Airbnb Host - FREE Smoke and Carbon Monoxide (CO) Detector

I always wanted a smoke detector for Nic's Pad. I believe I could get it from Ace Hardware or DIY store, but I just brain freeze or lazy to go & get it. After all, I do not think my Airbnb guest would smoke inside the bedroom or toilet or living room, and I got a balcony for them to smoke with ashtray prepared on the foldable table. The info & rules are in my Airbnb page. But you know what, better to be safe than sorry. Just install one anyway.

Then, I login to Airbnb website (because Airbnb app doesn't display info as much as website) today because I want to find the snippet code to embed my listing on my blog page (turns out no more badge code but I work out one of my own. See right side of the page), and accidentally found out that Airbnb is giving out FREE smoke detector! (Not sure it has been there for a long time or just recently because I have been using Airbnb app since my first booking. Kekeke)

So, it seem to be pure luck because I hardly login website nowadays & it is free somemore. I just gotta grab it. And I'm going to tell my friends about it. Yeah, few of them are actually Airbnb host as well.

Here's where you can find it in Airbnb website (after login, if you're a host):

My cousin Jessica wanted a short holiday trip during her leaves & asked us if we would like to travel together, and my grandma.

It was 1st time for us to travel with my relatives, 2nd time to travel with people. I mean we hardly travel with people, almost every holiday trip is just both of us.

Luckily it turned out okay. To my surprise, my grandma was more than well-fit in her age to follow us. Simply amazing!

So here is our 4 days 3 nights in Chiang Mai. Let the photos speak :)

On arrival we were trapped for a long time just to get through immigration checkpoint. There were too many tourists, especially from China. And yes, month December is always the peak season for Chiang Mai. It took us 1 hour 40 minutes from landing to checkout. But luckily the journey from airport to Chiang Mai town was only 15minutes.

I booked this budget hotel via Agoda because it was near to the night bazaar & market. If it were just two of us going, we would probably go for Meridien hotel standard & above. This we can compromise if we go travel with friends. Anyway, the hotel interior design was pretty impressive and the room was just fine to me as long as clean in every way.
The reception staff was friendly & giving help as much as they could. For two rooms booking via Agoda the price was around RM 1000.00 for 4 days 3 nights.

After check-in & rested for like 10minutes, we were hungry and need to eat. Yet I led them to the north from hotel to find food (lol), turns out nothing much in the north region. We walked all the way back & to Night Bazaar area. Luckily found a decent restaurant in junction of Ragang Road and Chang Klan Road.

They provide free wifi as long as you dine in. Bear in mind, if you're in a hurry, avoid this restaurant because the food waiting time will be killing you. Good point is, worth the wait and the food was great. Must try the coconut water ;)

Basically the 1st day was just only 1/2 day. After dinner, we jalan-jalan in the night bazaar. Actually it is no different from Petaling Street in Kuala Lumpur where it sells replica branded stuff like handbags, purse/wallet, watches & so on.

Things that WORTH to buy here are, fridge magnet & clothes. Haha.

Halal Street in Chiang Mai.

There was more than 1 stall selling rotee in Night Bazaar, I believe. The one I'm showing here is full of people queuing to buy. So we decided to give it a try. Watch the above video for making rotee. It is quite similar to Malaysia local roti canai.

Rotee with Banana and Nutella. Yummy! And its only 50 Baht.

Look at how excited we were. Not sure how many pieces she put into her mouth. Hahaha.

The next 2 days we have private tour guide to take us to a few places that must go if visiting Chiang Mai. I read about this agency from tripadvisor site, the response from everyone was pretty good. The name of the agency was Travel Hub Chiang Mai (http://www.travelhubchiangmai.com). So 1 month before the actual trip I write them about few places that I want to go and they helped me arranging it. Here's the itinerary & price. Bear in mind, prices shown here is backdated if you read this years later.

Of course, we did not go on boat trip in Mekong River (to Laos) because we were afraid of kidnapping. I was afraid of kidnapping. LOL. Anything is possible in that border. But if you feel like going, please go ahead but be safe.

