The Big Cat Habitat

We took the kids to The Big Cat Habitat in Sarasota last weekend. It is a small zoo that specializes in cats but has a few other types of animals as well. I have never seen so many tigers in one place before. It was pretty cool, although one tiger was eyeing Johnny the entire time during a show! The kids loved it and were actually able to feed a Kodiak Bear and a Tiger (on a long stick through fences of course!). The Kodiak Bear was ENORMOUS. You can't really tell in the picture how big he really is cause he is sitting down.

Pumpkin Festival

We took the kids to a pumpkin festival this past weekend to try to get in the Fall spirit despite being in Florida. It wasn't quite like being in Wisconsin but the kids had fun anyways!

Alexandra's First Stitches

On Monday Alexandra had a terrible fall off of one of our riding toys and split her chin open on the tile floor. When I saw the cut and the amount of blood I knew immediately that she was going to need stitches. Two hours later we returned home from the hospital with 5 stitches in Alexanrda's chin. Parts of the hospital visit were a bit scary for her but overall she has been a trooper. She gets her stitches out on Monday.

Johnnycakes is good. He was just staring at Alexandra on Monday when she fell. He had absolutely no idea what was going on other than she had a boo boo. Nick works only 5 minutes from our house so he rushed home when it happened to go to the hospital with us. Johnny kept telling Nick in the car that Alexandra had a boo boo but he didn't.

20 Weeks (4 1/2 Months) Pregnant

I am halfway through my pregnancy already. I am 20 weeks which is 4 1/2 months pregnant. Time is flying by! I think I have started to feel the baby move but it is hard to say for sure at this point especially when it seems the only time I am not moving with two kids is in bed at night when I am sleeping.

Alexandra and Johnny are doing great. Alexandra just finished her second week of school and is loving it. Johnny is enjoying his 'mama time' at home in the mornings with me.

The kids and I just spent two wonderful weeks in Wisconsin with my family. Alexandra and Johnny had so much fun playing with their cousins. Wish we lived closer so they could see each other more often. Can't wait for our next trip home at Thanksgiving already!

Trying to dress up like Baba!

We just spent a very fun weekend in Dallas at my cousin Brittany and Walt's wedding. Brittany was a GORGEOUS bride and the two of them looked so happy. Walt is a great catch and an awesome addition to the family.

The kids are doing great. Johnny is finally adding new words to his vocabulary at a more rapid pace. He is on his way to talking! Last week we moved him into a regular bed. He is so proud of it and so far we haven't had any issues, thankfully. Alexandra is turning into me more and more everyday. It seems she is always either planning something for her baby or stuffed animals or organizing something. She seems to think she is Johnny's mom. I have to remind her that she's not! She is obsessed with the new baby in my belly and has even asked me if she can come the next time the doctor is going to show me pictures of the baby.

We are now counting the days down til we go up to Wisconsin next week, can't wait!

3 months pregnant

I am now 3 months pregnant! I have had a little belly for about a month now. I thought I showed fast with Johnny but this baby gave me a belly right away. I have been feeling good this time around again, just tired which is starting to go away since I am getting out of my first trimester. We still have not decided if we are going to find out the sex of the baby. Nick wants to know but I want it to be a surprise. So we'll see if I change my mind as the day gets closer that we can actually find out. If you ask Alexandra and Johnny, Alexandra will tell you that she wants a sister and Johnny will tell you that he wants a brother.

Field Trip to Train Station

Last week Alexandra had a class field trip to a train station and got to ride on a real train. She loved it! Next week is her last week of school, hard to believe her first year of preschool is over!

Today is our 5th Anniversary! We celebrated a couple of weeks ago. The kids' wonderful Uncle Steve babysat for us so we could go out and have an early celebration. While we were out he took this video of the kids and sent it to us on our phones. It was so cute that I had to share it with you!

We had a great Easter last weekend. When the kids woke up in the morning they immediately searched for their Easter baskets the Easter Bunny left in the house. Johnny was very confused what they were looking for when Alexandra was searching for the baskets. He was getting mad that they weren't watching their cartoons. But when Alexandra found his basket and Johnny saw what was inside he got very excited! Two minutes after finding their baskets they ran outside to look for Easter Eggs. The rest of the day was spent with Nick's family as well as a couple of close friends and cousins over brunch and dinner. Can hardly believe May is almost here!

At the Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa they are having a special dinosaur exhibit that we took the kids to this weekend. Alexandra liked it but Johnny was scared. Although he roared in the car all the way to the zoo and was running with excitement to the dinosaur area, once he took a look at the first one he ran for me to pick him up and wouldn't let me put him down. Nick, the big kid that he is and the tourist that I am loved it!

