Tired of blending in? Learn how to develop a personal style that reflects you - without chasing every trend. Simple, clear, actionable advice.

Why Most People Fall Into The Style Copycat Trap:

Many people unknowingly dress like carbon copies because it feels safe. Trends give the illusion of belonging and acceptance. Scrolling social media or shopping at fast-fashion retailers encourages sameness. What's trending gets bought, worn, and posted - again and again. But here's the truth: copying style doesn't equal having one. Personal style is about decisions based on who you are, not what's trending.

I find so many times that when clients ask constantly, "Does this look good on me?" instead of "Does this feel like me?" You're outsourcing your style to someone else's taste. Fitting in isn't the same as standing out. And most people crave recognition - not repetition. Breaking out of the trap starts with awareness. So, ask yourself - When was the last time your outfit made you feel seen, not just stylish?

You have to admit that is a very powerful question and it causes you to start to reevaluate your style and how it resonates with your inner self. See, the goal isn't to avoid fashion trends entirely. It's to use them with intention - not imitation. When your wardrobe stops being a mirror of everyone else's and starts reflecting who you are that's when style becomes personal.

Reconnect With What Inspires You:

Dig into your interest and influences - Your style shouldn't be based only on what's in or hot. I like to help client to build from what lights them up - like art, music, cities, icons, or even architecture. Think of your influences beyond clothes - A great example of this is think about what you love i.e. bold jazz-era vibes, minimalist interiors, or Afro-futuristic art these are a few great areas to start from and to pull inspiration from.

What you may not realize is that these preferences carry natural aesthetic cues. Once you're clear on what draws you in, style becomes a visual language you can fluently speak.

Lapazions, jot down 5 things that inspire you. Then ask: "How can this show up in my outfits?" Your interest are a goldmine for authentic style, that you need to tap into and use to your style advantage that creates your personal style and persona.

Edit Your Closet with Purpose:

Keep only what reflects you - Most wardrobes are cluttered with maybes, somedays and, not yeses. To stop looking like everyone else, you need to get selective. Pull everything out. One by one, ask: "Do I feel like myself in this?" If the answer isn't an easy yes, it's a no. Choose items that align with your inspiration, your lifestyle, and your identity. When your closet becomes a reflection of you - not trends - it's easier to get dressed with confidence and ease.

What To Do To Break the Carbon Copycat?

Pick 2-3 Elements That Define You: Signature style isn't about having a uniform it's about consistent elements that feel like your trademark. This could be:

* A certain color palette

* Statement earrings or pieces

* Layered neutrals

* Structured blazers

* Vintage jackets, denim, or cardigans

Pick 2-3 core elements and repeat them with variations. These become recognizable traits that express your identity - subtly and stylishly. This has shocked and shaken the fashion world as we know it to be - The one and only Ms. Anna Wintour on Thursday, made the announcement that they will be seeking a head of editorial content at American Vogue.

That means that after 37 years of being at the helm and harnessing the reigns as editor-in-chief of the publication is coming to an end for the 75 year old that has been the voice, director, creator, change-maker, and the woman that changed the face of having high-end models on the cover to A-list celebrities. Now, don't worry she isn't crawling under a rock to never been seen or heard from again, Anna will remain the chief content officer for Conde Nast and global editorial director, vogue.

So, what does it mean to be the chief content officer? Anna will oversee every brand globally, including Wired, Vanity Fair, GQ, AD, Conde Nast Traveler, Glamour, Bon Appetit, Tatler, World of Interiors, Allure and others, but not the New Yorker because as you know David Remnick oversees the magazine.

This by far is an end of an era - some how or some way it feels like this is a marker in time for all of us in fashion, music, the arts you name it - because Ms. Wintour, stepped into the shoes of editor in chief of Vogue in 1988 and to see how far she has taken the magazine and the different pathways that she has blazed is something that will never be forgotten - We are waiting with baited breath to see who will be named as the HEAD the EDITOR of VOGUE!

Pha-REAL!! Hold on to you hats, Pharrell, for his spring 2026 menswear collection, he didn't miss a step or even a concept.

Lapazions, Pharrell Williams just reminded the world why he’s not here to follow fashion—he’s here to lead it. For Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2026 menswear collection, the creative director took us on a global journey with a nod to the refined wanderer: a man who appreciates impeccable craftsmanship, sun-worn textiles, and the kind of luggage that deserves its own passport stamp.

This season, Williams set his sights on India, conjuring a color palette that feels like the subcontinent at golden hour. Think burgundy and saffron washed into dusty pastels, mixed with navy and violet-tinged indigo that subtly replaced stark black. There was an unmistakable touch of dandyism—nothing forced, just Pharrell’s signature effortless luxury.

The silhouettes? Louche, layered, and luxe. Flared pants, puffers, and cropped suit jackets gave us something familiar to hold on to, but the real swerve came in the form of short shorts—some sporty, some tailored, all unapologetically bold. Call it glamping-chic if you must, but make no mistake: these shorts are about to be the must-have item for men next spring. Pharrell closed the show wearing his own gym shorts and a grin that said he already knows. The takeaway? You’ve got six months to get those legs right.

True to form, Williams didn’t stop at clothes. The show was steeped in texture and technique, spotlighting India’s incomparable savoir-faire: intricate beading, embroidery, and jeweled finishes that glimmered across accessories, outerwear, and yes—those iconic trunks.

