Background - We are celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. We are both in our early 40's and left behind three wonderful teenagers. I have been out to Vegas about six times and my husband has been to Vegas one other time. Usually I go for a conference every year in April. You will see we are low rollers and we do not hit the party scene. We are usually up early and to bed fairly early. I guess age is beginning to set in!!
Sunday, July 5th – I don't really like reading about every leg of each person's flights, so I am going to skip straight to our arrival in LV. We are celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary.
This is a very funny story, to protect the innocent and guilty the names will not be used, nicknames will be.

This trip happened in June 2007 when my soon to be wife, myself, friends, and family went to Vegas for our wedding: (downtown Vegas)

Leading up to the wedding I thought it would be a good idea to play a joke on our friend Buzz. I had a picture of him in a Hawaiaan shirt, so I printed up appx 30 "party flyers" telling people that "Buzz was going to dominate Vegas" As soon as we found out his room number I wrote it on the flyer, it had the dates he would be staying in Vegas and the hotel he was staying at. It said something along the lines of "if this shi
Read Full Trip Report

This was our 2nd Las Vegas trip this year, and for my wife's birthday. It would have been our 3rd, but we replaced one with a trip to Atlantic City (we will never go there again!). We got 6 nights in a row at Ballys comp'ed, our host told us we couldn't get that many, but we went online and got them with no problems. Our host was useless, and didn't seem to care if we came or not. I am a Harrahs Diamond player and my wife is Platinum. I would have thought in this economy that they would be more interested. I guess not.

The rooms at Ballys are really nice, we've stayed there many times. We were in the north tower, our room had 2 desks and a sofa. This is the standard room. It's a ...
Read Full Trip Report

My husband and I are in our mid 50's. This trip was our first week long trip. We arrived on Tuesday and we had friends joining us on Friday for the weekend. We rented a car for the first time and it worked out great. We did it with Alamo and got a great deal. Nice company to deal with.
Our first hotel was the Wynn. I love the Wynn. I feel so special there and it is in a great location. I love their pool. Check in and out was a breeze. Our whole stay there was wonderful.
The next hotel for the weekend was the Paris. It was fine. The room was clean and nice. A letdown from the Wynn but we knew that going in.
Warning - longish report.

After reminiscing about past Las Vegas trips with a bunch of friends, I got to thinking I would check into prices. Well, once that happened, there was no turning back. I first asked my boyfriend but he turned me down saying LV is not his idea of a relaxing vacation. I next asked my ex-sis-in-law, who had been with me before, but it turned out she needed to have back surgery. My sister, Sherry, heard I might be going and said she was interested, then asked our good friend Agnes if she was interested. Agnes is going through a nasty divorce and thought this was just the diversion she needed. So the crew was set with Sherry, Agnes, and me (Karen) for 6/20-6/26.
Background:

This is approx my 80th trip and was to celebrate my parent's 50th anniv; they have easily been there at least twice as many times as I have. So why am I going? Good question, but my mother was very insistent that I go along. With them offering to pay room & air, plus whatever food & shows we do together, how could I say no? I hadn't been there in a year, only major problem was that about 2 months ago I voluntarily downgraded my hours and title at work (had to as the stress was causing me health issues); I knew the change in income would affect my cash for Vegas. Normally for 5 days I would take $1000 ($200 a day for gambling) and maybe another $200 for emergency m
Read Full Trip Report

This was my 7th trip to the "mecca of sin". I found a great trip offer on US Airways - 264.00 for 3 days/2 nights. Sweet!!!!!!!!
The only problem was my choice of hotels: Circus Circus (yuck) or Excaibur.

I chose the "castle". Left DFW at 6:00 am and after an hour layover in PHX. got to vegas at 9:00.

Okay gang let me give you the real "lowdown" on the castle. Before leaving Texas, i read a lot of horror stories about this place, about how dingy, smelly, and old Excalibur was. Sorry - didn't see it myself. Stayed in room 11168 in tower I (old tower)and it was okay-not great - but okay-think Holiday Inn. the place has a great location on the strip.Down the
Read Full Trip Report

Another trip to Vegas.... here's a prelude of what happened before my trip as well:

Originally, I promised myself (and to my wife) that we wouldn't be going to Vegas this year as we went 4 times last year already and that was more than enough. We then decided to fly to LA with our 22 month old son and take him out to the Disney parks, Knott's soak city and Sea World in San Diego. Then my wife's mother decided to come as well and this made my wife decide that we "need" to drive to Vegas to show her around as this would be her first trip. No complaints from me! Let's drive to Vegas baby!

When we arrived in LA, within the first 2 hours, we had the worst luck that any vacatio
Read Full Trip Report

I bought 2 American Casino books before we left so my husband and I could both use the match play coupons.
We used Palazo, Palms, Ellis Island, Terribles. El Cortez, Plaza, and probably a few more. Some were free play
and some were match play, what can I say, we walked away very ahead...we were lucky!!

Used the 2 for 1 cave man ticket to see Gordy Brown, he was great, very entertaining!!
Used the Tickets 4 tonite booth for Defending the Cave Man- kind of a dumb show- Oh well.
Saw "Love" at the Mirage-using an e-mail sale, buy 1 get one for 25.00- amazing!!!

I wish we could have eaten more, we are not big people- haha!!

I love to check this site before each vegas trips for ideas. Thanks to all of you who take the time to write. Here are my "must see and do's while in vegas."

You MUST get an American Casino Guide before you go. Organize your coupons before you go. We saved soo much money and made soo much money using the match play coupons. We bought 2 books so we each could use a coupon.

One of the coupons is for Ellis Island, you sign up for a players card, 24 hours later you get 5.00 off dinner. We came back the next day and got the famous 6.99 steak, potato, salad and beer dinner, it cost us 4.00!!! The b.b.q. at Ellis Island was amazing. Landed Thursday night and went to pick up the car. Had rented a mini van but they were out so they gave us a brand new suburban with 2 miles on it. The care was crazy nice with leather seats and a dvd player. A lot sweeter than my crummy kia at home.
Collected everybody and drove up to the El Cortez. We booked rooms here because it is the best gambling in Vegas and even on the weekends rooms were dirt cheap. We had two tower rooms and they were really nice actually. Small bathroom but decent beds, couch, coffee table, writing desk(used as bar). We gambled late and drank a bunch then ate the late night 3.99 graveyard special. After much thought, my husband and 12-yr. old son stayed at the GN. We love the Fremont Street Experience and being close to other casinos. We also did not want to walk very far from the casino to our room, so we made sure we booked the North Tower at the Nugget.

We had an early 6AM flight from Nashville and arrived at LAS at 11:45AM. My brother-in-law had taken an earlier flight from Detroit and was waiting for us when we got there.

Rented a car from Priceline at $220 for 10 days, of course they tried to upgrade us (for a fee) and I said no and we ended up with a perfectly satisfactory 4-door Chevy Cobolt that ...
Read Full Trip Report

Flight/Vegas Cab

Trip #13 approx...

Flew from JFK (NYC) via JetBlue, which is my favorite airline and I have taken them at least 15-20 times. (having 40 channels of cable TV gets me every time) We got to Vegas in about 5hrs 20m and I never check luggage (carry on only). I walked quickly through the airport to the shuttle, right through the baggage claim right to the outside Vegas air. It was a pleasure to see not much of a cab line (and it was Saturday morning) and in 5 minutes I was headed to The Orleans to meet my friend "P" who was arriving later on from Burbank.

Day1 (Sat)

I arrived at The Orleans around 11am, walked into the very nice lobby and found no line for
Read Full Trip Report