The tour guide arrived on time & we left hotel at 7:30am. It was a long journey from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai. Along the trip, we stopped by hot springs to have little breakfast & take a few photos. Nothing special here, it merely just a stopping hub for a quick meal or toilet (chargeable), and of course the hot springs. It took us 1 hour 30 minutes from the hotel (town) to this hub and then we had 30 minutes to loosen up our body before we continue our ride to Chiang Rai. I have put photos & video together for keeping my post tidy & short. Afraid you might skip the reading if the post is too long. LOL. Click on the video below to see how's the place look like, so you have an idea if you going from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai & stop by this hot springs.

Then another 1 hour drive from hot springs stop to White Temple in Chiang Rai. Yeah, we reached White Temple at around 10.30am. Three hours since we left hotel early in the morning. We spent about 2 hours 30 minutes, from seeing White Temple & lunch to Black Temple in nearby area. Unfortunately, the White Temple was not open to public to go inside that day. They said it was under renovation. So we could only admire its beautifully crafted architecture from the outside. Pictures shown below is White Temple:

Traveling to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh) City | DJI Osmo Mobile

Before the Saigon trip, I was eagerly to get DJI Osmo Mobile so that I can shoot video clips for the trip. Hallelujah! The package delivered to me just in time & I love Osmo Mobile! For your information, DJI Osmo Mobile arrived in Malaysia store somewhere in October 2016. I guess it is getting more popular among Malaysian youngsters by now.

I did not practice much with it before the trip, but the video clips turned out great. Highly recommend DJI Osmo Mobile for those would want to use their mobile phone as camera & want a steady shooting for the mobile video.

Here's the official website : http://www.dji.com/ but I got it from http://www.march.my/ (Malaysia online store selling DJI products). You can also get it from tech stores in Kuala Lumpur. I've found it in Pavilion (camera shop) and Midvalley. Do compare the price if you want cheaper.

- Downtown : War Museum & site, Notre-Dame Basilica, City Post Office, City Hall & The Rex Hotel area.

- Mekong river, floating fruit market in boat, walking on an island to visit fruit orchards, learning local people make rice paper and crispy rice cake then sampan through small canals by rowing boats before having lunch recommended on an island.

I don't really celebrate my birthday with friends & family, but this year is a bit different.

Booked a suite in St. Regis Hotel KL for 2 nights. Mom & sis came to have meal with me for my birthday. On the same day, invited friends to our 1400sqft suite for a gathering.

People might think I'm spending money like water, but to be honest, someone arranged for it as usual. Thanks love. Rather to spend the money to go oversea with exhausting journey, why not pick a hotel to stay for few nights & have a little friends & family gathering. Haha.

I wanna say thank you my love for allowing me to indulge myself in such luxurious way.
Special thanks to my mom & sis who came all the way just to have a lunch with me. Sorry got you guys lost in KL Sentral, Waze sometimes is misleading.
Thank you all my friends for coming. It's short hours but hey parking in hotel is expensive! Kekeke!

The famous street art in Penang 'Little Children on a bicycle" and "Reaching Up" by Ernest Zacharevic has been found in Guangzhou, China.

Two days ago, my friend from Guangzhou wechat me one photo of him with "Little Children on a bicycle". So I thought he must be in Penang for vacation. After seeing the picture in closer look, I found out something different from the one in Penang. The wall. In the end, my friend told me it was taken in Guangzhou, which means there are a few street art done by Ernest Zacharevic replicated in China.

Shouldn't be surprised because we all know China has good copycat skill. Still, I was shocked. Here's the photo from my friend & the one I took when I was in Penang few months back : Little Children on a Bicycle.

For "Reaching Up", there are two kids in the pic of Guangzhou version & I cropped the large pics & used collage view to compare two street art. I did not take Reaching Up mural in Penang, therefore I found the pic from penang-traveltips.com

Potential buyer came to view the car. TWO potential buyers view my car at the same time. For safety purpose, I meet them in my condo's visitor bay.
One viewer really interested in my car and even test drive it. Immediately he agrees with the offer price. But another young viewer just see thru the car & within 5 min left.
Done some research on how to deal with selling of owned car to direct buyer. Here's the link which is very helpful to anyone. At least to know what's the basic steps/procedures of selling used car. Links :

One of the potential buyer brings his friend & mechanic friend to view my car again (examine & negotiate for lower price, which I know they are joking & I can't offer lower price anyway).
Buyer pays RM 500 for refundable deposit. Also sign deposit receipt as proof, for both party's protection.
Give copies of my IC, License & car registration card (the only copy I have during purchase of the car) to buyer, for him/her to apply for the bank loan, only if buyer is getting hire purchase loan from bank. In case of cash buyer, no need this step.