One standout motif revived a pattern created for Wes Anderson’s cult classic The Darjeeling Limited—featuring cheetahs, zebras, elephants, gazelles, giraffes, rhinos, and palm trees—now splashed across luggage, clothing, and accessories. It was both a cinematic wink and a love letter to travel, pushing the theme full circle in true Pharrell fashion.

And of course, front row royalty was in attendance: Jay Z and Beyoncé, lending even more gravity to a collection that already had the fashion world spinning.

With this collection, Williams didn’t just design garments—he mapped out a lifestyle. One for the modern nomad who pairs adventure with artistry, and never checks his sense of style at the gate.

Top Fashion Trends Summer 2025

Every season is met with great anticipation and of course you know summertime vibes start buzzing as soon as there is a slight burst or break in the weather. Lapazions are ready to shed the heavy sweaters, coats, gloves, and boots and ready to show a little or a lot of skin.

Well, we have done the leg work for you for the top fashion trends for Summer 2025 including a mix of returning classics and fresh, modern styles. Expect to see a resurgence of sporty prep

Tennis skirts and tracksuits, alongside a continuation of sheer fabrics and utility chic. Bold colors, particularly shades of yellow, and aquatic influences, like Breton stripes and shell jewelry, are a full rage and setting the tone for how the esthetic of the look flows and feels. The other thing that we are excited to see and hear is a major trend of the season is more sustainability and longevity, with personalized looks and a touch of retro flair. I think this season is offering more opportunity to show your authentic style and to push boundaries. I love that the lines are still clean but they also flow better and have more fabric. Oversized jeans are still so hot and have the fabric puddle at the shoe but not under the shoe looks so fresh but retro.

I love the mixing and matching of textures and fabrics like the sheer fabrics with silk, or cotton. The layering of sheers are making a strong comeback, adding that slight delicate and airy feeling to summer - It made me think of summer in Paris because of the sheer fabrics just blowing in the wind as you walked and shopped. Who doesn't love a great cotton blouse, shirt or skirt this is the tried and true fabrics of all fabrics - Lord, cotton will always be the "fabric of our lives" it's the staple, and no matter how they reimagine it - we love how fresh and modern it comes back and births a whole new era and love.

The trends of summer 2025 are broad and offer a little something to everyone of every age group and we know you will settle into the colors: different shades of yellow, powder pinks, shades of blue, greens, to bold blooms... Let your imagination run wild and don't just limit yourself to the same old same ole - step out try new trends and color that work into your personal color palette and don't be afraid to try a different style.

Hello LaPazions, here is part two of our “Understanding Your Body-type.” We want to celebrate all body-types so we’re going to take each one step-by-step and give you a few pointers that will help you out when, you start building or revamping your wardrobe.

Apple Shape=You have no defined waistline, weight tends to form on the stomach or mid-section. Many ladies think this is only a plus issue but, that isn’t the case and there are several celebs that share this particular body-type:Honestly, the apple shaped body-type isn’t the easiest shape to dress. Many make the mistake to cover-cover, layer and wear very lose fitting garments which; in many instances only makes for a heavier appearance and gives no definition to your body-shape.

Let’s get into a few tricks that can help you when dressing your apple-body shape. You want to create the illusion of having a defined waistline- You’ll want to wear clothes in a way that makes your mid-section narrower. This will help you achieve a proportional body shape and visually take 10 pounds off your figure.

Belts: You should think about adding a great belt to your wardrobe. Dark colored wide belts that have a little detail to them but, remember if you are very full and heavy around the waist, a wide belt made out of stretch material is recommended.

Dresses & Tops: That skim past over your midsection but; nip right below your bust such as: empire, long tops, tunic shirts- lift your chest and make your waist look trimmer.

Shapewear: Ladies this area is very important because, you want to give definition and trick the eye- You should really invest in a good waist cinchers, believe it or not this investment will do the trick in an instant, giving you the well defined waistline and reshaping- Purchase a very good push-up bra that will lift and raise your bust and give the separation and elongate your body-shape.

Jackets: Preferably hip-length to skim past your mid-section and balance out your frame. Buttons should be below the bust to trim your waist. Also, nipped waist, V-shaped lapels, and a V-neckline look best on you.
Also make sure that your jackets are single-breasted. Too much details such as double breasts accentuate your midsection and will make you look bulky.

Hello LaPazions, I guess many of you are wondering why we started with this particular body-type? It’s very simple, with the new craze of the ample and fuller bottom and, the celebration of all things bootylicious seems to be a great place to start to get a good understanding of how to dress this particular body-shape.

Pear Shape= Widest part of your body is below the waist around your hips and bottom- You can be small, short, full-figured or thin, but, if your hips are wider than your shoulders you are a pear-shape:Ladies don’t be upset because you just happen to be in good company with some of the most fabulous celebrities that are also pear-shaped; from Jennifer Lopez, Nicki Minaj, Beyoncé to Kelly Clarkson to just name a few:Now let’s get into the meat of this article what are the tricks in dressing this particular body-type? You want to elongate your figure to draw attention away from the heaviest part of your body aka your hips and butt We have to balance your hips and shoulders while celebrating your curves-We want to draw eyes upwards.

You should think about wearing things that are darker and more slimming on the bottom i.e. dark jeans, pants, dark knee-length pencil skirts (P.S. I’m not telling you-you are doomed to a life of all black and boringness). You need to remember to just wear solid colors and fantastic tops that bring attention to your face Next tip your tops shouldn’t end at your hips because, it will make you look heavier.

