Mike and I have had a great start to the wedding season so far. It’s been pretty great if I do say so myself. Mostly because the couples that we have worked with thus far have been pretty damn awesome. I love that these couples find us because it really makes Mike and I love our jobs that much more. We met with Amanda at Vdara before the ceremony. Everything was very relaxed and everyone was chill. Amanda and her sister had some food and hung out with us while we got all of the details done. Eventually we made our way over to the Bellagio and Amanda finally got into her dress which was beautiful. Seriously. She looked amazing. The ceremony promptly began but for some reason the Bellagio staff didn’t get the memo that there was a wedding going on? So, right below the Terrace, some very loud bass music played the entire time. It was interesting for all of the vendors standing there to hear but Amanda said she didn’t hear a thing. lol Maybe we all imagined it? Either way it makes for an interesting story to tell afterwards. Once the happy couple was officially hitched, the fountains kicked off for everyone to see followed by some drinkies and cigars. At the end of the night, we were able to go off with these lovely kids to the Vegas sign and Fremont Street. We were actually able to shoot them while they played Craps. Pretty darn cool, Binions. But it was Cinco de Mayo, so it was crazy busy and we decided to head down an alley way for some fun shots. That’s why there is a picture of a dude digging in a garbage can. (Totally necessary to include that in this post. ) Congrats Amanda and Scott…you guys rule!

Ana & Paul : Wedding at Mandalay Bay Las Vegas, Nevada

Before I even had the opportunity to meet Ana in person I felt like I knew her. She was one of the sweetest people via email so I knew that in person she would be amazing and I was right. We met with Ana while she was finishing up hair as make-up by the always amazing Francesca Lombardo. Once finished in the room we headed down to meet Mike and Paul for their first look. It was very touching when Paul saw Ana for the first time. After seeing each other, we all headed out to the Cosmopolitan for some photos around the property as we had done many times before. Long story short, the Cosmo is no longer allowing outside photography and are not polite about it. So, we all headed back to Mandalay Bay and were able to capture photos around there before their beautiful in-suite ceremony. Their reception followed at the delicious Burger Bar where a fun time was had by all. The night concluded with everyone back in the Vista Suite partying the night away. Ana and Paul, you are both wonderful people and Mike and I feel so privileged to have been a part of your special day. Congrats to you both!

Cindy & Ashley : Fremont Street Las Vegas, Nevada

Cindy and Ashley traveled all the way from New Zealand to get married in Las Vegas and we were so glad that they did because we got to work with them! This couple was fun from the very start. We did their first look on the North Deck at the Trump before they headed off to get hitched at Little Chapel of the Flowers. After their ceremony we headed off to Shoot somewhere… we didn’t know where yet but we ended up in the Art’s District. It was super windy out that day and although I took a few smacks in the head from our softbox and flash, we were able to catch some great shots. We ended up on Fremont Street before the night was over and this lovely couple danced their first dance to “American Pie” on Fremont. Mike and I had so much fun with you both and wish you the very, very best! Congratulations!

Ashley & Brent : Down and Dirty at Fremont Street Las Vegas

Our day with Ashley and Brent was so much fun! My only regret is that we couldn’t spend more time with them. We started at the Boneyard. Immediately these guys were so easy going and I set off on a mission of my own for Ashley. Well Mike caught a hell of a cold and it wasn’t getting any better so we joined forces and success! Nah, these guys just had a lot good energy and brought a lot of laughs. Including the all too interesting “Tebow pose” in front of the duck. Haha. After the Boneyard we headed to Fremont so they could go ziplining. But as luck would have it the stupid zip line place didn’t open until noon and we had to leave by then. It was all good though because we hit up the alleys and got “dirty” in Fremont. The security guard there, instead of kicking us out, told me to burn my clothes because I was on the ground getting a shot. Haha! It was worth it. We had such an awesome day with this freaking awesome couple. Ashley and Brent- we cannot wait for your June wedding!

Amy & Tyler : Holi Powder! It’s a Mt. Charleston Engagement Session

This is what I’m talking about! Amy and Tyler weren’t really wanting to do an E-session and we always love when people do. It gives them an opportunity to get more familiar with us and also more comfortable with the actual camera. So once it was decided that they were going to do one, I was told, they were up for just about anything. People. If you have followed the blog for awhile now, I caution you to never tell Courtney that you’re up for anything because, well, this post speaks for itself. We all had a blast up on Mt. Charleston. Amy and Tyler’s puppies came along for the ride and even got some “color” as well. We cannot wait for Amy and Tyler’s big day in Hawaii in June!

Janessa & Steve : Neon Boneyard Engagement Session

New year, new stuff!