21 Dec 2015 - Get car registration card from bank. Call the hire purchase loan bank to ask which branch holds the card, to avoid trouble visiting wrong branch of bank.

Finally buyer's bank loan is approved. Waited so long due to the long holiday break. It is advisable to use same bank as seller's car if buyer wanna get hire purchase loan, easier the process.
Now I can plan for the runner to do puspakom inspection. Meanwhile buyer is arranging for Friday (8/1/2016) to sign Letter of Undertaking (LOU) at the bank side.

Words from my agent for the puspakom inspection process :

Make sure the car tyres are in good condition. (If not, bring it to workshop and change the tyre.)
Make sure the car exterior no rusty part. (If there is, must bring it to workshop paint it first)
Make sure your windscreen tint removed.

8 Jan 2016 - Sign LOU at the bank, together with buyer. Apparently Maybank just let buyer sign all docs including loan agreement first, even before puspakom inspection. Just that after puspakom inspection is done, make sure pass the B5 & B7 report to the bank. For seller in this case, just bring along IC & maybe car certification card (just in case any incorrect info keyed in by bank side & they need a copy of your car certification card again for amendment).

Car Service in the morning. Done car wash & polishing also.
Pass my car to agent so that the next day his runner will take it to puspakom for inspection. Actually this step is unnecessary for most people. You as seller, can just call puspakom for appointment date and drive your car in for inspection. Just tell them you need to do B5 and B7 inspection for your car. I can't tell you why I need to do this, hehe. However, if you hate the trouble of taking an half / day off, then ask for a runner to do it for you. B5 cost only RM 30.00 & B7 is RM 60.00, by this date of writing.

12 Jan 2016 - Puspakom inspection day. Got the report & car back around 2pm. Here's the reports look like:

13 Jan 2016 - Went to JPJ Mini UTC Sentul to cancel roadtax. Apparently the officer told me I can't cancel it unless I finished the loan. So I told him back that I just want to cancel roadtax first then only I can cancel my insurance & will do transfer name with buyer in last step. He insisted that I can't do that and want me to speak in Malay with him. I was shocked that the fact I was not allowed to cancel roadtax, which I read from the result of google search engine that most bloggers mentioned about step of canceling roadtax shall be done before transfer of ownership. The steps were like this: Seller cancel roadtax & then cancel insurance, (Seller has to cancel insurance in order for new buyer to purchase new insurance for the car.) next is buyer (bank) can process new insurance for the car & then process transfer of ownership in JPJ. Maybe my case is different where I still have loan balance to settle & buyer is also getting loan for the car. So I called to JPJ Setapak to clarify and their attitude was so bad and insist talking to me in Malay as well. The staff told me the same as the officer in UTC Sentul. In the end, I gave up. Walking back home under the hot sun as I walked there earlier)

14 Jan 2016 - I went to Bank with buyer to pass them all docs like B5, B7 and car registration card. But the JPJ forms that I signed with bank did not have roadtax termination form. So I wonder can JPJ process transfer of ownership without the seller cancelling the roadtax? If can, then I will be delighted. Bank officer just keep saying "Its up to you and buyer" which I don't know what it means. So we will see what happens next Tuesday in JPJ with buyer to do transfer of ownership together with bank's runner. For now, I just assumed that I dont have to cancel roadtax (after all it is due in March 2016) & insurance, and bank can proceed with the loan settlement & everything else. After the bank visit, I met with my Honda agent in my place and he said he will do insurance termination for my old car and transfer NCD to new car. Signed some docs and paid full cash for the new car. Yes, I'm not getting a damn loan for car anymore, so next time I want to sell it would be much easier process.

