Julie who runs this site, asked me to write a little about my photos, and she created this nice post with a selection of my images. So there you can read a little about what I like so much about photography and what I enjoy taking pictures of.

Julie is also an amazing french photographer and I often go on her website to get inspiration. I especially love the unique way she photographs people.

Inspiration : Stars & Cars from the 50's

I thought I'd show you where I get some of my inspiration from and what type of photography that has influenced my own photography style.

As many photographers, I collect photobooks. And I'm very fond of each one of them. They're my babies and I display them on bookshelves, in the window and on tables in my apartment. I wanted to share with you one of my books, which contains all my favourite things: black&white photos, moviestars from the 50's, like Brigitte Bardot, Clark Gable, Audrey Hepburn and vintage cars ( it even has photos of my #1 dream car - the Ferrari 250gt Spider California). It's basicly a book with fabulous black and white photos of beautiful people, all taken on the French Riviera.

Edward Quinn is the amazing photographer who has taken all the photos in this book.
I have just photographed his images from the book I have. So I take no credit for the great photos, though I wish there was a way to recreate that lifestyle and the looks from that era!

(All photos are b&w in the book, the light in my apartment has created that sepia tone on some of the photos, which I kind of liked, so I left it like that.)

New York Belle

A few days before Christmas I was reunited with my dear friend Elle, who was visiting from New York. Here are a few snapshots from our coffee date. Elle works at Vogue, is a truly gifted writer and needless to say that her unique sense of style and her work ethic is a true inspiration for me. I hope to get the opportunity to go to and visit her sometime in the near future and explore and photograph the wonders of New York city. Here's a little sneakpeek at my newest project.

I've been invited by one of my favorite photographers and mentor to join a group of 14 photographers and each of us are going to create a photography book during a 6 month period. I will describe my theme later on and post more photos as my project evolves. But here are a few of the very first photos I've taken at my first location. (It involved a 4 hour busdrive each way and knocking on complete stranger's doors, but an extremely fun and exciting experience so far.)

The Places We Go

As you might have noticed, I love being out in nature taking pictures.

And I'm so lucky that my man has this amazing place we can escape to. It's deep into the woods, overlooking a magnificent lake and surrounded by mountains. We love going there for mini-breaks and it really is the ultimate spot to unwind and relax. It's so good to get away from the hustle of everyday life. For both of us it's the best way to cleanse our minds and just spend some quality time out in nature together. I always carry my camera with me, cause we see so many great things there, as well as in the car driving down.

Favorite man & the favorite car.

I've always had an obsession with vintage cars and last weekend, driving on the highway, I saw this amazing little beauty coming up on the side. I'm not sure which model this Ferrari is, but I'm very curious about finding out. So I've send a few pictures to other vintage car fans, to see if they recognise it. But if anyone out there knows which model this is, let me know :)

And how great would it be, to use it in a photoshoot?

Shooting Film

I've just started to experiment with film.

My dad gave my his old Canon camera a while back. And it's taken a while for me to get to know it. I'm slowly getting to understand it's ways, but it still feels like a stranger in my hands. The good thing is, that I put much thought in each photo and take my time composing the pictures.

I'm never sure of the results and what awaits me while developing a film roll, which is quite exciting. I've always had a soft spot for old photographs and I really like the vintage feel I get while using this camera.

This is how I entertain myself on a plane :)
I took these photos on my way home from holiday this summer. I think we were flying over Switzerland and that these mountaintops are parts of the Swiss Alps.

On another note, I feel that I've been slightly neglecting the blog lately, but I'm currently in the prosess of planning my own photo exhibition, which takes up most of my time and attention. But I'll try to be good and remember to post photos here on a more regular basis.

First destination - The Riviera

I realised I was finally on vacation as the turquoise sea and La Côte D'Azur appeared through the clouds:

These first days of our holiday, we stayed in the little hillside village called Roquebrune.

It's near the boarder to Italy and it takes only a short walk to get to Monaco. Our hotel had an amazing view of this bright turquoise sea and the many luxurious yachts floating nearby the ports of Monte Carlo. Just below our residence, was a calm, little beach where we treated ourself to some super comfortable sunbeds, and relaxed with a book and glass of rosé wine (which quickly turned into a bottle). And then we occasionally dived into the big waves of the Mediterranean sea to cool down in the heat. I would say, that chilling out, getting a tan and swimming were our main priorities to start with. But the next days to come, were spent exploring the beauty of the french coast and the charm of the countryside in Provence..

Le Portfolio

The past weeks I've been trying to put together an electronic portfolio. I'm such a perfectionist when it comes to chosing which photos represent me the best and putting them together in an order that makes sense, so it took a while. It's harder then one might think to figure out which photos go well next to eachother. So here's the final result for the moment.

