Mar 5:14  And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the

country. And they went out to see what it was that was done. 

Mar 5:15  And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil,

and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were

afraid. 

Mar 5:16  And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed

with the devil, and also concerning the swine. 

Mar 5:17  And they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts. 

Mar 5:18  And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with

the devil prayed him that he might be with him. 

Mar 5:19  Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy

friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had

compassion on thee. 

Mar 5:20  And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things

Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.

said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is

the lamb for a burnt offering? 

Gen 22:8  And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt

offering: so they went both of them together. 

Gen 22:9  And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham

built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid

him on the altar upon the wood. 

Gen 22:10  And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his

3  Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was

condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to

the chief priests and elders, 

4  Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood.

And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that. 

5  And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed,

and went and hanged himself. 

6  And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not

lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood. 

7  And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to

bury strangers in. 

Judas villanized because of his betrayal of Jesus. But Peter also betrayed as

did the other disciples by their forsaking Him.

Judas was a highly trusted disciple. He carried the bag.

Judas’ greatest err was not his weakness that led to his betrayal of Christ but

his unwillingness to turn to Christ for his forgiveness.

He sought forgiveness from himself, from the chief priests and elders, from

his confession, from his reparation and then from self sacrifice.

Forgiveness awaits everyone, even Judas, but it can only be granted by our

Lord. Not from self improvements, or from the church and its leaders, nor

from your sorrowful admission of guilt, not from trying to undo your wrongs

and not even through sacrificing all that you have and all that you are even

your own lifeblood cannot bring forgiveness. You must turn from you’re

your sin and turn to the Savior as your only hope of forgiveness.

1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I

preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached

unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received,

how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day

according to the scriptures:

5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:

6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of

whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.

7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.

8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due

9 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an

apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

12 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say

some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?

faith is also vain.

15 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have

testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that

the dead rise not.

16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:

17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your

Institution of the Lord's Supper

26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and

brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.

27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them,

saying, Drink ye all of it;

28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for

many for the remission of sins.

29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the

vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.

Jesus Foretells Peter's Denial

30 And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount

"Released From The Law" Romans 7:1-6 

1 Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?

2 For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.

3 So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.

4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.

"That The World May Know Him" 2 Peter 3:8-10

8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

12  Only the LORD give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the LORD thy God. 

13  Then shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfil the statutes and judgments which the LORD charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed. 

14  Now, behold, in my trouble I have prepared for the house of the LORD an hundred thousand talents of gold, and a thousand thousand talents of silver; and of brass and iron without weight; for it is in abundance: timber also and stone have I prepared; and thou mayest add thereto. 

15  Moreover there are workmen with thee in abundance, hewers and workers of stone and timber, and all manner of cunning men for every manner of work. 

16  Of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, there is no number. Arise therefore, and be doing, and the LORD be with thee. 

17  David also commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying, 

18  Is not the LORD your God with you? and hath he not given you rest on every side? for he hath given the inhabitants of the land into mine hand; and the land is subdued before the LORD, and before his people. 

19  Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the LORD God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the LORD. 

10  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 

11  Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 

12  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 

13  Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 

14  Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 

15  And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 

16  Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 

17  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

20  For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. 

Rom 5:12  Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: 

Rom 5:13  (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. 

Rom 5:14  Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. 

Rom 5:15  But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. 

Rom 5:16  And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. 

Rom 5:17  For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) 

Rom 5:18  Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. 

Rom 5:19  For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. 

Rom 5:20  Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: 

Rom 5:21  That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

10  For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

27 Just then his disciples returned and were surprised to find him talking with a woman. But no one asked, “What do you want?” or “Why are you talking with her?”

28 Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, 29 “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?” 30 They came out of the town and made their way toward him.

31 Meanwhile his disciples urged him, “Rabbi, eat something.”

32 But he said to them, “I have food to eat that you know nothing about.”

33 Then his disciples said to each other, “Could someone have brought him food?”

34 “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. 

