President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with the President of Burkina Faso, Marc Christian Kabore and the nation following the demise of his father, Bila Charles Kabore, who died at the age of 90 years.

The Senior Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Garba Shehu, in a statement said, the President spoke with Kabore to commiserate with him.

Buhari said: “I am deeply pained and saddened to hear of the death of your beloved and respected father. He was an outstanding leader who cared for all. His life was devoted towards the progress of the Burkinabe nation and its people. May God give you, the family and the entire country the fortitude to bear the loss.

“On behalf of my family, the government and the people of Nigeria, please accept our heartfelt condolences. May God repose his soul,” said the President.

The President added that the deceased was a distinguished Burkinabe, who served as Minister of Finance in the 60s, board member of the country’s Central Bank and at one time, the Vice Governor of the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO).

Awori decries destruction of public facilities in Lagos

The President of Awori Welfare Association of Nigeria and a former Lagos State Commissioner for Finance, Mohammed Olagbaye, has condemned the destruction of public facilities and private business in Lagos State by hoodlums who infiltrated the #EndSARS protests.

Olagbaye, who spoke in Lagos specifically condemned the attack on the palace of the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, by the invaders.

He described the invasion of the palace as a desecration of Yoruba cultural heritage and values.

Olagbaye said, “This gang razed monuments, institutions, police stations and wreaked immeasurable havoc. We disapprove of these in its entirety.

“The Awori, as the original largest landowners of Lagos State and parts of Ogun State and as part of the Yoruba, are known for their tolerance and democratic credentials.

“We completely agree with all the demands of the protesters but will like to appeal for peace to reign whilst we await federal and state governments to unmask the perpetrators of these dastardly acts, including the shootings, with appropriate sanctions and address the demand of the protesters as promised, in a transparent manner to give credibility to government actions, for better future for our children.

NPC Chairman Assumes Office, Seeks Cooperation

Newly-appointed chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), Alhaji Nasir Isa Kwarra has called for the cooperation of all in order to deliver the mandate of the commission.

Kwarra, who made the call when he resumed duty after his inauguration at the commission, in Abuja, appreciated President Muhammadu Buhari for finding him worthy of the noble position.

He commended the outgoing acting chairman of NPC, Dr Eyitayo Oyetunji, for holding fort and working round the clock to make sure the commission delivered on its mandate despite the COVID-19 pandemic that ravaged the entire globe.

Kwarra said, “I have absolute confidence that we have what it takes to move the Commission forward. I urge us all to continue to work with one another as a cohesive family unit that we have always been.

“Let me reassure Mr president of the Commission’s readiness to carry out its statutory mandate of providing the country with accurate and reliable data for socio-economic developmental purposes through censuses, surveys and vital registration.

He noted that he going to set the entire operation of the Commission on a pedestal of digitalization, starting with the National Population and Housing Census and the registration of Vital events (Births and deaths).

Buhari Mourns As Ex-NTA DG’s Son Stabbed To Death

President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with veteran broadcaster, Mohammed Ibrahim, over the death of his son, Aminu Mohammed.

President Buhari, in a message to the former Director General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) at different times, told Mohammed Ibrahim, who is the Makaman Ringim, that he was “pained by the sudden demise of his son.”

“My thoughts are with you and the family during this hour of grief. May Allah give you the fortitude to bear the loss,” the President said in a statement issued by his spokesman, Garba Shehu.

The statement said the young man, who was reportedly stabbed to death by thieves, that snatch phones in Kaduna, was buried in the morning

Bandits kill scores, injure many in Muradun

The Zamfara Police Command has confirmed killing of many persons in an attack by suspected armed bandits at Gidan Goga community of Maradun LGA.

The police, in a statement by the Police Public Relation Officer PPRO SP Muhammad Shehu, stated the attack occurred at about 2am.

On receiving the report, according to him, a joint police and military units from Kaura Namoda local government area and 78 Mobile Police Squadron in Maradun, responded to the distress call and forestalled further attack on the neighbouring villages.

“The bandits fled before the arrival of the joint security operatives. Unfortunately, four people were killed by the bandits while three others were injured.”

He explained the injured were responding to treatment at Federal Medical Centre, Gusau.

He assured security has been beefed up in the area with improved patrol by the joint operation to build the confidence of the community dwellers.

Commissioner of Police Usman Nagogo, while consoling the family, government and people of the State for the killings, pledged the Command will not relent in its effort to ensure the protection of life and property of the citizens.

