End of the Month Sale

It's the end of the month and it's also a long weekend as tomorrow is Labor Day. There are so many end-of-the-month- sales going on around the city now. Sadly, I've just been cooped up in the house for the weekend. I haven't been feeling well so I'm not in the mood to go around the malls. I like going around the malls to window shop and not for the 'shopping' itself. I'm not a serious shopper. But for those who are, if they can't go to an actual shopping mall, they can always do online shopping! There a thousands of stuff we can buy online like guitarcenter.com has kemper profiling amp to the smallest screw driver or bearing.

Anyways, I hope I would feel better tomorrow. I think I need to go out of the house and see some people. I think I'm already bored being inside for two days.

Long Weekend Gone

It was Chinese New Year holidays a few days ago and I can't believe that the long weekend has just gone so fast! I remember the time when I was so excited for the long weekend and I made a lot of plans for it. But it just came and gone in an instant! :) Maybe I just enjoyed the long weekend so much that I didn't want it to end. We had bowling, malling and a nice dinner on Friday, then went to Ikea on Saturday, hang out on our friends place on Sunday after Church, then rested the whole day on Monday. Well, for me that how a holiday is supposed to be spent. There's time spent on malling and going around different stores, time spent with friends and of course, time spent in the house doing a bit of house chores and relaxing. Oh, there's not such times like these.. hope more long weekends will come.

No Music Classes in School

My kids are going to school now. It's actually more of a homeschool learning center where they still use homeschool materials but they do in a classroom setting. My kids are really enjoying their 'school' experience with new friends and different physical activities every week. They have bowling, skating, water gun fights and etc. The only thing that I think is missing in their curriculum is music. I think we have to find our own music friend and let them learn what they want to learn. But overall, I'm still very thankful that my kids are happy with their new school.

The Marvel Of God's Grace

There are many recorded miracles throughout history, from the miracles written within the pages of the Old Testament to the miracles that go unnoticed in our lives each and every day. Each moment is a chance to encounter the divine, to see Jesus face to face, and to witness a miracle. Churches across the globe take note of extraordinary experiences, miraculous healings, and divine intervention every day. However, this largely goes unnoticed.

In modern times, many miracles, that have yet to be explained by modern science, speak of the wideness of God's grace. From cancer that mysteriously disappears without treatment to humans coming back to life without medical intervention, God is always at work. But are we ready to listen? Are we ready to make the changes needed to so that we can prepare to meet Jesus in person?

Recently God appeared, as he did in biblical times, coming down from heaven as an apparition within the clouds. The image was caught on camera and became the subject of controversy as hosts of the evening news debated its meaning. However, for some the message was clear. God is making his presence known. He loves us and desires a relationship with each and every one of us. If you witnessed such a miracle, how would you answer God's call?

Another miracle occurred when a young man from Georgia was shot and pronounced dead. Miraculously the boy came back to life and today lives gloriously retelling of God's mercy which raised him from the dead.

Miraculous events surround us each and every day. God's many miracles are how he is able to show himself to the world and allow us to know his presence. Through these close one-on-one encounters with the divine, God is able to change hearts and minds. Once a person has encountered the presence of Jesus in this close and personal way, they have a choice. They can either hand over their life to God and become a vessel for his change, or they can ignore his call. Again, how will you answer God's call?

Tour with my Cousins

My cousins are here for a visit. They're actually our first visitors from the Philippines and we're so excited! It's just a bit sad because I couldn't really go around with them the whole 4 days since I have work. But yesterday, I went on an unpaid leave and went touring around with them. So, we went to Putra Jaya and Ikea. We were supposed to go to all the other malls and look around to see the best best guitar store and stuff but we didn't have enough time. Anyways, we still had fun going around but I just wish I had more time with them.

We've been here for almost 3 months now. We have quite settled in here though not completely yet. But I thank God that though it's quite slow but surely, this place will soon become a "home" to us. I'm just so glad that the kids are happy and excited in their new homeschool centre. As for me, I'm still adjusting with work and honestly, quite overwhelmed with the 'new' things I'm going through. A lot of changes for me, for sure, especially with the fact that I'm not with the kids 24/7 and not to mention, no more sleeping late and sleeping in.. huhuh! Another very big adjustment is that I have to always 'think' with my new job. No more time for daydreaming and lazing around. It's like I'm back to school constantly thinking and meeting deadlines. But I'm sure through God's wisdom and help, I'll get use to this, once I've adjusted and learn my way around it. Now, I even like working with the music playing, without strobe tuners. Music makes me relax and be in the mood for work.

