Ok everyone...our mini hiatus is over and we are over the moon with what is to come. We took the week off to make some major changes that we hope you will love as much as we do. We are changing platforms and we have given the blog a new fresh look. There will be more detail on what we went through this week on ...THE NEW BLOG!!

It will be the same blog, same name and the same content...just better!

The most important things for us is that all of you come along for the ride and meet us on the other side. Sadly we decided to move out of blogger but we think that it will be for the better. It is bitter sweet since this is where we started back when we were still Pink Peony. There is only moving forward from here.

Starting tomorrow you will be re-directed to our new .com site. We hope to see you all there for a visit. Please stop by and say hi or even a "follow" would be nice =)

Pretty in Pink Wedding! {Reminiscing}

Before we began Lambs & Kings, we coordinated wedding events for lovely couples with lovely weddings. Last year, we had the pleasure of coordinating a drop dead gorgeous wedding in Aptos, Ca at the the Pacific Estate and Vineyard. It was a cute country chic estate that had a small vineyard and a large lawn and patio that overlooked the Santa Cruz mountain scenery. It was a perfect setting for vintage inspired chic wedding which is exactly what our clients were dreaming of. My bride is super creative and dreamt up the whole event and knew exactly what she wanted from the shades of pink, to the collected vintage glass, vintage typewriter guestbook, and tons of crafty projects! Everything was meticulously thought out.

We were so giddy to find out that this wedding was featured on Style Me Pretty yesterday!! Its not a surprise as the event was so beautiful and photog Stephan Pappas did a superb job capturing it and Nicole Ha created a beautiful feel with her stunning florals. The entire team was great. This is just a small peek. Give them some love on the SMP site! Seeing these images reminds me how much fun we had doing weddings and working with all our awesome clients and vendors...seriously, all of them are awesome. We definitely do miss it. However, since we are super busy with the business re branding process, and the possibility of going back to school and/or starting a family, we had to put it on hold this year. We are planning to start styling events and doing prop design soon with the focus more on intimate events such as smaller/intimate weddings (such as this one), parties and showers and photo shoots. Stay tuned!

Terrarium Update

As promised, we built our little terrarium this past weekend. The hubs and I have wanted to add some greenery to our home and given that the both of us do not a have a particularly green thumb, making a cute lovely terrarium was a great solution. Above is my first succulent terrarium... I'm super smitten over it! It now lives on one of our side tables in the living room next to a nice little window. I followed the diy from Birdhouse, which I mentioned last week. We used the open face terrarium bowl we bought from west elm because it had nice space to put different plants and it was easy to use with it's wide open face. I figure, its my first one so I need to make this as simple as possible.

I collected all my materials which included a glass container, pebbles, active charcoal (can get at a pet store. Its used in aquariums), succulent soil and an assortment of succulent plants.

It was pretty easy to make. First you put a layer of pebbles in, then mix in some active charcoal, put your soil on top of that mixture and then place your plants as you please...and voila!!

The total project cost me about $40 but I have all material to make up to 3 more terrariums ( i bought too many succulents and the bag of soil and carton of charcoal gives you a ton) so after I make those 3 it will come out to be about $10 a terrarium. This is definitely a budget friendly project that makes a lovely gift for someone or if you are just looking for a low maintenance way to add some lovely green to your home.

Get your hands Dirty: Terrarium

This weekend, I am planning on getting my hands a little dirty and doing some planting and gardening. On my to do list is finally making a succulent terrarium for the house. I'm trying to spruce up my green thumb and I'm thinking this low maintenance project will be the right start. I've scoured the Internet researching instruction, care tips, and creative ideas for a terrarium. Succulents have a such a special place in my heart and they always look so cute and lovely so I have decided to use succulents over other plants such as tillandsia (air plants). You can choose to do any kind of terrarium and from all the research I've done, it seems like the same type of materials are needed. Check them out below

Make the Terrarium your own by choosing a unique container. There are tons of options. I personally love cloches and West elm's wide selection of terrarium glassware.

As for the "How To", here is the diy that I am following from Birdhouse Diy + Design. I chose one that was simple and straightforward. Be sure to read the care and watering instructions. Very helpful! Feel free to share ones that have been successful for you.

Today I am wearing a black and white print dress with a scoop neck bodice top and A-line skirt. I wanted to add some separation and definition by adding a belt and was looking for my bright Yellow belt...which unfortunately...I couldn't find!! So I settled for a braided brown leather belt instead. I hate compromising my outfit =( This made me come to think of where I can get some great bright colored belts since the only one had is nowhere to be found. Getaway: San Diego

This past weekend, the hubby and I escaped to our Home away from Home: San Diego.

