<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>This delicious fruit loaf is made with yeast and saffron &amp; tea infused fruit. It’s based on the famous Cornish Saffron Cake, but with tea and not milk being used as the liquid ingredient.</strong></p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It is a recipe that I created in collaboration with&nbsp;Viking Cruises, and&nbsp;Tregothnan Estate&nbsp;a few years ago, after a&nbsp;visit to their Tea Gardens&nbsp;in Cornwall.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">I have such fond memories of our family days out to the seaside, and the&nbsp;fish and chips wrapped in newspaper,&nbsp;which we ate in the car on the way home.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">You don’t have to be English to enjoy these recipes I am sharing today, as I’m sure we’ve all embraced a pint of Guinness on St Paddy’s Day, a wee dram on St Andrew’s Day as well as several Welsh Cakes on St David’s Day.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>We had a lovely Easter, with family, and many tea trays and high teas were served! One cake that I made twice, was this recipe for Malted Milk Chocolate Cake.</strong></p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">I originally saw the recipe in the&nbsp;Ocado Life magazine, and it looked so delectable, that I decided to make it for our Easter and&nbsp;Spring tea time&nbsp;tables.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Today&#8217;s recipe for St George&#8217;s Hall Cake, is from an old cookbook called the &#8220;Liverpool School of Cookery Recipe Book&#8221;, first published in 1900, so over 100 years ago.</strong></p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It&#8217;s a rather unsual fruit cake, with just&nbsp;currants&nbsp;added, along with&nbsp;mixed peel,&nbsp;grated fresh ginger and&nbsp;caraway seeds.</p>