Jackets: are your friend-Why? They have a fabulous structure and silhouette, your jackets you choose should end past your hips-not at your hips.

Tunic tops and Dresses: will bring attention upwards-don’t wear any that are too tight or cling to your stomach or hips. One thing about this style is it will accentuate your arms, upper body and will make you look leaner.

Cold Shoulder Tops: this will look great and give a little sexy. These tops show off one of the sexiest areas on a woman’s body and most women can rock this look. These tops immediately draws attention upward and are very eye-catching.

These are just a few simple tips in dressing this particular body-type and how to look fabulous at all times no matter what you’re wearing.

LaPazions, I must be totally honest with you all; I’m only here at Vera Wang because, my niece is a huge fan of this Designer and because she is fighting to beat Leukemia. I thought I’d cover this show exclusively for Elly (Please click on her picture to donate and support us in helping to find a cure for blood cancer and Leukemia):As I sit here getting ready to see what is going to be presented, I am a little worried and nerves because, the last 4 seasons haven’t been that great, so I am hoping this season will usher in a new and vibrant Vera Wang. The first look comes onto the runway and my heart slightly sinks into my feet.. I’m really not sure what direction or feel Vera is going with but, I can honestly say its definitely not what I was hoping to see:

I am praying this isn’t what the full collection looks like. I love the shoes that are being featured on the models with the collection but, I don’t really feel they match or feel right with each piece that comes onto the runway.. With that being stated, I’d love to have a pair in my collection though:

Thank goodness a few really cute pieces came out and I thought seriously Vera Wang’s ready-to-wear just isn’t that ready to wear.. I’d love to see her put more definition and cohesion into the collection and give us some color (technically she gave us a bang of orange). I’d like to see something that looks more like what we’ve come to know and love with Vera Wang bridal for the ready-to-wear:

Happy fabulous fashion week LaPazions, I am so excited sitting here with our Editor-in-Chief, Sonya LaRae getting ready to take in one of my favorite Designers. I feel the adrenaline rushing through my vein's like a child who has had one too many pieces of chocolate..

It’s show-time the lights dim and the music comes up and the first look is out on the runway and I’m like this is really pretty and very feminine, which I’m loving and I look over at Sonya LaRae and she is like on the edge of her seat taking in every element of the garments coming down the runway.. I love that they are giving reference to more of a 50’s style and fabrics. I am going to give you a little tease of what we’re seeing:I love the clean lines of the 50’s and Badley Mischka captured it but, brought it forward to be very modern, which gave air to a true feel of what women today would love to wear and look like. Something else that made this collection pop-was how they kept the hair and makeup simple with a bold lips; much like women in my mom’s era would rock. I could see myself wearing several pieces from this collection that celebrates everything about being a woman and understanding the contouring of the female form (body-shape):Per the Designers they are giving us a visual and feeling of Buenos Aires 1950’s- Raw elegance and luxury was in that time and women dressed for dinner, cocktails or brunches. Hello LaPazions, I know we’re just a little behind on bringing you all our coverage but, don’t worry we will get everything up on the site for you promise. We’re here at the Christian Siriano Spring 2016 runway show and I’m looking forward to seeing what’s going to be offered by this very fashion forward Designer. This seasons collection is about the “dream” of visiting Morocco per Siriano so, I’m very interested to see what his dream of Morocco looks like.

I see several stars are in attendance from Laura Prepon, Alicia Silverstone and Dance Mom starlet Maddie Ziegler just to name a few:

Finally show time and I have to say my vision and thoughts of Morocco are a little more vivid and depth. Morocco is rich in culture, spectacular splashes of color with scrumptious spices. Siriano took a more scaled down approach to this vibrant country- He brought out more natural hues, that necessarily didn’t speak Moroccan influences or textile:

Needless to say I personally didn’t feel a Moroccan sense or feeling but, then just as I was about to just feel let down -these gorgeous/flowy pieces came out onto the runway that took me to Morocco and celebrated all things we have come to know and love:

I think Christian really brought a very different element to this collection and, I will reiterate, I would have loved to see more of the textures, colors and flare from Moroccan influences. Happy fabulous fashion week LaPazions, anniversaries are being celebrated all over this year and Alexander Wang just happens to be celebrating his 10 year anniversary in this glamorous industry. I mean who really knew its been ten years for this amazing Designer? Alexander Wang started his eponymous label in 2005, when he was on 19 years of age and just graduating from Parsons The New School For Design. When he use to rock the short hair cut:

Now fast forward to this July when he abruptly stepped down after only 3 years with Balenciaga. I cannot begin to tell you how important this show is for Wang. Well, I tell you there are enough celebrities here to make sure this event is a major success- From Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Mary J. Blige, Kylie Jenner and Tyga, Kanye and Kim just to drop a few names.

The first look comes out and I’m still reserving my opinion, if this is a total yay or nay for me.. I’m kind of on the fence because, I think I may have expected just a bit more from this presentation so, I’m feeling like I wanted the wow moment and I couldn’t find it:I think for us all at Lapazimageing, the collection fell just a little short, and it didn’t seem to have really a cohesive direction but, maybe that was exactly what Wang was going for. For me personally the collection felt heavy and a little disgruntle=very angry models with looks of total rage in their eyes and face..