Beach time, waves and ocean breeze, shopping, foodie-ness, bright colored outfits, local art....was just what this girl needed.

We ate at a bunch of new places...SD is always popping up with newer and yummier places to sip and eat. We tried a cute brunch place called cafe chloe in downtown. One night we opted for a much needed dose of lucha libre mexican food. The other evening we chose Urban Solace for our wining and dining experience. This place is tucked away in trendy North park and has a great ambiance and wonderful food.

I decided to try the pork belly entree and Daniel got the chicken and dumplings. We snacked on their cheddar biscuits with yummy herb butter....Those biscuits were amazing and my pork belly was the best I ever had. I would recommend this place for a great dinner out. We had a private table but they also promote communal dining where you can share a table with other smaller parties. We thought that, that was pretty fun. I have to point out that there was a glaring art piece of Ron Burgundy (Anchorman) behind the bar...this was actually my favorite part!

To end our night and walk off the wine, we strolled through the "Ray St. @ Night" art walk. and listened to live indie music with their own dancing kids. All the art studios were open for any of our art viewing pleasures. I got really drawn to the geodes and rocks that were popping up in a lot of the galleries. I couldn't resist and bought a piece of green calcite which is the stone of "Letting go and moving on" and very cool piece of petrified wood which was collected and polished by artist "Orion Jewelry & Lapidary". He travels all over to collect pieces and cut and polish them to make dramatic pieces. The hubby was super sweet and bought me a handmade blue octopus patina necklace made by Zedena Designs. Her work was displayed in the Striving Artist Gallery where they showcase local artists. She actually made the octopus by hand by making her own mold. This piece is so fun and I love why Daniel thought of buying it for me. He says, an octopus reminds him of me because I am always doing so many things at once, have different projects going on and am able to balance it all. Such a sweety!

Isn't the octopus cute?! Such a fun weekend! San Diego will always be a home to us. So I hear the weather here in Northern Cali will be beautiful...Here's to another great weekend. What do you have planned?

Try it Out-fit: Long Cardigans and Shorts

Pairing a long cardigan with some sexy and flattering shorts is perfect for spring. You get to show a little leg while staying demure and a little bit warmer up top (for those sometimes chilly+sunny days). I was inspired by OPs look pictured above (looove her) and hopefully you try this outfit style yourself.

One tip: make sure the sweater hits below the hem of the shorts and pair with some demure heels...not too high.

I would love to wear a bold cardigan with some neutral shorts and blouse with a played down heal.

Who doesn't love a great arm party?! layer up your bling, add some color and get creative. I love Tory Burch's leather wrap bracelets with the right amount of gold detail and color options...its perfect for layering and mixing with your chunky metals. Kate Spade has a vibrant array of bangles and bracelets. All of them look so chic and fun!

Forever 21 has so many bracelets and all at an affordable price. They range from tribal, to edgy, to modern and all under $10. Cant beat that. I love Stella and Dot's selection of arm candy as well. They have a ton of high end style with affordable price tags.

I'm sure you have all seen the friendship bracelet trend that has been going around...and for good reason! they are a great way to add an effortless and nostalgic feel to any fancy outfit and not to mention all the great diy projects that result in shop worthy pieces. Joyus & HD Buttercup Event

This past Tuesday, I had the privilege of attending the Joyus + HD Buttercup event @ the HDB headquarters in SF. Joyus is a revolutionary online shopping experience that harnesses the power of video to reach out to their customers and make the shopping experience more personal. It was an event to celebrate the launch of Joyus' home edition as well as their first annual designer challenge. They challenged 7 well known designers to make over a bare room using items that were pre-selected from HD Buttercup. Have you heard of HD Buttercup?...Well let me tell you! this is a furniture, home design, eye candy heaven.

we walked into the event and I was instantly taken away by all the layout, the wonderful, genius design and the seemingly endless amounts of home decor and furniture. We were greeted by an enormous plate wall, which I couldn't help but look at. There was open bar with flowing champagne, a clever concoction called "Joyus Juice" which was joyously delicious with peach, lime, vodka and jalapenos...yummy!