18 Jan 2016 - 9am reached JPJ Setapak with my car. Everything is so easy with all docs in Runner's hand & we just be there for the thumb-scan. After everything is done, I passed all necessary things to buyer and drove me back home. For the first time I was in passenger seat in my beloved car. It's weird feeling, knowing that I no longer the owner of the car. The saddest thing is I didn't even selfie with the car in this particular day for the last time! Luckily I still keeping photos which the first day it was delivered to me :) #throwback

19 Jan 2016 - Maybank reimbursed the balance to my account with 1 day float. Fine with me :) So everything considered done. And I am going to collect my new car tomorrow :)

This post is purely my own experience of selling my own car (still within loan period) to direct buyer (buyer getting the loan) just by posting advertisement in mudah.my as well as carlist.my.

Hope it helps you if you are planning to sell your existing car to direct buyer. Thank God, it took only about 1 month to settle all. It could have been shorter but there were Christmas & New Year holidays in between. Good luck to you :)

Reveal of lazybun's Unit (Before & After)

Previously I published a post of > renovation progress < in The Capers by YTL page. Always wanted to do before & after showcase, so I took bare unit photos. Now finally I can do it. Not really good at words on this, but everything I say come from my heart true feeling.
Good & Bad, I will shout it out loud. Please pardon me...

Well, just for the info, we do not have major renovation. In fact, not even major wall hacking or extra/moving power outlets.
YTL have done pretty bad workmanship for this Capers, so we were very careful on things to modify. If unnecessary, we would just avoid doing it.

Here I show photos of unit before and after renovation. I don't have proper camera, so every pictures are taken with my phone camera. And I'm sorry for the amateur photography.

Dry Kitchen (before) : I know. Where's the wet kitchen then, you'll ask. Well, malas to explain. Ask YTL's Capers unit layout design team.

Dry kitchen (after) : The design is based on default layout. YTL had done the water outlet, drainage & a power outlet as well on the floor (In terms of common sense & practicality, please enlighten me about power outlet next to drainage practice..anyone? HAHAHA). Anyway, so we do not want to do any hacking on the marble because of the uneven-color of the compressed marble from new ordering & only-God-knows when the new order will be available. Therefore, Bofi drafted the dry kitchen layout for us. The fridge should be in the oven's position originally. Due to incorrect measurement of compartment modules, and also it is wisely to put the fridge as above position to smoothen the work schedule & our very own convenience :)

Lounge (before) : This photo is the closest I could find in my album, to compare the next one.

Lounge (after) : Everything is complete. No more buying for this lounge! Can't fit in any more designer piece though. [pic 29/12/2015]

Lounge (after) : Update. Removed the plant. Replaced the blue-top coffee table with Urban Edge's. [pic 12/3/2016]

Lounge II (before) : The wall has a door-size manhole used by workers to move things between two units (next unit). Some crack lines I can see on the wall & most owners know about this. Not a big deal in property construction I guess.

Lounge II (after) : Shelves on the wall & a mini work station.

Lounge III (before) : It was supposed to have a partition for the entrance walkway all the way to the tempered full-glass wall, instead Developer removed it & give us this granite stone wall. I find it unnecessary and need to take real good care for it. If you put one stain on the wall, don't think you can clean the shxt. lol

Lounge III (after) : This photo taken just now before writing this paragraph during noon time. The purpose is to mapping my bare unit photos. Pardon me for the etiolated plants and the table lamp. Table lamp is not supposed to be there, but it is such a beautiful piece we bought 6 years ago. Temporarily placed it there for display visual. lol.

Wet Kitchen (before) : It is so dark and I do not understand why given such tiles for the wet kitchen by Developer. There's supposed to be a partition sliding door (stated in SPA) just before that door-to-maid's room. I guess Developer cancelled it after reconsideration of the area being too narrow for wet kitchen. Can we get compensation on this ? Because it is stated in SPA though.

Wet Kitchen (after) : The lighting color isn't the same as shown in the pic. Its more to warm-white light. I modified the color to make it brighter in this pic. Now if you notice the dryer & washer are at the corner, that area supposed to be the yard stated in SPA.

Bupsi has the least vote so obviously she can't sing for survival & leave the competition immediately. Next is Sing Off between Alien & Kiera.