Happy fashion week LaPazions, I’m really excited sitting here at the Betsey Johnson runway show because, this is a major day. It’s not only the anniversary of 9/11; it’s also Betsey’s anniversary of 50 years in the industry. 50 years, I mean seriously this woman has become a staple to so many and her creativity just keeps bubbling forth.

When I attend a Betsey Johnson runway show; there is so much positive energy and great flowing movement, laughter and a spirit of lightheartedness to the room. I see many of the cast members of Orange is the New Black front and center and; I also heard that this show is dedicated to Betsey’s dance teacher/Choreographer who brought her to New York-you just have to love Ms. Johnson!!

Here is a look into the creative mind of Betsey Johnson and what she presented:

LaPazions, as I sat looking at the collection coming down the runway, there is a piece of me that wants to look and wear this… I mean my personal style is more like Designer Carolina Herrera but, deep inside there is definitely a very fun, free spirited and out right rebel that sometimes comes out and shows her face; and this is EVERYTHING that Betsey Johnson stands for.

She gave us a decade of fashion to celebrate her 50 years in the industry. This runway show was very well thought out and planned because, we started with the present which was kind of an ode to Nicki Minaj, when she was on the outrageous side of fashion, then the 90’s grunge era, 80’s all about hard rock and jumpsuits, the 60’s which gave very wearable content then to the 50’s. I love the whimsy and out right abandonment that Betsey brings to the close of every show-Her signature cartwheel and split get’s better with time:LaPazions, I cannot wait to hear your feedback and tell us your thoughts on this seasons looks from fashion week.

Pause LaPazions, take a very deep breath because not only has New York fashionistas been treated to breathtaking extravagance but, now you will be as well!

I speaking none other than the Spring 2016 Ready-to-Wear Givenchy collections.. I know you just yelled for joy as much as I did once I got there to witness the first time that Givenchy has shown in NYC!! When it was announced during the finale showing in Paris that, the iconic brand would be coming state side-Let’s just say bells went off in our offices.

I mean the star power was in high demand and in full-support for tonight’s gala or all galas. The front row read like the whose-who of entertainers, A-listers, top Designers, Editors-in-Chiefs to socialites- I didn’t know who to look at or take a picture of or just to say well at least I’ve seen them. Carrie Underwood, Kanye and Kim Kardashian-West, Jennifer Hudson, Steven Tyler and his daughter Liv Tyler, Uma Thurman, Debby Harry, Jennifer Hudson, Designer Tory Burch plus many more (Later on I’ll give a pictures of the front row)…

This collection was like the good and bad side of Riccardo Tisci’s mind. I loved how feminine the collection felt yet, it gave you that air of luxury, sex appeal, mystique and allure. The eyelet and lace was gorgeous, sheer romantic fantasy and then the fellas gave the collection another edge and life (can you tell how excited I am over this collection)! I must give you your first look at Givenchy Spring 2016:I know beautiful airy and just breathtaking right!?

LaPazions, Kendall Jenner slayed the runway-Honey she it truly a model and looked stunning even though they bleached all the models eyebrows to look like they had none. I did find this look a little harsh and odd but, it’s art and taking you to another level mentally to deliver his vision (not sure why they couldn’t have eyebrows but, hey):

That walk was giving life to this runway and her look was intense-I really loved seeing Kendall in her real element. Like I told you this event was about the whose-who but, just seated behind everyone was fortunate fashion lovers that was selected to attend the event and they got more than they truly bargained for.

Weekend Edition:Tips on Attending Fashion Week on a Budget

Happy weekend LaPazions, we’re literally just a matter of days out from NY Fashion Week and Couture Fashion Week. I have to be honest with you all; if you haven’t had the chance or the opportunity as of yet to attend fashion week I think this is something you need to put on your list of must do’s.

With this being stated I thought I would give you a few tips on how to attend fashion week on a budget (side note: You may want to start a bit earlier with the savings for fashion week). I have five (5) top tips to give you that just may help you just a bit.

1. Sleeping Accommodations: The best advice I can give you here if to book early 2-3 months ahead this way you will be assured to get a room. You may want to look at splitting the cost with another Fashion Blogger/Photographer or a great friend that is going to fashion week or just going to be in NYC during the time of fashion week. You can also see if family or friends mind you staying with them for the week or weekend whichever you are doing. The other great tip I can give you is you can also reach out to the Hotels and their PR firms for discounted press rates (no harm no foul).

2. Getting from Point A-to-Point B: Now this is the challenge of challenges because, all your shows may not be in the same place so, grabbing a cab can be rather costly. Here is my tip for you SKIP the cabs and do public transportation. Yes you definitely read that correctly It's so much easier to go on public transportation and you can use Google Maps which will become such a beneficial aid. If you must take a cab try to see if you can split the cost with someone else that maybe going to the same venue or you can try using Uber and Lyft which offer great rates.Enter the text that you want to check for grammar, spelling, and punctuation mistakes; then click the grey button below.

3. Purchase Extra Chargers & Batteries: You will not know how much this will save you in the long run. I cannot stress how important this is because you don’t want your phone or your camera to die in the middle of the best shot you’ve seen all week. You should invest in a few portable chargers this way you can keep your phone laptop or tablet charged. Batteries will be such and important part of your fashion week as well.

