How to Make Your Own Stamp

This is just a test subject, and the first Signature Laurel Stamp!

I'm excited to see where this process leads me in the future, but for now, it's her..

Two toned print:

All you have to do to make your own stamp, is draw a design on a piece of foam. Then cut it out and glue it onto a piece of board. Voila!! Your own stamp! ~*

Laguna Beach Plein Air Painting with Calvin Lang

My Dad and I did some plein air painting in Laguna Beach

after watching a bit of demo by artist Calvin Lang.

There were quite a few plein air painters practicing their craft, and

so it was a lovely day in paradise~*

I brought an artist friend and attended a Cyanotype Workshop with Danielle McCullough, sponsored by the Long Beach Arts Council. We loved it! Ms. McCullough shared her method of cyanotype print making, a photographic printing process using UV light that is credited as the method for the first female photograher, Anna Atkins. We experimented with prints on watercolor paper as well as fabric panels!

Every Artist needs to sketch for fun. It's not hard to carve out time in your day. All of the following sketches took exactly 18 minutes to complete. The top 2 took sketches took 10 minutes.

In these bottom sketches I allowed myself only 60 seconds per face.