Grandma's Visit

We just had a wonderful, long visit with my Mom. We did soooo much, the pool, the beach, Busch Gardens, the zoo, the Childrens' Museum, took the kids out to dinner, went out to dinner ourselves and even got to get in some quality time together shopping, eating and walking while the kids were at school a couple of mornings. We miss her and my Dad already! My Mom's trip down here was the end of my Dad's 7 week Florida stay.

Alexandra's 4th Birthday!

Alexandra turned 4 this past Friday! She had three fun days of celebrating. On Thursday she got to bring brownies to school to for her birthday. On Friday she got to go to Chuck E Cheese with Mommy, Baba and Johnny, choose her favorite dinner and open presents from us. Then on Saturday she had a birthday party that all her friends got to come to. She was soooooo excited to have her friends from school at her party. Her two best girl friends at school are in the picture above. They are so cute together. All the boys ran around and played while Alexandra opened her presents but these two cutie pies sat with Alexandra the entire time she opened her presents. After three filled days Alexandra was beat last night, we've never seen her so tired!

As most people know my Dad does not like the Packers. To harass my brother-in-law, Mackey, in particular my Dad made a Steeler sign out of paper and taped it to his shirt. I took a picture of him with it on and he messaged it to Mackey. He then kept this piece of paper taped to himself all day and throughout the entire football game. Well, part way into the game Alexandra asked me for a piece of paper, a black marker and some tape. She went and got to work with her supplies and came back with the piece of paper taped to her just like Grandpa! It was too cute!!

Birthday Boy! - Johnny turned 2!

Johnny turned 2 yesterday! Where does the time go! I can't believe it was his second birthday. I just do not want my babies to grow up! I want them to stay little and silly! We had a nice birthday party with just family. He is in heaven right now with all his new boy toys. He is ridiculously hard to get a picture of. He thinks its hilarious to hide, look down or turn around when I try to take his picture as you can see in the first two pictures. The pictures above that he is actually looking at the camera are the only two from his birthday party. The video is of when we sang happy birthday to him. You'll notice he has his hands on his ears for quite a bit of it and he even put his fingers in his ears at one point. I guess our singing wasn't very pretty!

We just got home from spending two weeks up in Wisconsin for Christmas and New Years. We had the best time like always. There was tons of snow while we were up there so we had a white Christmas and Alexandra got to play and sled in the snow just like she wanted. It was so nice to hang out with my family for two weeks, relaxing and eating A LOT of food. On our way home we declared that Johnny finally said his first word! Mama! He sounds so cute saying it and hopefully this is start of many more words to come out of his mouth!

We have been very busy getting ready for Christmas! We decorated our tree and put up all of our Christmas decorations. The kids picked out new ornaments to add to the tree. We have made a gingerbread house and written a letter to Santa. We took the kids to see Santa, watched Alexandra in her first Christmas program at school and just hosted our first and now to be annual Christmas party! And now we are packing and counting down the days til we leave on Friday for Wisconsin! We can hardly wait. We will be spending both Christmas and New Years up in Wisconsin. To everyone we won't see or be spending the holidays with Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Thanksgiving Day

The kids with Yia Yia and Papou on Thanksgiving Day.

We just enjoyed a visit from my Aunt Mary and Uncle Jim the week before Thanksgiving. I love that my parents have a house down here, everyone comes to visit!

We had a great Thanksgiving today with Nick's family. My wonderful mother-in-law did almost all of the cooking. All I had to do was make potatoes. It was nice to just relax, so thank you Aleca! The week before Thanksgiving my Aunt Mary and Uncle Jim were down using my parents house. I always love seeing them and we had a lot of fun taking the kids to a farm, the aquarium and the beach. We ate dinner at the beach one night with them and afterwards Alexandra told me that was the best restaurant she has ever been to!

Me and the kids! - An average day in our life!

Hello! Hello! We are all good here in Florida, looking forward to the holidays! This year we will stay down here in Florida for Thanksgiving and then will head up to Wisconsin for Christmas and New Years! In the meantime I have been busy painting our house and training for a half marathon that I will run in the beginning of December. The kids are both doing well. Alexandra is already anxiously waiting for Santa to come. She is a planner like her Mama and has already made a Christmas list. I am still waiting for words to spill out of Johnny's mouth. In the meantime he keeps himself very busy every day trying to either play with his sister or irritate her!