35 Don’t you have a saying, ‘It’s still four months until harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest. 

The Sabbath Year

Lev 25:1  And the LORD spake unto Moses in mount Sinai, saying, 

Lev 25:2  Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land which I give you, then shall the land keep a sabbath unto the LORD. 

Lev 25:3  Six years thou shalt sow thy field, and six years thou shalt prune thy vineyard, and gather in the fruit thereof; 

Lev 25:4  But in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of rest unto the land, a sabbath for the LORD: thou shalt neither sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard. 

Lev 25:5  That which groweth of its own accord of thy harvest thou shalt not reap, neither gather the grapes of thy vine undressed: for it is a year of rest unto the land. 

Lev 25:6  And the sabbath of the land shall be meat for you; for thee, and for thy servant, and for thy maid, and for thy hired servant, and for thy stranger that sojourneth with thee, 

Lev 25:7  And for thy cattle, and for the beast that are in thy land, shall all the increase thereof be meat. 

The Year of Jubilee

Lev 25:8  And thou shalt number seven sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and the space of the seven sabbaths of years shall be unto thee forty and nine years. 

Lev 25:9  Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubile to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land. 

Lev 25:10  And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family. 

Lev 25:11  A jubile shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather the grapes in it of thy vine undressed. 

Lev 25:12  For it is the jubile; it shall be holy unto you: ye shall eat the increase thereof out of the field. 

Lev 25:13  In the year of this jubile ye shall return every man unto his possession. 

Lev 25:14  And if thou sell ought unto thy neighbour, or buyest ought of thy neighbour's hand, ye shall not oppress one another:

Lev 25:17  Ye shall not therefore oppress one another; but thou shalt fear thy God: for I am the LORD your God. 

Lev 25:18  Wherefore ye shall do my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them; and ye shall dwell in the land in safety. 

Lev 25:19  And the land shall yield her fruit, and ye shall eat your fill, and dwell therein in safety. 

Lev 25:20  And if ye shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in our increase:

Numbers 21:5-9

6 And the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.

John 3:12-21

12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Romans 5:1-6

14  But when raw flesh appeareth in him, he shall be unclean. 

15  And the priest shall see the raw flesh, and pronounce him to be unclean: for the raw flesh is unclean: it is a leprosy. 

16  Or if the raw flesh turn again, and be changed unto white, he shall come unto the priest; 

17  And the priest shall see him: and, behold, if the plague be turned into white; then the priest shall pronounce him clean that hath the plague: he is clean. 

Leprosy = Sin   Leper = Sinner   Priest= Jesus

Transmission: Mysteriously inherited or acquired by contact. He contaminates all.

Rapid Progression: Diffused throughout the victim from within. The disease hastens to spread over the whole system. Everything about him is reflected in him disease.

Repulsive Developments: internal infection breaks forth in loathsome external forms. Although unseen at first it soon produces despicable sores and lesions of putrefying ooze.

Contagious Nature:  One leper can infect an entire community. He is isolated from his loved ones by his malady.

Terminal Prognosis: Unless arrested it soon brings about a fatal conclusion. Without exception: The Wages of Sin Is Death

21  And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled

Mat 12:27  And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.

2 Kings 5:1-16 

1  Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the LORD had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper. 

2  And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman's wife. 

3  And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy. 

4  And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of Israel. 

5  And the king of Syria said, Go to, go, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of raiment. 

6  And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, Now when this letter is come unto thee, behold, I have therewith sent Naaman my servant to thee, that thou mayest recover him of his leprosy. 

7  And it came to pass, when the king of Israel had read the letter, that he rent his clothes, and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man doth send unto me to recover a man of his leprosy? wherefore consider, I pray you, and see how he seeketh a quarrel against me. 

8  And it was so, when Elisha the man of God had heard that the king of Israel had rent his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, Wherefore hast thou rent thy clothes? let him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel. 

9  So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariot, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha. 

10  And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean. 

11  But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper. 

12  Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage. 

13  And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean? 

14  Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean. 