4. The Need to Eat: Eating is such and important part of fashion week because, if you’re anything like me if you have no food in you all day your blood sugar ends up in your feet and you start to feel light-headed and just may pass out (That just isn’t very fashionable nor very cute). I have found it so essential to pack snacks in my tote bag-I have gone to local stores close to my hotel and they sell travel packs of peanut butter and I love caramel rice cakes and you combine the two OH MY WORD!! I like to put protein bars/granola bars in my bag, trail mix and by far do not skip out on your dosages of caffeine. I also grab a few bottles of water from my hotel, Tylenol you never know when you’ll get a headache.

Lastly, just enjoy yourself and take in all the festivities. Remember you are there to cover the shows network and develop new relationships. Try to get your content out as soon as possible and remember when fashion week ends you should be thinking of the following season and what you will do better and differently.

Red Carpet Review Live VMA’s 2015

Hello LaPazions, so last night was the VMA’s and I can honestly say the red carpet was just as uneventful as the real show. I guess I don’t need to delay on getting this review underway because; if you watched the live show last night you know we all have lost valuable brain cells from this train wreck.

We’re going to start with the host of the night Ms. Miley Cyrus. I definitely wasn't shocked by any of Miley's antics and really thought MTV is so desperate for shock and awe ratings, that they’d give this girl a platform of vulgarity and promoting smoking pot:Miley selected to wear basically nothing with a little tape covering her nipples and pieces of crystals covering her front and knee-high metallic silver platform boots to compliment her butt-less outfit Designed by Atelier Versace… How to dumb down your brand need I really say more?

Next was golden statements worn by Nicki Minaj and Britney Spears:

I didn’t think either of these gowns complimented either of these stars figure. Britney looked as if the top half of the dress was extremely too small and too tight for her particular body-shape, where Nicki however, look a little overwhelmed by the gown and couldn’t move freely in it. The gown seemed heavy and just a bit too much for her to handle and she needed someone to aid her just to walk and make the steps to receive her moon-man award.

Pause, I guess this is the new “it” girl couple that we are seeing at all the award shows now? None other than Amber Rose and Blac Chyna:Seriously, I’m really not sure why either of these women are at most of these events; other than to promote and get under the skin of their ex-baby daddy’s who by far have moved on past both of them.. Even though this look was bad they had the nerve to bring a little entourage that just equaled a hotmess.com:Alright let me get right to the elephant that is standing in the middle of the room-Kanye West.. Lord who said that this man needed to be a recipient of the Michael Jackson award? Then to top everything off they let this nut ramble for a full-eight (8) minuets about who knows what!! I hated what he decided to wear and to top things off Kim Kardashian-West just looked underwhelmed by her choice yet again: I’m going to have to insist that Kim Kardashian-West contact our very own Sonya LaRae, to help her through this second pregnancy. Kim is too beautiful to look this doughty and unpolished and she needs to wear things that will flatter and grow as she moves along in her pregnancy.. This particular gown may have been cute for her when she wasn’t pregnant but, now it just does nothing for her growing silhouette and doesn’t compliment her new baby figure, we’re going to have to stage and intervention sooner than later.

LOL!! Pharrell Williams and his wife Helen Lasichanh was on there way to pick apples and decided to stop by the VMA’s: Taylor Swift decided she was going to role deep with her girls and just take the red carpet (side note: technically there wasn’t a red carpet it was more multi-colored pieced carpet) but, Taylor select to wear a sequenced pant set by Ashish-I thought Taylor pulled off edgy and sultry without being to overt and still maintaining her style for her fans:

The Jenner-Kardashian family came to also show their support to son-in-law/bro-in-law Kanye, the ladies looked stunning and that Kylie is like a little chameleon and isn’t afraid to flip her style (wouldn’t you all love to really know what they think about Mr. West antics?):Now this is what MTV/VMA’s red carpet is all about the insanely different artistic yet, out of the box craziness that you’d expect from artist and their pseudo personalities:Wait I thought this was Lady Gaga but, found out this is singer Z-LaLa.. I had to Google her to hear who she was cause I no clue about her. Z-LaLa sings a song “Fly Away.” Google her or go to YouTube to hear her music but, Honey Gaga is calling and she wants her dress back.. LOL!!

We have two starlets that we think just owned this red carpet last night: Demi Lovato went with this peachy Nicolas Jebran dress that just hugged her curves and fit her body with pure perfection! Demi’s hair and makeup was on fleek (meaning flawless) gave that glow and flush kissed skin look was saying EVERYTHING!! Then you switch to Rita Ora who went with the Vera Wang feather bodice gown that showed just the right amount of skin and gave her a rock/couture edgy look that she owned (side note: hair wasn’t saying much at all and didn’t give that wow moment) her makeup was dramatic and sultry and I like the nude lip.

I know that Gigi Hadid is one of Taylor Swift’s girls and she is a rising supermodel but, what was up with that bad lace front wig?:Gigi wore a Emilia Wickstead gown but, I thought this gown did nothing for her. I personally felt it needed to be a little bit longer and maybe the leotard cut a little differently for her figure would have given this a little more definition.

Another one from Taylor’s girltourage is Hailee Steinfeld- Hailee opted for a white Stella McCartney caped pant suit:Hailee missed the mark with this look for us- We felt that the gold cuff necklace made her look like she had a neck brace on and that the cape was almost like a bandage.. She would have looked stunning without the cape and the necklace and maybe if it was cut off the shoulder to give it more of a trendy younger feel.

