Spending some days in Nagano

2012-06-09T07:59:00.000+09:00

These are the photos of spending some days in Nagano (where Hal was born).

We enjoyed the freshening breeze, smell of green in the mountain side.

These are the digital sketches of HAL by one guy.

Love them both!

Full bloom

2012-04-20T18:58:00.000+09:00

We love cherry blossoms.

These are the photos taken in Kasama Geijutunomori Park on last Sunday.

It was perfect!

Thank you!

Full of spring

2012-04-11T14:39:00.000+09:00

Just for a week we enjoyed its beginning and its ending.

"Sakura" meaning cherry blossoms, we all Japanese love it.

These are the shots taken in my neighborhood park.

Kasama Geijutunomori Park

These are the photos when we went to Kasama Geijutsunomori Park on last Sunday.

We enjoyed walking in the winter park.

Sleep in the Futon.

Have a good sleep, Hal!

Yushima Tenmangu and Ueno Park

2012-03-10T14:02:00.000+09:00

Hi, we visited Yushima Tenmangu on last Sunday.

It was 30 minutes drive from our home.

If you are interested in its history or anything, please check the site here.

It was a good day.

This is how a long body dog sits on the stairs.

A lot of people gathered for the early spring plum festival.

Basset hounds are not popular in Japan and many people were coming to ask me what its breed is.

This is a coffee stand nearby.

Traditional Japanese style.

We can find many old houses here.

Then we went to the Shinobazuno Pond in Ueno Park.

We expect cherry blossoms to be in full bloom in late this month.

We enjoyed walking around the park and went home.

Oh, he seemed very tired and fell down to sleep so soundly.

His biggest fan

2012-03-02T16:17:00.000+09:00

Duskin sales lady came my home and happened to be welcomed by the unexpected fellow.

Imagine how she was surprised and how she was more delighted.

She said "It's been cold raining since this morning, so I'm getting tired of my work today but now I'm feeling happy. I'm so glad to see such a wonderful guy!"

Hey, Hal! Smile!!

You are losing your biggest fan.

Things are not what you think are.

2012-02-28T13:36:00.001+09:00

This morning at the breakfast.

I was just looking back by chance.

And saw Hal was looking so attached to me.

"What a lovely boy! You are looking at me so dearly!"

"I don't think I was..."

"I was just...

still sleepy. That is."

Just two of us in the park.

2012-02-24T18:15:00.001+09:00

Blue sky, sunny, not windy, not cold.

But nobody in the park!

Oh, found someone there.

That is...Hal, hehehe

He enjoyed walking around.

"Don't go too far! Come!"

He was coming very reluctantly.

"Let's have a lunch! Oh, that is not yours, Hal."

"I KNOW."

You are a very proud man, hahaha.

[TVCM]MINI CROSSOVER. MINI DAY2012

2012-02-11T09:45:00.000+09:00

This basset's name is Picaso and he is Hal's uncle. How cute!!!

Went to the beach.

2012-02-07T20:30:00.000+09:00

We went to the park near the beach on last Sunday.

Do you remember the day you come here last time?

"Yeah...I think so."

Anyway, let's go to the beach.

What a sunny day today!

Hey look! The sea!

We went down on the rocks.

Oh Hal, are you scared?

I can't see your tail...hahaha

"I don't like being here..."

Now you are OK here?

We enjoyed the winter sun and sea wind!!

Mom always cares about her son...

2012-01-26T21:23:00.000+09:00

What are you looking, Hal?

Nothing...

What are you thinking, Hal?

Oh, you sleep.

Oh, you don't sleep now.

Please leave me alone, mom.

Sorry but I'm always thinking of youuuu.

Hal's tour in snow

2012-01-24T12:11:00.000+09:00

We had snow last night.

Not so much, but in Tokyo this is not usual.

Hey, Hal!

Don't be so lazy.

Let's go out and play with snow!

Do I have to go?

Come on, Hal!

Don't look away, come on!

You are too hesitant, Hal!

OK, I got it, mom...

Oh, it's too cold...

Let's finish my tour.

This is the best place for me!

Hal, I believe every dog likes the snow and play with it but you don't.

Then I give you the nice present!

How is it?

He doesn't seem to like it...

I'm bored!

2012-01-21T21:08:00.000+09:00

It's been raining all day today.

It will be fine tomorrow!

Winter Collection

2011-12-22T18:44:00.000+09:00

Hi!

I'm going to show you my winter wardrobe.

This is Burberry like coat.

Do I look great?

Mom says she wants to have a cap matching this coat.

Next one is red tartan plaid coat.

How about this?

Anyway...may I take my coat off now?

Oh, bad thing is he doesn't like the clothes...

Life with no stress

2011-12-15T19:49:00.000+09:00

"Hi, Hal!

You enjoy the sunlight?"

"Yeah..."

A short time later, I went to see him again.

He was still in his bed and dozing off...

I called him and he looked at me with his eyes slightly open finding it annoying...

Let's zoom out.

Oh my god...

You really have no stress, Hal...

"Something wrong with me, Mom?"

"Nothing..."

Autumn portrait

2011-11-30T20:37:00.001+09:00

Here are the collections of good pictures of Hal in the autumn park.

yellow,yellow,yellow!

2011-11-26T09:15:00.001+09:00

We went to Showa-memorial park the other day.