We met up with Janessa and Steve at the Neon Boneyard to start our shoot. Just from emails, I liked Janessa a lot. She seemed very upbeat and excited and pretty much open to any ideas that Mike or I had and in person, she was even better! Steve started off pretty quiet but we got him to loosen up after awhile. We had a lot of fun and laughs while in the Boneyard. Always careful to follow the rules and not touch anything while there, these guys followed directions very well and we had a good laugh while shooting. Afterward we headed off to the giant random checkerboard in Vegas. I personally love this place. I just love the look of the opposite end of the strip and in the middle of nowheresville. We got a chance to have some fun with lighting, Mike and my favorite thing to do while getting to work with this lovely couple. Janessa and Steve- you guys rock!

What up?! : February 2012 Promo

2012…dun dun dun. [[cue John Cusack.]] No, really, happy late and obnoxious but obligatory, new year! We said it a few times on Facebook but since not everyone has Facebook, here is our greetings to YOU in our blog. Yay…moving on. So, with the new year comes all kinds of fun stuff. Just a little background on us for the year…Mike and I are getting ready to go on our very belated honeymoon to Hawaii. We are SO excited since March 7th will be our third year wedding anniversary and we have yet to take a real vacation together that is not work related. (We are such a fun couple, I swear.) While there, we are getting pictures taken together with an absolutely amazing photog…more to come on this later though. In other news, Mike is turning 28 this year, and I, 26…inching towards old and I can’t wait. Helloooo discounts at Denny’s! We are closing in on having a busy year but still lots of free time to fill up and that’s what leads us to this blog post. We have some really fun stuff in store for the coming year, including some new gear. Mike is looking at purchasing a Nikon D4 if and when he can get his hands on one along with some other lighting gear that we bought last year. We have some very fun ideas that are either in planning stages or in our brains. Seriously, SO excited! SO, enough rambling, here is the promo info that we are running for February 2012!

Andrea & Sergio 2.0 : Engagement Session in Nelson, Nevada

I just want to throw it out there that if you are named Andrea or Sergio and in a relationship with one another, please PLEASE book us!! I dubbed these guys Andrea and Sergio 2.0 because we had another couple with the same names earlier this year. What are the odds? Well, I don’t really care what the odds are because apparently when these two names come together it creates a couple of epic awesomeness.

Mike and I had the BEST time with these guys! I had been chatting with Andrea for awhile via email and when it was time for their e-session, I felt like we were picking up old friends. Mike and I debated if Sergio 2.0 would be as much fun as the original…needless to say, some big shoes to fill. I am happy to report that the name Sergio is code for: the master of hilarious shenanigans. Haha We all clicked immediately. Being that the last shoot we had done was in Nelson, we tried to switch things up a bit…like with a lubrication sign. Oh and Cactus man. (wait, what?) By the time we had to return them to their hotel we had had a barrel or bathtubful? of laughs. We cannot wait for their wedding next December…you guys are thee coolest!

Lynn & Emilio : Bridal Session in Nelson, Nevada

These two lovebirds have a great story. They met, eloped and are living a happily ever after. The only thing was they didn’t have any “wedding” pictures so that’s how we got the opportunity to work with these guys. I met with them and drove the long winding road to Nelson. It was a little windy and Courtney was unable to be there so I was on my own trying all kinds of new stuff. I had fun with Lynn and Emilio and I hope you guys did too! Congrats!

Lisa & Emilio : Wedding at the Historic 5th Street School Las Vegas

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Lisa and Emilio! This was one of those weddings where it felt like we were with a bunch of friends and when that happens, I am no longer working…I am just having a great time with a camera in my hands. Plus, from their e-session Their wedding was so spectacular and really, everything we love in a wedding. DIY and unique…and in such a great location! The Historic 5th Street School allows so many options and it is a great place to shoot for us photogs as well. We started with Lisa and her girl’s getting ready at Lisa’s house. There was a great atmosphere going on..drinking and such. Before long we headed out to the school and immediately started getting all of the detail shots. THERE WERE SO MANY! (And we love it!) Once Emilio got there, we quickly got Lisa hidden away and Emilio got ready before their first look. I love first looks. I think they are such a special moment between the couple and Lisa and Emilio’s was no different. Happy tears make me happy. We were able to grab some shots of the two of them around the school before the ceremony and I have so many ideas for that place, I cannot wait to go back! Their ceremony was inside of one of the gallery rooms and it was personalized and beautiful. Before long, it was time to party! They had this awesome taco truck. OMG, I am still thinking about these damn tacos. They were so flippin’ good. A Mariachi band arrived to surprise the couple during dinner so that was fun as well. Then came the bridal party shots and oh, how we loved this bridal party! Yep. The guys and girls did the cover of the Bridesmaids’ movie. Haha! Hilarious! Right before the night was over, they cut the cake and had a few dances with parents and finally with each other. We love these two and cannot wait to work with them again! Congrats to you both! (and that’s what she said.)
