For this session, we hung around home a bit and then went off to find some color and enjoy the sunshine. It was so lovely!

Every fall I think I’d love fall the most of all the seasons if what followed it wasn’t winter. But I’m not gonna complain about winter – not yet at least. I’m determined to enjoy it this year, dangit!

and it sucked.

but what can be awesome about prodromal labor, more often than not, is that when labor hits, it’s fast and furious and then – it’s done!

i was working with another doula on this birth – she and i, as well as the doc, were all at madison ican’s screening of more business of being born when labor finally decided to pick up steam. and boy did it ramp up quickly! we all headed out of the movie, and their babe was born before the movie was even done.

if ever there was a reason for three folks to leave a lovely gathering of birthie folk – it would be for a birth! and such a beautiful birth at that!

these lovely folk were on the blog for their belly pics – keep an eye out for some baby pics too in a couple of weeks….

i had such a good afternoon with these guys – so many fall days have been glorious this fall, and this was one of them.

i hear today and tomorrow might be two more glory days, so i hope we all get a chance to get outside!

we took photos in their home and out in their neighborhood that captured them all so perfectly.

the stress of finding the “perfect” location overwhelms parents, and the stress of getting “just the right shot” overwhelms the kiddos. but being at home and in the spaces kids are best themselves in is a recipe for really lovely – and true – captures.

i can’t wait to see these images up on their walls. it will be a true treat methinks. have a fantastic weekend all!

(The day I met these guys for the first time, we got to telling stories, and they told the story of a little moose. My girl and I have a little moose story too, so of course we had an instant connection. And out came Ambrose – who was a very vital piece of “Team Bean”, so of course he had to be included in the shoot!)
