What could be better than these low-maintenance heirloom  multiplying onions? Plant them in the ground and they are nearly  maintenance free. Plant them in pots and water occasionally. It can't  get any easier.

The groundhog said we would have an early spring and the last few days have definitely been spring-like.  

The apple trees are blooming and hopefully the buds won't get frost bitten and have to start all over again.  But, it happens every year so it will probably happen again this year.

In the meantime, enjoy the beautiful weather and get outside!  That's what I've got planned for this week.

If you've never eaten a Fuyu persimmon, you have got to come by and pick one from one of our trees and try it.  It's nothing like the wild persimmon we all got tricked into biting into when we were a kid.

The Fuyu persimmon has the texture and taste of a firm, slightly sweet apple.  They are best when eaten slightly green because they get sweeter as they ripen.
