physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, intellectual

I'm working on a series of sculptures.

Titled:

The inventory to date:

my precious Fiestaware persimmon carafe

my Hoosier glass art deco vase

my whimsical glass painted clown/santa ornament with red boa feathers

my ceramic fish

2 Fiestaware chartreusse soup cups

(notice not quite as precious as the orange carafe)

odds and ends of jewelry

some junk, some not so much junk.

The persimmon carafe is already in a private collection.

It was love at first sight for this art collector.

I loved that carafe and I broke it and

my heart broke when it broke.

It was a great piece and I did use it.

I love Fiestaware.

the carafe spoke to her immediately.

What it said to her I'm not sure,

but I know she has appreciation for it

and that's what matters to me

She gets it.

She might not even know that she gets it

or even what "it" is.

But it's gotten

by someone

and that's what matters to me.

Not to mention,

all items are about me so far

it's all about

period.

BUT

We've had a situation with

action figure toy

if that's what it can be called.

it's a toy made out of resin

it's a figure of The Situation

but i'm not seeing a lot of "action"

except for he is smiling

the toy did see action last week though

the toy fell to my tile floor

did not shatter

broke into 8 exact pieces

although only 7 have been recovered.

The fingers are still missing.

The toy was a gift

sort of

from a dirty santa ornament exchange.

I took it off of someone's hands

that didn't want it.

The toy meant very little to begin with.

Once a broken toy, it became even less.

Went for breakfast.

A man was walking around the restaurant

with a holster/gun on his side.

I thought he was a customer.

He wasn't.

He was running the register.

WOW.

After I paid

he said he'd like to give me a rose

What girl wouldn't want a beautiful rose?

There by the register were two vases

Long stem white roses

Long stem red roses.

He said, here this one is perfect.

He handed me a long stem white rose.

WOW.

I ordered pancakes and sausage patties.

Pancakes were HUGE and yummy

Patties were SPICY and yummy.

This restaurant is your typical southern

Meat n Three.

Open 5:30 am for breakfast

Close at 3 pm after lunch.

Great menu of fine country dining.

Maybe I do like guns, I doubt it, but I loved shooting at the big game.

I couldn't, never would, in real life, but I'm good at

shooting moving targets. (note to self)

what I realized:

While some are hiding in the bushes

shooting at the enemy

I will be placing the flag on top of the mountain.

1. I wore a shirt that showed up like lightening in a rain storm

2. I preferred the running around like crazy,

shooting like a maniac at people.

Yes I was a target, but I didn't care.

I am more of a mover and shaker

So why the hell the fear and anxiety?

I just hate that,

I'm painting abstracts but don't have images to share.

So let's talk politics.

"We the people" are starting to speak

to make noise

"We the people" have been silenced for some time.

Their voices lost.

"We the people" have let others speak for us.

Mistake?

From a lost and silent people come the sounds of frustration

From tired souls releasing a roar of thunder

The beginning perhaps?

One can only imagine.

I am one therefore I shall imagine it's only the beginning.

An unraveling of complications.

Complications that got "we the people" here, of course.

splatters mostly

with a few lines

i like

i find them calming

they can be anything

they can be nothing

like life

it can be anything

and in that anything

nothing is included.

I think Tropical Storm Lee

is knocking at my door.

The rain and the wind are welcome.

The yellow grass is turning to it's original green.

It's wet and shiny

reflections of Mother Nature.

Anderson Cooper's "Irene disappointment" in lack of action

It's obvious.

Anderson is disappointed.

It's not what he is saying.

He's saying all the right things. Like "that's a relief".

But the tone of his voice is not.

I think

he was hoping for

some

"major newscaster

being blown sideways

in a scary scene

from the most present

hurricane"

action.

Good thing

Solidad did the piece on

"what's happening in the basement, because nothing is happening outside

in the meat packing district?"

Good scare

Did you see the guy in the yellow slicker messing with the pump hose jump back when the camera pointed at him?

Why you do that mister?

Good intrigue

Good fill

Is there a bit of jealousy that John King is in Long Beach

where the action is?

The water is coming.

The power is growing.

His reception is bad.

The levy's are breaching.

The water's are rising.

The flood has arrived.

And Anderson is where it looks like there was a bad rain storm.

The anticipation of the worst

has turned to disappointment towards the relief.

Good question

Anderson is a pro.

He'll get over it.

He'll find something else to embrace

and the

disappointment towards

the

"lack of action"

will subside,

unlike the

waters of the Atlantic.

Are we ever really happy?

He's already doing it.

He's smiling.

He's orchestrating communications between neighborhoods.

He'll find the stories to replace the lack of dramatic action from Mother Nature.

The human factor.

There's always a story.

Might not be what it was thought to be

but it might be more than what was thought to be

by being more than anything could have ever been thought to be.

This is a follow up post to a couple days ago.

Just so you know, I'm not forecasting Irene.

The story is a metaphor that is playing out in my

own personal life

It's not a political statement on those that live in Washington DC.

It's not an economic statement on that which I refer to as: Wall Street

It's not a statement against getting old and sick.

It's not a statement on the weather.

It's a metaphor.

And the metaphor hit land on Wednesday.

Thank God I wasn't there for it.

I would have cracked.

It's not over.

I know it.

I feel it.

I see it.

The writing is on the wall

and the clouds are certainly in the sky

It might be written in invisible ink

but it is there.

I am living in the known but waiting for the unknown to appear

Will it?

Yes, I believe it will.

Am I ready for it?

No.

But I say bring it.

Let the dark clouds pass,

telling the truth of the light
