Worth Your Time?? & Knowing Your Worth!!

2009-02-20T19:49:00.000-08:00

As you get older, you just don't have the patience for bull shit, it’s just not something that you want to deal, let alone, have it around you. This is something as I get older that I find myself pondering over. Is this worth my time? I even say this with people, is it worth my time spending to get to know this person, or how much do I want to invest myself. Time is something you realize is so precious and valuable that it’s just too invaluable to let slip away. With that being, said I also realize that it is so much more worth it to spend time doing things you love, it’s just better time spent. Which I have finally realized after how long. LOL! It takes me a awhile to figure things out.

On another note the Chris Brown & Rhianna situation has been the topic of every news outlet and on practically on every channel. What surprises me the most, are things are have been said among people, especially black folks. Every black person, have said that she ( Rhianna) provoked it, she's crazy. Um, WHAT!!
This response was crazy to me and very gross, I don't care what that girl did, she didn't deserve to be beat down like that. It's really still amazing to me, that this pervasive, machismo of the man almost having the right and is expected to beat his woman whether she deserves it or not. It's this mentality of I am going to keep my woman in check! It’s crazy. Poor Rhianna, a young woman that is worth millions of dollars and caught up in domestic violence.
Sure this happened to a famous couple, but this happens to other classes and races as well, it’s just not as widely reported. It’s sad. What was more sad to me was the response to this story, and in the 21st century, that woman are still looked as appendages, or degrading pieces of meat.

It’s not easy. As time goes on, you know what you will put up with or won't. It took me awhile, but I finally know that I am worth it!!

I hope other young women will see in time, he ain't worth a dime, if he's beating your behind.

LOVING LIFE..Cheers!

Happy Holloween!!

2008-10-29T21:04:00.000-07:00

I don't really enjoy Holloween as much in my adult life, its really boring and another commercialized holiday, just like all of the holidays. Its really just another day for me! But I do remember the times when I was grammar school that was the day, you would all of the candy that you wanted at school or a party. We would cake, play games, and listen to music, and make nice with everyone, even Suzy Q that constantly picked her bugga. Just for today you would make nice, and then go back to hating her tomorrow. I also remember watching the Charlie Brown speacials, on Holloween too. I like Charlie Brown. Okay, that's all for me!!

Okay Happy Holloween, and may your stomach hurt in the morning.

Cheers!!!

Lassy Come Home!

2008-10-27T21:22:00.000-07:00

A dog save four newborn kittens yesterday in a burning fire.

Really he wouldn't leave their side, until they were rescued. Now that is a dog that dervers A bone! He saved the little pussy cats, and was called a hero.

Nice story indeed, and its right on time with all the misery and dimsal news that is coming out of today's media.

But really, Lassy, don't bother coming home, by the that time, the house will be up for sale or foreclosed or we won't have the money to pay the bills anyway....

Roof!!

Cheers!!

AIG TO FREEZE SEVERANCE PAY!!!

2008-10-22T13:25:00.000-07:00

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Troubled insurer American International Group Inc will freeze payments to a former CEO and officers of the unit that was the main source of its financial problems, New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo said on Wednesday.

"This is to confirm that AIG has agreed to freeze any payments pursuant to the employment package of its former Chief Executive Officer Martin Sullivan in light of the attorney general's ongoing review," according to the letter from Andrew Cuomo to CEO Edward Liddy, which was reviewed by Reuters.

Why was severance pay even offered. Those executives deserve hot tar poured on them with with feathers and they need be running around so we can cut their heads OFF!!

A little extreme I know.

But really, they fail one of the largest insurance companies in the world, where thousands if not millions of people have lost their pensions, their bottom to their businesses and even their LIVES. Yet somehow they allowed (these executives/CEO's) are allowed severance PAY! Where is the JUSTICE!!

I forget there is NONE!!!

I am going to go sit on the Craper NOW!

Michael Vick Pleads Guilty? What!!! REALLY!!!!

2008-10-21T18:08:00.001-07:00

I don't know why after serving nearly half his sentence that he would plead guilty now. What's the point????. He's in fucking JAIL!!!!.

Which by the way, I think I am the only person on this planet who thought it was STUPID to send him to jail for dog fighting.

Okay, its inhuman, okay,YES, the dogs will get hurt. BUT HE DIDN'T COMMIT MURDER HERE.!!!! They took away the man's livelihood, stripped his dignity and his sponsors for dog fighting.???? I just didn't get it. I still don't. Now he pleads guilty and will get out early for good behavior. I don't why this wasn't offered to him in the first place.

I know this is cliche as all HELL! But I do feel, that society is always trying to keep a good brotha down. In this case a good looking STupid Brotha that didn't use his common sense!!!. But what can you say, at least he'll learn to just stick to playing FOOTBALL next time.

Until next time

Cash Rules Everything Around ME: Dollar Dollar Bill Y'all!!!

2008-10-07T15:30:00.000-07:00

Americans have lost 2 Trillion dollars from their retirement savings in the Past 15 Months!!

Congress' top budget analyst estimated Tuesday as lawmakers began investigating how turmoil in the financial industry is whittling away workers' nest eggs.