On the 28th of October, 2020, it was known that the former Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweal, has been proposed by a key group of WTO ambassadors to be the next Director General of the World Trade Organization.

However, the United States refused to endorse her and the position is still on hold, news coming from Reuters states that to appoint a new head of WTO, clearance from all 164 WTO members is needed, the United States are the only obstacle currently, here are 2 things I think Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala should do to get the approval of the United States:-

1. Get The United States Connections With Nigeria Back

I think the United States government are aware of the happenings in Nigeria and have severally threatened to impose travel ban to some set of politicians and citizens of Nigeria involved in any rigging, this shows the United States government don't have a pure mind towards Nigeria because of some particular and corrupt acts like rigging of election and the rest, this might be one of the reason the United States approval is on hold.

2. Speak out as a black

Yes, the United States should prove that black lives matter in every part of the world and in every position, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala should tell higher personnels or speak for herself as a black and tell the United States government to consider a black person being the head of the WTO organization, this message will move the United States government as racism is avoided and acted upon.

However, if she gets the position and approvals, she will be the first black woman to be the head of the WTO, the process will require a consensus rather than a formal vote.

2) #EndSARS Protests Politically Motivated – Kogi Governor

The Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has described the #EndSARS protests as politically motivated.

In an interview on Channels TV’s Sunrise Daily on Tuesday, the governor explained that although he supports the agitations of the youths, the fact that they refused to relent after some demands were met, means the protests have political undertones.

“Dear Nigerians, let me tell you, what is happening today, this so-called #EndSARS is politically motivated,” he said.

“Whether anybody says it or not, I am saying it once again and you can quote me anywhere, anyday and I will prove it to you.

“Why will you demand for five items and you and granted and you refuse to take it.. which struggle, agitation or uprising across the world has ever succeeded without leadership?.

“100 per cent, I agree (with the agitations of the protesters) but if you look at what is happening today, you will have no option than to classify it as politically motivated”.

According to him, it is a “ploy to set we the youths of this country against one another

The governor also said not everyone wants an end to SARS so the agitations are only fuelled by some politicians and those who are profiting from it.

“Those who continue to shift the goal post when the demands were met, those who continue to profiteer from it.

“Not everybody believes in ending the SARS. And if you say SARS are even wrong in doing one thing or the other, the best way to agitate was to even ask for a total security overall”

5) NAFDAC blacklists Indian Company for manufacturing falsified medicines

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) says it has blacklisted Mars Remedies PVT Limited, India, for manufacturing falsified medicine for a pharmaceutical company in Nigeria.

According to Adeyeye, in view of the unprofessional practice, all products manufactured by Mars Remedies PVT, 635, GIDC Estate Waghodia Vadodara, Gujurat, India, will not be allowed into Nigeria with immediate effect.

She said that a letter addressed to the Managing Director of Mars Remedies PVT Limited titled “Notice of blacklisting as a manufacturer of substandard and falsified medicines” reiterated the agency’s position for zero tolerance for substandard.

Adeyeye said that the stand was in fulfilment of the regulatory obligation of the agency to safeguard the health of the nation.

“In violation of NAFDAC extant laws and regulations, the company illegally manufactured different formulations of Ciprofloxacin tablets instead of the approved formulation for export to Nigeria.

“The variation in the formulation of the Ciprofloxacin 500mg tablets, which may impact on the product quality and shelf –life, was not approved by the agency before the changes were made.

6) JUST IN: Why Kogi rejected World Bank’s N1bn COVID-19 support fund —Gov Bello

The Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has offered reasons why he rejected a N1.1billion support fund from the World Bank.

Speaking Tuesday while fielding questions on Sunrise Daily, a Channels Television programme, Bello said he turned down the World Bank fund because he did not believe in the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I rejected the World Bank fund because I do not believe in COVID-19. Even the five cases reported in Kogi State is an NCDC creation.”

He added, “I refused to sign because it is a one-sided agreement.” Bello did not provide any clarifications on what he meant by a one-side agreement.

30 killed, 50 buses, trailers, trucks belonging to northerners destroyed by IPOB – ACF

The Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF, has cried out over alleged killing of northerners in Southern part of the country.

The forum also called on the federal government to as a matter of urgency ask the various state governments to set up commissions of inquiry into the alleged recent killings of northerners.

