How to Get Casino Comps

Background
Visitors to Cruzino.com often ask how to get more comps at Casinos.
Obviously, everyone likes to get "free stuff". But its especially true
when you are doing business at a Casino - you'd like to get a few perks
for depositing your money there! In order to get more comps when you
play, you need to understand the a few key factors about why casinos
offer comps. There is definitely no exact science to guarantee that
you'll be comp'd in your next visit, but this article hopes to
illustrate some of the do's and dont's to get better comps.

What are comps?
The term "comps" is short for
"complimentaries", or things that the House will give to its patrons
for free in exchange for playing at their Casino. Comps come in all
shapes and sizes. Examples of comps include: Free room upgrades (from a
standard to a suite, for example) Free chips to play with Free meals
(breakfasts, lunches, or dinners) Free gifts (keychains, pens, hats,
cards, etc) Free tickets to shows Free drinks Comps vary in size based
on the individual player, the casino, the circumstances, the pit boss,
and luck. The largest comp I've personally heard of was a casino
gifting a free total stay at their casino for a week - including
airfare, meals, and accomodations in their top-of-the-casino suite! And
then there is the legendary incident with Larry Flynt (owner of Hustler
Magazine) getting a $60,000 necklace comp'd for his wife. But Mr. Flynt
routinely bets $80,000 per hand at Blackjack! These large comps are
rare and usually reserved for those who gamble the most, however other
types of comps are available to most everyone if you know how to get
them.

Why do Casinos offer comps?
Casinos offer comps for basically one reason: They offer comps to make
you come back and spend more money in their casino This is obvious to
most, of course. But it is important to remember. When you ask the
casino for comps, if they don't think you are going to come back
anyway, they are unlikely to just give you free stuff. Sure, they want
you to be happy in their casino, but if a player isn't coming back,
they are unlikely to offer comps.
Notice that I didn't say that you had to be a high-roller in order to
get comps. The fact is that 75-85% of all comps go to "the little
guys". That's great news for most of us!

Even more fascinating is that you don't necessarily even have to gamble
in order to get comps. The casino industry is about all forms of
entertainment. Casino revenues come from gaming, lodging, restaurants,
sporting events, entertainment, and a host of other inflows. Visitors
that stay at casinos will often receive comps via the mail after their
stay encouraging them to come back for low prices and sometimes even
for free. But those "mail-offers" aren't the fun types of comps. The
rest of this article will deal with the "comps" that you get by
requesting them from the casino while you are there.

Casinos recognize that there are lots of players out there that are
just trying to get something for free. As long as the cost is small
enough, the casino is likely to do it. But for any substantial comps,
the casino has to think you are going to payoff. In other words, you
need to be coming back.

There is one other circumstance where the casino will offer comps. That
is to make sure that guests don't leave their casino completely irate.
Many visitors to casinos chose the casino based on recommendations and
referrals from friends, co-workers and family. As such, if a player
walks away unhappy, even if they are never coming back, the casino may
offer the player some comps. Mistakes are made everywhere, and Casinos
are no exception. So, when major mistakes are made, some casinos will
offer comps to placate the angry customer.

What is a comp card? How do I get rated?
To increase your chances of getting comped, the casino wants to know
that you spend lots of money at their casino. The best way to do this
is to allow them to track your gaming progress via a "comp card". Most
of the major casinos offer comp cards. Once you have one, you are
officially "rated" -- Congratulations!
Always use your comp card. If you gamble without using your card, the
casino doesn't know that you are spending your money with them. Make
sure you hand your card to your dealer whenever you play.

When you use a card in slot machines, the casino keeps track of exactly
when you started playing, how much you won and lost, and when you
stopped playing. When you use your card at a table, the casino
basically tracks the amount of time you spend playing. If you do spend
a lot with them, the dealer or pit-boss will manually mark that on your
record. Make sure you get their help to recognize the amount you
gambled before you leave the table. Note - because this is a manual
process - if you just play for 5-15 minutes, you may not get anything
marked on your comp card.

How are comps calculated?
Remember - comps are about making the player happy and making sure the
player comes back...
Comps are calculated differently at all casinos. Roughly, the casino
determines the comps based on the amount of time you played, the
average amount you are betting in a hand, and the type of game you are
playing.

When you play $5 blackjack for an hour at a casino, don't expect to be
comp'd much. The casino has roughly a 2% edge in blackjack. Playing for
about 1 hour, you can play about 60 blackjack hands. So you are
gambling a total of ~$300. The 2% edge provides $6 to the casino. The
casino is willing to comp you about 25-35% of that for that round of
play.

Notice that when playing at the tables, its important to play for a
significant amount of time. Don't expect to be comped well if you play
for only a few minutes unless you are placing large bets.

Tips for maximizing your comps while playing
Here are some tips to keep in mind while you are accumulating "points"
on your comp card: Stay in the hotel at the same casino where you play
most. Try to stay for at least two nights. Always use your comp card
when you play. Always be polite while playing. When you sit down to
play, stay for at least an hour. Don't be greedy. Don't ask for comps
prematurely. Dress nicely. Tip the waitresses and dealers. Save your
comp card for when you return! If you use the restaurants, charge it to
your room. If you use other casino/hotel services, charge it to your
room. Tips for redeeming comps
Alright, so you've read everything here on Cruzino.com, you played for
several hours at blackjack, poker, and slots. How do you redeem your
comps?
First, understand that it tends to be more difficult to earn comps at
the well-known mega-resorts since visitors are attracted to their
casinos based on other factors. Further, the fancy casinos attract
high-rollers, who receive more attention than the average player. In my
opinion, your best bet for great comps is at the less-popular casinos.

Also, remember that comps are about enticing more money out of your
wallet. If the casino Host thinks you are about to leave and never come
back, he's not incented to help you much.

Always be polite. If you are rude the the Host, he's not going to be
interested in helping you out. Make his life easier, and he'll make
your life easier too. Don't be greedy. Don't feel intimidated. The
casino staff are there to make your stay a happy one. They don't mind
being asked for comps. Good luck!

Nobody comes to a casino simply because they want to have fun.
Underneath this vague reason is the desire to bring home cash, and lots
of it. Indeed, casino gambling is a way to get your hands on lots of
cash in a short time. However, it can also be the way to lose cash in
an even shorter time. The thing with casino gambling is that the games
have different pay-out rates. For example, spending half an hour in the
slots will not help you reach the hundred dollar mark unless you win
the jackpot. But if you go and spend time at the roulette table, you
can reach the 200-dollar mark without waiting for 30 minutes. Likewise,
you could lose all your casino gambling money at the roulette table in
a shorter time than it will take you to lose $10 at the slots.

The trick to maximize casino gambling profits is to choose the right
games to play. High pay-out games usually give you more money for
limited funds. However, skill is highly needed in playing these games.
Being a novice and attempting this game with the more experienced
players only make you lose your funds. The rules may vary in different
casinos, but still the most favored high-paying games are blackjack and
video poker.