Gingko trees are in full autumn color now.

Yellow carpet.

with my mom...

with my dad...

Actually my dad is not a bit good at dogs...

But he is OK with Hal, hahaha...

I tried to shoot the best shot on that day...

but...

output was not good...I'm sorry.

Woops! What are you grinning at?

We were asked by many people "What is this breed?"

Basset hounds are not popular in Japan.

So I always have to teach them when I met people in the park with Hal.

My mom and dad have cameras each, so I got many pictures with Hal!

We enjoyed yellow autumn color very much!

Warm autumn day

2011-11-23T17:32:00.001+09:00

I went for a walk in the neighboring parks to enjoy the changing colors of autumn leaves.

Are you OK, Hal?

Aye-aye, sir.

He seemed to be in a good condition after some daily workout.

I like lemon color basset hound.

Because it looks gentle and...

like this warm and a bit sad expression.

It was a pleasant late fall afternoon in the park.

I think the basset hounds look nice in the leaves.

Don't you think so?

I told him to "Wait" while taking pictures of him.

Good boy!

It is still three oclock in the afternoon but getting dark.

Let's go back to home, Hal.

We enjoyed walking very much.

Halloween party

2011-11-17T15:10:00.001+09:00

I have to catch up with the events I had in these months.

We had Halloween Party with dogs in late October.

This woman transforming into Witch is Hal's breeder "Tako-san".

This golden boy is "Gucchan".

The witch is busy...

The witch says "too hot!" and removed her hat with hairs.

Everyone said "you look great with that hat and hairs" so she put on it again but this time she took her black cape off. hahaha

She said "I don't like this style because it is too hot for me. I will try bunny girl style next year."

That is more terrible thing than a witch....(don't tell this to her, please)

Funny looking behind is Hal and his girl friend Happy, toy poodle.

How gorgeous she is!

Big boy is Joy and small puppy is Rondo. So cute.

Rondo has just started to live with Joy and they are getting on great.

This is Hal.

His costume is Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland.

I love this costume.

He looks great with this hat.

They are Hank and Tasha.

Their costumes are also from Alice in Wonderland.

I bought these costumes for Hal but gave them to Hank and Tasha.

They look great!

Hank wears the Cheshire Cat and Tasha wears Alice dress.

Oh, Hal, you always look sleepy...

I wear an apron in Alice in Wonderland pattern.

Actually we Japanese are not so familiar with Halloween itself but just enjoy. That is.

Rock-paper-scissors games.

Eating...

Athletic games...

"Stay!" games...

Speed-eating games...

That was a lot of fun with a lot of people and with a lot of dogs.

I want to have this party again next year.

What costumes do I and Hal wear next time?

October event

2011-11-12T11:00:00.001+09:00

It's been a long time since I posted last time.

Just because of my negligence. I'm really a LAZY MOM...

Actually I had a big event in October.

I went to Kentucky in US to visit basset hounds dog show "Nationals"

And there, I met Cat and her mother.

We've known each other through our basset blogs on the internet.

How the world is so small and so full of wonder that we can see in reality.

I still can't believe what happened but it was true.

Life is so interesting...

This is my friend "Mari" who was visiting there with me from Japan.

And the show results.

This dog "Tristan"(left) got the BOB.

He is from the Barnyard and Hal's grandfather came to Japan from the Barnyard more than ten years ago.

How lucky I was to be able to see on site they got BOB!

I was called "Lady Luck" by Hal's breeders who were also visiting there from Japan.

There are more than a lot of good things I want to tell you but everything is in my mind.

Just want to say "thank you" to Cat and her Mom.

I want to visit you again in the near future together with Hal!

good guard dog...?

2011-09-14T12:28:00.000+09:00

My dog is always watching people at the entrance of my house.

He is a good guard dog, indeed.

Look! Even when we keep the door open, we don't be afraid of any suspicious individuals come into my house.

Because you see, there is a perfect guard dog there... ...Oh, no!

OK, I know this is just a dumb joke...

Actually he doesn't seem to care whoever visit our house.

Far from a guard dog! (+_+)

"Hey, HAL!! Are you awake?"

"Yes, a bit..."

Maybe your basset hounds are just the same...

Good swimmer!

2011-09-12T20:29:00.000+09:00

He can now swim with no life-jacket.

Big paws are very good for swimming.

And he kicks very strongly.

And his tail is just like a helm.

I was so impressed to see those functions are all working!

How about his ears?

Maybe help him something else...

"Hey Hal! How do you feel?

Today is so hot, so you must feel wonderful."

What his answer?

It was "not so much..."

He tried to go out of the pool whenever he found a chance...(>_<)

"Don't you feel good?"

"Yeah...but I don't like doing what I feel tired..."

"Cheer up Hal! I will hug you."

Then he seemed to get motivated and began to swim again (^^)v

Oh, serious looking! So cute! hehehe

"Teacher, how about a cup of coffee after this?"

Missing dog tag

2011-09-08T16:06:00.000+09:00

I happen to find that there is no dog tag I just made for Hal a couple of months ago.

It was lost somewhere else...(;_;)

So I bought it again.

This is a new tag.

Isn't it lovely?

Reverse side.

Don't lose it again and keep your eyes on it, HAL!

(How on earth can I do that...)

I bought this dog tag at Etsy.

I love this site very much.