15  And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him: and he said, Behold, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel: now therefore, I pray thee, take a blessing of thy servant. 

16  But he said, As the LORD liveth, before whom I stand, I will receive none. And he urged him to take it; but he refused. 

21 And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught.

22 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.

23 And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,

24 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.

25 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.

26 And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.

27 And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.

28 And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee.

Matthew 3:1-12

1. In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,

2. And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

to change one's mind for better, heartily to amend with abhorrence of one's past sins

4. And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey. He lived a simple life with no distractions

7. But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

He didn’t mince words

8. Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:

SHow us you mean it. Action speaks louder than words.  

9. And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to [our] father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

It’s not who you are, it's who he is...What you do can never be enough!!!

10. And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

If you are not in active fellowship with the father you will be caught up in the world and destroyed.

11. I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: 

John was still under the law and dealt with the day to day outward man

but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and [with] fire:

Jesus brings lasting change from within, He changes the heart!

12. Whose fan [is] in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

Sin and Death are the fire and sin always brings death, but misery is on the path

Mat 11:2-5

2 Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples,

3 And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?

4 Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see:

8  And I gave thee thy master's house, and thy master's wives into thy bosom, and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that had been too little, I would moreover have given unto thee such and such things. 

9  Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in his sight? thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon. 

10  Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife. 

11  Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy neighbour, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun. 

12  For thou didst it secretly: but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun. 

13  And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die. 

14  Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.

Numbers 14:1-45

11  And the LORD said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have shewed among them? 

Exo 17:8  Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim.

Exo 17:14  And the LORD said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven. 

Exo 17:15  And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovahnissi: 

Exo 17:16  For he said, Because the LORD hath sworn that the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation. 

12  Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: 

13  And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil. 

14  Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the LORD your God? 

15  Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly: 

16  Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet. 

17  Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?

67  And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah's tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his wife; and he loved her: and Isaac was comforted after his mother's death. 

God hates sin because it separates us from him:.

[Isa 59:2 KJV] 2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid [his] face from you, that he will not hear.

The fact that God hates sin means he hates being separated from us and us from Him.

He created us to have fellowship with him and to bring him glory if we are living in sin we are not doing either one of those

Sin is the very antithesis(opposite) (antimatter) of God’s nature. The psalmist describes God’s hatred of sin:

[Psa 5:4 KJV] 4 For thou [art] not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.

[Pro 6:16-19 KJV] 16 These six [things] doth the LORD hate: yea, seven [are] an abomination unto him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19 A false witness [that] speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

God hates sin because he is holy; holiness is the most exalted of all his attributes-Holiness is The Opposite Of Sin

[Isa 6:2-3 KJV] 2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. 3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, [is] the LORD of hosts: the whole earth [is] full of his glory.

[Rev 4:8 KJV] 8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about [him]; and [they were] full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.

Sin entices us to focus on worldly pleasure instead of God’s blessings.To pursue sin is to turn one’s back on God’s gifts. [Jer 29:11-14 KJV] 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. 12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. 13 And ye shall seek me, and find [me], when ye shall search for me with all your heart. 14 And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive. God hates sin because it blinds us to the truth. Jesus likened false teachers to “blind leaders of the blind”

[Mat 15:14 KJV] 14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

[Jhn 8:32 KJV] 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

[1Jo 2:11 KJV] 11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.

12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. 13 And ye shall seek me, and find [me], when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Sin lessens our love for God. The Bible says, [1Jo 2:15-17 KJV] 15 Love not the world, neither the things [that are] in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that [is] in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

14  Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children: 

15  Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; 

16  But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet. 

17  These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever. 

18  For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.

62  And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. 

63  Then the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What need we any further witnesses? 

64  Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death. 

65  And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to buffet him, and to say unto him, Prophesy: and the servants did strike him with the palms of their hands. 

66  And as Peter was beneath in the palace, there cometh one of the maids of the high priest: 

67  And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked upon him, and said, And thou also wast with Jesus of Nazareth. 

