While some completely forget the idea of a vacation altogether, others save up the whole year to afford a week at a resort or a beach. However, if you spare enough thought and meticulous planning to the affair, then any family can have an enjoyable trip. All the family members, both parents and children, should sit and chalk out the budget for a camping trip. It’s fun and not at all stressful. A few simple pointers can go a long way in transforming dream into reality.

The very first step of the camping trip is to get hold of all the necessary gear and paraphernalia. In the event that you already don’t possess any camping gear, you must start watching the advertisements and paying visits to local stores selling such equipment.

Try to purchase the gear in the off-season when you can get some fantastic deals. Planning early can therefore prove to be immensely beneficial you can even surprise your family by producing the camping gear during the holidays! If you have gone camping before and just want to check out whether you and your family enjoy it then it maybe a good idea to borrow the equipment from somebody for one trip, thus saving money.

An excellent option for cost cutting during your family camping trip is to pack food from home and carry it along. It should last for a long time and should easily fit into your vehicle. Thus there will be no expenditure at the groceries or the open-air markets for a recurrent expense like food of course there must be some variety in the food that you are carrying, keeping in mind individual preferences and needs. For instance, camping with a young child means carrying essential baby items like diapers and baby food that may command a much higher price at the stores near your camping ground.

Shopping around in the stores surrounding your camping ground may be an option. Most of the camping grounds open to public have a similar price range of $8-$16 for a single night and is usually inclusive of restrooms and other facilities until and unless you have chosen a tough camping trip for yourself. Also many of the camping grounds have a plethora of activities lined up for their visitors and if they do then it is wise to enjoy and participate in these nature hikes, craft time, and evening events. They keep in mind the theme of the great outdoors and are almost always included in the camping fee itself. Camp grounds are relatively inexpensive alternatives even to all other budgeted holidays and have tremendous possibilities.

Careful planning and thought can lend the aura of a resort holiday to a budgeted family camping trip. Money does not always provide a good time.

Lake Shafer Largemouth Bass Tips:

Lake Shafer Bass will feed on small bluegill, and Shad. Other food sources may vary, so try to throw colors that
match the baitfish, like silver or white.
Rapala makes a really nice bluegill finish on some of their lures so check those out too.

More Lake Shafer Largemouth Bass Tips

Largemouth bass fishing is going to be slow with the water temperature at 41 degrees.
If you have a chance to get out on the water, you are going to have to fish deep and slow.
Jig fishing and Plastic baits may be your best bet this time of year for largemouth bass.
You may also try fishing some sinking jerk baits.

Lake Shafer Smallmouth Bass Tips:

During summer time, fish around downed trees and fish around dock piling

Smallmouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions:

Smallmouth bass fishing is going to be slow with the water temperature at 41 degrees.
It’s time to fish deep and slow. Try some deep primary points, drop offs, and old river channels with rocks.
Jigs, plastics and deep jerk baits will be your best bet to boat a smallmouth.

Lake Shafer Crappie Tips for Current Conditions:

Crappie fishing is sometimes at its best with the water temperature down this low.
Crappie will be in large schools and follow the large shad schools around in extremely deep water.
Find the deepest parts of your lake in old river channels and scan your graph for schooling shad.
When you find the school, drop your plastics or live bait down to the bottom of the shad and get ready.
Many crappie fishermen will be catching awesome numbers and size of fish this time of year.
If you are brave enough to get out on the water this time when the water temperature is this cold, it can really pay off.

Lake Shafer Walleye Tips for Current Conditions:

Walleye function very well in the colder water temperatures. Try fishing some open flats and definitely use live bait when the water temperature is this low. Plastics with scent added will also produce results, but nothing beats live bait for walleye.

Lake Shafer Catfish Tips

Live bait works real well on shafer cats. Catch some 2-3 inch bluegill, and throw the into down
trees and in dock pililngs. Also try letting it sit on the bottom in the open channels.

Lake Shafer Catfish Tips for Current Conditions:

The catfish family comprises of blue catfish, flathead catfish and channel catfish. Since catfish are warm water fish, they arent going to be very active in this water temperature. They will still be feeding, but catfish will only be found very deep and feeding very slowly. Your best bet is give some of the more active fish species in your lake a shot until the cats are active again.