There was so much to see and so much to look at but the highlight of my night was getting to meet and talk to Erin Hiemstra the creator of Apartment 34. I'm such a big fan of her blog! Erin was one of the designers who participated in Joyus' Designer Challenge. Watch her transform her room here! and don't forget to vote. She is such a great down to earth person. I'm hoping to connect more with her and other local bloggers in the future.

Joyus and HDB definitely put on a great event. Great space, great people, great activities like a design your own room photo booth. They had a table of all these home accessories and a blank room space. You had one minute to decorate it however you want and then talk about your design and take photo in your room. It was pretty fun...a lot of pressure though lol! Did I mention that they had free food trucks there that were serving some bite size snacks? It was great!

I would highly recommend checking out HD Buttercup if you are looking for unique, great quality pieces for your home...or even if you need a little inspiration and don't forget to look for awesome finds and shopping events at Joyus.

My Bookshelf: Meet the Newest Members

Yesterday the hubby surprised me with some awesome new additions to our bookshelf...I guess he does pay attention to all the blabbing I do about my blog world because he picked up on how much I have really wanted the Design Sponge @ home book. With all of its fresh ideas and style, I'm so excited to dig into this new coffee table book which now sits aside my Domino Book.

He also picked up a copy of the "stylists guide to NYC" which was something I bumped into when we went to antrhopologie recently. We are going to NYC this summer and he thought I might find it handy. It is geniusly and beautifully put together and is a great guide for anyone that just adores NYC and wants to see more than just the everyday nuances. It gives you tips and places to go for things like hardware, jewelry, antiques, places to eat, odd facts etc with a stylists, lifestyle and interiors point of view. I told him that he might have made the biggest mistake because now I will be dragging him with me all over town using this book.

I love collecting books...both to read and to display. I have quite a few on my want list. On my "Cant wait" list, I have the Cupcakes and Cashmere book which is coming out this year. You can pre-order it on Amazon...which I did! Also cant wait for the Cannelle et Vanille Cookbook which is also coming out this year. This is one of my favorite food blogs because her recipes are simple and home grown and her photos are oh so lovely!

On my "Want" list, you have the Coveted Chanel Collections book, Vogue covers, Nostalgia in Vogue, Vogue Living, Elle Decor....it keeps going

Closet Addition: Flowy Electric Pleats

Spring has sprung and Easter is just around the corner. If you are looking to add some new versatile flavor to your closet look no further. I think every closet should have at least one electric pleat skirt or dress (both is good too!) in a flowy & flouncy material. I personally love chiffon skirts. Its perfect for this season, the styles, lengths and color choices are endless. To top it off, they are very comfy and the pressed pleats make any outfit look polished. I personally need to find a pleated maxi for my closet. You can go simple and casual and tuck in your favorite tee into the skirts, go on a date and spruce it up with a statement blouse, foxy heels and your favorite clutch, or go to work and pair those dresses with a sharp blazer and pumps. A lot of the skirts & dresses I used in this design board, are reasonably priced... and those that are not, well, I am sure similar styles can always be found for much less...I'm all about that! so go get one!

Happy Hunger Games!

Yes it is finally here! Have you read the book? are you part of the throngs of people who have gotten addicted to what is the Hunger Games?...I am definitely one of them.

Seriously, go check it out...it's a great story about morality, relations, and has lots of good drama...and is wickedly twisted. I have been anticipating the movie ever since I finished the whole series and I am so excited to see it at a private screening tomorrow with my family. No long lines for this girl!

It will be interesting to see all the fashion and styling used in this movie and to pass the time, this slow Friday afternoon, I couldn't help but conjure up my own Hunger Games inspiration boards. BTW, the awesome pin featured above is from etsy artist the bird the bee, its sold out...obviously, but keep checking for their restock.

I saw this print on etsy and i just cant stop looking at it. It would be a perfect piece to have above our bed or included in our gallery wall. You can get the print on etsy for $35...not too shabby.
When I look at it I feel all giddy inside probably because the colors make me feel as if spring is just around the corner...Can you tell I'm ready for spring?

I just had to come up with an inspiration board to get me ready. I will def be adding more of these colors to the wardrobe this season, and I cant help but think of ways to incorporate these into my house as well. Hope you enjoy the fun little board I made.

Happy Valentines Day everyone!