Despite sad to see Alien leaving the show so quickly but I believe they gonna be stronger in future and have a great career as a group. Thank you so much Alien Uncovered, for bringing me excitement and fun in X Factor show. Hope to hear from you girls soon. On the other hand, Kiera is safe for another week.

Kiera Weathers takes on Katy B's Crying For No Reason. Now here, most of people leaving comment on the youtube like: Chloe Paige nailed this song in her audition. (You know what, I agree on that. Kiera's performance in first Live Show is a bit disappointing, but I believe she will stay for a while.)

His eyes are crazy, Anton Stephans! He sings Dance with My Father by Luther Vandross.

Che Chesterman nailed it! Ain't No Mountain High Enough by Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell.

He didn't drop the mic this time. He was so humble and singing Sorry by Justin Bieber. Trying to speak through the song I guess. Good luck.

Performers happy goer Reggie N Bollie style! Shaggy - It Wasn't Me. Seriously, it was really entertaining. Watch it out.

She doesn't need an introduction, Louisa Johnson! My top 3 finalist of X Factor this year! God Only Knows by The Beach Boys.

Bupsi wasn't doing nasty tonight! I hope she won't be out after first Live Show...You're Wonderful One by Marvin Gaye.

4th Impact has the highest view amongst other Live Show contestants. They had problems practising other choices of song...so in the end, Problem by Arianna Grande.

Monica Michael was the wild card this year in X Factor UK. They bought her back for girls category, joining Louisa, Kiera & Lauren.

Last performance owned by very individuality person, Sean Miley Moore. To me personally, he shouldn't do it so theatrical way. His voice is gifted!

Who's gonna voted out first for this Live Show round 1? Bupsi? Kiera? Sean? My picks for the bottom 3 are Bupsi, Kiera and Sean, yes. Let's wait and see. I will update here after result show.

Chloe Baker - It wasn't good but she got the seat though.

Monica Michael - It felt like she did her best trying to get the seat because she lost it last year in X Factor UK (2014) 6 chair challenge

Sharon Rose - I just couldn't remember her. No wonder she didn't make it in the end.

Chloe Paige - Simon loves her. I love her. She got the whole package.

Louisa Johnson - I think itv purposely put her in this position where someone from the seat is definitely, definitely going to lose the chair and hand it to Louisa Johnson! INSANE vocalist! And to be honest, I bet she will be in the top 3 finalist of X Factor UK 2015!

Havva Rebke - She is the only unique style from the rest of girls category. You will be surprised in the end.

Kiera Weathers - Love her for her HAIR. Love her for her story in the song.

Kelly Mai - I seriously had no idea what have she just done! Just listen...! It's like she giving it up?

Lucy Duffield - I love her but I can't see her in final 6...cos X Factor is also about the whole package.

Sophie Plumb - Out of luck ~

Driving out from Publika about a week ago and saw the white outdoor set up in the front row shop-lot.

Looking up is the huge restaurant named Ratatouille!

I always love Ratatouille movie and have been watching it from time to time.

So first impression by the name Ratatouille, we decided must give it a try.

We went there for lunch set.

Nowadays every restaurant has lunch set, don't they?

Love the outdoor set up but a bit disappointed with the interior layout.

Here's the lunch set.

Like I always do, order the safest & common food for first visit.

So my choice was from lunch set : Rosemary Chicken @ RM 25.90 nett inclusive of a drink (Ice Lemon Tea, Tea or Coffee)

Lunch Set : Rosemary Chicken RM 25.90 nett, inclusive of one drink.

Looks nothing special. The chicken meat was not hot enough & a bit over roasted.

According to their website that Chef Brian use freshest product for the quality & provenance, which personally I think fail in my first visit.

The chicken meat tasted hard & seemed like freezing for a long time.

Then they took out and defrost it and heat it up?

If fail in my first visit, the loyalty drops 50%. I might come for 2nd visit, but that would totally depending on my mood.

Just my personal view.

Food is very subjective though!

Lunch Set : Grilled Chicken Thigh with mushroom truffle sauce RM 15.90 nett, inclusive of one drink.

Anything suspicious with the dish name & pic above?

Not really sure if they've done it wrong or that chicken thigh was actually grilled?

It looks deep fried chicken thigh to me, though.