Let’s go to our couples for the night: Bella Thorne and Gregg Sulkin. They looked too cute and Bella was channeling her inner Tinker-bell and we loved all the romantic nuances:

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend looked cute together as always.. Chrissy left nothing to the imagination with this very sheer gown, her hair and makeup complimented the look, maybe just a bit more drama on the eyes but all and all she looked very nice- John, I’m not so sure what look he was going for but, I can say the leather pants and the kind of snug jacket was a no:Miguel and Nazanin Mandi was serving up sexy- This couple just seems to exude sex appeal and know what compliments their style/life. They effortlessly compliment each other when they step out on the red carpet, what great edge Miguel and Nazanin have to their own personal styles; that when the two combine you get a perfect component:

If you saw Justin Beiber’s performances (you read that correctly) when he debut his new song and then cried at the end of his performance- Might have been because, he didn’t get to see Selena Gomez after his performance because, the girltourage left just prior to him taking the stage and she looked beautiful in a sheer Calvin Kline gown:

Wait let me go back to Justin for a hot second—After being gone for 5 years this is the look you decide to hit the red carpet with? Justin, Kate Gosling gave this look up for a reason take notes please:LaPazions, we told you this red carpet wasn’t that eventful at all.. We need the mega stars like Rihanna, Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, Jennifer Lopez and several others to please start making some music so we can get a good red carpet again..

Happy weekend LaPazions, I don’t know if you are or aren’t a fan of UGG but, I must be honest with you I fell in love with the brand from my first pair that I received as a gift:I love my UGG’s as much as I love my stilettos, a chocoholic loves chocolate and a handbaganista love handbags. I say all of this to bring home my excitement over hearing the news that two brand new pop-up shops are opening one in Elizabeth NJ and the other in Boston MA. The Boston store is now open, and is located in Faneuil Hall (4 South Market Building Space 2045) a 1,764 square feet of fabulous UGG products loungewear, handbags, footwear and accessories.

Hello LaPazions, it’s that time meaning many of you are first time college students and leaving your homes for the very first time as well. With this being stated many of you have emailed us asking about the differences in high school wardrobe and college wardrobe. Have no fear LaPazions we are here to help you transition into your “adult hood!”

The first important fact that you must remember is you no longer have the strict rules on what you can or cannot wear and many of you have rocked a uniform for the past 6 years:

We’re going to give you a few tips that will help you transition your wardrobe from high school to college without feeling overwhelmed. Trust me you’ll have other things you will be overwhelmed by.

1. As I stated college has fewer rules: You will no longer have someone dictating to you what you can and cannot do so, this is a great time to experiment with looks and style until you actually find you true style. I know this all sounds easier than it really is but, once you start to give yourself permission to do "you," it will start to take shape rather quickly.

Here is a little statement that I love to give my clients that are going into college to remember:

2. Know what to throw away: Meaning I get that you loved your T-shirt with the year you graduated and all the silly things possibly on it but, realize that isn’t something that you need to make you main staple in your wardrobe. If you are sentimental keep and wear it around your dorm and just remember you are out of high school and forging a new beginning. Don’t be afraid to get ride of the kiddie backpacks or strange little hair deco.. You will develop new fetishes and likes.

3. Take your time and go through your wardrobe and select pieces that are more you or who you want to become- When you do this take your time and make sure that it is something that can be paired with a cute skirt or jeans (which we will get back to) but, let it have purpose and not because your best friend has one just like it and it reminds you of your first kiss..

4. Jeans will be your best friend: Yup you read this correctly. I don’t know many college students that don’t live in jeans and rock them in all types of colors and styles. Invest in several pair that are perfect for your particular body-type and that scream you:

5. When in doubt do without: YES please do not take that ratty pajama that your grandmother gave you when you was getting ready to go to high school.. You will see it isn’t something that will be very necessary or stylish. Transitioning takes effort and you must be willing to take the necessary steps to transition successfully into your new role in life.

6. Invest in nice lounge wear: What you don’t realize is that a lot of your time is spent in your dorm and you don’t want to look slouchy or forbid kind of slutty. We don’t want you to live in your college hoodie and PINK sweat pants from Victoria Secret. Get a few cute lounge outfits that are a little more mature and can be slipped on to make the great coffee run:

7. Get your basics: Meaning you will need a few great tank tops, black jacket, cardigan, leggings, yoga pants, cute boots/booties, sweaters, scarves, socks, tights and other little quintessential:8: Make sure you also consider the weather, this will play a major role in your wardrobe selections because, you will need pieces that can transition from cold to warm. That is very important if you are originally from a southern state that doesn’t get very cold and you’re moving up north where the weather can be rather unforgiving in the winter. You need to make sure you pack accordingly because, you don’t want to freeze your derrière off:Here is the bottom line, going to college is very exciting and offers you such a great opportunity to develop who you want to be, what you want to look like, what social networks you will or will not be apart of. You just have to remember that you are making a new direction for Y.O.U. and don’t ever allow yourself to second guess your worth.

Happy weekend LaPazions, I have to tell you I am a huge fan of this trend that we will be seeing and several will be rocking this fall. Tribal and Aztec prints have been all over the runways and even our favorite celebs have been rocking this trend:

That leads me right into this-Can any and everyone wear this hot trend? YES!! Yup, that is so true anyone can wear this trend and look fabulous, just by following a few simple rules to make this hot look work for you and your particular body-type.