Depending on your casino's blackjack rules, blackjack is a game wherein
a player can expect high returns providing he plays wisely. There are
many variations in blackjack rules like the number of card decks,
splitting and doubling bets, and other rule variations. Years back,
most casino gambling websites offer great odds. If played
strategically, the player even gets valuable advantage. However, rules
change and now, the odds are in the casino's side regardless of the
player's strategy. So to ensure good pay-outs in playing blackjacks, it
is to your favor to seriously consider being an advance blackjack
player.

Of course, not everyone is born with jacks and aces in their hands. But
learning good blackjack strategy is easy. There are many free and
downloadable blackjack software tools that you can download and
practice on. Also, blackjack books are available at most bookstores.
These books are usually authored by top blackjack players who have
gained fame and fortune in playing the game. Don't frown because
nothing is easy these days. Being a winner requires effort, so that at
least you can enjoy yourself doing it. With regular blackjack practice,
you could soon be the next casino gambling blackjack king.

Video poker is another casino gambling game that has a reputation for
high pay-outs. However, like blackjacks, video poker rules and pay-out
schemes vary among casinos. Examining the casino's pay tables is
important before starting video poker, or any game for that matter.
Usually, there are different video poker machines at a given casino. Be
sure to choose the one with best pay tables, otherwise, you're just
giving the casino your money without a fight. Good pay tables are
assurance that the game you're playing actually favors you.

Good video poker machines usually allow over a hundred percent return
the longer you play the game. Also, despite being similar to slot
machines, video poker is not a game of chance. This means that you have
an actual advantage depending on your skills. Consequently, you cannot
play the game and expect a high pay-out without understanding the basic
rules and arming yourself with useful techniques. Casino gambling is
fun, but it does entail some work.

Most casino gambling websites and traditional casinos offer both games.
Betting experience and game skills improve your chances of winning the
games and getting high pay-outs. Though playing requires effort in
learning the games and mastering the skills, it does have its rewards.
Besides, casino gambling is more fun if you go home laden with cash
than big debts.

Baccarat is sometimes known as the cousin of blackjack. The reason for
the comparison is due to the basic game rules. In blackjack, you need
to achieve a hand closer to 21 than the dealer's. In baccarat, the hand
closer to 9 is the winner. Baccarat is also known as the king of casino
games and is one of the oldest card games still played at casinos
today.

Unlike blackjack, in baccarat a player can bet on whether his/her hand
or the dealer's will win. The three betting options in baccarat are
player, banker, or tie. Betting on the player will play even money.
Wagering on the banker is the most popular bet but it is important to
know that casinos charge a 5 percent commission when the player bets
for the house. Players shouldn't let this discourage them, though, the
reason the house charges this fee is due to the fact that the banker
wins, statistically, more times than the player.

The least common of the wagers is the tie, which pays eight to one.
This is one of the least-profitable wagers a person can place at a
casino, the house edge is extremely high.

The card values are easy to remember, face cards and ten are worth
zero, ace cards are worth one and number cards are face value. A player
receives two cards and can only receive one more hand during the game
play.

Similar to blackjack, baccarat is a game where a single player faces
off against the dealer. Baccarat, even with its glamorous image, is
primarily a game of chance. Also unlike blackjack, a solid strategy
still does not make this a 'beatable' game.

Baccarat is considered one of the most glamorous of the casino games.
Due, in part, to the fact that for centuries this was a game played by
the French royalty and to the fact that it was featured prominently in
many of the 007 films as James Bond's game of choice.

Even though the game is fairly simple to learn and master, it is one of
the more popular choices for high-rolling, VIP players. Online casinos
offer an array of baccarat betting limits but many land-based casinos
only offer baccarat in high-minimum limits and, oftentimes, in a
separated area from the main casino to offer the VIP players privacy.

There is an array of online tutorials available for beginning baccarat players.

Some other good resources online for beginning players are Ildado's (http://www.ildado.com/baccarat_glossary.html) baccarat glossary and Online-Casino's (http://www.online-casino.com) free practice game play.

Ever since I could remember entering the workplace, I often looked
forward to the day I could throw in my hat and call it quits. I
especially felt that way immediately after my alarm clock stirred me
from my slumber on a snowy winters morning. Half awake, I would crawl
out from the comfort of my warm bed, take a steaming hot shower, and
dress myself for the elements. It was what was to come next that I
despised like nothing else. Shocked awake by the too brisk morning air,
I would be met by a windshield waiting to be scraped and a
white-knuckle snail paced commute to work. Awaiting me at my
destination was a boss who expected too much and appreciated very
little. It didn't take me long to start dreaming of retirement.

The days passed, as well as the years, until finally one summer morning
that long awaited moment arrived. Retirement. The newness of my freedom
delighted me. I indulged in long-forgotton hobbies, tinkered around the
house, and read the paper from front to back cover. I set up card games
with my other retired friends and planned outings with my adult
children.

But then winter came along, and everything changed. A few friends fled
to warmer climates. Those that stayed hibernated. I found myself
tagging along my wife around the house, longing to fight the lonliness
that had started to engulf me.

My son saw my plight and had delivered to me his solution. A computer.
More precisely, the internet. With patience he tried to teach this old
dog how to surf the web. "Type in what you want to look up" he told me.
I knew what I missed most, and with a grin typed in "POKER". As the
search results displayed before me, one in particular caught my eye;
CasinoDawgs (http://www.casinodawgs.net).
An odd website name, no doubt, but it stood out in the crowd of others.
I clicked on the link and my winter depression instanty lifted.

It was then that I discovered online poker playing. It was a world that
I never knew existed. In the warmth of my own home, all by myself, I
could spend idle time playing my beloved poker. Heck, I could even play
in my pajamas! Suddenly winter didn't seem so bleak.

I am not
a gambler. But every-so-often I get an itch to try my luck at a hand of
blackjack or a round on the slots. It's the same urge that warrants me
to randomly ask for a lottery ticket or circle lotto numbers on a quick
trip to the local convenience store. You got to be in it to win it, I
tell myself, thinking about a life filled with exotic vacations, fancy
cars, and elegant dining. Even just a win of a few dollars would help
pay for all the typical day to day expenses of life. So with
anticipation, I cross my fingers and buy a ticket or two.

Usually it is when I win a few dollars that I dream about a trip to
Vegas. I have been there before. During my trip I took up occupancy at
the dollar slots and $5 blackjack table. I guess you wouldn't call me a
high roller. The $100 gambling money I took along managed to last me
the entire vacation. Even though I didn't bring home the progressive
jackpot, like I was hoping, I had a good time trying.

It was during one of my speals about wanting to book a vacation to
Vegas that a friend of mine told me about online gambling. "If your
going just to play a few dollars, might as well", he informed me. At
first I wasn't too sure how I felt about turning my computer into a
casino. But then his logic made sense. Why spend the money on airfare,
hotel accommodations, and a rental car to risk a mere $100. For a
small-time player like myself, it really was kind of silly to incur all
those expenses and take the vacation time from work.