ACF National Publicity Secretary, Emmanuel Yawe in a statement in Kaduna said it received a report from its state chairman in Rivers State, Alhaji Ibrahim Tukur Tudunwada that northerners living in Rivers and Abia states were being held hostage by members of the banned Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

The statement called on President Muhammadu Buhari to act immediately to save the lives of the affected northerners.

It alleged that about 30 northerners have been killed, while 50 buses, trailers and trucks belonging to northerners in the said states have been destroyed by IPOB.

The statement quoted the ACF state chairman, Alhaji Tudunwada as commending governor Wike for banning the activities of IPOB in the State.

The statement observed that those who survived the onslaught were living in perpetual fear of threats to their lives.

It explained that the security agencies in the states have done their best to save the lives of the northerners.

ACF warned northerners planning to travel to the South to shelve such plans, while appealing to President Buhari to take proactive measures to save the lives of all Nigerians wherever they reside.

1) Buratai, Army commanders meet on insecurity, Lekki shooting

Chief Of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Tukur Buratai, is in a meeting with top hierarchy of the military.

They include Principal Staff Officers (PSOs), General Officers Commanding (GOCs) and Commander of the Guards Brigade.

Also in attendance are commanders of the Army operations, unit commanders, among other senior officers.

The parley is holding at the Army Headquarters in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

On the agenda are insecurity in Nigeria, End SARS protests, violence and looting in states as well as the Lagos shooting.

5) More Trouble For Wike As Nnamdi Kanu Places N100m Bounty On His Head

The leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has placed N100 million on Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, south-south Nigeria.

Naija News had reported earlier that Governor Wike had directed security operatives to arrest anyone connected with the Federal Government proscribed Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) in the south-south state.

Wike’s directive came after a clash between suspected IPOB members and security agents on Wednesday left two police officers killed. This was even as the IPOB members reportedly razed the Police Area Command, Obigbo, Afam Divisional Police Office, and a court, all in Oyigbo Local Government Area (LGA) of Rivers.

Reacting to the development on Friday night in a statewide broadcast, Governor Wike placed N50 million bounty for the arrest of one Stanley Mgbere who allegedly led IPOB members to carry out the fatal attacks in Oyigbo.

The Rivers State governor said the proscribed group has continued to expand membership drive, holding meetings regularly, and expanding its logistical base.

“Security agencies are directed to stop any form of procession or agitation by IPOB in Rivers or any part thereof and arrest and prosecute any person or group that identifies with IPOB in the State. Government will issue executive order to strengthen effective enforcement of these measures.

“Today (Friday), IPOB continued with its devilish and destructive activities at Rumukwurushi, Iriebe and Oyigbo in open defiance of the State Government’s curfew on human movements,” Governor Wike said.

Displeased with Governor Wike’s decision, Kanu has doubled the bounty the Rivers governor placed on an IPOB leader in the state, placing N100 million on Governor Wike.

The IPOB leader placed the N100 million on Governor Wike on Sunday, days after his lawyer, Barrister Aloy Ejimakor, issued a legal notice in reaction to Governor Wike‘s order on IPOB in Rivers state.

6) Buhari Has Lost Control Over Nigeria – Fani-Kayode

The Minister of Aviation under the Goodluck Jonathan administration, Femi Fani-Kayode, on Monday noted President Muhammadu Buhari has lost control over Nigeria.

Fani-Kayode stated while claiming that the wickedness and insensitivity of Buhari is leading Nigeria towards anarchy, looting and bloodshed across the country.

The former Minister made this claim in a post on his Twitter account.

He further stated that President Buhari has incurred the wrath of God, following the recent incidents across the country.

7) Bagudu: Kebbi youths busy with farming, not prone to violence as in Kaduna, others

The Kebbi Governor, Alhaji Atiku Bagudu, has explained why youths in the state have refused to join the orgy of violence unleashed by their counterparts in Kaduna, Plateau, Adamawa, Taraba and southern states.

He said the youths in the state have been exerting their energy on farming to ensure food security rather than engaging in destructive activities.

Bagudu was full of praise for them for being different.

Bagudu gave the commendation during a visit to a cassava farm in Maiyama Local Government area on Monday, as part of government’s efforts to boost food security in the state.

“This development across the state is a good omen to the sustained strides of both the federal and state governments to bolster food production.

The governor particularly expressed delight that youths in the state had ‘wholeheartedly and patriotically’ engaged themselves in farming.