Anyways, I praise God for everything that's happening, I believe He has ordered everything for us. Though there are some adjustments here and there, but these are essential for our learning and growing experience. :)

Settling Down in Malaysia

It's our 3rd day here in Malaysia. Yes, 3 days out of the hundreds of not thousands of days that we will be here since we will be settling in Malaysia. It's an exciting time for our family at the same time 'scary' time too. It's just that feeling of not knowing what's ahead since we are on new ground. But rest assured, God is with us. I believe He has gone before us and our future are in His hands.

Found the Lost Bread

I've always been wanting to try out the overload shakes at the Lost Bread after reading reviews about them in Zomato. I've also heard about the great restaurants in Maginhawa St. and been planning to go there. It was only when my Hubby's prof. invited us for dinner at Friuli Trattoria that we finally set foot in that famous street.

Anyways, after a delicious dinner ( I'll post about that next time) at Friuli Trattoria, we decided to take a bit of a walk before riding a taxi. And lo and behold, the Lost Bread is just a few steps across the Fruili Trattoria. I was so excited. We accidentally found the Lost Bread! And even if we're still full from dinner, I dragged my family to the shop and ordered the Carousel overflow shake,

So there it is! The kids loved it.. and of course, I love it too! .. if only we were not leaving to Malaysia the next day.. I would want to go back to the restaurant over and over again.. and not to mention explore the other restaurants along Maginhawa too! There are book cafe's there, restaurants with live bands, small 2nd hand books shops and maybe even small specialty stores that sells a lot of things from mobile accessories to strings of a guitar.

It has been 3 months since I last posted in this blog, the last post was during the Christmas season and now it's already the Lenten season. The season that reminds us of the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus. For 2 days ( Maundy Thursday and Good Friday) most of the malls and establishments are closed. This will be the best time for us to pause, think and do some reflections. So, for today there's nothing much for us but just stay home, maybe we will just turn on some reflective music without jx , and just take time to rest and reflect.

Christmas Gifts

I know I've just said that my Christmas countdown will start right after my work is done, but it didn't mean that we won't be in a Christmas mood yet. :) So, the other day, we started wrapping up a few gifts. We realized that since we won't be here for Christmas, so we need to give our gifts earlier.

We just have simple gifts for a family and few friends but I hope they'll appreciate the gesture. As for Christmas gift shopping, I think this is really the best time to shop.There's a lot of mall sales going on and you can buy anything from books to powered snake.

17 Days Before Christmas!

It's 17 more days before Christmas! I'm excited, but not quite.. because I still have a lot of things to do before Christmas. I'm actually quite pressed for time, I have things to accomplish before Christmas plus we're also going to travel to Hubby's place. So, that means, I need to finish all my work before our trip. So, I can really get into the Christmas mood.

With the Christmas getting nearer, I actually feel a bit more apprehensive since it means my deadline is also getting nearer. So, my 'official' Christmas countdown will start after my work deadline. :)

New Home Address

We have a new home address and to date, this is the 3rd time we moved and the farthest. Imagine, moving from Thailand to the Philippines. This move has really been a big leap for us especially for our kids. But this is more like a temporary move since we will only be here for a few months.

So far, we have adjusted well and are enjoying our time here. Our kids have found new friends and I'm sure they will find it very difficult to leave next year. Anyways, we like our new home if you want to write us, you can send us a message for our new address. :) I also have musicians friend address if you're interested. ;)

A Big Celebration

Even if I've been in Malaysia several times, I still have a lot of things to learn and discover.

Just the other night, I thought there was a big celebration in a neighbor's house when they have a portion of the road closed with tables and chairs around. There was even a little stage where I imagined live bands with paf humbuckers. So, I thought there was a wedding or a birthday that's going to happen. But to my surprise, it's actually a wake of a funeral. And I thought events like these are supposed to be solemn and quiet. But as I compared with my experience in the Philippines, there are moments during the wake that's solemn and quiet but there are also moments that are noisy and joyful, especially during the times when all the relatives gather together. And what's more important is the solace and comfort that the bereaved family are getting from the friends and relatives around.