It was then that I learned how big of a business online gambling is.
Because it is a convenient and inexpensive way for those who do not
live near a casino to be able to get in on the action, online gambling
has become a hugely popular past time for millions around the world. I
felt like I was just let in on a big secret. Gambling without having to
deal with airport parking and security or the crowds. The casino would
come to me. I liked it.

But I wasn't too sure about risking my hard earned $100 online. My
mouth rumbled out my doubts to my friend. How do I know which online
casino is legit? My computer doesn't have a coin deposit. How do I
wager my bets? And if I win, how do I get my money?

My friend led me to my computer and did a quick search. In an instant
he brought up sites dedicated to being online casino guides. One in
particular, CasinoDawgs (http://www.casinodawgs.net),
caught our attention with their extensive array of information and real
casino feel. With a few clicks I was being told which casinos were safe
to risk my money at, as well as the ins-and-outs of online gambling.
There were instructions for all sorts of casino games, and even better,
hints to help me win. I was surprised to see sections on Casino
Bonuses, which in essence is free money the different online casinos
were offering me to come and play at their site. The more I read, the
more enticed I became. It was like a modern day trip to Vegas. My
journey into virtual gambling had begun.

reviews, exclusive bonuses, live poker tournament feeds, and more.

want to learn how to beat roulette? Well you must know one thing. There
is nothing concrete. There can NEVER be a guarantee of winning. BUT you
can stack the chips in yoru favor.

I suggest, and I emphasize that word, Suggest that you dont play the 2
to 1 odds very often. Although you can win, more or less your going to
slowly dwindle away a lot of money. I have seen it a thousand times,
myself included. Now if playing the numbers scares you think of it this
way. If you play just the 2 to 1 odds, then you have a 50% chance to
lose.

If you play the numbers and you spend a dollar each round, 25 cents on
each number. it would take 9 rounds of not hitting numbers for you to
not make your money back.

Now if you really want a suggestion thats going to help you, i suggest you visit http://bigjdawg.roule.hop.clickbank.net and listen to there advice which is much more concrete and can almost guarantee your winning. Good luck to you.

PART 1: GENERAL RULES AND DO'S AND DON'TS

------------------------------------------

10 HELPFUL TIPS TO REMEMBER WHEN PLAYING ROULETTE - While using the AdvancedRouletteFlaw System.

#1- NEVER PLAY AT A PUBLIC TABLE (unless you want to watch how others
are playing), ONLY PRIVATE. THIS SAVES TIME AND WILL PREVENT OTHERS
FROM SEEING YOUR STRATEGY. No one else will be using your strategies,
because this is a one-of a kind system. #2- NEVER PLAY FOR TOO LONG,
THIS WILL BREAK YOUR CONCENTRATION AND YOU MAY DEVIATE FROM THE SYSTEM.
I RECOMMEND 100.00 PER DAY IN 25.00 SESSIONS. JUST LOGOUT OF THE CASINO
AFTER EACH 25.00 PROFIT YOU WIN. DO THIS 4 TIMES PER DAY, AND YOU HAVE
AN EXTRA 700.00 PER WEEK--If you have a lot of money you can fool the
computer with small bets and beat it with large bets (you'll understand
this later) Also when you get to a grand (1,000.00) you can make 100.00
per day very very easily and in less time. #3-NEVER USE ANY OF YOUR OWN
MONEY TO PLAY WITH. GAMBLING CAN BE ADDICTIVE, SO YOU WANT TO ONLY USE
THE HOUSE'S MONEY. I AM GOING TO SHOW YOU HOW TO PLAY WITH ONLY THIER
MONEY SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO RISK A CENT OF YOUR OWN... AND REGARDLESS
YOU WILL WIN EVERYTIME AS LONG AS YOU FOLLOW THIS SYSTEM. #4-DON'T
BREAK FROM THE SYSTEM AT ALL! I HAVE DESIGNED THIS TO DEFEAT THE
COMPUTER SO IF YOU CHANGE IT, IT WILL NOT WORK ANYMORE. DO EXACTLY AS I
SAY AND IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR DO NOT UNDERSTAND SOMETHING 100%
YOU SHOULD EMAIL ME TO CONFIRM. ALSO YOU NEED TO PLAY IN THEIR "FUN"
MODE WHICH IS THE SAME AS REAL MODE, EXCEPT YOU DONT PLAY FOR REAL
MONEY AND THEY GIVE YOU AN UNLIMITED AMOUNT OF FUN MONEY TO PRACTICE
WITH. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE SYSTEM DOWN BEFORE GOING TO PLAY FOR
REAL....I recommend AT LEAST 3 days of practice before going in for
real....even if you feel you understand it 100% #5-I DON'T RECOMMEND
TAKING RISKS. I RECOMMEND FOLLOWING THE SYSTEM TO THE TEE. I KNOW SOME
PEOPLE LIKE TO TAKE RISKS AND YOU CAN MAKE A FORTUNE DOING THAT, BUT I
DON'T RECOMMEND IT. I have personally lost a lot of my money many times
doing this. USE YOUR PROFITS (FOR INSTANCE 1.00) TO PLAY THE SLOTS!!
YOU WILL DO EXCEPTIONALLY WELL IF YOU SWITCH BETWEEN GAMES EVERYTIME
YOU WIN 1.00 OR MORE GO USE IT ON THE SLOTS, AND THIS STRATEGY IN
ITSELF WILL MAKE YOU VERY DECENT MONEY!! #6-THE KEY TO BEATING THE
COMPUTER IS TO CHANGE STRATEGIES/PATTERNS OFTEN. INFACT CHANGE
EVERYTIME YOU WIN. ALSO SPIN WITHOUT BETTING TO SEE WHAT THE COMPUTER
DOES (THIS WILL ALL BE EXPLAINED IN DETAIL LATER IN THE GUIDE) DO NOT
MAKE ANY PATTERN OUT OF YOURSELF. AFTER YOU READ THE ENTIRE GUIDE,
REFER BACK TO THESE TIPS, AS THIS INFO WILL MAKE MORE SENSE THEN. NEVER
BET IN A PATTERN (YOU WILL UNDERSTAND WHAT THIS MEANS LATER IN THE
GUIDE) THIS MAY DRAW A PATTERN TO YOU. INSTEAD MIX UP YOUR BETS. EVEN
BET 1.00 (IF YOU LOSE, IT DOESN'T MATTER, BECAUSE THIS COULD BE
ESSENTIAL FOR CHANGING YOUR STRATEGY) ON ANYTHING THAT IS NOTHING LIKE
YOUR LAST BET, AND THEN GO BACK TO THE SYSTEM. #7-DEPOSIT TO THE CASINO
USING NETELLER, OR YOU CAN QUICKLY DO IT BY CALLING THEM BY PHONE.
ONLINE, CREDIT CARDS OFTEN GET DECLINED BECAUSE THE BANKS DON'T LIKE TO
HAVE TO DO WITH GAMBLING.(BUT THEY DO WORK MANUALLY ON THE PHONE AND
THE CASINO HAS A TOLL FREE #) EMAIL ME IF YOU NEED HELP WITH THIS STEP.
#8-DON'T GET NERVOUS OR STRESSED OUT, BECAUSE YOU CAN FEEL CONFIDENT
THAT THIS WORKS EVERYTIME ONCE YOU IMPLEMENT IT IN FUN MODE AND SEE FOR
YOURSELF, DON'T BE AFRAID TO PLAY FOR REAL. REMEMBER, YOU ARE GOING TO
BE USING THE CASINOS MONEY, NOT YOURS. CONFIDENCE AND BELIEF IS A MUST.
(The mind is a VERY powerful thing) #9- DO NOT GO IN WITH THE ATTITUDE
THAT YOU ARE GOING TO LOSE. THIS WILL BRING NEGATIVE ENERGY TO THE
TABLE AND YOU'LL MAKE ALL SORTS OF MISTAKES AND MOST LIKELY, YOU WILL
LOSE. GO IN KNOWING YOU ARE GOING TO WIN! #10-USE YOUR SMALL PROFITS TO
PLAY OTHER GAMES OF CHANCE. THIS CASINO IS VERY GENEROUS AND YOU NEVER
KNOW WHAT YOU MIGHT WIN. I MAKE MONEY DOING THIS ALL THE TIME. FOR
INSTANCE, LET'S SAY YOU'RE GOAL FOR THE DAY WAS 75.00 BUT YOU ENDED UP
MAKING 82.00 I WOULD RECOMMEND USING THE EXTRA 7.00 TO BET ON SLOTS, OR
CRAPS, OR WHATEVER GAME YOU LIKE. HOPE TO GET LUCKY OR PLAY THE RIGHT
MACHINE AND YOU WILL MOST LIKELY WIN. I RECOMMEND THUNDERING 888 SLOT
AS I WIN ALL THE TIME ON THAT. IT IS A "LOOSE" MACHINE WHICH MEANS IT
PAYSOUT MORE THAN IT TAKES IN. ALMOST ALL CASINOS HAVE AT LEAST ONE
LOOSE MACHINE TO MAKE UP FOR THE TIGHT ONES. JUST LAST NIGHT, I HIT THE
3 8'S IN A ROW WHICH IS THE 2ND BIGGEST JACKPOT. I HIT IT ON MY 2ND TRY
SO I SPENT 50 CENTS TO DO SO (I WAS USING QUARTERS) AND I WON 400
QUARTERS WHICH IS 100.00 ON ONE SPIN! JUST AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT A 1.00
PROFIT CAN BRING IF YOU'RE LUCKY.

