Participants at Lambs Farm are enjoying a vibrant and creative spring as they begin a new term of exciting Quest classes and enriching experiences. From hands-on learning to community outings, there is something inspiring happening every day. 

 The popular Mystery Guest class has featured a variety of exciting surprise performances, including a magician, musicians, and more. Participants are also exploring new skills such as airbrush techniques while visiting local coffee shops, libraries, and museums. In the Your Vision Design Studio, creativity continues to grow as participants collaborate to design fun logos and merchandise together.

 At LF Studios, artists are creating beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces each day. Their latest project is a new 65th anniversary mosaic tree created for our 65th anniversary branding video. It is a stunning piece, and it was put together start to finish in just two weeks. This accomplishment highlights their creativity, teamwork, and talent. 

 In addition to large group projects, participants are crafting a wide variety of items, including flower bookmarks, resin bowls, pour paintings, soaps, and more. Their artwork is available for purchase at Lambs Farm businesses, and we are excited to host the first LF Studios Summer Sale on Thursday, June 25, and Friday, June 26 at LF Studios from 9am to 3pm, where guests can meet the artists, explore and purchase their latest creations. 

 As Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month comes to a close, we’re excited to shine a light on one of our newest residents, Kevin!

Kevin has already made a wonderful impression at Lambs Farm and is a valued member of the Magnolia Cafe & Bakery team. As a proud busser, he plays an important role in keeping things running smoothly. From greeting guests with a warm smile to serving drinks, setting up banquets, and jumping in wherever help is needed, Kevin brings a positive energy to everything he does.

One of the things that makes Kevin so special is his joyful spirit. He’s known for always having a smile on his face, and if you catch him at the right moment, you might even see him dancing once his work is done. His enthusiasm is contagious and adds something truly special to the guest experience.

Outside of work, Kevin enjoys staying active and having fun. He loves listening to rock music, playing basketball, trying new Quest classes, and keeping busy with activities that bring him joy.

Kevin has a bright future ahead, and we’re so grateful to be part of his journey. His positivity, work ethic, and willingness to try new things are just a few of the many reasons we’re so excited to see all that he will accomplish.

What an amazing night at our very first Paint & Sip at LF Studios! Even with less than perfect weather, the evening was filled with creativity, connection, and so many smiles.

Art Instructor Kelly did a fantastic job guiding guests step by step as they created a beautiful spring painting. Everyone enjoyed drinks served by our amazing bartender Robbie, along with delicious charcuterie from the Magnolia Cafe & Bakery.

Guests were welcomed by MJ and Brayanna, who greeted visitors and gave tours of the studio. They also shared a special behind the scenes look, giving guests a chance to learn more about the history of LF Studios and how the program began.

Throughout the evening, guests had the opportunity to shop a wide variety of incredible artwork created by our talented artists. It was such a huge success, with at least 30 pieces of art sold!

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening so memorable. A special thank you to Helen, Kelly, and Jody for the countless hours of hard work and care that went into planning this event, and to everyone involved in making it such a success.

As we continue celebrating Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, we’re proud to shine a spotlight on Lambs Farm participant Brooke and the joy she brings to our community.

Brooke joined Lambs Farm nearly four years ago and quickly discovered her passion for working with animals, especially those in our Farmyard. She takes great pride in caring for them—cleaning cages, ensuring their well-being, and building meaningful connections along the way. One of her most special bonds is with her favorite goat, Pidge.

With the Farmyard currently closed for renovations, daily routines have shifted and the animals are being cared for in different locations. Brooke has adapted wonderfully to these changes, continuing to provide exceptional care while making sure each animal feels safe and loved. Her flexibility and dedication have been truly inspiring as we all look forward to reopening in the coming months.

Outside of her work with animals, Brooke enjoys spending time with her family and staying active in a variety of ways. She volunteers, plays golf and basketball, and participates in Quest classes—especially cooking and diamond art. She also loves crafting with beads, showcasing her creativity and attention to detail.

Brooke is especially grateful for the friendships she has built at Lambs Farm and the support she receives from staff. She enjoys having a wide range of activities to choose from and finds happiness in each day.

We are incredibly proud of Brooke and all that she has accomplished. We look forward to seeing everything she will continue to achieve as part of the Lambs Farm community.

March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, and we are continuing our participant spotlight series by recognizing Lambs Farm participant Jeff.

Jeff has lived at Lambs Farm for over a decade and is a proud employee at the Dogwood Garden & Pet Center. In his role, Jeff helps with laundry, making sure towels and blankets are neatly cleaned and organized. He also assists with dishes, beds, grates, and cages, helping keep every space clean and comfortable for the rescue animals.

