Saipan Career Exploration Day

Students must submit their application to participate in the Saipan Chamber of Commerce second Student Career Exploration Day no later than today, Sept. 14. This is a correction to the earlier report that the deadline is Sept. 21.

The Chamber's Student Career Exploration Day will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, the day of the Chamber's General Membership Meeting.

High school juniors and seniors at private or public schools are eligible to participate in the program. There is no cost to the student, although they must provide their own transportation to and from the worksite.

Students can get applications from their high school principals, at the Chamber of Commerce office, or at the Chamber website, www.saipanchamber.com.

Applications will be considered in the order they are received. Applications must be complete, and both permission slips must be signed; early application is recommended.

LPN

LPN - Licensed Practical and Licensed Vocational Nurse. LPNs work with hypodermic needles, nebulizers, patient care beds, patient stabilization or fall prevention devices or accessories, spirometers, and more. This is an InDemand occupation.

Evaluating nursing intervention outcomes, conferring with other health care team members as necessary.

Lodging Manager

Consider this oppupation if you enjoy:

The old adage may not always be ture, but in the case of your career it is. If you want to find the right career you've got to take the time to do it right. That is why this blog is called Launch Yourself, as opposed to some other fun name like Employ Me, because you can't be passive about your career, you've got to find or create your own career ladder - you've got to launch yourself.

I created this blog to provide resources primarily for individuals seeking employment or looking to change careers, but I think that even steady career professionals can enjoy the content that I hope to provide.

I'm still working out all of the features of this blog but 3 to 5 occupations will be featured each week guided by the Letter of the Week in the left sidebar. There will be links to free online career assessments and other helpful websites. I will post tips on all aspects of career development and maybe even get into some skills development. I also hope to interview a Saipan professional once a month to learn about their journey up the career ladder (also held constant in the left sidebar).
