So as many of you know, I have a little bit of a history bug.  I’ve been spending the last couple years traveling with my son and husband to historic places (mainly Colonial Williamsburg – my happy place) and posting my photographs on our Instagram feed.  Most of my travels have been themed around the American Revolution but we love all early American history.  I started a new travel blog called, The Trail of the Lonesome Pine, which will feature photographs and stories of the unique and fun places we have visited as well as upcoming travels.  You can visit the blog here. My plan is to attend as many living history events as possible and post those photographs there.  Also, I plan on interviewing interpreters and learning about the research they do that gives so much detail to their characters. I”ll also share tips and reviews on books, events, places, and the hotels we stay at.  Here are a few pictures I took this year at the Brooksville Raid in Florida. This weekend I plan on going to the Revolutionary War Weekend at Mt Vernon.  Wish me luck on my first American Revolution Battle reenactment and please feel free to leave me any comments and suggestions to  places that may be interesting for me to visit as well as upcoming events that I should attend that would make great photo opps!

2018 Spring Wildflower Sessions are now being scheduled!

Wildflower Location is 10 minutes North of the Waldo Flea Market – directions will be sent upon completion of signup

Session Dates: Friday, April 27th 6, 6:30, 7:00, 7:30,  Saturday, April 28th: 7:30 p.m.  Sunday, April 29th  6, 6:30, 7, 7:30

Additional dates will be during the week only. 

$395 -Half Session 25 minutes & for up to 4 subjects only (20 – 25 digital files)
$495 – Full Session 60 minutes up to 8 subjects  (40-50 digital files)

It is one of my favorite Gainesville events.  The weather is perfect!  There is amazing knife acts, acrobats, combat fightings not to mention the gazillion vendors that sell everything from magic wands to pet dragons! ]]> Grant + Susan | Last Session of 2017 http://thephotoenthusiast.com/grant-susan-last-session-of-2017/ Thu, 18 Jan 2018 17:42:37 +0000 http://thephotoenthusiast.com/?p=8219 My very last session of 2017 was a last minute small wedding in Haile Plantation.  I don’t normally photograph weddings – but I do do a limited number of small weddings and civil ceremonies.  I love the intimacy of a smaller affair and meeting all the friends and family.  Grant + Susan live outside of the States but wanted to include their immediate family – so they planned a very small affair right around the holidays.  I was so honored to photograph their wedding – it was the perfect way to say goodbye to 2017.
