My Little Beauty! Holly Springs Baby Photographer

My sweet little girl Alyssa is 17months old now and time has just flown! I realized that I had shown any pictures of her recently.

My son Connor was the easiest toddler EVER! He would play contently for hours at a time, never got into anything he wasn't supposed to and never EVER made a mess! His sister...well, let's just say, she's the complete opposite! If you can climb it, she will! Even things I think are impossible to climb, she manages to find a way. Her area of expertise is mess making. You can clean a room and in 5 seconds flat she will have destroyed it. My make up drawer is her favorite. She empties it, runs off with brushes, mascara, etc and it will take weeks to find where she's hidden it. I was amazed she stayed dressed during these pictures because another one of her past favorites is undressing herself! She's a handful but ooooo, she is so sweet! She might be a holy terror to take to a restaurant but we love her to pieces and through her wonderful little toddler antics, we are able to laugh and say, "this too shall pass" and enjoy every second of her :)

It was such a hot, miserable evening...and then they showed up, one of the most fun families I ever worked with! It was soooo hot and we were all melting but they still had a blast. There were so many fun, great shots I got of this family that it was hard for me to pick my favorites for the blog, but here are just a handful of some of the shots we captured!

I have had the joy of watching this little girl grow up over the last year! I photographed her when she was just a few days old and then every three months after that! We decided to do smash cake pictures for her 1 year old session and because of this horrible heat, her cake melted in her momma's car! Luckily we had icing (thanks to my husband's weird icing addiction) and we were able to salvage some of the cake! Happy birthday Madison!!!

I always enjoy my clients. I have been extremely fortunate with my clients. They are all nice, fun people. Troy and Jenn, hands down, some of my favorite people ever!!! I think I have laughed more during our sessions than during any other session I've done. I was so excited after doing their maternity session and couldn't wait to do their newborn session because I knew it would be a morning of hanging out and cutting up with fun people!

Meet baby Emma! Isn't she gorgeous? She was so tiny and soooo sleepy...just how I like them :) She was absolutely perfect and so easy to work with.

Isn't Ben the cutest thing ever??? I couldn't get over how sweet this little guy was. He was in such a good mood for his entire session and I couldn't get over how cute he was . I could have just eaten him up! His parents are getting ready to move up north to start new jobs so unfortunately I won't be seeing Ben anymore but I was so thrilled to do this session for them during their last few weeks in North Carolina. Baby Taylor was the first of three newborn sessions I had this last week and she was just as perfect, sleepy and sweet as could be. She slept the whole time and really didn't make a peep. I just adore her hair. I always tell my clients, babies with a full head of hair have a special place in my heart ever since my daughter came out with a full head herself. They remind me of my own sweet newborn that is no longer even close to a newborn!

This was a fun and sweet session for me to do! Congratulations B family!!! She's beautiful!

I have had newborn session after newborn session this week and I have been so lucky that each and every one of my clients has been a real joy to work with! Julie and Jake were no exception. They were great fun to hang out with and chat with during this session. Baby Isaac was absolutely perfect and easy for me. He slept the whole time and made my job super easy! He's absolutely adorable and slept like a little champ the whole time!

My husband and I have lived in our house for almost 8 years now. We are extremely blessed to have Chris and Jessica as our neighbors. Chris helps my husband with odd jobs around the house, Jessica and I have always gotten along really well, joking and teasing and our sons have always enjoyed playing together. When you live right by someone for years you almost become like family and I'm so thankful they are part of our family.

To say this pregnancy is an exciting time in their life is an understatement! They have been on a very long and painful journey to be where they are now and when I found out they were pregnant I got chills and tears in my eyes. I am so excited for them and so happy for them!!!

This was such an exciting shoot for me. They had no idea what the gender of their baby was until they opened this box! The ultrasound tech called after their visit and told me it was a girl and I start filling up pink balloons! This was soooo much fun for me!

Congratulations Jessica, Chris and Avery! We love you all and can't wait to meet baby Lauren!!!

This was hands down, one of my favorite sessions to date! I love working with all these babies but what makes my job even more of a dream job is when I get to work with these adorable babies and meet great people like Brynn and Todd. Brynn and I talked the entire time during this session (and anyone who knows me knows I like to talk!). It didn't feel like work in the least but more like hanging out while I got a break from my own kids!!!

Brayden is absolutely adorable! He was perfect, and I mean PERFECT for this session. He didn't hardly move, let me do whatever I wanted, put him in different poses, baskets, buckets! He was a little trooper and on top of it, just look at him! He comes from two cute parents so he's destined to be a little heart breaker!

Brynn, I had a blast this morning talking with you and Brayden is absolutely beautiful and perfect! Congratulations you two!!! Happy napping :)

Good Things! Raleigh Family Photographer

Good things come to those who wait! At least that's what I kept telling myself. I had to reschedule this session 3 times because of all of this rain we've been getting! Of course I rescheduled it for today and a tropical depression was in the forecast to come and bring lots of rain to Raleigh. This morning it looked bleak! It rained all day in Holly Springs but at 2 pm I saw tiny bits of blue in the sky! By 6 tonight, it was absolutely gorgeous outside! No humidity, not scorching hot, just perfect!

Amy is absolutely adorable! She's 4.5 and she was so sweet and good for these pictures. I don't think she minded too much being in front of the camera :) and that made it easy and very enjoyable for me! Janine and Bobby, I'm so happy the weather finally cooperated for us tonight!

Jackson Turns 1!!!