I also bet 1.00 on SNAKE EYES(double 1 in craps) a lot which I only
have an extra 1.00 or when I convert my "comp points" into a 1.00 (for
every 100.00 you wager, they will give you a free 1.00) Snake Eyes pays
back 31.00 if you win. A lot of times it hits on the first try, I don't
know why, it is just the way their computer casino software is
programmed I guess. This is nothing like a real casino......keep that
in mind. This is all about the computer at this casino. NEVER make ANY
sort of pattern out of yourself as the computer will catch on. Only do
this if you plan to fool the computer meaning you create a pattern
because you will then know what the computer is going to do in response
to your pattern and you can suddenly change your strategy or bet on the
place where you know the computer is going to hit. It reacts pretty
much the same way everytime to the different patterns you may do.

Also I recommend spinning without betting everytime after you logout
and come back to the casino. This is when they seem to review your last
strategies the most and try to fight them automatically at the
beginning. Just let them pass. Now you can move on to The Strategy:
Part 1:
http://advancedrouletteflaw.com/the_strategy_part_1.html

About the Author: Aaron is the webmaster and co-creator of http://advancedrouletteflaw.com.
An acutal guide that will show you how to benefit from flaws in a
certain casino's software. The product is backed by a triple money back
guarantee.

With the
Internet Gambling Prohibition Act going before the American Senate we
may see the end of online gambling and sportsbook betting coming to an
end in the United States if this bill is passed. What the American
Government fails to understand is that nobody should have control over
the internet as this is a global way of commerce and communication for
all citizens of the world.

The American Government should learn from the past that more
that you restrict people from access to a product or service the more
that people will seek to get these products or services illegally. The
National Prohibition of Alcohol from 1920 to 1933 is proof of the
failure of trying to restrict people from a product that they wanted.

If anything the National Prohibition of Alcohol promoted
organized crime, made millionaires of those who ran liquor illegally
into the United States and corrupted public officials who were part of
the illegal operations. Please check the following article written by
Mark Thornton who was the O. P. Alford III Assistant Professor of
Economics at Auburn University in 1991. http://www.cato.org/pubs/pas/pa-157.html.

Concerning the Internet Gambling Prohibition Act and claims of
money laundering by these offshore gambling establishments, I have been
unable to find public information on this to substantiate this claim on
the internet. If they are also worried about people becoming addicted
to online gambling, how about those that have become addicted to
playing at the land based casinos in the United States.

It is estimated that gambling in one form or another is an
approximate seventy to seventy five billion dollar a year industry in
the United States. Types of gambling includes bingo, lotteries and land
based gambling established within the United States as well as online
casinos and sportsbooks that operate outside of the United States.

The estimate for 2005 was that 12 billion dollars was gambled
online either playing at online casinos, poker rooms or online
sportsbooks. The United States Government claims this money has left
the country, well that is not true.

As most online casinos, poker rooms and sportsbooks pay back
approximately 96% of their take back to the players who gamble that
means that $11,580,000,000 came back to the United States. That means
that $480,000,000 was kept by the online casinos, poker rooms and
sportsbooks.

As these online casinos, poker rooms and sportsbooks have
affiliate webmasters to pay they also make payments to them. You will
find that they average for the affiliate is 30% commission and that
means $144,000,000 goes back into the United States and taxes are then
collected on these monies.

What the American Government should be more concerned about is
the pressing problems in their own country of an increasing national
debt that is increasing by close to 2 billion dollars a day since
September 30, 2005. With the National Debt close to 8.4 Trillion
Dollars they better worry about getting their spending under control.

The National Debt per person in the United States is over $28,000
per person. Comparing this to their neighbors to the north in Canada
they have a National Debt of 600 billion in Canadian Dollars or
equivalent to 522 billion in American Dollars. Having a population of
close to 33 million that means their debt per person is $15,820 in
American Dollars and the National Debt in Canada has remained unchanged
since 1999.

Another concern the American public should be more aware of also is
the cost of the War in Iraq and how it is contributing to the ever
growing National Debt of the American Government. With the cost of the
War in Iraq over 295 billion and growing the cost has been $1,182 per
person so far. This means that War in Iraq has so far contributed to
4.2% of the individual debt of $28,000 per person in the United States.

Please check the following three websites for more information on the above topics.

http://costofwar.com/index.html

http://havenworks.com/us/debt/

http://nationalpriorities.org/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1

My personal feeling with the Internet Gambling Prohibition Act
is the American Government should let people be responsible for their
own actions not the government to take control of those actions. If
people are allowed to gamble throughout the United States freely at
land based casinos, bingo halls or purchasing lottery tickets then the
same should be for online gambling and sportsbook betting.