Jeff’s strong attention to detail and dedication to keeping things tidy truly make a difference each day. His work supports the care and wellbeing of the animals, and his commitment reflects the values Lambs Farm has carried forward since its founding. As we celebrate 65 years of service, we know our co-founders, Bob Terese and Corrine Owen, would be proud to see the impact participants like Jeff continue to make.

When Jeff is not at work, he stays active in an impressive way. He is a five-sport athlete through Special Olympics, participating in softball, bowling, bocce, floor hockey skills, and basketball skills.  Jeff maintains a consistent workout routine and typically exercises five days a week.

Whether he is competing in sports or working at Dogwood, Jeff always shows great sportsmanship and a positive attitude. One of the best moments is seeing him smile proudly whenever he receives an award, no matter what place he earns.

Jeff’s dedication, work ethic, and positive spirit make him an important part of the Lambs Farm community, and we are proud to celebrate him during Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month.

March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, a time to recognize the contributions, achievements, and experiences of individuals with developmental disabilities. At Lambs Farm, we celebrate our participants every day, but this month offers a special opportunity to reflect on their incredible journeys as we also celebrate 65 years of service.

To begin our participant spotlight series, we are proud to recognize Wynn, who is celebrating an extraordinary milestone this year: 50 years at Lambs Farm.

Wynn, who is deaf, initially faced challenges communicating with others when she first arrived at Lambs Farm. When she began working at Lambs Industries, her supervisor Charles worked closely with her to develop ways for her to succeed. Together, they used tools such as communication boards to help her navigate tasks and build confidence in the workplace.

It didn’t take long for Wynn’s remarkable attention to detail and dedication to stand out. Through projects involving hand assembly, packaging, sealing, and labeling, she quickly demonstrated an impressive ability to focus and complete even the most meticulous tasks. Over time, she became one of the fastest packers, earning a reputation for her precision and strong work ethic.

When LF Studios opened, it introduced Wynn to a completely new creative outlet. While trying something new can be challenging, Wynn embraced the opportunity. Her creativity quickly began to shine, and today LF Studios instructors regularly see her participating in art classes with enthusiasm. She follows routines with confidence, engages with staff and fellow participants, and takes pride in the pieces she creates. Nothing compares to seeing Wynn’s big smile as she works on her artwork.

Everyone who knows Wynn has been amazed by the transformation she has experienced since discovering the world of art.

Wynn’s journey is a powerful testament to growth, resilience, and the impact of meaningful support. We are incredibly proud of everything she has accomplished over the past 50 years and look forward to seeing what she achieves next.

Cookies for Canines was a pawsome way to kick off Lambs Farm’s 65th anniversary, bringing together our community and their sweet pups for a fun-filled celebration. Guests and their dogs enjoyed decorating dog treats with dog-safe frosting and colorful sprinkles, creating plenty of tail-wagging moments throughout the event. Visitors also had the opportunity to shop fun new products and spend time exploring Lambs Farm while celebrating this special milestone year. Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us and helped make Cookies for Canines such a memorable start to our anniversary celebrations.

2026 is off to a great start at Lambs Farm! We’re celebrating 65 years of service, and we kicked off the fun with puppies and our favorite tradition—the annual Lambs Farm Holiday Party! This event is a favorite for all, and thanks to Board Member Karen Lieberman. It has been a highlight for 33 years and counting. Participants, families, and staff love coming together to reflect on our accomplishments and see what’s ahead in 2026. With anniversary celebrations, new events, the farmyard reopening this spring, and our gala in the fall, we certainly have a lot to look forward to! Before ringing in the new year, we wrapped up another busy and exciting holiday season. Hannah’s Hallmark Bingo sold out for the third year in a row, and our much-loved Breakfast with Santa event was a big hit. Guests enjoyed a delicious brunch, holiday crafts, and the chance to meet Santa himself in our beautiful Greenhouse, which was transformed into a winter wonderland. Participant artists at LF Studios also introduced their holiday ornaments and other festive products, which made amazing gifts. They have big plans for the year ahead as they continue to expand their offerings, so be sure to visit our businesses to see and purchase their latest work. 

Speaking of gifts, the Sugar Maple Country Store & Bakery staff had another record-breaking season! Participant bakers worked together to bake, decorate, package, and ship our delicious cookies, chocolates, and gift assortments across the country. Between October and December, our small but mighty shipping team of four sent more than 6,000 packages. It’s a perfect example of our motto: teamwork makes the dream work! We’re grateful to our dedicated staff and generous volunteers for helping us power through and have fun during our busiest time of year.

Participants across the Farm also had a blast putting on a fashion show, visiting reindeer farms, and hosting Secret Santa parties. From Quest classes, sports competitions to job exploration and new skill-building opportunities, there’s a wide variety of choices as participants set goals and plan for the year ahead . There truly is something for everyone at Lambs Farm, and we hope you’ll join us at an upcoming event or stop by our businesses to experience the magic for yourself!
