Saturday could not have been a more beautiful day.  The sun was shining, the wind was gone & Kelly & Nelson were like two teenagers getting ready for a dance.  Truly, this couple is so in love that it literally takes my breath away.  I could have photographed them for weeks.  From Kelly’s dress to the flowers to the location of the ceremony, everything was perfection.  Nelson’s daughter, Tess was an absolute gem as well.  She is such a beautiful little girl & she had so much fun all day & looked like a little princess herself.

As guests arrived on the lawn for the ceremony, they were greeted with champagne & a mariachi band played the wedding party & family to their seats.  It was perfect.  After an amazing cocktail hour featuring signature drinks, guest were welcomed into the barn.  A breathtaking room with 3 long tables filled with gorgeous floral arrangements & tables labeled for a favorite memory or spot of the couple.  My absolute favorite part of the reception aside from the scrumptious food that was served family style had to be the big surprise.  Kelly & Nelson hired Rashida…this absolutely kick butt soul singer.  The lights went out, Kelly & Nelson excused themselves to go outside & a few minutes later, in walks Rashida with her choir…her choir featuring none other than Kelly & Nelson!  It was amazing!  Her voice got everyone on their feet & blew everyone away.  We were speechless.

The night went on & there was dancing, cupcakes, cake & a super fun photo booth for everyone to get in on.  Did I mention the cupcakes from Susie Cakes?  Yummmmm.  The whole night was amazing!  And another awesome part?  I got to spend the weekend with some of my closest high school friends, Simeon got to come a swell AND I had the uber talented Megan Pomeroy with me photographing this whole weekend!  The best wedding for me to go out with.  I will be posting more, but this was my last wedding for a while.  Baby comes in less than 4 months & a move to Bahrain for a year…putting a few things on hold for now.

And now, here we are.  It did not take long.  We found out on December 1st after I sort of “suspected” it might be true.  But to be honest, I prepared myself to be let down, shake it off & move on to next month.  Turns out, my suspicion was right!  Positive!  Ever since then, it’s been a mixture of laughter, excitement, shock & yes some tears.  I’m new to this pregnancy thing, so I’m trying to be aware of everything.  And enjoying all of the changes happening.  Like just in the past couple weeks, I’ve noticed that I need to stick to snacks throughout the day.  My huge fear of gaining too much weight–like I’m sure a lot of women have–is at the forefront of my mind.  Sometimes I indulge, but I would say for the most part, I try to just eat small, healthy meals.  Lately I have been loving Greek Yogurt!  Eating 1-2 of those per day as one of my snacks.  The one thing I can’t stand to eat?  Chicken breast.  I have no idea why…I even made some the other night & pretty much just pushed it around, forcing myself to eat a few bites.  I really don’t want to ruin my love for chicken, so for now I’ll try using it in other ways.  Oh & rainbow sorbet has been a big hit!

So, this is just the beginning of documenting Baby Harvey.  I will try to do a blog post each week.  Talking about all things baby & pregnancy.  Good times!  I can’t wait to chronicle this little peanut’s life.  I am pretty sure he or she will be photographed quite often.  Yay!

Here is a photo of one of the first things we did.  I bought a block of wood & chalkboard spray paint & on New Years Eve, I wrote this & it sits in our home.  I’m sure I will change the saying here & there, but it’s fun to see it every morning.