1. This is one of the MOST important rules (basically to any trend or style) Make sure you are drawing attention away from the heaviest or widest part of your body. Meaning my curvy Fashion Divas- if you are blessed with all the boom-Pow hips and butt try keeping the tribal print to the top half and wearing a solid bottom; giving your body a great proportion and balance. If you place the tribal or Aztec print on your lower half you will make you hips and butt look larger and bigger than you may really want.. Vice versa if you are very small at the bottom with no hip or butt, trying flipping the trend to give you the illusion of having more than what you’ve been blessed with.

2. Use these prints in Moderation: you don’t want to over kill the look if you have a Tribal or Aztec print jumpsuit please, do not think you need to rock the feather earrings, handbag and boots.. Rule of thumb “Less is More.”

3. Mix and Match: I love seeing fashionistas rocking the Tribal/Aztec Prints with denim or with plaid-I personally think and feel this looks so chic and fashion forward.

4. Go Rustic: Don’t be afraid to wear a cute boot/booties, that will bring in a nice element great texture and balance.

2015 Teen Choice Awards Red Carpet Review

Hello LaPazions, many of you watched Sunday nights Teen Choice Awards and we had some highs and lows via the show and the red carpet. We’re going to break down our top picks that we felt were A+worthy to those that only came up to a bad C, D or F.

With that being stated let’s jump right into our very first look- It’s Lea Michelle from Glee, She wore a Monique Lhuillier dress that was too cute and just fit her figure and body-type perfectly:We gave Lea Michele’s look a B+ because, we didn’t care for the styling of her hair and we know that she tried to be “teen” appropriate but, her makeup wasn’t that great either.

It really seems as if-we're sitting heavily on the fence with the absolutely fabulous actress/singer Zendaya who wore Ashi Studio:Zendaya’s look just brought in a lot of opinions in our office.. We loved the skirt and felt that it complimented her think frame beautifully but, then the blouse, hair and makeup just lost the translation for us and we ended up agree this look only gets a B.

Wait pause for a moment I’m confused is it hot as hell out here and Willow Shields is rocking like the hottest winter outfit of the night? I’m sorry but, this is wrong on so many levels that I almost cannot put words to this look:I’m sorry this young starlet looks like she borrowed wardrobe mishap from her mothers closet didn’t have time to shop and ran into a “Thrift Store” and decided okay this will do. We’re not trying to be mean but, this look will haunt this poor girl for the rest of her professional career. Sorry to say we definitely gave this look a F (Side note: look at Willows face and pose she was owning this).

Now this next look its something so cute and almost innocent about this next actress that, even her look just gets a pass because it embodies youth and everything fun and uninhibited. It’s none other than Rowan Blanchard of Girl Meets World:We all loved this look Rowan went with like a high low and made it work. The dress is Giamba by Giambattista Vali and then she rocked it with a pair of Vans.. Seriously, what says “Teen Choice” then this look.. Rowan is wearing age appropriate clothing and just looks perfect- We gave her A+

What happened did someone say she was going to a business conference or a PTA meeting. Rita Ora, who has slain the red carpets lately just really missed the mark:Rita, we totally get that you wanted to take it down a bit because it is Teen Choice but, you took it too far down. Seriously, who thought this would be a good look? Take some notes from Rihanna when rocking a suit make sure its hot.. We gave this a true F because, this dumb her down just a tad too much.

I’m a fan of this next actress she comes on the hit show Blackish Yara Shahidi. She really rocked such a great look and again age appropriate:Yara is wearing a Rubin Singer dress and her fishtail high ponytail is too cute. This young actress knocked this look out the park and with that being stated we gave her A+

Happy weekend LaPazions, WOW!! The coveted September cover is out for Vogue US Magazine-Guess who has landed this esteemed cover? Beyoncé or Just “B”:LaPazions you have no idea how many super stars are praying to land the September cover-I guess you can say that Beyoncé is on her “Global Domination” per the storyline and teaser to her article.

Beyoncé's look is very reminiscent of her Drunk in Love video treatment i.e. the wet look-she dons a Marc Jacob Lace applique dress with a sequined purple blazer, very natural makeup, drippy hair and a look that is rather eerie as she looks down the lens of the camera of acclaimed Photographer Mario Testino:The images from Beyoncé's photo shoot, started to leak late Wednesday and, was officially confirmed by Vogue that she definitely was the cover model for September late Thursday, just before the official announcement via Vogues Twitter/Instagram accounts. This is rather huge for the mother of Blue Ivy, being this is only the third time that a woman of color has solely held this exclusive spot (honorable mentions Naomi Campbell and Halle Berry in 1989 & 2010).

Now B-hive don’t go and swarm me for this next comment but, this is my honest opinion on this shoot treatments, looks and the very odd video that she shot for this campaign. 1st: I totally didn’t get the treatment for the shoot- I’m not sure if this is to symbolize some sort of rebirth but, personally I feel they could have given her more of a high fashion/angelic approach using water, being that she has the wet look already. 2nd: The Atelier Versace gown, really what is so beautiful or artistic seeing someone’s butt crack?:Lost in translation- seriously by them (meaning Vogue and Photographer Mario Testino) taking this approach just cheapens this elegant location and what the September issue really stands for.

Hello LaPazions, well I have to tell you this is one tribute that I for one am very happy to see. I love when someone is inspired by something so beautiful that was taken away too soon. I’m speaking of none other than the famous Zimbabwean Lion Cecil, that killed in July by a very wealthy US Dentist. London is hosting it’s very own African Fashion Week, showcasing designs influenced by the continent. I was enamored by Designer Mary Martins' tribute to Cecil the lion with this stunning dress:Designer Mary Martin stated “when she saw the lions short beautiful black mane, it inspired me to design this beautiful dress.”