In just two days, I'm off to the south of France for two weeks with my man! Olalala, can't wait to be at La Côte D'Azur again !

Speaking of the French Riviera, I've created a tumblr site, where I post all those inspirational and amazing photos I've discovered on great blogs and photography sites out there. The Mountain Top Project

Photo documentary: Mountain top # 3 - Gaustatoppen

I love being in the outdoors and taking pictures of all the fascinating places and nature I encounter. So recently, me and my boyfriend came up with an idea for a fun and challenging new project : to climb the highest mountain in each county here in Norway. Norway is divided in 19 counties, so this might take us some time :)
These photos are from the third mountain we've been to. We decided to drive there and spend the night in a tent at the bottom of the mountain, before conquering the great hights.
Unfortunately it started raining the moment we got in the car and it continued to rain for the rest of the weekend. That's the reason for the many grey and misty photos. Once we got the tent was up, I crawled into it, while K went looking for wood to make a fire. I have to mention that I have never been camping before, so this was a whole new experience for me. Surprisingly I've never slept as good as I did that night, although I'm positive I heard something moving in the grass outside the tent, before falling asleep! But it was so cozy to snuggle next to my favorite person, listen to the rain pattering on the tent and knowing that you were out in the middle of nature (and nowhere). The next day I woke up super early to an amazing view, it was still slightly raining and huge foggy clouds hovered over the mountain and lakes below us. While cooking our breakfast over the open fire, the fog came back and we were swept in a cloak of mist in just a matter of minutes. And this thick mist would stay with us for the rest of our trip.

Then it was time to start our climb. It was a tough climb, but a great workout and a good way to experience the challenges of climbing a mountain under rough weather conditions. It took about two hours to get to the top. The only thing that I missed was the wonderful view you're supposed to get when climbing up these hills. This mountain top in particular is known for its spectacular view, but beacause of the fog and bad weather we didn't get to see any of it. But we're planning to go back, only next time we'll make sure to pick a day the sun is shining.

Yesterday I met up with Malin to take a coffee and plan a photoshoot, since I've been wanting to take pictures of her for a while. Here are a few quick testshots I did at the coffee house. Hopefully we'll be taking more photos in a week. I'm so looking forward to having a real shoot with her. At the moment I'm very inspired by some old pictures of a very young Kate Moss. I'm thinking about maybe using them as inspiration and recreating a similar mood and energy in our pictures.

I had the honor to photograph my sisters wedding in Copenhagen recently.

Here's a small selection of the photos I took.

Those of you who know me, know that I have always been reluctant to photographing weddings, since I find most of the wedding photos out there extremely cliché and cheesy. Of course I did take some of the typical wedding photos, you can't get away without taking a few family portraits and photos of the happy couple kissing. But I tried to create my own personal touch using natural lighting and some of my other special little techniques.

I think it's important to always stay true to your style of photography regardless of the job your doing. Luckily my sister is also an artist at heart and pretty much let me do my own thing on their big day. Which I was very happy and thankful for.

In my next post, I will share with you, my own personal favorite photos from the wedding.

Peace Of Mind

The best way to clear the mind and to get that extra boost of energy. These photos were taken on a long bikeride, followed by climbing to the top of a mountain. Even though it was a challenging and hard workout, it also was extremely satisfying to push my comfort levels! I love getting out in the middle of nature, either on my own or with my boyfriend. And the camera always tags along of course! It's really a great way to regain focus on what's going on in your life and what you are trying to achieve.

"If you want more out of something the first step to getting it is to being thankful for what’s already there. When you fully appreciate, understand and exploit whats immediately available to you is when you’re ready for the next thing. Don’t worry about how, why or how long it will take – just get to it and everything will manifest itself in the process."

Encouraging and inspirational words written by the guy who runs my favorite music site: et musique pour tous. I think it's important to appreciate all the amazing people and things around us and use that energy to create your own work. Try to illiminate the people who bring negativity and limit you in any way. At least this is how I plan on keeping a positive state of mind and reach my goals. Be patient and great things will come your way! Well, enough rambling for now :)

That Look In Her Eyes

Part Two of our shoot.

As mentioned, I always have lots of fun shooting with Miriam. We always keep it pretty natural and I'm quite amused by the minimal use of make-up and how doing our own styling turns out successfully. Here I borrowed my boyfriend's apartment and improvised with tecniques like using different filters and the reflections from flowers, taking pictures through the veranda windows, and working with shadows created by sunlight.

By the way, I'm always interested in getting in touch with and working with other creative minds out there, especially stylists. So if this is something you're interested in, don't hesitate to send me an email.
