Description: Get ready to create the cutest mini fall photo album with Pink Paislee's new Amber Road line! We will be doing a variety of techniques while creating this album, including stamping, embossing, working with transparencies, border punches, creating fabric covered buttons, distressing and more! You will have extra supplies leftover to play with when you get home, along with a complete stamp set of your own.

Please bring: *Acrylic stamping block - at least 4" long *Black stamping ink - preferably StazOn or another permanent ink *White or clear stamping ink *White embossing powder *Paper trimmer *Scissors *Black journaling pen *Fall photos - wallet sized. At least 8 photos, but you can certainly bring more if you wish. Colored ones look great with this line, for example: pumpkin patch photos, or any other fall photos. I did leave a small white border around my photos when printing them out with my printer at home. If you get them printed elsewhere and would like to add the white border to your photos, please bring white cardstock (or you can do this ahead of time if you wish). Don't worry if you don't have some of these supplies...we can share!

Each class is designed to incorporate Design Studio and one of the specific cricut machines. Students are encouraged to bring their own to practice as we teach, and even use a special cartridge to experiment on one of my machines. I will also showcase the use of the Jukebox and talk about the new Gypsy. Tips and tricks are included in all classes and teaches you how to make your mats last forever, how to minimize blade scoring, and a whole host of recommendations collected in the 4 years I have been using my cricut and scouring the web sites for tips and tricks! 4pm The Original 6x12 Cricut $15 The Create Class uses the smaller, more portable machine and goes through using the various cutting sizes from 0.25" up to 11.5" on a 6" x 12" cutting mat, eight-way directional blade, Portrait mode (to cut taller images), Fit to Page mode (to cut the largest cut possible), Auto Fill mode (to mass produce cuts), Center Point function, and Flip function. This class also incorporates the Design Studio as defined in the first class, but with specialty uses with the Create and the DonJuan cartridge that comes with the Create. 8pm The 12x12 Expression $15 The Cricut Expression® is more than just a way to cut letters, shapes, and phrases in impressive sizes using the 12" x 24" mat or the 12" x 12" mat. Ok It has been a few months since we have blogged, but I have my reasons. It was kinda depressing when the store closed, and then other stores closed it was really upsetting. After the dust settles

Well, we just survived our first crop after the store closed. And we are getting ready for our next crop on Dec 6th. Make sure you call to reserve your space by Dec 1st. If we don't get enough we might have to postpone it until January.

The firehouse is really nice. There are plenty of outlets for powerstrips and plenty of room to spread out. We have a nice little setup there. We had a pretty nice spread of NEW product and a couple of great discounts at the discount table.

We also just sent out an e-mail to the meetup group asking for cookie/card swappers. Dec 16th we are having a card/cookie swap. goto the meetup group and sign up for the swap pick one or both. Once you sign up for the swap you will be given directions to Julie's house for the swap.

Taking the show on the road....Store closing

We are taking our Show on the Road. After much consideration Barbara and I have decided to close our doors and hit the road. We are very sad that it has come to this but the state of the economy has left us no choice but to close the store.We will not be totally out of the scrapbooking loop. When one door closes another door opens. We will attempt to have a crop once a month at a local venue. In addition, we will be attending Cropclassix and Croptopia get a ways. We will continue to have the latest products, Bazzill card stock, and basic tools for sale at the crops. We have meet so many wonderful people and made life long friends through scrapbooking. We hope everyone will continue to attend crops so we can keep the friendships we have made over the last five years. All of our teachers will continue to teach classes at our crops along with our guest artist. We will continue to send out e-mails for our up to date information. Here is our schedule through March

First week of school

Wow, I can't believe that I just sent out the e-mail for the first week of school. YEAH! All the kids are getting on the bus and waving goodbye. It's time for you mothers to take time for mothers to take time for yourselves. Come and scrapbook.

As a treat for all you hard working mothers, we are having a FREE back to school crop on Thursday Sept 4th from 10 to 3. Add this to your schedule and make time for YOU.

We are still unpacking from our latest field trip. We just returned from a crop in Stamford, CT want to extend a BIG Welcome and Thanks to all of the new friends that we met. We hope to see them all soon at one of our crops.

