Well, this may be interesting.

Designed by Patrick Erickson, what he calls as the Pocket Tablet, would turn your regular smartphone into a tablet.

Thanks to a new discovery, that would be made possible by the use of flexible OLED technology wherein your smartphones can be folded into your usual phone with a trick under its sleeves. This pocket tablet can fold open and spreads out into an even wider screen display revealing an instant tablet.

And just as the name implies, it will fit right in your pocket when not in use, portable enough to carry around, don't you think?

While the true tablet experience may not exactly measure up with this one, it would still be nice to have a smaller version just so.
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 100%; height: 100%;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_aBTfC7qxKo/UDY8dJvgdXI/AAAAAAAAAOk/XEitObV0hU8/s1600/Sony%2BPocket%2BTablet.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5779873643305661810" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 100%; height: 100%;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XbZ5lS2RlJ4/UDY8c4FjxCI/AAAAAAAAAOY/la9rLU_NWRc/s1600/Pocket%2BTablet%2BConcept.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5779873638566315042" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 100%; height: 100%;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-074de9iNjng/UDY8dseVogI/AAAAAAAAAOw/16lzrMrRy2A/s1600/Sony%2BPocket%2BTablet%2BConcept.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5779873652628890114" />
InaTrap kills insects with a touch of class

Who would guess a lamp as dainty and elegant like this one is a mean killing machine when we talk about all those blood suckers or even those other annoying insects that flies around your home?

Well, this fly trap came from the makers of Acase together with Inadays to get rid off those pests and those stinking insect sprays as well.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 500px; height: 100%;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Tu474py5Mz0/T9qrKftMuUI/AAAAAAAAP0M/DUbb1iEswto/s400/InaTrap%2BElectronic%2BInsect%2BKiller.jpg" border="0" alt="InaTrap Electronic Insect Killer"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5754099670717348162" />
The InaTrap works by attracting insects with its glowing led light and a photocatalyst reaction where it omits a low level of carbon dioxide just like a human's breath to fool those insects with. And so, while those insects are lured into that mesmerising light, they will be sucked down by a noisless fan and into a trap where they will be crashed and chopped into tiny little pieces. Cut the last part though because they will only be trapped and maybe just suffocate to death. Either way, you'll surely have a peaceful and dreamless sleep.

via [ techsmate.com ]

Erythropoietin: A good source of exercise motivation

Fat problems? But you're too lazy to get your feet up and head out for the gym. Now there's a solution to kick up some adrenalin rush so you won't just sit around for long and perhaps even run a few marathons just by taking EPO.

Erythropoietin or known as EPO is a hormone produced from the kidneys that controls red blood cell production in a person. Athletes use this as a performance enhancing drug that increases their endurance.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 500px; height: 100%;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-41jcweoInb4/T9lM98j_YuI/AAAAAAAAPz8/5mVa5q_-NRE/s400/Erythropoietin.png" border="0" alt="Erythropoietin"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5753714626055332578" />
In a recent study done by researchers from the University of Zurich in Switzerland, they discovered that EPO can increase the motivation to exercise as observed on three types of lab mice. One group that can produce human EPO genetically in their brains, another group were injected with EPO and the last group without it. Those with EPO showed an increase in the running performance with no increase in the red blood cells.

With this study, it would somehow work on humans as well that will stimulate activity, hence, the mood to work out the body and say goodbye to body fat in no time.

via [ techsmate.com ]

Nintendo's Wii U: just another GamePad Controller?

No multi-touch capabilities? This may probably be a major setback for those hoping for one but no big deal for others. As it turns out, the Nintendo's Wii U has a single-touch feature along with other several updates as well.

According to Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo of America president, the reason why they have incorporated a single-touch feature was that the Wii U itself already consists of button configurations, that using all your fingers would somehow feel awkward. After all, the Nintendo's Wii U is a gamepad controller that they saw one doing a two-screen thing.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 500px; height: 100%;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uX9CnFJRjQg/T9gpJX4aWqI/AAAAAAAAPzU/5uBhU1T_Y5w/s400/Nintendo%2BWii%2BU.jpg" border="0" alt="Nintendo Wii U"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5753393764971993762" />
Nonetheless, the Wii U GamePad Controller consists of other awesome features too. Along with their tagline 'Removing the traditional barriers between games, players and the TV by creating a second window into the video game world', definitely shows a lot of possibilites. The Nintendo's Wii U has a 10.5"W, a 6.2-inch, 16:9 aspect ratio LCD touch screen, a sensor chip and camera on top with a Near Field Communication. Also includes motion control, rumble features and stylus. It is also packed with IBM Power-based multicore processor, AMD Radeon-based HD GPU. It supports SD memory cards and external USB drives, including support up to four Wii Remote controllers. It comes in black and white.

via [ techsmate.com ]

Seagate Backup Plus just a click away to saving files on FB and Flicker

As most HDDs work as a storage device for any computer data or files, Seagate uncovers its new portable external hard drive that is more than just what it's called.

The Seagate Backup Plus is the first ever portable hard drive to be able to sync with social networks like the Facebook and Flicker. It works two ways by saving your data in it while automatically creates a back up file on your social network accounts and saves there as well. And so, you will have peace of mind knowing that all your important files and no FB photos of yours will be lost.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 500px; height: 100%;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Z9maH08L4Wk/T9cShueTswI/AAAAAAAAPzE/V_yl0jelTGU/s400/Seagate%2BBackup%2BPlus%2BImages.jpg" border="0" alt="Seagate Backup Plus"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5753087419609232130" />
Preloaded with Seagate’s Dashboard 2.0 software, it includes a protection function that can give you options on how you want your files to be backed up. Like, if you decide to have a complete backup on all your data, or maybe you just want a few selected photos and videos, you can do this too. On the other hand, you can also have it continuously run and back up everything just to be sure you wouldn't lose a thing.

