CIA Director Leon Panetta called key members of Congress late Sunday to describe the killing of the Al Qaeda leader, and President Obama is expected to make the announcement on national TV.

Applications have been invited from citizens of India who are natives of Tamil Nadu for admission to the MBBS/BDS Degree Courses for 2011-12, in Government/Self-financing Medical/Dental Colleges coming under the purview of the Single Window System in Tamil Nadu.
Only one application has to be submitted for MBBS/BDS. Cost of Application is Rs.500/-. SC/ST Applicants are exempted from payment of Application fee. They can obtain the application by submitting a written requisition enclosing two sets of attested Xerox copies of the Community Certificate and the Plus Two Mark Sheet. Application can also be downloaded from www.tnhealth.org or from www.tn.gov.in and submitted with the Demand Draft as applicable.

Those applying under Special Categories [(i) Children of Freedom Fighters (ii) Children of Ex-Servicemen (iii) Eminent Sports Persons (iv) Physically Challenged persons] should submit Special Category Application along with Common Application form. For each Special Category, one application has to be submitted. Those applying under ‘Physically Handicapped Category’, have to enclose the certificate as specified in the Prospectus.

Tamil Nadu Congress president K.V. Thangkabalu announce the list of 63 constituencies for the April 13 assembly elections. The Congress will start accepting applications from aspiring candidates from Wednesday. "The application fee for a general constituency is Rs.5,000 and for a reserved constituency Rs.2,500. The fee for women aspirants is Rs.2,500," he said.

It was the first Indian talkie, which was so popular that the police aid had to be summoned to control the crowds.The starrers of the film were Master Vithal, Zubeida, Jilloo, Sushila and Prithviraj Kapoor.The director recognized the importance of the sound in the coming years in the cinema and so raced to complete Alam Ara before the entry of several other contemporary sound films.The film was inspired by the first movie version of Jerome Kern's Show Boat (1929), released by Universal Pictures.

The Webometrics Ranking of World Universities, also known as Ranking Web of World Universities, is ranking system for the world's universities based on a composite indicator that takes into account both the volume of the Web contents (number of web pages and files) and the visibility and impact of these web publications according to the number of external inlinks (site citations) they received. The ranking is published by the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) located in Madrid.

The Webometrics University Ranking is a ranking system based on university web presence, visibility and web access, This ranking system measures how strongly a university is present in the web by its own web domain, sub-pages, rich files, scholarly articles etc. The central hypothesis of this approach is that web presence is a reliable indicator of the global performance and prestige of the universities and as such, is an indirect way to measure all the university missions (teaching, research, transfer). Although the Web is universally recognized as the one of the most relevant tools for scholarly communication, it is still very rare these indicators are used for the evaluation of the scientific research and the academic performance of universities. Webometric indicators are provided to show the commitment of the institutions to Web publication.

Top universities are publishing millions of pages produced by dozens of departments and services, hundreds of research teams and thousands of scholars. Strong web presence informs of a wide variety of factors that are clearly correlated with the global quality of the institution: Widespread availability of computer resources available, global internet literacy, policies promoting democracy and freedom of speech, competition for international visibility or support of open access initiatives, among others.

In March 2011, Times Higher Education[THE] released its first World Reputation Rankings. The rankings were sourced from a survey of more than 13,000 academics from 131 countries that nominated universities as being the best in their field in teaching and research.Four Australian universities are listed among the world's top 100 most reputable universities: University of Queensland (UQ), the University of Melbourne, University of Sydney and The Australian National University.
A total of 15 Asian universities made their way into the world's top 100 universities for reputation, with University of Tokyo rated 1st in Asia and 8th in the world, followed by Kyoto University (second best in Asia and 18th best in the world), National University of Singapore (third best in Asia and 27th worldwide).

The election dates for four states Tamil Nadu, Assam, Kerala and West Bengal and the union territory, Puducherry. The election dates for Kerala and Tamil Nadu is April 13. West Bengal will have election on 6 days starting from April 18. Assam will have its election on two different dates (April 4 and April 11). The counting process of these elections in all the states will start on May 13. The Election Commission has announced dates for elections to Assemblies in four States and the Union Territory of Puducherry. Assam will have a two-phased poll on April 4 and 11. Kerala, Puducherry and Tamil Nadu will have a single-phase election on Apri1 13. West Bengal will have a six-phase poll starting April 18 and ending May 10. Counting of votes in all the four States and Puducherry will be held on May 13.