What the hell is going On!! Now Grandpa Ray, and Aunt Mae Mae, can't retire anymore because of the failed bank crisis and the soon to be economic recession. It's a hot mess, and I don't know how much worse it could get!!! CAN YOU!!

The country is under financial duress and being led by a less than intelligent president, that I can't wait to see go!!

That is a lot of money to go down the drain. Oh, yeah and the bailout can't do a thing to get these people's retirement money back because, its going toward banks and businesses and not the American people.

I got a headache, maybe, if I take a load off on the strip pole, I will feel better and might even make some money$$$$$$$$$$. Its a thought. LOL!

OJ DID IT!! AGAIN!!!

2008-10-04T16:47:00.001-07:00

I know Johnny Cochran is turning in his grave right NOW!!

This time, he doesn't have my sympathy, even though, I do feel sorry for him a bit. What were you doing in Las Vegeas, going after people with guns, allegedly going after your stolen memorabilia??? All you had to do is retire and be there for your kids. That is the irony of it all. He gets off Scott free for murder, and goes to jail for something so trivial. You live and you learn. I guess he didn't learn.

You know what they say, Idle hands are the devil's workshop. The devil was working overtime with OJ, and OJ should have seen it coming.

Sara Palin??? NOT!!!

2008-10-04T16:26:00.000-07:00

The Vice Presidential Debate was the most watched in history since...EVER!
70 Million people watched their television to see if Sara Palin would fuck up!!

But guess what, she didn't, but, she sure didn't change my MIND!! What was that about, being cute, and winking at the fucking TV??. Who the fuck are you winking at!! And why was she dodging the fucking questions!! She kept going back to ENERGY!! ENERGY~~!!

Guess FUCKING WHAT!!! ITS THE ECONOMY STUPID!!! She looked plastic, had a veneer finish to her, and well put together with her designer classes. But no substance and nothing really to say. This chick from Alaska on a bridge to no where, and I don't have the time to figure her out.

The Bill collector's at my door, and he's threaten to sue me if I don't pay up!!

ITS THE ECONOMY STUPID!!!!

OBAMA 08!!!

WTF is Going ON!!! Greed!!!

2008-10-02T22:03:00.000-07:00

In the late 90's and early 2000's where corporate greed ran rampant. The Ceos of Enron, Adelphi, Tyco and MCI were considered monsters. How could they? How could they loot their own company and raid the 401k's of their employees that planned to retire on their hard earned savings? Even Martha Stuart was caught in the web for unloading unvalued stocks and went to jail for it.

Now this, our banks are going belly up left and right due to bad investments, or they blame the glut of defaulted loans on bad mortgages.

Week after week a new bank is going up in smoke, the biggest shocker were the once considered bed rocks of the financial market, Lehman Brothers, a 158 year old financial investment Bank and Merrill Lynch was one of the world's leading financial management and advisory companies, providing financial advice and investment banking services. NOT ANYMORE!!! Just today, Washington Mutual bit the dust, bought by JP MORGAN CHASE.

Where are the People's bail out money for GREEDY CEO's that thought the party was never going to end, and they get to walk away with their ceo packages worth millions and still travel in their private jets and vacation in FIJI.

I have a financial headache. Let me take two pills called Bailout and call me in the morning.

Every time I hear that crap in the news I think of the movie Wall Street

Wall Street features Charlie Sheen as a young stockbroker desperate to succeed and a wealthy but unscrupulous corporate raider Michael Douglas whom he idolizes.

SHE'S A GIRL!!!

2008-08-31T22:47:00.001-07:00

So John McCain decided to pick a female running mate after he witnessed the success of the Democratic Convention. He did this not because he has a dream for Americans or women or anyone except John McCain being in the history books. The man has no passion except to be a part of history and to make his wife the first lady. John McCain chose Palin because he thought that he could attract the disillusioned Hillary voters and that is the only reason he chose her. A ploy to win a game that he really does not appreciate the significance of because if he did he would have realized that at his present age a Vice President is a much more important decision than just a cheap way to get some votes. There is a greater chance John McCain's veep would have to step in than Obama's veep would have to. Yet McCain treated this position the way he treats the idea of being President, it is something to be won so he can carry on with the Bush years and there is nothing more to his platform or ideals than that.
Furthermore, in choosing Palin he insulted every woman who backed Hillary Clinton. He said to them,"here I have another female for you; sure she doesn't have the same ideology, or the same democratic beliefs that Clinton does but you women don't care about that stuff you just wanted a woman right?". Also if one reads Palin's resume then one would see she also entered and won a beauty contest. Is this the kind of woman Hillary Clinton is, is this the kind of woman Michelle Obama is? It seems to me, by Palin's resume, she was just looking for anyway to get attention. Well now she has it.

Politics as usual!

The Real reason, he chose her! Lol!

The Russians Attack!!! (What!???)

2008-08-16T23:42:00.000-07:00

I don't know about you, but I when I think of Georgia, I think of Ray Charles's beautiful song Georgia-on my mind.

So I was stunned to hear that Big & Bad old Russia invaded a country called Georgia...never knew it existed outside of the South. (sorry but geography was not my strongest thing in school, thus the reason I am in the visual arts.)