Texas Holdem Poker

Money Management Gambling Tips

Before you start playing texas holdem poker you have to have a game
plan that is a happy medium between walking away after losing your
bankroll or walking away with your account over flowing with your
winnings. See how the pros create an online poker strategy.

Understand the rules

In any form of online gambling, to be a winner you have to take money
management seriously. Every player knows the rules, but few follow
them. If you want to win at texas holdem poker and beat the casinos,
follow the money management rules.

Check your frame of mind

Many players go in saying they're only going to use a certain amount of
money, because that is all they're prepared to lose. First of all, no
one is prepared to lose. This thinking puts you in the wrong frame of
mind for winning. It's better to know that you can cope with the loss,
if it happens. But, go in believing you will win.

Check your attitude

Players who consistently lose do so because they don't approach the
game with a winning attitude. A Winning attitude isn't going to change
the odds for texas holdem poker. But it will definitely affect your
chances of winning, no two ways about it.

Budget your bankroll

The most important rule in all gambling is to never play at a level
that exceeds what you can afford to lose. This goes for financially as
well as emotionally. Playing with money that you "need" is just plain
foolish.

Knowing when to quit

Start with a fixed amount of money and set a target for yourself. How
much money do you want to win? Once you've hit it, be satisfied with
it. If you decide to continue to play with your winnings - that's
great. But, if you start losing and you lose your winnings...STOP! It's
not the casino's money. It's your money, you won it. So don't get
suckered into that type of thinking.

Chasing losses

If you go over your limit, it's time to take a break. Don't chase your
losses and never pull out your credit card! Instead, go and take a
break to get your head clear and your attitude straight.

Avoid alcohol

This shouldn't have to mentioned here, but always play texas holdem
poker sober. If you and your buddies had a few....stay away from the
games.

Get rest

Never play when you're tired. It's difficult to think clearly when you're exhausted. Wait until you are rested, then play.

Have fun

Remember, online gambling is a form of entertainment, so have fun. You
can never go wrong if you keep in mind you're gambling to get
satisfaction out of the game and not to just win money.

The origins of blackjack are hotly debated over all over the world.
Some say it was played before Jesus Christ was born, others say it was
a game invented after the playing cards were invented some 600 years
ago. On thing is for sure though, the game has constantly evolved and
is still doing so today. If we look online there are an ever changing
amount of varying games to delight the player, often with better odds
than the original.

Some say the game of Blackjack dates back to 700bc during the Roman
occupancy of Europe. There is no doubt that it was a different game
back then as playing cards were not invented until 1440. However some
argue that the Romans used to play with blacks of wood, each one with a
different numerical value. If this is true then it is quite believable
that the game may have dated back to this period in its simplest form.
After all we know that gambling was rife at this time, with soldiers of
the Roman Empire gambling anything from jewellery to wives and animals.

Fast forwarding several centuries, the origins of blackjack played with
playing cards as we know today, can be traced back to the countries of
either France or Italy during the 15th century. As mentioned previously
the playing cards that we know today were created in 1440 by John
Guttenburg and many of the earlier games revolved around counting
totals, similar to what is required for blackjack.

There are some games that are similar to blackjack but do not mirror
the game enough to warrant the title "the original blackjack game".
Games such as Baccarat, an Italian game invented in 1493 is one such
game that is sometimes linked to the beginnings of blackjack, as is a
Spanish game known as "1 & 30". However neither really resembles
the game we know today as blackjack and so the search must be directed
elsewhere.

So to France where there is stronger evidence as to the origins of
blackjack. In the 18th century a game known as 21 was played by the
French aristocracy. The game would be played in rounds with players
trying to achieve a score of 21. If the dealer achieved a score of 21
however, he would be paid at 3-1. This could be the beginnings of the
house edge coming into play.

The game of 21 moved to America in 1875. It was first played in the
gambling halls in 1910 keeping its original name of 21. Unfortunately
the game didn't have many takers to begin with and many of the gambling
halls created new bonus payouts for certain hands in an attempt to
increase its popularity. The name Blackjack came about when many
gambling halls offered a bonus payout to those payers who landed the
hand ace of spades and the jack of clubs or spades. Unfortunately the
bonus didn't last long but the name has stood the test of time.

By the 1930's blackjack had become so popular that it had become the
number 1 game in Vegas. Its popularity continues to grow today with
high rollers often spending millions on games at the super casinos of
the USA.

The internet spelt a new era for blackjack with the introduction of
online casinos. Now players could enjoy the game they loved so much in
the comfort of their own home. Online casinos also added new variations
of the original game such as blackjack switch as well as the chance to
be the dealer. Many of the new variants of the original game offer
better odds for the player due to the lower running costs of the online
operations. In essence there is no better time to be a blackjack
player.

Blackjack strategy is not difficult or time consuming to learn, but
most people simply don't bother. The primary reason why is because they
don't know when or where they would be likely to benefit from having
knowledge of Blackjack technique. However, there are lots of scenarios
where knowing how to play a strong game of Blackjack can come in handy.
Here are a few examples of when knowing Blackjack strategy can be a
true asset.

Many people take group trips or romantic getaways to resort areas where
casinos are abundant. This makes it almost inevitable that you will, at
some point, be given the opportunity to sit down at a Blackjack table.
Even if you only end up walking into a casino a few times in your life,
knowing the ins and outs of Blackjack strategy can help you have a
really great time. When you surprise your traveling companions with
your unexpected level of prowess at the game of Blackjack, you will win
admiration all around. Even if you only get the chance to use your
Blackjack knowledge a few times, it is well worth the time and effort
to learn Blackjack strategy so that you can make the most of those
opportunities. Being great at Blackjack can help you turn a special
weekend in Las Vegas into a high rolling party that you will remember
for a lifetime.

Having a solid foundation in Blackjack strategy can even be extremely
helpful if you get sick and tired of Blackjack. When you know Blackjack
technique, you can use the proceeds from your time at the table to fund
other, riskier gaming. If you like to gamble but hate losing money,
start your night on the casino floor at the Blackjack table, and use
your strategies to clean up in round after round. Then, take your
winnings, and kiss them goodbye as you and anyone lucky enough to be by
your side put them to use all over the casino. Being great at Blackjack
can give you the freedom to be terrible at roulette, craps, or baccarat
without having to read the damage in your bank balance the next morning.

Any time that you are at a computer with a few minutes to spare, you
can benefit from knowing Blackjack strategy. With the rise in online
gaming, there are more opportunities to play Blackjack online today
than ever before. Internet Blackjack can let you win money whenever you
have a little free time and a working web browser. If you've ever found
yourself looking for a way to pass a rainy afternoon, a chance to take
a quick break from work or studying, or just a way to make an extra few
dollars while you're waiting for your morning toast to cook or a pot of
water to boil, Blackjack strategy can help you win a few rounds no
matter where you are or what time it is.

The game
of Baccarat was originally known as Faro (or Basset), it was the
favorite game of Casanova, and other adventures since the 15th century
onwards.

