby. Lake Martin Grocery is also only about five minutes away by car.

Auburn Football and Lake Martin in the Same Weekend

There was another angle to this location that was hard to ignore.

Auburn is close enough that you don’t necessarily have to choose between an Auburn football weekend and a Lake Martin weekend. Stay at the lake, head to Auburn for the game, then come back to Lake Martin afterward.

Considering the game room already had a pretty strong college football theme, that seemed appropriate.

Pending After Only One Day

Ultimately, buyers decide whether the price, property and location line up. In this case, they didn’t need much time.

61 Olona Drive is pending after only one day on the Lake Martin real estate market.

That’s good news for the sellers, but it also says something about the market. When the right Lake Martin waterfront home comes along and buyers see value in it, things can still move quickly.

If you’re thinking about selling a home on Lake Martin, the lesson isn’t that every property will sell in one day. It’s that positioning a home correctly from the beginning still matters.

And every now and then, it works really fast.