We've asked when both came to our table and the lady assured it that mine was Rosemary Chicken.

That means the another one was definitely Grilled Chicken Thigh.

Overall experience was a bit disappointing but its alright. I might go back for 2nd time and try other dishes.

If they don't improve still during my 2nd visit, then good luck to you all.

Food is very subjective.

There is one private room caters for 8 person, one big TV on the wall and smoking in this room is allowed.

Guess you can organise a business meeting here.

You won't call a restaurant as European restaurant without providing variety of wine list.

Hope it suits your taste.

I took a picture of the washroom, simply because of the door sign.

One thing I had in my mind was, the washroom's done up made me feels better (compare to interior layout of the restaurant.)

P/S : The restaurant do not know I'm a blogger. My visit is purely on my will & cost. Therefore, my personal comment are genuine & subjective, based on my tongue.

It was boring in the beginning where few of the contestant just didn't sing well & resulted no seat taken yet.

Ⓒ ITV - Tom Bleasby

Then Tom Bleasby came up on stage & broke the silent. He sang 'I Look To You'. Personally myself thought, it wasn't a good audition despite interesting voice. But Nick Grimshaw gotta put someone in the seat! Tom was good enough to put through, I guess.

However, Tom was swapped away with Ben Clark later & again brought him back by swapping with Nathanael.

Pheww! That was intense!

Lastly, breaking news from ITV official website that Tom Bleasby has decided to LEAVE the competition after everything he just went through.

Next successful contestant who kept the seat was Simon Lynch, 23 years old.

He took risk by singing "Hold Your Hand" by Jess Glynne & it paid off!

Simon Cowell loved him so much and said "..if you dont get a seat, I'll eat myself."

My bet on him personally that he will progress into Judge's house for live show.

Cute good looking & talented guy. One of the best in Boys category.

Ⓒ ITV - Seann Miley Moore

Seann got the Judges' standing ovation after singing "I Who Have Nothing".

Just like Cheryl, I too was expecting his appearance on stage & wondering what he was going to perform.

He may feel very comfortable being himself but somewhat I would love to see him in just a t-shirt & long pant, without the 7inches high heel shoes.

Nonetheless, you're amazing Seann! I will support you til the end.

Ⓒ ITV - Josh Daniel - sings "Clown" by Emelli Sande

I had to agree with Simon Cowell saying that Josh Daniel's performance in 6 chair challenge wasn't as good as the first audition. But Josh is likeable & his singing touches my heart.

Josh said he was nervous. I think it was probably because of Mason Noise's a**hole act just before him.

Nothing to mention about Mason Noise (just another arrogant jerk that didn't appreciate the chance)

Definitely one to look after in Boys category.

Ⓒ ITV - Ben Clark

Ben's husky voice is one of the kind in this competition and I can't even think if he couldn't get the seat.

But is it good enough to be champion? I mean, this year's competition is so high standard. Take Girls and Groups as example. Louisa Johnson, 4th Power, Alien; these 3 are hard to beat!

Why am I comparing them right now? Silly me.

Ben, you always have my vote!

Ⓒ ITV - Che Chesterman

Che Chesterman is considerably the best in Boys category that can compete with the rest of category. I mean his vocal & high note. He might get little nervous at the beginning probably because of the 6 seats were taken & he needed to perform brilliantly in order to swap with someone's seat!

As expected, "It's A Man's World" took my breath away! I was cheering for him during watching the youtube clip!

No doubt at all, Nick got the seat for Che by swapping with Ollie Marland.

Sorry Ollie, you're good looking young guy who has full in package. But don't worry! I hope Nick will get you back because Tom Bleasby's decision to leave the competition. According to sequence, you're the last to go, so you'll be the first to save! **Finger crossed**

WOW! Amazing vocal!

Excitingly, I want to see Che Chesterman against Louisa Johnson in the battle! It would be the highlight of X Factor UK in 2015!

Let's see what Overs category can offer next weekend, in order for me to give my opinion on which category has the strongest contestant in this year X Factor UK!

Mariner of the Seas : Full Day Cruising 2 (11 & 12/6/2013)

Mariner of the Seas has many activities arranged for the guests and we found ourself rather doing nothing. We don't climb, ski or golf. So basically we were just walking around the giant ship and relax-bored-to-death kind of feeling.

