Here is a great article on Lake Winnipesaukee in the NY Times. Having grown up enjoying the Lake, I had to move away for a couple years to realize how good it really is being able to live on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee. As my wife said, not everyone has a 44,000 acre lake in their back yard. The word is out and given the prices of waterfront as compared to those more popular places such as Vail, Lake Tahoe, etc, Lake Winnipesaukee is an easy decision. New Hampshire itself has no income tax and waterfront property on any lake in NH has historically yielded a great return. So, instead of watching your stock portfolio shrink, you can teach your kids how to waterski in front of your prime piece of investment property.

On Lake Winnipesaukee, lake frontage and acreage is king. Often times you will have nice homes on top of nice homes without a lot of privacy. This listing has 2 plus acres and 400 feet of lake front. Most of it is like a sugar sand beach you would find in the Caribbean. The opportunity here is not just this outstanding listing, it is the fact there are two other properties on the market that abut the home. This 2 plus acre piece of land is behind the property adding an opportunity for a nice guest house or “toy” barn. Then when you add the neighboring waterfront piece with 90 feet of ALL beach, you have the option to build another waterfront home which looks down the longest part of the lake. In all you would get an 11,000 square foot home, 3 lots of record, nearly 500 feet of usable waterfront and over 8 acres. If you want one of the most prestigious properties on Lake Winnipesuakee, take note of this one.