Magic Eye 3D

Our family recently went to the Magic Eye 3D museum here in Hat Yai and it was truly a fun experience! The exciting part of the experience is actually how you would act in front of the camera to make the drawing more real. It's good that our kids are also enjoy the make believe so they really enjoyed our tour. I was the 'official' photographer so I ended up getting confused at times as to who to shoot first as everyone's seemed to be in position ready for the camera.

If given a chance, we would visit 3D museums in different cities and locations. Anyways, before I go I still have to read what about mesa boogie 12ax7 is about.

Happy Chinese New Year to all my Chinese friends!

Even though if we're in the south of Thailand, we can still feel the celebration of the Chinese New Year here. Like in the Philippines, many of the businesses here are owned by Chinese-Thai businessmen and so during this week many of the restaurants and other shops will be closed.

The other night, we have seen a lot of families celebrating the New Year with parties, singing with or without instruments like hohner melodica, fireworks and food! Oh, I just remember our New Years celebration with family in the Philippines last year. I know this celebration must be a very big thing for our Chinese friends too just like how we celebrate Christmas in the Philippines.

Ways You Can Give Back During the Holidays

The holidays are a wonderful time of year when we can enjoy spending time with all of our friends and family. These are truly wonderful moments that should be treasured. However, not everyone is so fortunate around the holidays. Many people lack the basic essentials that they need to live a comfortable life. During the holidays, you should keep these less fortunate people in mind. There are many ways that you can put a smile on the faces of those people less fortunate than you. Bob Parsons, founder of GoDaddy, has been giving back to the community for many years. Here are a few ways you can give back during the holidays.

1. Make a charitable donation

You do not need to donate a large amount of money if you can not afford it. Every little bit counts. Find out what charities in your area are in the greatest need and donate your money to one or more of them. If you have a friend or family member who is passionate about a specific charity, make a donation in his or her name as a Christmas present. They will appreciate it and you will be doing a good deed at the same time.

2. Volunteer for a charity

This is a great alternative if you can not afford to make a financial donation. Donating you time will be just as valuable to the organization you decide to help out. Homeless shelters are always looking for people to load and unload trucks, set up tables and serve meals. You can go to your local hospital and read stories to children who are sick or in the burn unit. Doing this will enrich your life as much as it will theirs.

3. Donate some of your belongings

Along with donating your time and money, you can also look around your house for any items you are not using any longer. If you have children who have outgrown certain toys, these will make perfect donations for the toy drives that are held in many cities around the holidays. You can also donate some of your non-perishable food to you local homeless shelter. Before you throw anything away, take it to your local Salvation Army store to see if they are interested in it. If they accept any of your items, you will receive a tax deduction.

4. Have a bake sale

If you love to bake, you can have fun and give back at the same time. Get some of your friends and family members to donate various baked goods to sell at your bake sale. Cookies, bread and brownies are good ideas for items to bake. You can then take all of the money you make and donate it to a charity of your choosing.

5. Talk to elderly people

You can visit a retirement community to spend time with elderly people who don't have any friends or family to visit them during the holidays. These people are often extremely lonely, but this feeling of isolation usually increases around the holidays. If you go to a retirement community in your area, you will be greeted by people who are happy to see you. Just talking to them costs you absolutely nothing, but it will enhance their lives tremendously. You might also make a friend or two in the process.

My son turned 7 last week and he was really so excited about it. During his birthday, we just gave a small treat to his classmates in the midterm english workshop but we will have his birthday party this coming Sunday at sunday school.

As requested, we're going to have a Spiderman party and he also asked me to bake a Spiderman cake for him. So now, I'm cracking my head on how to make his spiderman cake as the 'samples' he showed me were just so complicated.

Teacher's Training

A few weeks ago, I attended a very helpful training. It's more like a teacher's training but its not limited to classroom teaching. It's teaching on a broader sense but the methods and tools that I've learned are really very good. We were also taught on how to design a learning curriculum. The steps where good and quite easy to apply. You can use the designs and tool anywhere from teaching english to teaching music with all the musical stuff like vox ac4 .

