I made an easel card - so easy peasy yet something fun to make! I haven't received my Tea Shoppe set yet, soooooo, I made some custom DSP using my MDS! I added a gift card in the "cup" on the inside and thought this would make a great little thank you gift for a friend.

Luck o' the Irish!

Thanks to the new Diagonal Plate that goes along with my Simply Scored, I could add some embossing to the lower left of the card. I found after digging through my stamps, that I do not have anything that reflects St. Patty's Day. But, alas, I went to My Digital Studio and was able to print out a sentiment from Lucky Me stamp set! I love that even if I don't have the set, but do have it on MDS, I can still make a card:)

I popped the sentiment up with the label punch and dimensionals onto the embossed area.

The Diagonal plate made the embossing so easy! I even tried my hand at the matching envelope - so cool!!

I enjoyed making this card for a girlfriend's birthday at the end of the month. As an added bonus, I added an insert so my galpal could pass the card along to another friend. The sentiment and the rest of the stamping is from the Send Me Soaring set from the Occasions Mini. Two of the kits are cut from DSP and the middle kite is stamped in versa mark and embossed in white EP.

I used one of the new embossing folders for the "grass". Each of the kites are popped up with dimensionals and I added a little DSP as a liner to the envelope.

I hope my girlfriend will like it!

Geek Squad - I am not.......Due to popular demand......Flower tutorial

I apologize to everyone that tried to see the tutorial on how to make a paper flower - I thought I had it set up, but obviously my techy side failed. In any event - here is another try and I believe this one will work!

I received so many comments and requests for a tutorial on how to make the little flower in my card posted yesterday as a guest on Mary @ Stampinpretty.com.

So here it goes....

Punch a circle out using

start to cut the circle in a circular mode - make a "wave" with your scissor so the flower has a ruffled edge

continue cutting around....

until the entire circle looks like a spring

a closer view of the center

another view

starting with the outside (where you started to cut) start rolling the paper

continue rolling in a tight rol

roll until you reach the center and put a drop of glue (I use Tombow All Purpose) on the center

push down firmly for a few seconds

add some leaves and voila!

I haven't made a buckle card in a long while, so I thought I would give it another try.

I love the Everyday Enchantment DSP (126154) in the Sale-A-Bration cattie - it is so romantic. Of course the Label framelits (125598) are do much fun to use. I can't seem to get enough of them!

I do hope Stampin' Up! makes other shapes - they are truly addictive. The extra little touch in the flowers are the Basic Pearls (119247) - you get so many options with sizes (150 in all).

This is such an easy card, I have included the instructions below. Just change the card stock and extras.

You will need one piece of card stock 5 1/2 x 7 (this is your card base) scored at 4 1/4", another piece 1 5/8 x 5 1/2 scored at 3 1/2 (this is your buckle) and another 4 x 5 1/2 card stock for the inside. To decorate the front with DSP, you will need to cut a piece 2 3/4 v 5 1/4. Adhere (I used snail) the smaller end of the buckle to the card base before adhering the liner to the card base. The rest is up to you!

PPA 129 Sketch Challenge - a first for me!

One of the many benefits of being a member of Pretty Pals is to participate in a sketch challenge. Challenges really help get the creative juices going!

I enjoyed playing with this sketch and coming up with this card. I just received the You're My Type stamp set (C125650) and was excited to use it. I thought the typewritten paper fit perfectly with the style of stamp. First Edition specialty DSP (121878) provides for the background of "a little note". It is hard to see but I used Crystal Effects (101055) on the heart to give it a little "puff".

One of my pet peeves is an envelope that doesn't match the neutral card stock and since I only have a Whisper White 5.5 x 5.5 envelope, I decided to "wrap" this card in a Cellophane bag with some filler (remember the movie, "Love Actually"?)

Mojo Monday #228 (on Wednesday!)

It is Mojo Monday time again! I had a hard time with this sketch - until I was sitting at my craft table and noticed my spritzer! Tada! I used chocolate chip ink spots to fill in the blank spaces. The DSP is the gorgeous Mocha Morning (122366), Brushed Gold specialty paper (102935) and Very Vanilla card stock (101650). Pursuit of Happiness (C121970) provides the sentiment.

Mojo Monday#228 Sketch

Now, this is what I would consider the best idea that I have ever gotten - the best! Mary Fish at Stampin' Pretty showed an awesome way to recycle cards and to give the recipient permission to recycle their card.