According to him, this will contribute towards making Nigeria self-sufficient in food production, improve their personal lives and boost the economy of the state.

“I am happy our youths have restrained themselves from being lured and influenced into violent protests to cause mayhem and destruction.

“Rather, they have made themselves useful to themselves and the state by massively embracing all the invaluable agricultural programmes of both the federal and state governments.

“This development couldn’t have come at a better time than now, when we are strenuously making efforts to uplift the living standard of the people of the state,’’ he said.

Bagudu, while outlining the importance of cassava and other food crop programmes towards adding significant value to the National Food Security programme, pledged to expand the programmes and provide more inputs to farmers in the state.

He commended the policy thrust of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration, describing it as a motivating factor to achieving the desired result for food production in the country.

8) This is not my Cross River’: Ayade laments looting, damage done by protesters

Gov. Ben Ayade of Cross River says the state will require N5 billion to repair the Calabar International Conference Centre (CICC) vandalised by hoodlums.

Ayade made this known on Monday, while restating the curfew imposed on Calabar and its environs.

The hoodlums had on Friday and Saturday taken advantage of the #ENDSARS protests to loot items in the centre after they vandalised it.

“It will take the state government N5 billion to bring back the Calabar International Conference Centre, the beauty of Cross River State.

“This is not the Cross River that I was born into; it is unlike us,’’ the governor said.

Hoodlums have concluded arrangements to invade Anambra on Monday to cause mayhem, Governor Willie Obiano has raised the alarm.

He spoke at the weekend in Aguleri, Anambra East local government area, when the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Celestine Okoye paid him a visit

The DIG visited Obiano in company of the Assistant Inspector General of Police AIG, incharge of zone -13 Ukpo, Anambra State, Danmallam Mohammed and the Anambra State Police Commissioner, John Abang.

According to The Nation before the Governor raised the alarm, the protesters had sent a signal they would storm Awka the capital city from Onitsha and Nnewi, accusing the Awka protesters as too weak.

Obiano said he would never allow such to happen as he had directed the Joint security team JTF to take control of the situation.

He also called on traditional rulers, the Presidents General of the communities, including the Vigilance groups and youths to make sure the plans of the hoodlums does not materialise.

The Governor said he had it on good authorities that those behind the problems in Anambra were from neighbouring States.

However, the Catholic bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor, has called on protesting youths to be peaceful.

Ezeokafor spoke at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cathedral, Awka while briefing reporters Sunday.

He said: “Government at all levels should have a human face. Nigerians deserve a better country. All we are yearning for is good governance.

The Bishop however said since the IGP had disbanded the SARS, the protesters should retreat and see how the new outfit would function or perform.

“SARS tried in a way to fight daredevil criminals and violent crimes but at some point they derailed.

“People have to come up and say no to intimidation, molestation, and harassment. I want the youths to protest with their heads intact,” Ezeokafor advised.

Militant groups from the nine states of the Niger Delta, who vowed to resume hostilities in support of the #EndSARS protests last Monday, sparked new concerns over the weekend when they presented their 11 new demands to be met by the federal government.

The leader of the militants under the auspices of the Reformed Avengers of the Niger Delta (RNDA), self-proclaimed "Major General" Johnmark Ezonebi, said in an email statement that the coalition had instructed multinational oil companies to evacuate their workers in order to avoid human causalities.

RNDA stated, “In support of the ongoing demands of the #EndSARS protesters, we have added our own new demands to stop the chaos of foreign oil multinationals, oil and gas infrastructures and the joint military task force involved in Operation Crocodile Smile in the region could.”

We have vowed to take the fate of our States in our own hands and to begin the work of all major oil wells and oil platforms. We will also reduce all major pipelines for crude oil production to zero," he added.

1. First, the RNDA's request is: "Urgent release of the N98 billion gas flare penalty fund to the Niger Delta host communities, which are funds held by International Oil through the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

In the Federation's accounts Companies (IOCs) are domiciled as compensation for the communities that are affected in the streams of the Niger Delta due to their pollution and environmental hazards, the multinational oil companies have caused."

Recalling that sometime in 2019, President Muhammadu Buhari's administration withdrew $ 1 billion from surplus crude oil to purchase heavy weapons to combat the insurgents of Boko Haram in the north eastern part of the country.

"This is nasty and insensitive to that with the people in the Niger Delta region, especially the militant RNDA group that accepted the terms to lay down their weapons on August 21, 2016, and so far nothing has been done."

