pros: very nice suite with great view of the strip and the luxor.
Most of staff are very accommodating. Most of restaurants are good. We had my brother's birthday dinner at RM Seafood - excellent. Do that.

Cons: The slots are TERRIBLE. I know I will eventually lose on slots but at my usual places I can have several hours of fun because my spins are punctuated with jackpots and payouts. At Mandalay Bay it was just a steady stream of futile spins - bummer. Also, MB does not seem to have the best versions of some favorite slot games - they have a strange three wheel version of Gold Fish - only spun it a few times with no wins at all. Go next door to the Luxor or almost anywhere e ...
Read Full Trip Report

TR 4/29-5/4/12 Finally A Spring Trip On The 3rd Try

Well, we made it on the 3rd try! For our planned March trip a basketball conference tournament was the focal point, fortunately I did not buy tickets. Then we canceled and rescheduled it for April to include the ACM Awards. This time I bought some tickets, which I ended up giving away when we had to cancel again.

So even though my wife's doctors assured us she would be able to fly for a May trip, you can imagine how many plans I made. Absolutely none. No show tickets, no dinner reservations----the only plan was to rest by the pool. But even without plans, most will agree that there are few better places to do nothing th ...
Read Full Trip Report

Went to Vegas end of Feb for 8 nights. Stayed the first 4 at Ballys. Nothing fancy but one of the few remaining bargains on the strip. Ate dinner one night at SEA-Thai food. Wonderful meal. The Burger place just outside of Ballys on the way to the Paris has gorgeous waitresses and excellent food. Next 4 nights at the Mirage. Room had a great view of the volcano. Meals at the California Kitchen are a bargain and the Pizzas are great! Saw Terry Fator and this is a show you should not miss. Great entertainer who recognizes Veterans and their contributions to this country. We also went across to the IP to see Human nature. What a great, high energy show.
I am 22 and this was my fourth trip to Vegas since I turned 21. I love this place. Its the only town that I can spend 4 days in and as soon as I arrive home I begin planning my next trip.

We got an awesome deal with Southwest to fly from Burbank to Vegas for $29 each way. You must book early to get those rates though. All the decent departure times were sold out so we had a 7am flight out of Burbank, which meant a VERY early morning (4:50am). I was worried about holiday travel chaos but was happy to find it was a breeze. Flight is an awesome 50 mins and we're in Vegas :)

We did the hotel check at the airport, no line. I knew that some Flamingo rooms that are on the southside have views ...
Read Full Trip Report

So we had agreed to go to Vegas with our friends who have never been before.

Over the last 20 years we have probably been a total of 20 times or so.

On this trip we shared a 2 bed room penthouse with our friend and later stayed at Tower
deluxe rooms at the Mirage.

Boy, has Vegas changed!!!! The city was always a place to go and have fun, but I think
the definition of fun has now changed.

Fun is now defined as some sort of combination of the talents of Lindsey Lohan, Paris
Hilton, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, LMFAO talent combined with cheap stripper fun with a
good dose of tattoo art. Multiple Flat bed trucks driving around claiming that there are
several girls who want to ...
Read Full Trip Report

Heading to Vegas for work & fun! Conference to attend March 19th - 22nd. So, there is some time for fun and gambling, since we are arriving on the 17th! Going with my SIL, Ang. and meeting co-workers for conference. Saturday, March 17th - Flying out of Peoria, IL on Allegiant. My hubby agreed to drive me to the airport and meet SIL there. Flight was to leave at 1:40pm, but noticed "delay" showing on board when we arrived. Departure time was now set for 4pm!! No friggin' way! We are ready to get there. It is St. Pat's day!!
Well my wife and I decided to resurrect the Nevada economy early
March and put some Aussie dollars into adult Disneyland. Had problems
leaving San Francisco as our bookings were made 3 months previous and
airline bankruptcy changed boarding passes not to mention waiting
times. Eventually got to Vegas and even Gray line had hit the wall so
Bell shuttle looked after us.
Off to Flamingo with the sandwich. Seemed to work but our room had no
hot water for two days, They said they would change our rooms or we
could let the water run for ten minutes and then it would be hot
again. Not very good advice in a drought stricken area!!
Slots were as lousy as the hot water.

Stayed at the Orleans 5 nights for $50 for Saturday night, the rest were comped. I stay at the Orleans quite a bit because there really is not a draw for me on the strip anymore unless I go with my wife who likes to shop and take in a few shows but since this was a solo trip, the Orleans works out fine. I did go to the strip one day to cash in a futures bet on Alabama to win the BCS and took in the noon poker tournament at the Imperial Palace. Bally's quarterly BJ invitational tournament had me and BigDog (not participating) leaving for LV via Orlando, FL on the Saturday Redeye. The Powers-That-Be, hereinafter known as PTB, saw to it that BigDog and I be bumped to First-Class courtesy of an overbooked flight. I couldn’t tell you at all “why us” other than maybe because we had flown to Vegas on Delta a half dozen times or so in the last year. While sipping on a tonic water listening to the infidels of the third world cabin being manhandled into their seats, I couldn't help but think that maybe the fickle maidens of luck were on my side --at least the initi ...
Read Full Trip Report

Comped at the Paris thanks to some strong play in the last year which

Friday, March 2

We go to Las Vegas about once a year. The primary purpose of this trip was to attend the WCC Basketball tournament at the Orleans to watch the Gonzaga Bulldogs. We flew out late in the afternoon on Friday, March 2nd on Southwest. Since it appeared like everyone from Spokane was going to the tournament, the flight was full. However, it was a direct flight and we landed in LV early after about a 2 hour flight.

By the time we made our way to baggage claim, the luggage was already being unloaded and for once, our bags came out fairly early. So far, so good.