This shows what is on the back of the insert. Mary has a personalized stamp (that is made out of a SU! address stamp), however, I thought I would try this first. I actually made this label on My Digital Studio - which will actually give me lots of flexibility. This way TWO people can enjoy a homemade card!

I love the new SAB Everyday Enchantment DSP with the coordinating brads(126154). I used the SAB Fresh Vintage (C#125117) to create a coordinating background to the DSP. I have never used the Peach Parfait card stock (I know, can you believe it??) and found that I actually like that color! Especially with the Pool Party - very fresh and springy (Peach Parfait #119794; Pool Party 122924). To throw in a little from the Occasions Mini - I decided to use the Label Framelits (125598) - all I can say is that I really hope SU! is going to come out with other shape for the framelits! I LOVE THEM! So easy to use!

Mojo Monday #227

It has been a while - but I am back! This is my entry for the Mojo Monday Challenge #227. Whenever I am stuck (creatively), it is always good to participate in a challenge to get those juices flowing:)

I was playing around one day and made a bunch of roses - I LOVE them! So I was very pleased when I realized that I could use one of the roses on my card. They are super duper easy and add such an element of spring - did I mention that I LOVE them???

Anyway, I used the new framelits to frame the sentiment and the Enchantment DSP from the Sale-a-bration.

I LOVE the new framelits!! I had so much fine creating this entry for the blog hop. I utilized retired DSP that has a little bling to it - I hope you can see it. I have a supply of the Open End Envelopes and have never used them. I decided to make something that could go in the envelope, however, it was too small. Sooooo, I made my own Open End Envelope with the blingy DSP! This little project is similar to one that will be made at my Stamp Camp coming up - I can't wait until everyone sees the framelits in action!
The supplies used are: Very Vanilla card stock, DSP, Real Red Textured card stock, Red Glimmer paper, Label Framelits, Fancy Favor Box, Big Shot, Satin Ribbon and Large Cellophane bags.

Mojo Monday Challenge #209 (on Tuesday)

Another Mojo Monday Challenge on the books! I love the elegance of this DSP - Mocha Morning (122366). Reminds me of vintage wallpaper:) I tried putting my Black Satin ribbon (117285) on the corner, however, I realized after I started to assemble my card, that I had it oriented the wrong way! Oops!

The Antique Brad (117272) adds to the elegance of my card and Artistic Etchings (C120573) provided the sentiment.

I LOVE the colors in the Cheerful Treat DSP! They all make me smile:)

This card is created for a dear family friend whose birthday is this week. There are a lot of "male vibes" in her house, so I thought she deserved some pink to brighten her day.

The Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch (122464) made making the flowers very easy and fun - the Lucky Limeade glimmer brad (121005) added just the
right amount of sparkle.

By adding a couple of layers to the Decorative Label Punch (120907), it really stands out. Of course, Friendly Phrases (C126151) provided the sentiment. I really enjoyed creating this card, plus the envelope (thank you Mary@ www.stampinpretty.com for the envelope tutorial) which was made soooo very easy with my Simply Scored (122334)

Fabulous Friday Feature!

Or also know as PPA 113 challenge:) I used one of my daubers with versa mark and stamped away - heat embossed with wild wasabi and voila! I made my own DSP!! I used my brand new Simply Score to put some lines on the edges - LOVE that tool!!

MOJO208 a/k/a Mojo Monday!

I know, I know, it isn't Monday. I like to participate in the Mojo Monday challenge anyway - so here you go.

I obviously chose the square - used by latest favorite technique and "quilted" the DSP to give it a little warmth. FINALLY - I am using the large button that I ordered. I have a bag full of them and have no idea how to use them! Hah! Now I do:)

Check out page 23 of the Holiday Mini and you will see something very similar to this card. I love this new stamp set - I am a firm believer in Christmas being celebrated - not the Winter Holiday:)

In addition to the new stamp set, I used the new pewter embossing powder. It is so fine that it picks up every letter and swirl. I have yet to find an embossing powder that is as good.

It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Well, maybe not looking like Christmas, but I was feeling the "spirit" when I made this card. I love the technique of using an Square Lattice Impressions Folder (119976) over an element - it really makes it appear like it is a part of it. I used the new Silver Shimmer paper for the center of the poinsettia - it makes it so easy to add a little bling to your card.

I used the Blossoms Petals Builder (121808) for the petals of the poinsettia and the leaves. Using a little Early Espresso ink (119670) with dauber
(102892), gives the poinsettia leaves some dimension. Delightful Dozen (C122652) provided the sentiment on my favorite go-to punch - Decorative Label (120907). The silver cord is a retired item.