Today's game was a favorite of James Bond, where in the film Casino
Royale he skillfully bankrupts an enemy. Baccarat in old colloquial
Italian and French means "nothing".

This article is all about playing baccarat, having fun and winning! Its
a great game suitable for both novice or pro, so lets look at how to
play baccarat and win.

The odds

Although the odds can be easily calculated, and the strategies few, if
one were to believe Casanova, he was able to win or lose as he wished
(for whatever reasons he had).

Also in the film, James Bond equally won as he needed to do. In real
life, we are not so privileged, and the safe bets are few, in fact,
only one, as you will see below.

So its easy to play baccarat with the best odds of winning

The rules

The rules of playing baccarat are very simple.

After the bets are placed, the cards are dealt with the outcome
dictated by the results of the deal. More precisely, the dealer deals
two cards to each player, and the banker (who is not necessarily the
dealer). The object of the game is to get as close to 9 as possible.

If you have 9, or an 8 (both called "naturals") you win (unless the
dealer has the same, and then it's a tie). If you (the player) has a 6
or 7, you are obliged to stand. If you have a 5 or less, you are
obliged to take a 3rd card.

The 10s and face cards have zero value.

Therefore, a 10 and a 5 would be a value of 5. If three cards are
dealt, the score of the hand is the right digit of the total of the
cards. If the total of the three cards is 14, then the score is 4.

Rules for the dealer.

If the player stands, the dealer must hit if his score is 5 or less.
Now the rules become somehow complex. If the player took a 3rd card,
the dealer is obliged to act as follows:

Dealer has total of 0, 1, 2: Dealer must draw a third card.

Dealer has total of 3: Dealer draws if Player's 3rd Card is 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-9-0 (not an 8)

Dealer has total of 4: Dealer must draw if Player's 3rd Card is 2-3-4-5-6-7

Dealer has total of 5: Dealer must draw if Player's 3rd Card is 4-5-6-7

Dealer has total of 6: Dealer must draw if Player's 3rd Card is a 6 or a 7

Dealer has total of 7: Dealer must stand.

The Bets.

When playing baccarat there are only three bets. One is for the player,
one is for the banker, and one is for a tie. Betting on the player, or
bank does not mean, necessarily on "the" player, or the dealer. If you
bet on the player, and win, you are paid even money (1:1) with no
commission.

If you bet on the banker, and win, you are paid even money, but charged
between 4 and 5% commission. If you bet on a tie, you win 8:1 or 9:1
depending on the rules used, without any commission.

The BEST bet.

When you play baccarat The best bet seems to be betting with the bank.
This has the best odds for the better (punter). It's a boring game, but
will keep you in the game longer, and you may leave with some money in
your pocket.

Other play Baccarat tips

*Try to play at a table or if electronic, a computer, where the fewest number of decks are used.

*Card counting does not work in baccarat. The dealer will shuffle the
decks after each play. Systems don't work either, so bet with the
banker for safety.

*Enjoy yourself, but decide how much money you can lose before you start. Put you winnings aside, and play your stake.

When that stake is over, finish your play, and keep your winnings.

If you are looking to have some fun in a game of chance, Baccarat is
a good choice not only is it fun and easy to play and surprisingly easy
to win at Baccarat.

Before we look at how to win at baccarat, let' look at plays to help you avoid losing that are made by novice players.

My players feel they can win by studying patterns in Baccarat but this
is simply a gamblers myth. Looking for patterns and cycles in baccarat
is just as futile as in roulette or slots.

Their all games of chance and patterns mean nothing.

The previous play never influences the next play.

This is a mistake many novice gamblers make when trying to win at Baccarat and they end up losing.

If you bet on the flip of a coin, and it landed on heads 22 times in a
row many gamblers would say the chances of tails on the next flip have
increased.

The chances however remain 50 -50 for the next toss regardless of how many times the coin has fallen on heads in previous throws

Winning at baccarat - Systems

Casino's give out cards where you can write down the games history and look for patterns.

While many players take them seriously, they won't increase the odds of success or help you win at baccarat.

You see them on the net all the time systems to help you win at
baccarat consistently, but they never work and you should save your
money.

Winning at baccarat avoid card counting

Card counting is usually associated with blackjack, as it is an
effective strategy when utilized correctly to help you win and give you
a small edge over the casino.

Is it a good strategy to win at baccarat? The answer is no.

The problem is though, the issue of used cards being fed back into the
shoe before very many cards have been dealt as there are only a few
cards out you cant use card counting

Another problem is unlike blackjack, baccarat does not offer you an opportunity to alter your bet in mid-hand play.

Blackjack offers this in a number of situations, so you can increase
your bet if your count changes and the odds shift in your favor.

Using card counting in baccarat though offers so few situations with an
advantage against the house that it does not help you win at baccarat.

The best bet in baccarat

The house has an edge in baccarat, as in all, casino games but it's a
small one at just 1.24% for bets on player and just 1.06% for bets on
banker.

The odds of winning at baccarat are much better than many casino games
such as roulette, slot machines and blackjack using basic strategy.

The only game with a better odds bet is the craps odds bet at (0%).

Winning at baccarat means you need to use the banker bet as often as
possible, as it's the bet with the best odds and the lowest house edge.

5 ways to win at baccarat

1. Number of decks: Choose the game with as few decks as possible.

2. Commission: Look for the casino that charge a commission on banker bets lower than 5% shop around and cut costs

3. Bet on the banker. This bet has the lowest house edge and greatest odds to win at baccarat, as previously discussed

4. Money management. Set a bankroll in advance have a profit and loss
cut off point, don't spend more money than you have chasing losses.

5. Don't use baccarat systems. It is futile to base your gaming
decisions on results of previous bets, when the game is a random game
of chance.

There is only ONE good bet.

Use the banker bet the most, for variety you may want to bet on the player occasionally but never bet on the tie.

Winning at baccarat

Baccarat attracts both novice and experienced players, it's a fun game,
easy to play and with great odds when you know how to play.

Use the above and win at baccarat. Good luck

Most
experienced poker players use percentage realities to know if they have
the odds to "chase" a flush or straight draw. That is the correct
strategy for limit games, however if you are using such a guide when
playing tournaments, you are playing an unnecessary, risky style of
poker tournament game, and most likely costing yourself money. I
recommend playing draws in a tournament only under the following
specific conditions.

You are the short stacked and in the blinds, and the flop gives you an
open ended straight or flush draw. In this case you should go all in
after the flop, and hope to take the pot right there giving you an
extra opportunity to win the hand, and see another full round of cards.
You are going to hit one out three times approximately and in this
case, that is a good scenario. I once saw a "Magical WPT Pro" do this
early in a tournament with his whole stack, only to be called by the
cutoff with an overpair. He was out in the first hour saying "in these
tournaments you have to double up early and take the chance". That is
complete nonsense and rings of a cop out, not a strategy.