2. "Second, we want full control of our God-given resources in the States. With some parts of the northern states allowed to operate and license to illegally mine and sell gold.

It will be time the people of the Niger Delta region, especially the Ijaw ethnic nationality, were given equal opportunities with artisanal and local Refining crude oil in the streams without any intimidation or harassment from the Nigerian government."

3. "Thirdly, the RNDA calls for river basins in the Niger Delta to be connected to the cities with roads and bridges, which are planned in the 2021 budget.

For example, a road project was to connect Warri to Ogulagha, the area owned by the local government of Burutu, where the Forcardos Terminal is located. It produces over a million barrels of crude oil that delivers trillions of dollars to the federal government every day."

4. "Fourth, the proposed 2021 budget that provided billions of naira to Niger Delta Affairs Minister Senator Godswill Akpabio and the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC should be withdrawn and postponed.

And the Niger Delta Minister Minister The proposed budget may only be defended once the content-related board of directors of the NDDC has been inaugurated and sworn in by President Muhammadu Buhari."

5. "We also request that Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio be tasked to set up a small town hall meeting with traditional rulers, interest groups and the leadership of the militant RNDA group in the Creek.

To show real intent that the budget proposal does not result in the misappropriation and diversion of billions to Akpabio and the pockets of his friends with no tangible and practical development in the streams of the region."

6. “And we also demanding the immediate start and reopening of the seaport Burutu by the federal government, which should be included in the 2021 budget."

7. "More importantly to the militant RNDA group, we are calling for an quick and immediately review of the Revenue Allocation Act to properly interpret and explain the 13% derivative funds that will not be placed in the hands of the so-called inhuman evil corrupt governors of the Niger Delta.

Which have been Pocketing billions of naira monthly from the Federation's allocation account without getting to the oil producing communities in the Niger Delta streams and without being accountable to the long neglected emancipated oil producing communities, whose original owners are the 13 percent derivation funds under Section 162 Subsection 2 of the 1991 Constitution, as amended."

8. “So we are demanding the Federation Attorney General to interpret this law for us in relation to the country's chief law officer because the people of the oil producing communities in the Niger Delta are fed up with the ongoing man-made injustice caused by Inhuman and Corrupt Governors in the Niger Delta."

9. “We have also demanded for an immediate review of the four-point agreement with the host communities of Nigeria (HOSTCOM) that was presented to the federal government by the national chairman, Prince Mike Emuh, and has not yet been approved.

The terms of the agreement, which include 10,000 pipeline monitoring jobs for the oil producing communities by HOSTCOM's leadership, have not been approved."

10. “Therefore, the RNDA is calling for a pipeline safety mandate to take in the reformed Niger Delta Avengers group members who are more than 5,000 in the creek and we will no longer allow this to happen in the creek, or we will will dismantle all pipelines in our creek within the set time of the ultimatum".

11. “In addition, we demand the release of the 10 licenses for modular refineries in the Niger Delta, which the federal government has not yet approved.

The federal board, however, approves billions and trillions every week in the presidency by selling our crude oil to $ 1.86 million to $ 2.2 million barrels daily with no tangible, "the militants said.

Babatunde Fashola who is the minister for works and housing, has discovered a hidden camera at the Lekki toll gate on sunday. Fashola took with him some federal government delegation, by the order of president Muhammadu Buhari, to sympathize with the governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo Olu. They did this because of the loss of lives and destruction of properties, that occurred in Lagos state due to the #EndSARS protest.

Fashola found the camera during investigating the scene of massacre, at the Lekki toll gate. He handed the camera over to Sanwo-Olu for investigation. Fashola suggested that the camera must have been kept there by someone, to check mate what happened at the scene.

President Muhammadu Buhari has listed the things his government had achieved, their plans for the welfare of Nigerians and security, but said nothing about the Lekki Tollgate killing of peaceful #EndSARS protesters by soldiers in Lagos on Tuesday.

The President made the enumeration during his much-anticipated address, following the killings of protesters, the activities of hoodlums and general crisis snowballing from the agitation by youths for police brutality to end.

Recall that the high point of the protests was when military men opened fire on peaceful national anthem-singing and Nigerian flags-waving #EndSARS protesters on Tuesday night, after lights went off and CCTV cameras were taken off at the Lekki Tollgate, Lagos, which had been the major gathering ground for the protesters.

