Where have I been?

Well, I decided to re-jigger my life. I'm taking a much-needed break after graduating with my BA in Illustration this past Spring.

I also moved! I was living in San Diego, CA and now I have moved up to the Pacific Northwest near Seattle, WA. I am LOVING it here! The weather has been beautiful, no rain, very temperate and comfortable and the scenery can't be beat either!

I just wanted to make this quick post and let you know that I am gearing-up to return with new art and new insights!

Hello All,

The weather is heating up here in San Diego and I am so happy that it is SUMMER at last!

I am also proud to announce that I am now a PROFESSIONAL (oooh, ahhhh!) Illustrator! I completed my BA degree this past Spring semester!!! ;^P

NEW Watercolor Painting: "Red-Hott Hoodie Hunk"

Hello Collectors & Friends,

I've finally finished another small watercolor painting, this one is somewhat tame, yet no-less appealing or revealing! I love the way guys look in hoodies, I feel it adds a bit more intrigue and sensuality...don't get me wrong...Naked is always best, but it's always fun to take something off, isn't it?! I also decided to add a bit more hair to this fella because I appreciate a little scruff and edge, it's HOTT!!!

So, without further delay, I present to you:

Hi again!

I decided to take some outside (non-scanned) photos of my 2 newest small-scale watercolor paintings "Naval" and "Beautiful Shaded-Ass".

They look awesome in the garden, this little patch of clovers and other foliage is growing near my art-shed woodpile, and it held the art perfectly for the photos, so vibrant and full-of-life!

The weather has been light and "just-right" here in San Diego, a bit of rain and lots of sunshine these past 2 days, the perfect conditions for photographing male nude art! heheh. {well, in my opinion, ahem...but really everyday is a great day for nudes, am I right?!}

ENJOY them as I have enjoyed doing this mini-photo project!

I have been focusing, and I have another watercolor to accompany "Naval"...that Sailor Boy won't be so lonely now! (...and if someone out there likes both of them, he or she can save on shipping, because I offer "combined-shipping" when I have more than 1 piece offered up for bidding on eBay! Hello Beauteous Peopleous!

I wanted to touch upon my thoughts about honesty and integrity in this post because every time I browse eBay for art (my competition) I see things that I have seen somewhere else on the Inter-webs, and then I see these decent-looking pieces, but upon further inspection I see that they are from China...(I am not saying that China is bad, I am almost half-Chinese, but an American none-the-less, heck my dad doesn't even speak Chinese!) what I am getting at is that I think being Honest and having Integrity is what should MATTER MOST, sure some of my pieces aren't the greatest when held up to some other art pieces, but that's Fine with me, because I know that I actually spent the time to make something that I KNOW IS ORIGINAL, and that I took the time to achieve the end result, whatever it may be. With each piece I learn a lesson and I gain invaluable practice as well. Why should anyone pay outrageous shipping & handling fees for a dishonest piece of art? I dunno, it just doesn't make sense to me.

That all being stated: PLEASE TRY TO SUPPORT ARTISTS in your HOME COUNTRY or LOCALLY! (Saying this might deter my friends in Europe, but I hope not, because I truly appreciate my Collectors there as well.) I am not saying to never buy Internationally, but I am saying that it's a heck of a lot better to buy from those you know are close at hand, and not from some country that may have "pirated" some other Artist's work or possibly even just ran it off a "highfalutin" printer in who knows where? There are SO MANY "starving artists" or artist's just trying to make a decent living off of their God/Higher-Being-Given talents on our own soil, so we should all help those people out.

Okay, I got out my rant/philosophy and have made peace with it...ON TO MY ART:

I am pleased to report that This New Year is off to a great start!

I am already busy working on new artworks gay-themed artworks so that I will have a frequent stream of Original artworks, prints and other items available on eBay, and probably just as important...to have content for this blog...I have searched with the keywords "gay illustration" and I haven't found much out there, I am not saying there isn't much gay art in general, but I personally don't feel there are many gay illustrators represented on the inter-webs so far, therefore it is my PLEASURE to be a sort of "pioneer" and I am very grateful that I get to share my imaginings, inspirations and other desires with fellow admirers of the male physique around the world.

{Having stated the previous statement, I would love anyone to send me links to any gay illustration sites that you come across...I like to see what's out there, as I said in my last post "I am a curious one". :^P }

And NOW, on to the ART....that's what this post's title is referring to...I have one of my earliest homo-erotic drawings (which was recently painted) up for 3-day bid on eBay until Monday (01/10/11) and I have my newest watercolor accompanying it. (I am a little hesitant to let such an early work of mine go, but I also feel that it's time to move on and keep evolving by not holding on so tightly to the past.)

About "What Happens in Vegas...":

After working on some more blatantly-erotic pieces I decided to do a more tame,yet adventurous, piece.

This piece is of course a flight of fantasy, something that every gay or bi man wish would happen, an attractive stranger exposing himself to the object of his lust!

I decided to title this piece "What Happens in Vegas..." because of the Tropical theme of this painting, I wanted to imbue a fun and slightly "campy" feel to this piece, this is not a piece that I feel should be taken seriously in the least. ^_^

Sometimes risks need to be taken to get attention and this piece is an ode to that adventurous-intrigue in all of us.

No matter how much we try to suppress our urges, strong feelings lurk in our deepest desires!

This is also the first 2 figure painting done in this style so this is a first for me and anyone who desires to collect my artworks.

The technique/medium I chose to use is also unusual, as I have not seen this method used in much artwork I have viewed in-person or online.
I like to use watercolors in a thick-application because I find it produces a great method of rendering forms and also doesn't get "shiny" should any scratches be made to the artwork while being worked upon, unlike Gouache.

Aside from that:

I love the mystery of this piece as one face is obscured, which honestly adds a bit creepiness (in a good way) for me...because I can't stand not knowing and not seeing things, heheh!

I am a curious one.

Hello there,

I have a new watercolor painting!

After working on some tame pieces I decided to do a more sensual piece.

I ripped a piece out of my canvas paper book and decided to leave the irregular edge because I thought it would "fit" well with the more erotic subject matter, and besides it is boring to have all the edges of the picture surface "straight" all of the time. I do what I want! heheh.

I decided to title this piece "Raw Hard Hunk" because of the raw paper edge and the hard, sculpted body of the model.

Mediums Used:

Pencil/Graphite, Watercolor, Textured Canvas Paper (the irregularly torn paper is mounted to 1/8" thick & sturdy illustration board. The board is irregularly cut as well, so the "white area" in the image is from my scanner's background and not part of this piece.)

Yea! Another Watercolor Painting of a Chisled Hottie!

Hello All,

I am happy to have completed another small watercolor painting of the modern muscular Adonis type. My boyfriend says that he looks Russian, so I should name him Sergei or Dimitri, but he thinks that Dimitri is too cliche. I have decided not to name him, perhaps the winning eBay bidder of this piece should be the name-giver? Or not? heheh. Whatever floats your boat!

Instead of a "name" I have titled the piece "Raw Hard-On Hunk". I decided to keep "raw" in the title because I wanted it to go with my "Raw Hard Hunk" watercolor painting (see post).

I am putting them both up for bid at the same time, so it is my hope that someone ends up "winning" both of them, and that way they can be together, hey there needs to be a "top" and a "bottom"...am I right? ...If it's not meant to be, and they are separated they will still have great "stand-alone" weight.