Honestly I did not explore every corner on Mariner of the Seas, hence looking forward to go onboard again soon. Eating, drinking, sun tanning and sleeping were the only things I've done on the ship; while always patiently waiting for next shore excursion.

Johnny Rockets At Sea. The cover charge was just USD 5 per person, eat all you can; unfortunately drink was not included in the cover charge.

Totally worth the value. You can't get a burger like this in any Johnny Rockets in Malaysia. When I was having this at sea, Malaysia didn't have Johnny Rockets yet. So if you ask me how's it in Malaysia? Seriously bad in portion & quality. Price in Malaysia is ridiculous!

Next stop would be Hong Kong on 12th June in the evening. No itinerary was prepared for HK excursion, so we were just get off from the ship and took a Hop-On-Hop-Off bus for visiting The Peak Tram. What could I say. We were not adventurous & I was afraid of too much time waiting for HOHO bus especially during peak hours in the city.

Daily schedule compass would be delivered to your room every evening & I was impressed with their creativity. They making animal with towel.

Been 36 hours on sailing since leaving MBCCS, finally Mariner of the Seas has arrived in Phu My Vietnam around 7am on 3rd day. We got up early to avoid the crowds and met up with the group members. They were under the same group arranged by Holiday Tours, mostly were from Malaysia as well.

Basically the day tour itinerary was about Vung Tau city, due to Ho Chi Minh city was far away & we wanted to get back to the ship on time, so the schedule changed to only visit Vung Tau. This excursion tour was USD75 per person by Holiday Tours (NOT shore excursion from Royal Caribbean). Price might be different now, depending on your country currency & offer by your company tour. Itinerary as followed:

1. Departed from pier at 9am to Christ of Vung Tau, which took 50minutes drive.

2. Spent about 1 hour of climbing up & down the Christ Hill.

3. At 11am leaving from Christ Hill to Summer Palace of Emperor Bao Dai. It took 25 minutes drive and another 15 minutes for visiting the museum. That's pretty fast & furious! Haha.

4. After museum, it was another 5-10 minutes drive away to see Guan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy in Thuy Van beach. The Guan Yin statue is about 300-foot high and absolutely stunning to look at it.

5. By 12:30pm we drove to have lunch in a local restaurant named Quán Tre. I had my birthday celebration there with the group.

6. Back to pier after lunch. It was around 3:10pm when we reached at pier because need to get on ship by 4pm.

It was around 9am when this photo was taken. That's our tour bus for Vung Tao.

Look at that! Jesus Christ on the top of hill. Couldn't go so far to see the one in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; but grateful that I saw one nearest to my home.

Found this very interesting but I had no clue what was it. It was attached to the window. Maybe it was a window opener.

You can purchase birds and then release them. I was puzzled, wondering why pay to release the captive birds. I know the purpose of freeing captive living is to generate good karma, but why these living things like birds were being captured at the first place? Well, just pay and release them, so you get good karma. Just do it!

After back from Vung Tau tour, just perfect time for a cup of coffee. Bear in mind, below coffee bar is not providing free beverages. If you want a decent coffee, you'll have to pay for it. Just give them your cruise card & they will charge the bill to your room. No cash term in Mariner of the Seas :)

Malayan Aromas Cafe @ Plaza Riverwalk

This is another late post of mine, about this local cuisine cafe which was opened more than 6 months ago in Plaza Riverwalk, Malayan Aromas Cafe.

Just in case if you don't know Plaza Riverwalk, it is located in Rivercity, Off Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah (Jalan Ipoh, opposite the popular Jalan Ipoh Dim Sum). If you know about Aeon BiG supermarket, then you will know Plaza Riverwalk. Malayan Aromas Cafe is just one floor above Aeon BiG. It is owned by a nice Chinese lady who is there most of the time, and it serves local cuisine like Nasi Lemak, Hainanese Chicken Rice, Curry Chicken, Fried Kuey Tiao, Prawn Mee and so on.

We go there quite often like few times a week ever since their opening. Such a convenient for nearby residents and the food price is reasonable. Obviously it is another option for people like me who is not really keen to take the trouble driving far just for a simple meal. You know how bad road traffic is in Klang Valley, especially peak hours.