68  But he denied, saying, I know not, neither understand I what thou sayest. And he went out into the porch; and the cock crew. 

69  And a maid saw him again, and began to say to them that stood by, This is one of them. 

70  And he denied it again. And a little after, they that stood by said again to Peter, Surely thou art one of them: for thou art a Galilaean, and thy speech agreeth thereto. 

71  But he began to curse and to swear, saying, I know not this man of whom ye speak. 

72  And the second time the cock crew. And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus said unto him, Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. And when he thought thereon, he wept.

28  Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 

29  Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 

30  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

8  And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 

9  Command Aaron and his sons, saying, This is the law of the burnt offering: It is the burnt offering, because of the burning upon the altar all night unto the morning, and the fire of the altar shall be burning in it. 

10  And the priest shall put on his linen garment, and his linen breeches shall he put upon his flesh, and take up the ashes which the fire hath consumed with the burnt offering on the altar, and he shall put them beside the altar. 

11  And he shall put off his garments, and put on other garments, and carry forth the ashes without the camp unto a clean place. 

12  And the fire upon the altar shall be burning in it; it shall not be put out: and the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order upon it; and he shall burn thereon the fat of the peace offerings. 

13  The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out. 

Gal 1:6  I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 

Gal 1:7  Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 

Gal 1:8  But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 

Gal 1:9  As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

1  The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: 

2  Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; 

3  Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. 

4  And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. 

5  Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. 

6  Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 

7  Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 

8  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 

9  Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. 

10  But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. 

11  To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

[1]Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 

[2] Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.

[3] Israel was holiness unto the LORD, and the firstfruits of his increase: all that devour him shall offend; evil shall come upon them, saith the LORD. 

[4] Hear ye the word of the LORD, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel:

[5] Thus saith the LORD, What iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain?

[6] Neither said they, Where is the LORD that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought, and of the shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt?

[7] And I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when ye entered, ye defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination.

[8] The priests said not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.

[9] Wherefore I will yet plead with you, saith the LORD, and with your children's children will I plead.

[10] For pass over the isles of Chittim, and see; and send unto Kedar, and consider diligently, and see if there be such a thing.

[11] Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.

[12] Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the LORD.

[13] For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

20 And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.

21 And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.

22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses

26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

15  For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: 

16  As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God. 

17  Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king. 

18  Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward. 

41  And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain. 

42  So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees, 

43  And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times. 

44  And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man's hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not. 

45  And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel. 

46  And the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel. 

1  And it came to pass at the end of two full years, that Pharaoh dreamed: and, behold, he stood by the river. 

2  And, behold, there came up out of the river seven well favoured kine and fatfleshed; and they fed in a meadow. 

3  And, behold, seven other kine came up after them out of the river, ill favoured and leanfleshed; and stood by the other kine upon the brink of the river. 

4  And the ill favoured and leanfleshed kine did eat up the seven well favoured and fat kine. So Pharaoh awoke.

21  That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. 

22  And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: 

23  I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. 

24  Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. 

25  O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me. 

26  And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them. 

 "3 Reasons to Get Good Directions"

1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if [it were] not [so], I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, [there] ye may be also.

4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

1  Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 

2  Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. 

19  There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: 

20  And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, 

21  And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 

22  And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 

23  And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 

24  And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. 

25  But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. 

46  And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? 

47  Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: 

48  He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. 

49  But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

17  And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. 

18  And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. 

19  Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 

20  Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. 

21  In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight. 

22  All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him. 

23  And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see: 

24  For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them. 

7  Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 

8  For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 

9  Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? 

10  Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? 

11  If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? 

24  Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly. 

25  Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me. 

26  But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. 

27  My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 

28  And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 

29  My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. 

30  I and my Father are one. 

16  I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. 

17  And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. 

18  For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 

19  And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. 

20  He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

13  Then was Daniel brought in before the king. And the king spake and said unto Daniel, Art thou that Daniel, which art of the children of the captivity of Judah, whom the king my father brought out of Jewry? 