Here is my Lust List inspired by today's day of Love. I am very happy say that I can cross something off this list. Hubby and I do not celebrate V-day on Feb 14th. We celebrate either a few days before or after because we just don't want to be a part of the overpriced crowds and festivities. Well, we celebrated on Sunday with a little brunch and jaunt in the city and he surprised me with a pair of hot pink TB Cline flats (pictured above)...I was extremely excited! A Sweet Heart Day

Adventures of a Shopper

The best feeling ever is when you feel like you totally scored on a shopping trip...am I right girls? Its when the pieces without a doubt belong in your closet and you know it the moment you pick up that piece off the rack. The best part...is when you get all of it for a killer deal.

Well I had just that giddy experience when I went for a lunch time jaunt over to the nearby by (a little too nearby for wallet safety) Marshalls...yup, I shop there...all the time in fact! and my wallet and wardrobe cannot thank me enough. Hubby still shakes his head though :-/ Its a great place to get pieces that can spruce up your closet and I especially like going there for needed wardrobe basics...If you go at the right time, you can actually get top end designers at a really great price. you just need to be in the mood and have the patience to scan through the somewhat un-organized racks.

I went with a couple of my coworkers just to get out and mingle and shop...not really wanting or needing anything to buy. Within minutes I scoop up a bunch of neutral colored blouses, chiffon, lace, crochet details....and I'm think "good start". I peruse through a few racks and find some striped polyester collared blouses...Ooo "perfect for work or weekending" throw a belt around it and I'm set. Lastly, I head to the pant section and find a comfy pair of Levis 501 straight leg jeans (love Levi's and I like to keep my jeans simple with a straight or boot cut). I turn around to the next rack and see a total score for me! a pair of Kelly green cigarette pants! Gawk! I was just gushing over them the other day in my post on "Going Green" and I actually have started seeing them pop up in photos, ads, and blogs all over the place. The coolest part is that I got them for a mere $16.99... (10x better than the $150 I was contemplating spending) and they are super comfy. I Snapped a photo once i tried them on in the fitting room because I just had to share. The super bright lights bordering the mirror make them look a tad brighter than they really are and they look kind of teal in the photo. But in real life, I love the color. Do you like?

Pick me up Accessories

Happy Monday people!! Its hard coming back to work on a Monday isn't it? I decided to give myself a little pick me up from the "case of the Mundays" and share with you all the cutesy accessories I have been stock piling in my image files waiting for the day that I can acquire each and every one of them =)

You may rock awesome style within your wardrobe but what about your accessories? Are the items in your purse as stylish as the purse itself? Or what about your office or tech accessories? I absolutely love it when I see adorable and well styled accessories..... It's always in the details right?

I currently started a new job and I'm in the process of trying to spruce up my workspace. I want cute pens, folders, project notebooks etc. I'm also contemplating what cute laptop bag I can get for carrying my work computer. Great accessories are a total pick me up from drabby monotone office spaces and have proven to be a total motivator in doing my work! Increased productivity! Who wouldn't want to go to meetings if you get to whip out your pastel color block pens from kikkerland ($6 for the set) and take meeting notes on your Kate spade Debra planner!

Imagine returning to your desk with a lovely Tory burch mousepad!

Are you a tech accessory hog like myself? Then you must have a stylish case for all your accessories! I actually have this pink case mate for my iPad and I love it. In fact I'm typing out this post on it right now.

And what would an accessory post be without me posting pictures of lovely purses in which I would love to carry all of these accessories in? Pictured below is the Pippa Modalu satchel in Shark. It is indeed named after one of my fav ladies Pippa Middleton. It's always sold out so get on the wait list like me. And isn't that minty Emporio Armani just to die for? So wanting!

Going Green

One can say that I definitely go through color phases with my style and my aesthetics at home. Right now, I am particularly gushing over all the green I have been seeing. Particularly the emerald and Kelly greens. The color is so bright and eye catching yet it is so refined! Its one of those colors that makes me feel instantly classy. I may not have a pic of the whole outfit above but I definitely want! Paired with gold... you get instant glam!

Or you can go big and go sparkly!

Both Kelly and Emerald green are great for all you color blocking fanatics out there! I'm certainly one of them. I particularly love pairing with neutrals like the picture below or with navy blue. But, I can see some of you go even further with these lovely greens. These pants certainly would do well in any color blockers wardrobe!

I have a shorter version of this blazer and I absolutely love it! It's an instant pick me up to any casual "head out in jeans" outfit.

Speaking of emerald green, these Bracco earrings from shopbop are absolutely adorable with its vintage inspired design.

Adding luscious green accents to your home decor will definitely do the trick in bringing some sophisticated eye catching eye candy to any living space. I love how it pops amongst neutrals, blacks and whites... I Spy green pillows on the side!