I've tried almost everything but I don't have the photos here to share with you cos I already posted in my FB. However, from today onwards I will edit this post by uploading new food photo every time I go there, alright?

Not really sure if the lady boss has already done some social media post or ask flavour from famous food blogger, but I just wanna do her a good cause. I do not interview nor have a long chat with her but sometimes we don't have to know their background in order to taste their food, to judge whether is it good or bad. For me, I will write if the food is good AND bad. Well, not just the food, I judge them also based on quality of service & location. Well, I like to stick to one area rather than going anywhere for food & trying to get high web traffic if you know what I mean.

Here's few photos which I had lunch there today. I was craving curry chicken this morning and luckily today's lunch set in Aromas was Dried Curry Chicken Rice (and Curry Laksa). The lunch set was so value for money. Great portion and enough to fulfil my hungry lust.

My favourite warm Barley drink. You can add syrup to make it suits your taste.

I got one small drumstick, half thigh & half breast meat. Great & thick aroma curry sauce. Yummy.

Sambal Prawns, it also in lunch set but not sure which weekday :)

It was 5 sizeable prawns, comes with lady's fingers.

For past 2 months Aromas has this porridge buffet eat all you can for lunch hour until 4-5pm if not mistaken. The price is around RM 18 per person. I had tried it, worth the value, I mean it completely driven me back to my childhood memory where I came from and a simple meal like porridge comes salted egg & pickled lettuce, was just fulfilling for kampong people. Gosh, it was totally a #throwback memory!

I loved the top center snack when I was little kid.

Eat all you can.

I have a few picks in Aromas as my favourites, and one of them is Hainanese Chicken Rice. Sorry for half-way-eating-it photo. Love the tender steamed chicken meat and the chilli sauce is one to die for! Also available in weekday lunch set.

Mariner of the Seas : Full Cruising Day in South China Sea (9 June 2013)

Let me recap what I did after the ship leaving MBCCS. Basically it was dinner and being blown away for what I'd never thought it was possible until I witnessed with my own eyes. I am so sorry for the lousy photos I show here, I don't have a standard or professional digital camera though.

1st dinner night in Mariner of the Seas.

7:30PM Big Screen Movie : Guilt Trip on Pool Deck.

Okay, what happened on the 1st full day of cruising was just doing nothing much but relax. Eat drink and cruise. Hahaha. Of course there were scheduled activities, you could participate if you want. Sports activities like Ice Skating, Golf, Volleyball and Table-tennis competition; some were purely relaxing leisure like watching movie in the cinema room, enjoying music & view near the swimming pool, or attending skin care & champagne seminars. Oh yeah, not to mention the casino was almost 24 hours operation, I think :) Here's the daily schedule prepared for the guests.

Thanks to this printed timetable, it is so useful for reminding me what have I been doing the whole day, even until today :) - To enlarge, click on photo.

The Savoy Theatre in Mariner of the Seas. Stunning isn't it? We were here after breakfast to attend 0930 short briefing about Vietnam & Hong Kong. Next stop will be Vietnam. Luckily the excursion tour is included in Holiday Tours package.

I lost my phone in this theatre during a 3D movie. I went crazy realising I was going to lose all photos, after few days of the cruise journey. Thank God one of the staff returned it to me during cleaning after movie, after I'd lost myself for 15 minutes I think.

Some people were actually running on this track every morning. I would suggest to do running on the treadmill in the gym room though. YES, there is a huge gym room on the head of the ship. Later will show the pic.

A day without Internet! YES, there was no free Internet wifi except Internet Room where you have pay for it. I remembered I paid for few minute Internet connection trying to contact my friend in HK and it wasn't cheap. Few dollars per minute I recalled.

4pm Movie time. It was Pitch Perfect. Not really excellent cos we sat far corner in the room. Back to room and get change after the movie. That night was proper dinner at The Sound of Music on Deck 5.

There it goes, one full day of cruising in South China Sea. Actually it was boring to me on the full day cruising. I guessed the main reason was I never joined cruise tour before. Today, I feel like going back on cruise though :) Alright, next post will be talking about Vietnam excursion tour (3rd day).
