• The Home of God, the Father. (Mt. 5:48; 6:9; 7:11, 21)

2.      Being in heaven will be like being in a new home.

• Heaven is a home where everything will be new. (Rev. 21:5)

1. The newness of heaven is described as being incorruptible. (1 Cor. 15:51-53)
2. That means that the new you and me will never die – no growing old or wearing out will take place in heaven.

• We will be blessed with singing a new song in our new home. (Rev. 14:3)

3.      Being in heaven will be like being in a place where there will be no more:

• Separation (Jn. 3:16, 36; 6:68; 12:25; 1 Thess. 4:17)
• Sin (1 Cor. 6:9-11; Gal. 5:19-21)
• Sadness or sorrow (Rev. 21:4)

4.      Being in heaven will be like being at home with people of faith of all ages.

• Being with those of the Patriarchal Age – the time from creation until the giving of the 10 commandments on Mt. Sinai. (Mt. 8:11; Heb. 11:4-16)
• Being with those of the Mosaic Age – the time from the giving of the 10 commands until the death of Christ on the cross. (Heb. 11:23-40)
• Being with those of this, the Christian Age – the time from the death of Jesus until He comes again a second time. (Acts 7:55-60; 2 Tim. 4:7-8; 1 Pet. 1:3-4; 1 Thess. 4:15-17)

5.      Being in heaven will be like being at home with little children.

• David speaks of going to be with his son there. (2 Sam. 12:23; Ps. 23:6)
• Jesus speaks of all the little children who will be there. (Mt. 18:1-4; 19:13-14)

6.      Being in heaven will be like being in the home of good books.

• The Bible – 1 Pet. 1:25.
• Other books – Rev. 20:11-13.
• The Lamb’s Book of Life – Rev. 20:15; 21:27

In many ways, our lives can be compared to one long set of railroad tracks, extending all the way from birth to our future and eternal home in heaven. Yet, all along the way are obstacles and junctions which impede our progress and cause us to veer onto the wrong track. When we fail to continually strengthen ourselves by making the right decisions, we can become spiritually weak and unable to power past the obstacles that lie in wait to derail us. This is what the apostle Paul warned against when he said, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 15:58)

This VBS is about how to stay strong, powerful, and traveling down the right track as we make our way along life’s journey. So if you are ready for a life which is blessed by your own actions, attitudes, and decisions, then we invite you to join us on this remarkable journey as we learn to stay on the right track in a troubled world. Even now, if you listen closely above the hissing of the steam and the ringing of the bell, you can hear the conductor calling you — “All Aboard!”