The 2.5 portable Backup plus comes in blue, red, black and silver with a 500GB to 1TB capacity and the price ranges from around $120 up to $250 as the storage capacity increases.

via [ techsmate.com ]

iOS 6 comes packed with goodies

At the Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference, the new iOS 6 is uncovered with hundreds of cool updates that will surely make a yummy treat for your iPhones and iPads.

To name a few of the most anticipated features is the famous Siri, who is more brilliant than ever. From the five languages that she speaks, now she can do fifteen others. She's into sports too. You can ask her anything from basketball to hockey. If you'll ask Siri where the nearest restaurant is, she will give you a more detailed answer that will include meal prices or the restaurant's hours and styles. Also, Siri knows about movies, the where and when, including your favorite actors and actresses. She even knows how to launch apps. Besides all these, a new feature dubbed the 'Eyes Free' will soon venture Siri into cars as well.

With iOS 6, Facebook is now integrated in it. Everything from your friend's birthdays and important events can be easily reached. Status can be done directly from the notifications bar.

Another highlight is the new Maps app that includes a turn-by-turn navigation, real-time traffic updates, with vector graphics and 3D flyovers. These features will provide a fast and more enhanced visual images that will make users navigate through the map quickly and avoid accident and traffic jammed streets.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 500px; height: 100%;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-M2mgdh43yEg/T9bgcVjQ5VI/AAAAAAAAPyc/8jCdIWU4Zsk/s400/WWDC%2B2012%2BiOS6.JPG" border="0" alt="WWDC 2012 iOS 6"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5753032351438398802" />
Other features includes the Passbook where users can store and easily access etickets, passes, movie tickets or merchant cards. Facetime, is another feature where you can make videocalls over 3G; Safari works by enabling you to sync tabs through iCloud then there's also the Do not Disturb feature so that when you're dreaming at night you would still receive text messages without your iPhone lighting up or vibrate for that matter.

These are some of the neat features on iOS 6 that will be released sometime soon and definitely something big to look forward to.

via [ techsmate.com ]

Smart Bed, anyone?

With so many things to do in the morning, making the bed gets a little nasty especially when you're being yelled at by your mom everytime you wake up, leaving it as it is. It works when set on an automatic mode. There's a panel on each side of the bed that opens where two mechanical arms with rollers extend then pulls the covers from the foot to the head of the bed. The pillows elevate and get straightened up by cords attached to it once the panels rotates and when the covers reaches the head of the bed the pillows falls on top of it again. Well, Amy Frankel, the girl featured on this video really did but no, not to Bruno but to her boyfriend, Isaac Lamb.

Invited to dinner at Isaac's parent's house, Amy came while she was maneuvered by Isaac's brother to sit at the back of an open CRV with headphones on just as instructed. He was to play her something.

Then, "Marry You" was played, and Amy was giggling and laughing and crying at the same time, all feeling giddy inside when friends and family started to spring out from nowhere acting to the tune and dancing. Good thing that everyone seem to have a background with a talent like this one as the couple themselves met ages ago on a local West Side Story audition. Needless to say, Amy was swept off her feet as an endearing groom-to-be, Isaac, traditionally went down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage.

via [ techsmate.com ]

Ferrari SP12 EC, especially made for Eric Clapton

The famous black stallion makes another kickstart building a customized Ferrari SP12 EC-as in Eric Clapton. Voice commands will also support several languages and will add up some more in time.

According to Mike Thompson, Nuance Mobile Division's EVP, a driver will just have a normal chat with his car while connected to a 3G or 4G, and through a cloud-based language server, Dragon Drive will perfectly understand your commands.

via [ techsmate.com ]

Microsoft's So.cl launches after FB's creator tied the knot?

Maybe it's just a coincidence for Microsoft's experimental social networking project a.k.a the So.cl- that's short for Social, to be unveiled practically the day after Priscilla Chan officially became Mrs. Zuckerberg. Was it to add friends like in Facebook or something? Well, no one can say. But one thing's for sure though, and that's creating another social networking site that would someday come close to what FB has achieved.

A good enough timing for So.cl, developed by Microsoft's FUSE Labs, to come out right after the wedding bliss. What's in Social? As put in, So.cl is a combination of social networking and search intended for web and media sharing such as videos in real time, with the aide of video parties, enabling one to create rich posts with visual content.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 500px; height: 100%;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_EWMacuvwGA/T7q6cIsZ_bI/AAAAAAAAAKQ/aRxxXcH-YsE/s400/microsoft%2Bsocl.jpg" border="0" alt="Microsoft Socl"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5745109267197328818" />

While this remains an experiment, it's somehow shows a rather discreet way towards the real social networking business, don't you think? After all, when signing up for So.cl, you'll be using your FB account to log in to start with.

via [ techsmate.com ]

Take a shot at the sun with Spectral Instrument's 1110 series camera

A camera like this one is usually made to be mounted on telescopes to take space photographs of different heavenly bodies. But Zeke, a mechanical engineer says otherwise, that will definitely blow you away.

Armed with an amazing 112 megapixel camera from their 1110 series that you can see on the video, he proposes that they want to come up with a people friendly type camera that can be used by normal people or photographers using the same specs as that of their 1110 series. So instead of having it fly somewhere over space, one can shoot holding this kind of camera on their hands, like any other cam but extraordinary at that, capturing the same image.

This 1110 series has a sensor that measures 95 x 95 millimeters that can expose images for hours while it can also be cooled to a 100 degree celsius. However, these sensors are extremely expensive, and their company won't invest until they see a positive response from many.

And so, while arguing about this issue, let's just wait and see for this awesome development to be launched sometime in the future.

via [ techsmate.com ]