We are going to have a training at the end of next month and I'm excited to apply those learning too!

Christmas Wish List

Since Christmas is almost here and I'm so much in the mood to think about Christmas now, maybe I'll need to start making my Christmas wish list. It'll be good to think about what I really want to have before the year ends so that our purchases will be more intentional. You know those times when you plan to buy something for yourself and then you get some extra monetary blessings and then forget about your 'wish list' and then at the end of the day you realized you just spent your money on things that were not so important.

What's in your wish list? Would they be mesh drum heads or electric appliances?

While I'm doing my work in the computer, I'm listening to all these Christmas songs. Yes, Christmas mode is ON in this household! We're just so excited for the coming holidays as this is also the year when we will be going back home to celebrate it with our family. Now, I'm just waiting for KLOVE to have the Christmas songs channel. How many more days before Christmas?? :)

Making a Home Movie With Movavi’s Video Editing Software

· First you’ll have to download the installation file from the Movavi website and install the program.

You won’t have to worry if the software would support a certain file format because Movavi video editor supports almost all popular video and audio formats. Movavi video editor can also edit 3D video files, you’ll be able to edit 3D videos by clicking on “Add 3D” button.
· Storyboard and Timeline are two ways by which you can edit your videos in Movavi video editor. You can use the storyboard mode to either divide an existing video into two or join multiple videos and add various effects and transition effects. You’ll be able to do more advanced editing in the Timeline mode. Timeline lets you add audio, video and title tracks to your movie
· To make a movie in storyboard mode, you’ll have to drag and drop video files on the panel located at the bottom, after that you’ll have to arrange them by dragging.
· In the storyboard mode, you can add transition effects between two video clips by clicking on the “Fades” option, choosing an effect and dragging and dropping it between the two videos.
· If making a music video is what you have in mind then you’ll have to drag and drop your music files on the timeline board located at the bottom. You can make sound fade in and out by clicking on the “fade in/out” button, after that you’ll have to adjust the speed and volume of the sound.
· To add titles to your video you’ll have to click on the “Titles” icon and subsequently choose a style you like. after you’ve made your choice, you’ll have right click on it and choose the place where you want them to appear, you can choose to put them on a blank screen either before the start of your movie or after the end of it, you’ll have to click on either “add to the start of the video track” option or “add to the end of the video track” option. Or you can put the title over the video, in which case you’ll have to click on the “add to the title track” option. You can adjust the duration of appearance of the title by stretching it.
· After you’ve made the changes, you can save the file in any format you need.

Travelling Alone

I'm going for a women's conference next week which means I'm going to travel all by myself. I would very much prefer to travel with family but since I'm the only one going for the conference, it's more practical to go on my own.

Which means I'll be travelling my bus on my own. Hubby already bought my ticket and he made sure to get the morning bus so, I'll arrive at my destination before dark. My sure the bus i'll be riding has good headlights with xtralights installation guide but I guess it's really better to travel during the day.

Thinking about traveling by myself now feels a bit weird. After being married and with kids, this is only my 3rd time to travel without them. Anyways, I'll take this as an opportunity for a break from all the mommy and homeschool duties and I'll try to make the most out of it. :)

More Lights in our Patio

My handyman hubby strikes again! Recently he just made a set of DIY lights in our patio. This time he used small birdcages as 'lamps'. With more lights outside our house, it does seem our house is the brightest house in the neighborhood.

But with these extra yellow lights, our patio looks cozier and we even find ourselves hanging out there more often. Maybe next time we need to buy buy crinkle taffeta table linens here so, we can 'dine outside' and have a great time with family!

I'm grateful for today! It marks the ..th year here on earth! I'm grateful to God for all the experiences that I have for the past years. Indeed, I have seen how God has protected, provided and given us so much of His love and grace in my life. Of course, the past years haven't all be 'happy' ones but still I'm grateful for those sad moments, because it's through them that I learned to have faith, to trust and overcome.

I'm grateful to how GOd has molded me for the past years.. I'm grateful for the family, friends and loved ones that surround me. Thank You Lord and I give you all the glory, honor and praise! :)