You can also play draws from the blind when it is an economical poker strategy
to do so. As per the above example, if you can hit a draw 1 of 3 times,
the pot size should be 3 times the size to make it a profitable play -
that is, in ring games. Do not follow this guide in early stage
tournament play because missing 1 or 2 profitable-play draws may mean
that your whole tournament strategy
will have to change for the duration, just playing catch up. On a flush
or open ended straight draw, do not chase unless you are getting at
least 6 to 1 pot odds, and I look for 10 to 1 as an even better
guideline. At the early stages of tournaments, you want to have the
made hand, and let others try to hit their draw against you. Can you
see how this works? If all the early confrontations you have in the
tournament force your opponents into expensive draws you will be
chipping up the majority of the time, and setting yourself up for big
stack play in the middle stages. And during an online tournament, you
will have lots of customers chasing.

This brings us to the most acceptable time to play draws - as a big
stack! Here you can use the normal percentage and odds realities,
because you can now afford to miss 2 of 3 draws and not be hurt,
especially against a small stack. Your tactic here should be to use
your draw to take smaller stacks of their better hands by betting
aggressively with the looming threat of taking them out. Choose your
spots when doing this, against tight middle stacks, or real short
stacks. Stay away from drawing against a big stack, until final table
play, where aggression takes down the majority of pots.

Hold'em
Poker has, in a few short years, exploded into the most popular poker
variation of the game and Texas Hold'em is a game that started some
time in the early twentieth century. However, it is only in the last
five or six years that Texas Hold'em has mesmerized poker players and
taken over poker rooms just about everywhere poker is played.

No-Limit Texas Hold'em is the mainstay of the World Series of Poker
(WSOP) which is the highest profile event in the history of the game
and is televised around the world. Texas Hold'em is the main game
played in the World Poker Tour (WPT) that promotes worldwide poker
tournaments. Celebrity tournaments particularly as held in Las Vegas,
feature Texas Hold'em and are extremely popular with spectators. In
fact, Texas Hold'em tournaments have become highly popular spectator
sports and are televised to enthusiastic audiences.

Assuming you are acquainted with traditional poker, here is the basic Texas Hold'em play:

You are dealt two personal cards face down and five cards are placed
face up in the center of the table for use by all the players. These
are the community cards.

You make the best five card hand using your two personal cards and any combination of the five community cards.

There are four betting rounds. Unless you are in a no-limit game, the
first two bets will have a set limit - for example, two dollars. The
next two bets have a limit of four dollars. Betting or raising for each
round cannot exceed the pre-set limits.

The first two bets are called "blind" or "posted" bets. The first
player to the left of the dealer places a "small blind" or minimum bet
which is half the maximum - or $2. The next player to the left of the
minimum blind poster places the "big blind". The maximum allowed in
this case is four dollars. No other bets are made. Once play begins,
the deal rotates around the table and each player, in turn, will act as
the small blind, big blind and eventually as dealer.

The game starts with the first small blind player receiving the first
card face down and the deal revolving around the table with the last
card taken by the dealer. The deal revolves around the table again with
each player receiving the second card face down.

The first round of betting begins with the player to the left of the
big blind either calling or raising within the pre-set game limits.
Betting, calling or folding goes around the table until the small blind
poster is reached. The small blind poster can call the bet since a
blind was already posted. The big blind then has the option to raise or
to "check".

Three community cards are then dealt face up in the center of the
table. In Texas Hold'em terminology, this is known as "the flop". Bets
are placed.

Next comes "the turn" or "fourth street", which means the dealer places
the fourth community card among the first three cards. Again, bets are
placed.

The fifth and final community card dealt is called "the river" or "fifth street".

To play Texas Hold'em well, basic strategies should be learned and
practiced and for the serious player, extensive study of advanced game
strategies is a must.

    When I
signed up to be a Blackjack dealer, I had no clue what was in store.
Aside from Blackjack, I had no idea what other games were available for
playing. I'd never heard of Caribbean Stud Poker, Mini-Baccarat, or Red
Dog, and I had no clue what Sic Bo was. What I did know was that I had
to step-up my math skills if I wanted to make it in the industry. I
also knew that if I was going to learn anything at all, it was going to
be from the players. And I was right about that.

After my first week at work, I knew the rules of Blackjack like the
back of my hand. When to hit; when not to hit; the best time to double
down; how to split, and that "surrender" and "insurance" were sucker
bets. The players at the casino were regulars who were in there just
about every day, and they more or less taught me the ropes. This proved
to be beneficial when I'd get a rookie player who had no idea how to
play. I was able to suggest what he should do. It wasn't like Vegas,
where dealers could out right tell their players what move to make. We
weren't allowed, but we could suggest; strongly.

My next hurdle was to learn Let It Ride. I had no idea how to play
Poker, and I didn't know the ranking of the hands. This only made
things harder. Luckily, the table itself had a payout table on every
player spot so I could look at that. It didn't take me long to catch
on, and from there I learned Caribbean Stud. Both fun games and I
highly recommend them.

As for Sic Bo, well, let's just say that it became my arch nemesis.
It's a glorified carnival game where the player takes three balls and
rolls them down a track into a spinning wheel. The three balls add up
to a total and the winning number it called out. The payouts on that
game were a little bit similar to Roulette with odds like 19 to 1 and
35 to 1 etc. Again, I really had to step up my math skills, and I did,
but I never really got into the game. In fact, I dreaded coming to work
sometimes because I knew I'd be dealing it. They eventually got rid of
the game because players figured out a way to roll the balls in such a
way that would bring them the best results and the casino lost A LOT of
money. When I showed up to work the next morning, and saw that the game
was gone, I almost dropped to my knees and thanked God. And I'm not
even religious!

Mini-Baccarat, to me, seemed like the most ridiculous game in the
house. It was very popular with the Asian players and there would often
be a waiting list because all three tables were full. It was like a
50/50 chance of hitting Player or Banker, and the players would track
each hand by marking down on paper who would win. It's basically like
playing black or red on Roulette, but the players bet according to some
sort of pattern. I didn't mind dealing that game because there was a
lot of excitement and the players had a good time.

All in all, I did enjoy being a dealer. I was considered quite lucky
and players often called me "The Terminator" or "Hurricane Loretta."
Sometimes I'd come to a full table, deal for all of fifteen minutes and
"kill" it. But after a few years I began to get bored. I needed a
challenge, but I didn't want to leave the industry because I liked the
players (well, most of them) and my co-workers a lot. The next rung on
the corporate ladder was Dealer Supervisor (Pit Boss) and I was looking
forward to the day I'd one day become one.

INSIDER TIPS:

I've been reading around on the internet about blackjack and how to
play. Now for most of you that have never played Blackjack before it
could be a stressful time, especially if you're losing a lot of money.
Well if your sitting at home and contemplating coming out to Vegas to
play, I'm here to tell you that a little home work would be in order
before you make the trip. "Well I can just go out to the local book
store and pick myself up a book of what to do and what not to do, so
why should I listen to you?" Number one everything you need is right
here in front of on the web. Number two most books won't tell you what
I'm about to.