Save the Date: 2nd annual CROP PINK We raised over $300 last year and hope to beat it, so grab your calendar and pencil in Sept 26 and 27th. Sept 26th we are having at the store, seats are limited, CALL and reserve your spot. Sept 27th we are having at one of our local venue so as soon as it is approved we will fill you in with those details, BUT put yourself on the list NOW and make a commitment to scrap for a cure.

Back by popular demand -Angelia Wigginton will be teaching at our crop in October. She is currently several projects for us. I can't wait to see what she has in store for us. This is something you don't want to miss.

I hope everyone is having a great summer. It has been a bit too quite here. We miss everyone. Sue just got back from vacation. In fact she ia having an Ice Cream CROP tonight at the store from 6 to ??? If you want to join her give her a call or stop by. I noticed that with the price of gas and food these days that alot of people are really watching there hobbies pricies. I want to remind everyone that we take AC Moore & Michaels Coupons upto 30%. Also you can come and crop for FREE during the day when we are open as long as you have our key tags.

Summer Hours Updates

Well we survied the CROP and we had so much fun. Denise and Janene taught wonderful classes. We missed all of our regulars that couldn't make it due to the date change. We have another crop in August with Crop Classix. If you check our website and follow the links you will see the crops that we will be attending. Sue has been cutting some page layouts with the pazzle so keep an eyeful watch on your e-mail to see what we are creating. Nancy has been in South Carolina for a few weeks now and we MISS her SOOOO much. We can't wait to see what she created while on vacation. We have NEW Summer hours. We will be closed Sunday-Wednesday, unless we have Kids CAMP. We will be open Thursday-Saturday. Check the website for hours and cropping time. Once I know more I will post. After much thought, Barbara and I have decided to restructure our business. We want to increase the amount of space we have in the store for our crops. In order to do this, we need to clear out some inventory. We will be having a 20% off sale on much of the merchandise in our store starting Tuesday July 1st. STORE HOURS FOR THE WEEK OF FOURTH OF JULY JULY 1ST, 2ND AND 3RD-10:00 AM-5:00 PM CLOSED FOR THE 4TH , 5TH, 6TH AND 7TH After our July crop retreat weekend, we will be scaling back our store hours. We will continue to have classes on Thursday evenings.

Crops will be held twice a month on Friday nights from 6pm-12am. Once a month, we will hold all day crops on Saturday from 10am-10pm. We will continue to hold Crops at the hotel four times a year. Kids classes and the kid's camps that are scheduled for July and August will not change. We will continue to offer birthday parties and Girl Scout Troop events at your request. We know that times are tough for everyone and we are doing this in hopes that it will keep everyone scrapping.

OK, Try to keep up. First of all sorry I haven't BLOGGED. The days go by so fast and then WOW it has been weeks since I have blogged. A few weeks before we went to MEMORY EXPO we partnered up with Croptopia Getaways. We will be sailing the highseas in October on our first CRUISE to Bermuda. You can join us, goto our website and click on the ship for more details. We had a great time at Memory EXPO. If you came to our booth and bought something we want to hear from YOU!! OK Now are you ready for this....We had to change our date for the retreat. The hotel totally screwed us up. As we were finalizing our plans (and confirming for the 3rd time) They were like OH by the way your dates are not available. So you can see how I started my day. I had to redo our registration forms and hope that everyone that wanted to attend can still come. Our Registration form is also on the website. I talked to Barb and because of all the problems we are having with the date change we are offering $10 off packages A&B as long as you register by June 18th.

Congrats to Janene and Dan on their engagement. Big Hudge Brownie points go out to Dan and his Amazing show of LOVE to Janene and UNDERSTANDING of her true passion for scrapbooking. Dan you single handedly made millions of woman jealous. All the best to both of you. If you didn't know Dan placed this add in Creating Keepsake Magazine for all the world to see. Janene is one of our awesome teachers and she will be teaching her STAR BOOK class on Sunday May 18th at 11:30, the cost is $30.

A week has gone by and we have unpacked our boxes and Lisa has traveled safely back to Texas. Now we are gearing up for the next project.

It has been 2 weeks since my last post and so much has gone on as you can see. The next couple of weeks will be busy too. We have Memory Expo and National Scrapbooking weekend coming up. And next week we have kids camp Tues - Friday. I also wanted to send out a big Thank You to our newest customers that came all the way from England to shop at our store. I had a wonderful time with them and I hope they come back and visit us soon. I know when they get home they will be the envy of all their scrapbooking friends. Maybe they will cross the ocean for one of our crops, and bring their friends, wouldn't that be fun.

