Since the beginning of time, people have tried to define love and what it is all about. People fall in love with each other, disappoint further on, hate each other, and finally break up. All too familiar lines, huh? Well, it seems that people actually do not differentiate between love and passion.

But not with Mark and BJ! The passion and love enveloping these two intertwine and go on for like eternity! From the moment we were introduced to each other at Shell Filinvest, to doing the actual prenuptial shots at Amadeo, Tagaytay, Mark and BJ were the epitome of attractive interaction. And we kid you not!

And such shows on the pictures from Larawan Pilipinas! The scenes – all drawn with light – express the passion and love that Mark and BJ have for each other. From the gazebos to the main house, from the flatland steps to the waterfalls, the pictures hint that both of them genuinely look forward to settling down and spending the rest of their lives with one another. In the end, just wanting to be happy. Together. As one.

Mark and B.J., each marriage has its own reason. Yours has it all! You have successfully intertwined love and passion in your lives. We eagerly look forward to being with you on your happiest day yet – your wedding day. Congratulations and best wishes!

Here's a hapi new year to one and all...cheers! Just after the noise on the streets everywhere ended, after every bottle of alcohol emptied and when everybody was supposed to have a very deserved rest...

Larawan Photography prepared for another shoot. Yes, we had a scrimpy two hours of sleep, when everybody is expected to get up only by lunch time. Can you believe that!!!....yes we did.

3am...we checked our gears then packed our things. Headed to NUEVA ECIJA for the first prenup shoot of the year. Ooops, we took a bath. Just so you know!

It was a very smooth ride coming from Makati Fort Bonifacio til Balintawak. But once we entered the North Luzon Expressway it was almost zero visibility. First we thought it was fog, but how could it be. Having realized that were getting close to BOCAUE the firecracker capital of the Philippines, we concluded that it was because of the millions of peso burnt that night.

We did not stop, did not pause. But believe you me friends, there was silence inside the car...haha. We must have all thought of the incident that happened at SCTEX a couple of days ago. It is love for photography, it is the passion for clicking that made us through.

Here are sample pics. Enjoy, as much as we did shooting them. We have lots of watermelons and mangoes as our take home surprise.

Was browsing our Larawan Photography’s archives when I came upon this set from June 2009 – Marie Antoinette Uy’s debut party!

Overflowing drinks and a ton of food were the order of the day amidst the fun and excitement brought about by Marie Antoinette’s introduction into society.

For those not in the know, everything was planned and prepared by the debutante herself! And I kid you not!

Marie Antoinette Uy’s debut was held at the rooftop of City Gardens, Makati City.

For one reason or another, more and more people are loving photography; WHY NOT! its easier than painting, it's cool and it's fun. CLICHE! Well, partially telling the truth is actually not lying.

I have a friend who is already a resident of Singapore and only recently that we found out that we became potty with the same thing, PHOTOGRAPHY. So when he visited the Philippines last August 2009, and on the spur of the moment we decided to do a shoot . To make it more occupying, we invited some models to pose for us.

Because it was a Sunday (most of the studios in Makati were closed, or lack of connection perhaps) we decided to do it wheresoever possible.The experience turned out to be not so nice. We were ask to move out several times, not to mention the militaries with armalite on hand asking us to leave. JEEZ!, speaking of the concomitant beauties of photography! Thus, the day ended with several bottles of beer earlier as expected.

September 25 - he was here again and before that day arrived everything was already planned. The shoot was scheduled on the 28th but as we all know (how can we easily forget) Ondoy's harrowing experience tried to stop it again. Only this time, CLICKING prevailed. We did it in my own grounds...

What was that regarding the partially telling the truth concern, GO FIGURE!!! Enjoy the pics as much as we did shooting them. Larawan Photography with Singapore friend Ja-mes and FPPF stalwart Jojo. And I kid you not!

The Probe interview was conducted at the AMF-Puyat Superbowl at the Makati Cinema Square in Makati City. It highlights the illustrious career of Efren Bata Reyes, incuding his childhood, money game matches, unforgettable moments in the sport, local and international wins, his rise from poverty to becoming a local hero, and more!

Larawan Photography: It's J.C. & The AnitoKid!

Photography: Drawing with light. A passion.

Both of us, Jason Calubaquib, aka J.C., and Leslie Mapugay, aka The AnitoKid, were very much surprised when we learned that we acquired (separately) our respective gears in December 2008 – and on the same day! Coincidence? Maybe. Destiny? Definitely!

Nothing was planned – it just happened! We had different goals for acquiring our equipment, i.e., J.C. wanted to learn how to draw with light, while The AnitoKid wanted to upgrade his equipment. And that was that.

Fast-forward two months – February 2009. We, together with our best friend Lito de Castro, decided to go to Baguio City, the Summer Capital of the Philippines. ‘Twas two days of fun filled with non-stop shoots at the Panagbenga Festival! And believe you me, we took pictures of everything for like 16-18 hours/day! After two weeks, we decided to go back again to the City of Pines for two more days! Lo! And behold! Everything – logic and reason - unfolded before us! Jason found a new love, while The AnitoKid rediscovered his (he was into film photography in high school).

In the ensuing months, we turned our respective loves into one great passion – LARAWAN PHOTOGRAPHY! And a successful one at that! It is with great pride and joy to inform friends and all that in just a few months, Larawan Photography has carved a name for itself in competitions and club contests! Moreover, it has made some big strides in the business side of things. How big? Consider these: Larawan Photography has realized a number of satisfied clients and has been the word of mouth in various events, e.g., weddings, debuts, birthdays, and sports entertainment! But wait! There’s more! Did you know that Larawan Photography is now the Official Photographer of Hard Rock Café, Makati City, Air Force One, DMC Philippines, and the Makati Pool Players Association? Yes, we are! And we kid you not!

And why the blog? We sincerely believe that the blog is the perfect way for Larawan Photography to share with everyone some of our unforgettable shoots! After all, we don’t just take pictures. We preserve memories. And we tell the story. No more. No less.

Without further ado, here is a YouTube video - a compilation of some of the shots we took during our first paid gig – the Christening of Sasha Castro Dy – the granddaughter of former Isabela Governor Faustino Dy, Jr. The pictures were taken on May 24, 2009, at the Sanctuario de San Antonio in Forbes Park, Makati City.
