Acoustic Hood

The unwanted, undesired sound is called noise. It causes general feeling of annoyance, interference with wanted sound, fatigue, damage to auditory mechanism and reduction in the efficiency of working performance. Regular exposure of the worker to the noise results in hearing losses. Now-a-days awareness about the sound level has increased, so we are in the need of a system which reduces the sound up to requisite level.

Design

Acoustic hood covers the complete blower and motor arrangement. Its fully sound proof cabin decreases the overall sound of the system to the accepted norms as per IS specifications. Provision of exhaust fan decreases heat in the chamber and fixing of the anchor bolts results in rigid base to the acoustic hood. This is a very effective enclosure to provide noise reduction of 15 to 20 dBA or more, to comply with international noise level & is available for all blowers and models.

The sound reduction enclosures are specially designed to reduce noise pollution to suit the local environment. These are engineered to take care of air intake and out-throw, resulting in a pleasing and attractive design.

Construction

The robust bodywork of sound reduction enclosures is due to its construction from preformed heavy gauge sheet steel section and its reinforcement with fabricated superstructure. Rubber gaskets are provided in all doors and external joints to resist weathering. The bolted structure provides easy removal of panels for maintenance and servicing of blowers

Super Quiet Compact Silent Acoustic Hood

After getting the mock up assembly of blowers and accessories (except filter and interconnected pipe line) following points to be followed for assembly of acoustic hood:

	First of all, fix the Anchor bolts in located foundation holes.
	Fix the BA frame with Anchor bolts.
	With the help of the nomenclature drawing fix the corner posts (4 No.s) with BA frame at four corners, and middle channels parallel to the corner posts as per the given picture.
	Fix the ZA frame on the corner posts and middle channels as per figure.
	Fit all the given panels at their respective place as per figure.
	Material of construction of the casing and lobes for all blowers in this series is C.I.F.G.-260 conforming to IS: 210.
	Fit the door at the given hinge as per nomenclature drawing.
	Adjust the centers of suction and discharge line with respect to acoustic hood openings.
	Fix covering plates on suction and discharge opening. (These covering plates are fixed with panels and are to be dismantled before fixing of suction filter and discharge pipe line.)
	Fix peep window, canopy, and exhaust fan at their respective location as shown in acoustic hood drawing and nomenclature drawing.

3HVP Series

Design

The unique of the DRY-HIGH VACUUM PUMP (Positive Displacement Type) is capable of attaining 28” Hg vacuum & eliminates the need for water or oil sealing. The 3HVP Series pumps do not require Heat Exchanges & are suitable for inlet temperatures without use of Pre coolers.

Heavy - Duty Construction

The Kay DRY-HIGH, VACCUUM PUMP is a positive displacement pump with two Tri-Lobes that are fitted with a set of these lobes to one another & maintain small but definite clearances. The 3HVP Series pump are designed for 24 hour (continuous) duty operation & have a self-cooing construction & does not require a Vacuum Relief Valve. These pumps are capable with handling Wet or Dry products & are available with top, Bottom, Left or Right Shaft & a clockwise or Anti-clockwise rotation for adaptation as immediate replacement for existing units.

Salient Features :

	This series covers the blowers from 604AC to 328AC.
	Series covers the air cooled as well as water cooled blowers. Above 7000mmwg water cooled blowers will be supplied.
	Capacity for 2KH series ranges from 250m3/hr to 9500m3/hr with pressure application from 2800mmwg (0.28kg/cm2) to 12600mmwg (1.26kg/cm2).

Salient Features :

	This series covers the blowers from 76 AC/WC to 1648 WC.
	Due to the piston ring arrangement used for sealing, this series is called PRT.
	PRT series is the series of moderate size blowers and is applicable where air is required with high pressure. (Up to 1.0kg/cm2 in single stage & up to 2.0kg/cm2 in double stage.).
	Series covers the air cooled as well as water cooled blowers. Above 7000mmwg water cooled blowers will be supplied.
	Capacity for PRT series Blowers ranges from 417m3/hr to 31500m3/hr with pressure application from 1000mmwg (0.1kg/cm2) to 10000mmwg (1.0kg/cm2).

Construction

Kay blowers have a robust construction that ensures reliability & durability

Body	:	in grade 25 cast iron with extra deep rib sections for greater rigidity under vacuum or pressure service. Numerous fixing positions.
Impellers	:	are accurately machined grade 25/S.G. Iron trilobes for close tolerance & long life operation. Dynamically balanced for smooth running & lower bearing loads.
Side plates	:	have vents that ensure no risk of oil contamination.
Cooling system	:	fins on the body ensure cooling & there is no need for expensive & troublesome water cooling arrangements.
Drive Shaft Assembly	:	a shaft end roller bearing allows the installations of all types of drives units, including very compact transmissions.
Seals	:	By piston rings.
Bearings	:	5 heavy-duty roller bearings for maximum loading. the bearing are held in machined cartridges the gears & bearings are fixed axially against shaft shoulder to control thrust loads & maintain end clearances.
Gears	:	alloy steel, heat treated helical ground teeth for very high strength & quiet operation

Salient Features

	The compact, sturdy design is engineered for 24 hours continuous service when operated in accordance with speed & pressure rating
	Each Kay blower has computer calculated impeller profiles & is precision machined on latest CNC machines assuring close tolerance between the impellers, body & side plates to minimize “Back slippage" of air improving efficiency & reliability.
	All rotating parts like impellers & pulleys are dynamically balanced to avoid undue load over the bearings.
	Precision hardened & ground helical steel gears located on the drive side for more input torque capability are used to ensure efficient operation without waste of energy
	Piston rings are used to reduce air leakage through the shaft openings in the side plates.