14  I have even heard of thee, that the spirit of the gods is in thee, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom is found in thee. 

15  And now the wise men, the astrologers, have been brought in before me, that they should read this writing, and make known unto me the interpretation thereof: but they could not shew the interpretation of the thing: 

16  And I have heard of thee, that thou canst make interpretations, and dissolve doubts: now if thou canst read the writing, and make known to me the interpretation thereof, thou shalt be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold about thy neck, and shalt be the third ruler in the kingdom. 

17  Then Daniel answered and said before the king, Let thy gifts be to thyself, and give thy rewards to another; yet I will read the writing unto the king, and make known to him the interpretation. 

18  O thou king, the most high God gave Nebuchadnezzar thy father a kingdom, and majesty, and glory, and honour: 

19  And for the majesty that he gave him, all people, nations, and languages, trembled and feared before him: whom he would he slew; and whom he would he kept alive; and whom he would he set up; and whom he would he put down. 

20  But when his heart was lifted up, and his mind hardened in pride, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him: 

21  And he was driven from the sons of men; and his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild asses: they fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven; till he knew that the most high God ruled in the kingdom of men, and that he appointeth over it whomsoever he will. 

22  And thou his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all this; 

23  But hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified: 

24  Then was the part of the hand sent from him; and this writing was written. 

25  And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. 

26  This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it. 

27  TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting. 

28  PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians. 

29  Then commanded Belshazzar, and they clothed Daniel with scarlet, and put a chain of gold about his neck, and made a proclamation concerning him, that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom. 

30  In that night was Belshazzar the king of the Chaldeans slain. 

31  And Darius the Median took the kingdom, being about threescore and two years old.

1  And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.

20  Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered. 

21  And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man: 

22  All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died. 

23  And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark. 

24  And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days. 

9  And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow. 

10  And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.

1  Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work, 

2  To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men. 

3  For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. 

4  But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, 

5  Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 

6  Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; 

7  That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. 

8  This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men. 

7  Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth? 

8  This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you. 

9  A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump. 

10  I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be. 

11  And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased. 

12  I would they were even cut off which trouble you. 

13  For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. 

14  For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 

15  But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. 

16  This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 

17  For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. 

18  But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

7  And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father's sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually. 

8  And he bowed himself, and said, What is thy servant, that thou shouldest look upon such a dead dog as I am? 

9  Then the king called to Ziba, Saul's servant, and said unto him, I have given unto thy master's son all that pertained to Saul and to all his house. 

10  Thou therefore, and thy sons, and thy servants, shall till the land for him, and thou shalt bring in the fruits, that thy master's son may have food to eat: but Mephibosheth thy master's son shall eat bread alway at my table. Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants. 

11  Then said Ziba unto the king, According to all that my lord the king hath commanded his servant, so shall thy servant do. As for Mephibosheth, said the king, he shall eat at my table, as one of the king's sons. 

12  And Mephibosheth had a young son, whose name was Micha. And all that dwelt in the house of Ziba were servants unto Mephibosheth. 

13  So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem: for he did eat continually at the king's table; and was lame on both his feet

Genesis 3:8-13

The whole system of Christianity rests upon the fact that “Christ is risen from the dead;”

The Resurrection proves Jesus’ divinity

Our Justification is a result of His victory over death and the grave

Our spiritual rebirth is by His resurrection

1Pe 1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

Our resurrection is dependent on His resurrection 

Rom 8:11  But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. 

You see- the resurrection of Jesus Christ is the Scarlet Thread that ties all of the blessings of being a believer together. From being born again all the way through our eternal glory with Him. Can you think of anything that should be more important to know beyond a shadow of a doubt for a believer? 

20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

Jesus Appears to Two Disciples

12  After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country. 

13  And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them. 

14  Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.

HIS SOUL

Jesus literally, physically died and His soul went to the 

place of old testament (pre-Calvary) departed believers.

Luk 16:23  And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

JESUS’ SOUL IN HELL – COMPARTMENT 1 

Act 2:27  Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. 