Jackson is such a cute little boy! I've been working with this family since he was in his momma's belly and I always enjoy seeing them and seeing how Jackson's grown. He's a ham, no way around it. This boy is funny, and all boy!

Golf is important to this family. For Jackson's newborn pictures we filled the bucket I put him in with golf balls, it's always been incorporated into his sessions. This time we did the session at the country club where his parents play golf. I'm always excited to do something different! We also did smash cake pictures with him and he didn't disappoint :)

It was great seeing you three again!

Keira is 6 Months Old!!!

Keira has grown quite a bit since I saw her last. She was just a brand new baby the last time I saw her and now she's an active, very happy baby! Her momma brought the cutest outfits for her and she was pretty content hanging out for her pictures!

Last weekend I met up with Claire and her family to do some one year old pictures! I think she is absolutely adorable! What a pretty baby girl she is! We had met up for a previous session but Claire wasn't in the mood for pictures that day :) so we tried again and she was in much better spirits this time! This was a really sweet family and Claire's two older brothers were happy just to be running around while I photographed Claire. They did stop long enough for me to get a few family shots as well.

I always have so much fun getting to know my clients and am amazed at the trust they instill in my, allowing me to handle their babies, come into my home and spend several hours with me. Bradi and Mark were so nice and so easy to talk with. Everly is just beautiful and Mark is definitely smitten with his new little girl. Bradi was so at ease with her and so natural.

Everly was just wonderful, but then again, what brand new baby isn't? She was a hungry little girl and she took lots of snack breaks which just gave me a chance to change her backdrops, etc.

Family of Six! Raleigh Family Photographer

This was such a fun session for me for many many reasons but mostly because Stella is a friend of mine that I hadn't seen in 13 years! The first time I met her I was 16 years old! That was a lifetime ago! She looks the exact same but has 4 kids now and they were all just beautiful! It was so much fun to see her so happy in her life with her family!

Photographing a family with four kids is soooo different than doing portraits of a baby, or a toddler. I've done sessions with families of 6 and it's always so much fun. The age range among these kids were 3-16. They were all so good and really did well! I know Stella and Rick were worn out by the end of our session but I think the kids were perfect and totally themselves!

Sydney Turns 1!!! Holly Springs Baby Photographer

You may remember Sydney, or at least those of you who entered my cutest kid contest last year will, if not, take a peak at the session she won, http://laurengarrisonphoto.blogspot.com/2011/10/cutest-kid-holly-springs-baby.html. She took the contest by storm and won and I had such a blast doing her session. She's back and she's 1!!! I was so happy when her momma contacted me about doing her 1 year pictures because Shannon is so easy to get along with and she always dresses Sydney so cute!

Having a 1 year old myself I was fully prepared for Sydney :) She was everything a one year old should be, funny, active and ready to explore my house! She is so stinkin cute it's hard to not laugh at all of her little antics. Her aunt came along for the session and I'm fairly confident her and Shannon were both sweating by the end of our session from grabbing Sydney and chasing after her. Again, she's so stinkin cute! Who wouldn't want to chase her :)

Thanks for letting me see Sydney again! She's just as cute as she was a few months ago and even cuter with those long curls!!!

Family Fun! Cary Family Photographer

I have use three different photographers since I've been a photographer and each time they have posted their blogs they always talked about how nerve wracking it was shooting another photographer and her family. I now know how they felt! Laura is a local photographer and boy was I nervous when I went and met her adorable twin boys and husband for her session. She of course wanted to be the majority of pictures because she's never in any that she takes (I know about this all too well!). I was hoping I could give her what she wanted and deliver the kind of images she had envisioned! We had a ton of fun and to be honest, I always find it fun to meet other local photographers and get to know them.

Nate and Alex, boy are these guys handsome! They are twins and not identical in looks or personalities. They are both equally cute and sweet though! Having a 4.5 year old myself it's always amazing to see children a few years older than my son because I see what I get to look forward to. Nate and Alex were funny and I mean funny! They had wonderful senses of humor and were a joy to work with.

Mr. Ty decided to make an early appearance! He is just as perfect and sweet as he can possibly be. He was just perfect for his session and let me do just about all that I wanted to with his posing. About 2 months ago I got an email from his mom asking if we could put him on a football. I explained that a NFL football is about 11 1/2 inches long so logistically, I didn't think we could do it. Once I found out Ty was here I started thinking and searching for some poses that incorporate a football and we ended up doing the one shown below...and I love how it turned out!

I got an email from Presley's mom a few days ago, urgently wanting a newborn session for her daughter who was quickly coming up on 2 weeks of age! Luckily I had an opening Monday morning so I said, bring her on over and we'll get it done!

She was so great for the session, I could have posed her all day. She slept and stirred just a little throughout her session. Her big brother Tanner came along for the session and was incredibly well behaved. For 2.5, I can't believe he was so quiet and calm!

Heath and Devon Married! Raleigh Wedding Photographer

What a beautiful wedding this was! I loved the close, intimate feel of it. This wedding was a few weeks ago, during the weekend when we had all the rain. I was so hopeful that this wedding was going to be completed before the rain started...and we ALMOST made it :) Literally minutes before Devon was set to walk down the isle, the rain started. All of the guests grabbed their chairs and ran under the tent where the reception was to take place. Needless to say, an intimate setting quickly became even more intimate.

Heath and Devon are some of the nicest people I've had the opportunity to work with. Devon was all smiles the whole day and poor Heath, he tensed up every.single.time I raised my camera to get a shot of him. Towards the end of the night I as able to sneak a few without him seeing :)