Reading from a prepared speech Thursday night , Buhari said: “Both our deeds and words have shown how committed this administration has been to the well-being and welfare of citizens, even with the steadily dwindling revenues, and the added responsibilities and restrictions due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

“Government has put in place measures and initiatives principally targeted at youths, women and the most vulnerable groups in our society.

“These included our broad plan to lift 100 million Nigerians out of poverty in the next 10 years; the creation of N75 billion National Youth Investment Fund to provide opportunities for the youths, and the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Survival Fund, through which government is:

“(a) paying 3-month salaries of the staff of 100,000 micro, small- and medium- enterprises (b) paying for the registration of 250,000 businesses at the Corporate Affairs Commission (c) giving a grant of N30,000 to 100,000 artisans;

“(d) guaranteeing market for the products of traders. These are in addition to many other initiatives such as: a. Farmermoni, b. Tradermoni, c. Marketmoni, d. N-Power, e. N-Tech and f. N-Agro.

“No Nigerian Government in the past has methodically and seriously approached poverty-alleviation like we have done.”

On the security situation, Buhari said: “We will continue to improve good governance and our democratic process, including through sustained engagement.

“We shall continue to ensure that liberty and freedom, as well as the fundamental rights of all citizens, are protected.

“But remember that government also has the obligation to protect lives and properties, as well as the right of citizens to go about their daily businesses freely and protected from acts of violence.”

Addressing the protesters, the President noted that “In the circumstances, I would like to appeal to protesters to note and take advantage of the various well-thought-out initiatives of this administration designed to make their lives better and more meaningful, and resist the temptation of being used by some subversive elements to cause chaos with the aim of truncating our nascent democracy.

“For you to do otherwise will amount to undermining national security and the law and order situation.

“Under no circumstances will this be tolerated. I, therefore, call on our youths to discontinue the street protests and constructively engage government in finding solutions. Your voice has been heard loud and clear and we are responding.”

Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has denied that he ordered the destruction of economic assets of Yoruba people in Lagos State.

He said that agents of the Federal Government carefully twisted parts of his recent broadcast to create impression that he had turned the EndSARS protests against Yoruba.

He spoke Thursday afternoon, in an emergency Zoom meeting on the topic: “#EndSARS is not an ethnic protest, stop the propaganda to make it one”, organised by Njenje Media TV on the ethnicization of the #ENDSARS movement.

The event, moderated by Maazi Ezeoke also featured former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode.

Kanu stated that those who caused division between Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe during their time were bent on pitching Ndigbo and Yoruba against themselves.

He was emphatic that Britain was trying to divide Southern again for the North to conquer but that they had failed.

He asked people to ignore any divisive statements regarding Yoruba or any other ethnic group in Nigeria, credited to him, urging that to really situate what he said, one must listen to the about 2hour broadcast.

He said: “I made a broadcast a few days ago when young people were being slaughtered at Lekki Tollgate. In that very speech, I was very clear and unambiguous but the people who cut and paste and put the clips together were trying to be very mischievous. Their intension was to infuse an element of tribalism or ethnicity in the ongoing campaign of young people to free themselves from the bondage they have found themselves in Nigeria. And that intension I believe, failed woefully. At no time did I insinuate or say anything conveying the erroneous impression that they are now peddling that we were going to take over or control Lagos State…

“My stand is that I support our young people, I support the protesters, I also support the right of people to express their views without being distorted. As I said before, they cut out what I said and then quoted me out of context. If you want to know what I said, and the context I made the statements, you have to listen to the whole perspective (broadcast)”.

The Champions League returned with some interesting fixtures and also interesting results from those fixtures after the first match week of the new 2020/2021 Champions League season.On the second day of the first match week, European power house Liverpool football club faced Ajax of Amsterdam who are also one of the biggest teams on the European continent.

The match was billed to be an interesting and open game as Liverpool's rear guards, in the person of goalkeeper Alison Barker and influential defender Virgil Van Dijk were all missing from the game through injuries, with Van Dijk sidelined for nearly 8 months.

The two teams started off in great fashion attacking each team's goal with pace, but as the game went on the two teams slowed the tempo and focused on not to lose, but the inevitable happened as Tagliafico scored an own goal to give Liverpool the lead which turned to be the winner, but at a point in the game, Liverpool's midfielder turned defender made a goal line clearance.

The goal line clearance made by Fabinho and his total game play made Liverpool fans react and went to the point of declaring that he is already the best player in the world, as you can see below.