But on the real. I was quite disturbed by the headlines and even more disturbed to see it on the evening news: scenes of tanks rummaging the country, buildings destroyed, and people bleeding in the aftermath of missile launches by the Russian army. It really baffled me. (What the hell is going on!)

Then Mr. Jethro Bush in a press conference says this of Russia's attack "-- Russia's use of strategic bombers and ballistic missiles against Georgia's civilians outside of the South Ossetian conflict is "far disproportionate" to Georgia's alleged attack on Russian peacekeepers."

Oh, yeah, five years ago we did the same in Iraq. Very hypercritical if you ask me.

I hope the people of Georgia recover from Big Bully Russia soon. Whatever the dispute was between them just doesn't justify and warrant this kind of attack.

It's bad enough that the U.S. is still in Iraq and Afghanistan. We don't need another war.

A poem for (Him)

2008-08-07T17:32:00.000-07:00

A Poem for (Him)

There was a whisper to his voice that was sort of poetic. The squint in his eyes was magnetic and there wasn’t a time when I didn’t wish to hear that voice, over and over again without feeling pathetic. But as quickly as I managed to create a genuine feeling of excitement that I felt was prophetic, it had slowly dissipated into something that I had regretted.

THe environment in which I inhabit can be a curious one to me and its people. The over wash of white bleached sun burning down on my skin, like hot lava is already unbearable enough. I look up at the scorching sun as if it were a turned enemy. Why I think to myself, is it so HOT!! So hot is the sun, that it burns and its rays sting every moving creature in sight into oblivion. Where can I find the nearest shelter from the sun I think to myself. The sting of its rays permeates through out that I am able to contain it. I have to run for shelter. Need a cool place to stand in, and walk into a grocery store. Once inside, I enter another world of dazed and robotic like people glistening in the grocery store isle like it was a perfect day. "Its so soo HOT!" I say to myself, why? I am unable to enjoy the burst of cascading cool air. I try to look for a person that doesn't look lost in their world to hold a conversation. But to no avail. I am going to back out and pluck the mind of another for some type of conversation. I search high and low. Alas, what I do find is disconcerting. Socially antiquated, and everything void of progressive thinking and only topical. But all they tell me "Its great be here isn't it, you can't beat the weather?""

Poor White People.??

2008-08-05T06:32:00.000-07:00

There is a movie that I want to go see, called Frozen River, I read a write up about it in Entertainment Weekly. Frozen River is the story of an upstate New York Trailer mom, lured into the world of illegal immigrant smuggling for money.

First the picture struck me. Its a picture of a haggard, tired looking white woman that looks as if life and has kicked her in her ass. ( I know that look, i wear it from time to time). It struck me that we don't see many images of poor white people a lot in the media, its always poor tired looking black people. It may seem simple minded of me, but I have met poor white people. Likewise, in college I heard of the Appalachia Mountains where there are a community of them. So poor that the parents can't afford to buy the kids shoes to put on their feet. Once again, it may seem simple minded of me. But its what I see in on TV, rich successful white folks, in their nice houses and driving nice cars. It just seems like an oxymoron to have poor white people exist even. I say this because, as African-American woman that grew in a working class family whose family are actually from another country. You grow up with these images all the time. The White man coming to save the day. They come as teachers, missionaries, popes, nuns, priests. The CEO of the company is always White. There is this fallacy out there, that if you are white, you are INDEED PRIVILEGED!!! That notion still lurks underneath the surface. So when the ROSEANN Show came on the air, by God, that was indeed revolutionary in it self. TO SEE POOR WHITE WORKING CLASS struggling. Wow it does exist. It was just as fascinating as the Bill Cosby Show, look, Rich BLACK PEOPLE!! But I say all this to say, that our notions and images of others are mainly created through the media machine, that still to this day, feeds us our propaganda each and every day through out commercials, movies, and television programs.

But thanks to reality shows and rappers like Emimenm, and RedNeck TV. That pervasive thinking is no longer curious...I guess.

Its just a funny notion, and one that made me think hhmm.

Just a thought that I wanted to share.

OVer-coming the Steam Rolling Bitches!!

2008-08-04T21:16:00.000-07:00

I hate overpowering Alpha Dog-omega personalities. They think they are the worlds chief wizard without the kingdom to rule. I have unfortunately run into a few of these bitchy personalities, no let me correct that, they have occasionally stream rolled over me, as a way to mark their territory or make know their positions. I hate that shit. Over bearing, dictatorship like personalities that have no real bearing on the real world other than make sure that they are heard and know to those who aren't listening and piss on those who do listen. Its irks me to no end those types of personalities. They have no rhyme or reason, other than to negate and be condescending and be deliberate and rude in everything that they do.

So here's the middle finger to those ASSHOLES. What can you say, with experience comes lessons learned, and I have learned to stare them down and mean mug them and give 'em a taste of their own medicine. Well at least I try. Its really who cares, because they are not in my world or even in my peripheral. Until they try to bully their way in.

Here's to democracy and choosing to be who ever the fuck you want to be!!!!