Let me tell you a little about myself first. My name is Alan Broze'
( www.alanbroze.com )and I've lived in Vegas for around 15 yrs. Now.
I'm a singer, songwriter, recording artist, and I paint in oil. I've
also been known to drive a cab now and then. The point I'm getting to
is that I've seen these people in Vegas trying to beat the casino. They
can't or at least 99% of them can't. There will be an occasional winner
but for the most part everybody looses. They don't build these hotels
on winners.

Let's get to it. Look around this site and you will find an article
that will tell you when to hit, when not to hit, when to double down
etc. Learn all that stuff it's important. But now pay close attention.
When you're looking for a table sit at you have to look at a lot of
things all of which will put the odds in your favor if you do it right.

    1. You need to play at a table that has a minimum of $25.

The reason is, the people that sit at a #25 Blackjack
table are more apt to know how to play. This means that they won't mess
up your hand by splitting 10's or something stupid like that. By the
way if that happens grab your money and run don't stay there you'll go
bust.

    2. Watch the players for a few hands.

Make sure they are playing the
right way. Then buy in and sit down.

    3. Try to pick a table that only has two or three players at it.

    This
makes it easy to keep track of the cards. By the way I only play at a
double deck table. Never a 6 deck shoe or single deck.

    4. If the table is getting a lot of small cards out press your bet.

This means the tens are stacked up and ready to show. Just remember the
dealer could get them also. 5. If there are a lot of face cards out bet
the minimum.

    6. Only press your bet if you're winning.

    Money management is very
important when you're playing blackjack.

    7. If you're having a bad run get up don't just sit there and give them
your money. Look for another table.

I hope these little tips will help you. If they do and you win big remember me in your will HAHA. See you at the Blackjack tables.

Blackjack card counting can give you an edge against the casino when
playing help you win over the longer term and it's statistically proven
to help you can win

Here we will look at the basics, some misconceptions and the odds that
you can get in your favor to win big at blackjack card counting.

1. Card counting is simple

Contrary to what many players believe card counting is relatively
simple and it is easy for ANY player to blackjack card count and win.

2. Card counting theory

Blackjack card counting was born when the book Beat The Dealer was
published and proved mathematically that you could put the odds in your
favor.

Card counting allows the player to keep track of how many high cards or
low cards have already been dealt, and how many are still to come.

When high cards are expected, the player has an advantage, and can
increase the bet size. When predominantly low cards are expected, bets
are reduced to the minimum size as low cards favor the dealer.

Thus, the player has a better chance of winning when they are dealt high cards, and the dealer benefits from getting low cards.

This is because the dealer is forced to hit on any hand under 17; high
cards therefore will bust the dealer. Being dealt high cards of course
increases the players odds of getting a blackjack, which has the
highest payout ratio of all the hands (3-2) high cards are also better
after you have split pairs or doubled down.

3. Your choices allow you to get an edge.

Keep in mind the dealer has
no choices to make but you do and if you make the right choices in
relation to the odds that you see from your card counting, you can gain
an edge over the casino longer term

4. Card counting is a long term strategy

Blackjack card counting is effective in the long run but it is not a
short term strategy. In the short term results can of course vary
dramatically, this is because it is a probability theory and is not
predicting it is simply allowing you to calculate the odds.

5 The edge gained when card counting

A typical blackjack card counter will play with an edge of about 1.5%,
depending on the card counting system used, the skill of the player,
and the casino rules the player encounters.

2% is considered the MAXIMUM edge that a player can gain against the
casino, but 1.5% is probably about the maximum for most players.

The player's edge in multi-deck games is less than in single deck games and is less than 1%.

Playing single deck blackjack is better than multiple deck for
blackjack card counting due to calculating the probability of cards
coming out of the deck.

6. The best card blackjack counting system

There is no accepted best blackjack card counting system

In recent years there has been a move to highly complicated card
counting strategies, but don't be fooled into thinking as it's more
complicated it will be more successful.

There is no correlation between the complexity of a system and its expected success.

Complicated systems can also be harder to apply and therefore are more prone to errors.

A simple blackjack card counting system applied with no errors - will
be far more effective than a complicated one that is applied with
errors.

7. How easy is it to learn?

Blackjack card counting can be as simple or complicated as we have seen. A simple card counting system can be learned in an hour and no mathematical knowledge is required.

8. Success depends on your choices!

    How successful you are with
blackjack card counting is down to you - How you bet and how you apply
your system.

Shorter term results will vary but longer term you can get an edge with any card counting method simple or complicated.

Don't do it. Not at the Texas Holdem table. Not anywhere else. 'Nuff said. Right?

Oh, you already don't cheat? Well congratulations and good for you (and
for the rest of us too). But as honest as you may be, cheaters do
abound, as much in Texas Holdem as in any other game, and you'll need
to know their tricks in order to spot them before they turn them loose
on you.

Fortunately, many forms of cheating at Texas Holdem are subverted in
online play by the nature of the internet. Online players, for example,
can't miscall their hand, manipulate the deck, short pots, or practice
any other form of devious sleight of hand.

Online Texas Holdem players can however collude, and collusion is
cheating just the same. Collusion is when two or more players partner
up to mislead the other players at the table and unfairly take their
money . There are a number of ways that online Texas Holdem players can
do this, including:

    Codes

Using the chat window, the colluders communicate in a pre-established
code, right in front of the other players' eyes, whereby they compare
their two hands and then fold the weaker of the two, only playing the
stronger

    Sandwiching

The colluders take turns betting and raising heavily into a third
player, forcing him or her to either keep calling ridiculous bets or
keep folding out of every hand.

    Signaling

In offline Texas Holdem, this can occur as hand gestures, bodily cues,
or careful arrangement of one's chip stack, but in internet play this
occurs by communicating through some alternate method -- telephone,
private email, or an instant message.

Cheaters don't always travel in pairs, however. In fact, one of the
most common forms of cheating in online Texas Holdem is when a single
player sits down in multiple seats at a single table. How? Simple.
Multiple computers. Now this one player is able to perform the same
dirty tricks as a couple of colluders, except more efficiently since
they have no one else to try to subversively communicate and strategize
with. And the lone cheater is doubly motivated by the fact that he
doesn't have to split his "winnings" either.

Now, there are those who protest that the very nature of Texas Holdem
is the art of deception and as such they are free to use whatever means
necessary to be the best deceivers they can be. This is a fallacy, a
clever rationalization designed to deceive (go figure) -- nothing more.
Don't be fooled.

Cheating is an offense to the game of poker. And it has no place at the
Texas Holdem table. One of the great appeals of Texas Holdem is that
anybody -- expert of beginner -- can win. And that is as it should be.
By sitting down at the Texas Holdem table you are implicitly consenting
to play by the same rules as everyone else there. That too is as it
should be.

Cheating is the bad apple that spoils the whole bunch. It gives Texas
Holdem a bad name. Cheating is stealing -- plain and simple. That's why
it's incumbent upon honest players like yourself to call out cheating
whenever you spot it. Report it with a vengeance. And get yourself to a
different Texas Holdem table as fast as you can.

With the help of honest players like yourself, a cheater can only "win"
at Texas Holdem for so long before eventually getting found out. And
you can take that to the bank.
