I don’t know what happened to me..over the past year, there is a phenomenal shift in the way i have been viewing things. There were days when there was a vibrant energy filled around me (not long ago) and I was seeing every failure as an opportunity to learn and grow up to the next level. There was one failure challenge following another failure challenge  and I used to  handle all those with ease (at least believed). But now all that energy and enthusiasm in me is dead. I am lazy and see no inspiration in taking up new challenges and want to just want to be “yet another guy”. All I want to do is sit in front of the idiot box and kill time. I just don’t know where is this fellow who wrote this post. Between this years what happened is..

• My startup “failed”.
• I got married to my dream girl.

Nagesh –  With a career spanning close to half a century, this veteran actor is a book of lessons for a common man in the street to a business tycoon who is chasing his dreams . Its common that the negative aspects of a human will wipe him off from the good books of the society.Nagesh and Raju (Satyam) belong to this elite group. To start with he seldom had any sort of courtesy for his producers. He literally would walk out of the sets or complain of a sour throat (for the dubbing of the movie)  in case his salary is yet to be credited. So what happened to all the money he earned? One fine day, when he drove down to see his mother in his new imported car stacked with money, all he had to see his mother’s last rites being performed on the banks of Amravathi. Resultant was he became a slave to alcoholism and drugs. There are aplenty here, which i had to edit for the sole reason that the length of this post may overshoot. On the positive note, to put in simple words.. Kamal hassan has just two portraits hanging in his office, One is his own and the other one is Mr.Nagesh. This says it. During the funeral, Kamal had to say these words

“The greatness of the man is that even as we are mourning his passing away and crying, you are reminded of some ‘Nagesh joke,’ which will make you laugh instantly,”

The above image exactly replicates the state I am. For those who were not aware of what I was up to for the past 6 months (hints of those were visible here and here), to put in simple words I was moonlighting my startup working over the night and weekends along with my day job. Lesson learnt is “There is nothing called part- time entrepreneurship”. So here I declare “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH”. Starting 2009, I am gonna dump in my business card which calls me as a “Application programmer, XXX ltd, XXX biz park, desk phone no, fax no ,etc” and do what I am destined to do. PERIOD!.

At this point of time, lines of Lieutenant Dan (a character from the movie Forrest Gump) comes in to my mind. It goes like this – “I had a destiny, I was supposed to die on the field with honour. That was my destiny…”. Same with me – I better fail/succeed/live/die as an entrepreneur doing what I love the most rather than writing some junk piece of code all day long. My 2 words for people who want to quit but have this fear of “daily-job-month-end-salary-phobia”, If you are thinking about your venture while you are at your day job, not able to do justice to both, I would rather say – call it off!.”Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try Again. Fail again. Fail better..”- Samuel Beckett

Here it is. She wakes me up at that time of the night (2:00 AM), convinces me in the most soothing manner to go and get a pill for his tooth ache. I cursing her to the core, take my Spirit (Its not the drink..its the two wheeler..yes there was one with this name and I owned it) and came back with the pill. Then i still remember scolding her during my onward and return journey. Now after close to 8 years or so, I understand what LOVE is. FYI he was my pop and she was my mom.

Admist moments of acute turbulence, when Mumbai is facing the brunt of the anti-nationalists, we as citizens of India can do our bit by praying for Mumbai. So everyone here please do “Pray for Mumbai”. Let those valuble prayers give all the strength to our real heroes – the NSG Commandoes, the ATS, IndIan Army, Indian Navy , RAF, CRPF, Mumbai police and offcourse the hardcore  Mumbaikaar who all are working hard to bring Mumbai back to normalcy. As NDTV says “India stands with Mumbai”. True. We stand with you Mumbai!

Vaaranam Ayiram in my lines is all about how a head of a family brings up his children with the best of his abilities in such a way, that it tends to be an inspiration to all past/present/future fathers. The secret is – Let your children live their dreams. I am simply awestruck with Surya. PERIOD.From a teenager to a young man to a drug addict to Major and to a old man… dude..you deserve a national recognition. A six pack with a purpose.A Belly with a purpose.A Flat abs again with a purpose.Harris,Rajeevan and the Makeup (Donno who did that) require special credits. In short Gautham Vasudev Menon, as a son has made his father’s soul rejoice in happiness. Hope he has achieved what he was aiming for.If you don’t know, he passed way last year and this movie is all about his father.A must watch.

…that you are too good comparative to the rest and she likes you a lot but can’t love you and also wants your friendship…you are there in the middle of a pile of deep shit with nothing to do.Stay there and come out of it with TIME.Nothing much that you can do.Now I am underlining this very line which great scholars have repeated time and again but we never learn – “Men can’t understand womanhood”. I have tried to understand them, have failed miserably and would add “Don’t even try to“. GOD HELP MANHOOD.
