  • I needed to update my theme anyhow since I’m back from my internship and it’s time to move on
  • The FAlbum plugin was broken and needed to be updated
  • I wasn’t happy about the plug-n-play google maps system, so I’ll look look for an alternative
  • And of course wordpress 2.2 is a major release :)

I don’t seem to be suffering from too much jetlag, so I’m still going out for some nice Belgian beer with my friends tonight :)
Now I have a lot of little and big practical things to do of course, so it might still take a little time before I’ll upload the last batch of Chinese pictures etc. but I’ll try to do it before I leave on my little skiing trip on the 10th of March.

First up was my first experience of Drum ‘n Bass in China with the famous DJ Makoto and MC Deeizm in the awesome BonBon club. Second, on new year’s eve, we went to the hippest place to be in Shanghai right now: the Attica club; right at the Bund and really expensive, but hey.. it was new year’s eve :)

HangZhou is, up till so far, the most relaxed place I’ve been in China; people stroll calmly across the streets and hawkers don’t shout at you and grab you. And to top it all of there is the famous West Lake (Xihu) with beautiful views and things to see all around it.

Both are sights in Shanghai, easily reachable by taxi.

The Yuyuan garden was quite beautiful despite the time of year thanks to it’s heavy use of decorative stones and evergreen. It almost felt like a garden in Suzhou, but this was in the middle of Shanghai! I’m definitely going to show this to my mother when she visits Shanghai at the end of the month.