Breaking News: Supermodel Gets Suspended Prison Sentence from Italian Court

Hello LaPazions, I don’t know if this woman has a golden four leaf clover, 9 lives or just a bit of a great streak but, for someone who has had 4 assault charges, plead guilty to two cases and now most recently was found guilty of assaulting a photographer by the name of Gaetano Di Giovanni and severely injuring his eye, received a suspended prison sentence from the Italian Supreme Court.

The photo above was taken a day before the sentencing, so it shows that Ms. Campbell isn’t afraid of showing her humor or lack of taking things a bit more serious. Naomi had been sentenced in the past to take “Anger Management” Classes and a situation happened while she was in the class. I don’t really know what exactly will help this gorgeous supermodel but, one thing I do know it only takes one time to hit a person and they fall and hit their head and die-then you are looking at murder charges. It’s time for her to grow up and realize she should keep her hands to herself and if she doesn’t want to be photographed she needs to step way out of the lime light:Do you think Naomi should have had to server at least a month? Hello LaPazions, yes it is true that Alexander Wang is leaving Balenciaga after a three-year term with the acclaimed Parisian fashion house. This will make yet another incredibly talented Designer to leave a large fashion house to focus on their own label and design, within a three-month span.

First was Donna Karan departs from LVMH and her name sake, now Alexander Wang departs from a giant fashion house that he has had great success outside of his own label. I’m really uncertain what Lady Gaga is going to do because she rocks this label often:

The CEO of Kering confirmed that Balenciaga and Wang chose not to renew their contract, and the last show of Spring 2016 in October will mark the end of Wang’s designs for the House of Balenciaga. How it sounds is that this is a very amicable split but, you know in our industry you smile, look pretty and never allow the outside world see your dirty laundry.

We’re anxious to see what direction Balenciaga will take, in selecting a new Creative Director as-well-as; who they have their eye on to replace Alexander Wang? We’re excited to see what direction Wang will be taking his personal name sake and from the rumor mills, we hear that there maybe outside investors interested in the Designer and his label. We certainly will be keeping our ears and eyes on this situation closely:

Hey LaPazions, if you don’t know the name then you must have lived under a rock because, Manolo Blahnik is a revered about his luxury shoe Designer.. Come on any good Sexy in the City fan knows Carrie Bradshaw was Manolo addicted:I have to tell you honestly, Manolo Blahnik is the guru of guru’s-when it comes to creating fabulous shoes as well as capturing the true essence of a woman: I guess when I heard the big announcement it just didn’t come as a major shock to me because; I’ve been one who has been waiting for Manolo to drop his accessories line but, we don’t have to wait any longer because at the end of this month, Manolo will be giving us a full-collection of stunning handbags that will compliment his stunning shoes!!

YUP!! You read this correctly LaPazions’ our fabulous Designer is giving us a full-collection of handbags!! Woohoo!! Let the celebrations begin!! You must see the collection, I cannot hold back any longer:

This is simply a peek into the creative mind of such a fabulous Designer. Per Manolo Blahnik time is nothing-“I like to make things beautifully and sometimes to get something right it takes time. For the moment I would like to enjoy the bags, and I am already thinking about more bags for next season!”

Happy weekend edition LaPazions, Ellen DeGeneres’s empire is growing and she is becoming a “branding” mogul. Ellen, can add to her many talents and titles-Fashion Designer. Earlier this month, Ms. DeGeneres launched her lifestyle venture brand ED with the help of Christopher Burch at EDbyellen.com which the site had a little over 300,000 registered hits and many items quickly sold out. We just found out that Ellen had now partnered with GapKids to bring forth her next venture which is rightfully titled GapKids X ED:GapKids X ED supports, encourages young girls to embrace and celebrate their individuality as-well-as; finding their own voices. I know this is something the Ellen really advocates for because she herself struggled with this very issue in finding and celebrating her own voice and individuality. I cannot say I’m a fan of the looks or the collection as of yet because, I think it’s somewhat tomboyish and maybe pushing our young girls in a direction we’re not necessarily wanting the grunge skater girl look.

I like certain pieces in the collection which you can mix and match with other really cute things from GapKids. Here is your full-first look at the collection:

Hello LaPazions, I know all of you Swifties are going to lose your mind over this news!! Taylor Swift will be launching her first clothing line (not simply a piece) but, a full-collection in Shanghai, China which will coincide with the 1989 World tour; that is set to hit the country in November.

Taylor has collaborated with Heritage 66 company but, in true Swift fashion it'll be sold on one of “THE” largest e-commerce companies in China, none other than JD.com – This announcement is perfectly timed because, it comes on the heels of JD.com announcing they have opened its first virtual mall in the US. Now talk about lining up all your ducks, this is one savvy business women if I may say so myself.

Most people don’t know that Taylor is basically her own manager and makes the last call on what songs are going on to her CD, to the treatments for her tour and much more. Look this is the young woman who took on Apple over having artist getting paid in the trial phase and won:

I for one am not actually surprised at Taylor Swift throwing her hat into the fashion ring. Why? One thing we all know is that she loves fashion and loves making statements through her clothing. This young Millennial is one to watch-she has a huge influence on pop-culture and with young people ranging from ages 12+-20 something’s. Taylor Swift is huge on social media and that is what drives sales with most brands and she has Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest on lock.. Hey Swifties you can now really rock your girls look..