Act 2:28  Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance. 

Act 2:29  Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. 

Act 2:30  Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; 

Act 2:31  He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. 

Act 2:32  This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.

Is it possible that I am guilty of the same accursed sin as Judas?

I have made a profession of faith

I have been baptized into the name of Jesus Christ

I am a member of His visible church

I partake of Communion

I worship at the altar beside those that I call Brother & Sister

But am I Sincere? If Not! I am a vile Traitor!

Do I live as the world lives?

Do I value the same things that the world values?

Do I love His Church?

Do I betray Jesus with my kisses?

Do I follow Him afar off like Peter?

Dear Lord, Help me not to profess you with my lips and then betray you with my kisses! 

Rom 4:17  (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

Being Fully Persuaded brings:

1. BELIEF: v17 Believed in God Himself not just the promises. You can believe in 

someone and still Not Have much faith in them.

2. HOPE: v18 Against hope believed in hope. He became hopeful because of God’s promise to him.

3. PERSPECTIVE: v19 Not weak in faith is a choice (decision). He chose NOT to focus on himself and his inabilities but on God.

4. FAITH: v20 Strong in faith. He refused to stagger (withdraw or dismiss) God’s promise because of any doubts or lack of his own. – I believe God.

5. FRUITION: v21 What God promised – He is able to perform.

6. RIGHTEOUSNESS: v22 We are accounted (imputed) as Righteous (right standing)

vv23-25 God has offered this right-standing to all of us who will be Fully Persuaded as Abraham was, to believe on God (v24) and that He sacrificed His Son Jesus for our sin debt and raised Him again for our Justification (acquittal)

Jas 1:5  If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 

Jas 1:6  But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 

Jas 1:7  For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 

6  Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. 

7  Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

Rom 7:7  What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.

3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 

17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

Most people know Martin Luther as a theologian and as the father of the Reformation but he also happened to have some pretty relevant advice for communities dealing with the coronavirus.

Back in 1527, a deadly plague hit Martin Luther’s town of Wittenberg and he wrote a letter to a friend, explaining how churches should deal with such complicated circumstances. Sure, science has progressed immensely in the last 500 years and we know way more about infectious diseases than we did back then, but the heart of his words still ring true.

“Use medicine; take potions which can help you; fumigate house, yard, and street; shun persons and places wherever your neighbor does not need your presence or has recovered, and act like a man who wants to help put out the burning city,” Luther advised. “What else is the epidemic but a fire which instead of consuming wood and straw devours life and body?” 

We have a better understanding of medicine, “potions” and the value of fumigation but Luther’s advice about loving your community by avoiding going out is just as pertinent today.

The scientific consensus is that “social distancing”, staying home and avoiding crowds is the best way to prevent the spread of the virus and help those who are most vulnerable. But Luther knew that as Christians, even these precautions have their limits.

“If my neighbor needs me, however, I shall not avoid place or person but will go freely, as stated above,” he wrote. “See, this is such a God-fearing faith because it is neither brash nor foolhardy and does not tempt God.”

In other words, be smart. Use discernment. Protect your community by staying in but if someone needs help, remember the Gospel’s call to assist those in need. That may look different for everyone but we can all do something:

Call an isolated friend who might be lonely. Check-in on elderly neighbors and family members. Don’t hoard groceries and supplies. Be generous with extra income, remembering that many people will be suffering financially in the coming days. Support medical professionals through prayer and respect of their advice and guidelines.

And most of all, remember that though the war on the coronavirus is one that can be won through wisdom and science. We protect our bodies and the health of our communities through social distancing and self-isolation, but we battle not against flesh and blood, but spiritual forces that want to strip us of peace and replace it with fear.

Luther wrote: ”In closing, we admonish and plead with you in Christ’s name to help us with your prayers to God so that we may do battle with word and precept against the real and spiritual pestilence of Satan in his wickedness with which he now poisons and defiles the world.”

Act 14:22  Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.