The boxes keep arriving and we started packing. The countdown has begun. Less than 24 hours I will be loading my truck and heading up to Danbury to our weekend retreat. I cannot express enough that our store will be closed and we will be operating out of our Mini Store at the Sheraton. Lisa arrives tomorrow night, I can't wait to meet her in person. We still have room in some of her classes if anyone wants to attend you can look at our website to see the times or if you want to buy a kit after the class you can. Well, we have a lot to get done, so I will leave you until Tuesday. That is when the store will reopen. If you miss us or if you NEED to get some much needed supplies or inspiration stop by. Sorry I havn't posted since last month but we have been trying to keep up with the web page and the weekly e-mails PLUS plan a weekend retreat with Lisa M. Pace. We have new kits from Nancy's Craft Room. The last kit we put on the blog has been backordered, some of the papers that Nancy's picked are on backorder. So we put up another kit until the memories kit is available.

There is only a couple of these kits left so if you want them call me at the store. We are gearing up for our April retreat. Lisa M. Pace is packing her bags and gearing up to come to teach us some great classes. I will be posting the class pictures today on a slide show.

Wow, Nancy is just a wealth of inspiration. This is a preview of Nancy's Page Kit that will be available March 1st; however this might not be the only one for this month. That is why we are calling it "Kits from Nancy's Craft Room". That gives Nancy the freedom to create how many kits she wants to per month. We will try to preview all her kits a week or so before they are being released so you can pre-order them. You also have the option to join her "fan club" if you want. That entitles you to every kit that Nancy creates. You will be automatically added to the pre-order list so you don't miss out. We will only be making a certain number of kits plus our pre-orders and then that's it. CHA has come and gone. We started receiving catalogs from all the vendors. Tag Sale

Look at all the stuff!!!! Over 20 vendors dropped all of there stuff on Sunday and here is what is left after two days. We had women waiting for us Tuesday and boy do they know how to shop. We still have so much stuff left. Make a point this week to stop in and check out our tag sale.

Tag Sale Fever!!

WOW, We have over 20 vendors in our biggest tag sale ever. We have so much stuff to put out. I am still trying to figure out where we are going to put all of it. Barb and I are amazed at all the different styles that our customers have. On a different subject, rumor has it that Nancy is developing more kits for this month and for the months ahead. She had so many designs up her sleave just itiching to get out. Go Nancy!! This weeks assignment is to visit me and check out our Tag Sale. Our customers took the time to go through their stash and make the hard decision to let go of their stuff. It is only fair that we take the time to look through it all. Create something for your valentine this week.

OK We are back on-line. The web site is operational after a few days of work. We will be doing some maintenance at night to work out the kinks. We had a busy week:

Web Site Issues

Hi guys, I just wanted to let you know that we are having issues with our web site right now. Please be patient, hopefully it will be resolved by tonight. With a successfull store such as ours you need to have a professional image out on the web, and this is something that we have been working towards. We just didn't plan on making the transition this soon and effecting our customers the way it did. Sorry about that. A BIG thank you to everyone that called to report the web problems. Keep your fingers crossed that we will be up and running by tonight. Until then keep checking back here and the message board for up to the minute news.

Sorry Nancy, We made an Ooops

We made a BIG mistake. We took the picture (see below) and added it to the blog and the e-mail to all of our customers and then it happened. Nancy called and told us we put the pages backwards. Sorry Nancy, please forgive us.

NEW Monthly Page kits

Starting Tomorrow Feburary 1 we will be offering Montly page kits ($10), by Nancy. She worked really hard to bring us this awesome kit. Call to reserve your kit before they are gone.

Here is a close up the middle with some of the colors. The greens and the blues don't really show up as well as we would have wanted them too.

Nancy also put together this Valentines Class together for Feb 26th @ $7pm 18. So sign up today so you don't miss this one.

Nancy used the papers below for this layout. Nancy also designed a Kids Class.

February 9th $20

Call the store to sign up for all of Nancy's classes and kits. Nancy will also be designing the kids camp projects this month during Feb break. The kids camp will run from Feb 19 -Feb 22 Cost is $25 per day and that includes craft and a snack. Camp runs from 10 to 12:30 just enough time for you to have some "ME Time" so you can survive the week with the kids at home.
