“Anna develops Gwendolen patterns from her design studio in Dalston, London. She is inspired by a vast array of influences; patterns found in nature; the colours of Euan Uglo’s paintings; the graphics and typography of the Wiener Werkstätte.

Working closely with a Suffolk weaving Mill, Gwendolen patterns are woven in England into beautiful, bold jacquard fabrics, using unique blends of cotton, wool, linen, viscose and flax. Through the application of a heightened colour palette to a traditional weaving technique Gwendolen successfully creates unique, modern textiles with design longevity. The woven jacquard fabric is then made into cushions in Lancashire, England.”

 Air Waffle Towel:     This waffle towel is woven exclusively with special hollow yarn that has crevices in the yarn itself to generously capture air.  This was named Air Waffle Towel because it’s unbelievably light and soft, as if woven with air.  The fluffy and comfortable feel is acclaimed around the world as a material created by advanced technology and delicate sensibility.

Light and quick to dry – perfect for everyday and easy to pack for traveling.

Natural Color + Traditional Techniques:        Unbleached organic cotton yarn was dyed with an old tie-dye technique using only natural dyes such as chamomile, larkspur and rosehip.  The yarns are then woven into a double-face towel with gauze weave on one side and an unbleached organic cotton pile weave on the other side.  These beautiful towels have a subtle yet rich natural color shading.

The power of Charcoal for towels and robes:   Kishubinchotan is a top quality charcoal made by burning Kishu ubame oak at an extremely high temperature of 1300 degrees celsius.  Referred to as white charcoal, it is charred evenly, has few impurities, and minimal odor.  Charcoal is gaining attention for its humidity control and adsorption functions.  This charcoal is the ingredient that gives the Kishu-Binchotan towels and robes their charcoal color as well as their attributes.
