First of all some symbolic or figurative formats are used for writing, after that they are used for speaking. Similarly some symbolic or figurative formats are used on radio or a TV show at first, after that they are used for writing purpose.

It is hardly to believe but I saw a report about a man living in Birmingham who can grave in so small things that you won`t be able to see it with your naked eyes. E. g. the prayer " Our Father in heaven, ..." has he graved on a head of a nail. He does a lot of swim exercise to keep his breath and heart quiet. Two belts and a piece of a pipe from a roof keeps his arm still and he has of course a microscope. He needed two weeks to grave the name GALILEO on a fisher`s hook.

Maybe one of our English ladies here has anything heard of him and his passion.

I love France! I'm in the south of France right now, in Nice (a nice name for a nice place). It's in an area called the Riveria, which is by the Mediterranean. Till about the 1870s it was still part of Italy and there's still quite a lot of Italian influence, as well as a lot of Italians who visit and even have weekend places all along the coast. In the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, the British got into the habit of spending time here in the winter, as the climate is very agreeable. Blue skies and sunshine.

But what I love most about France is that everywhere you go, there's a different cuisine, traditions, and history, each area with it's own character. France is a fascinating place to explore.

Funnily enough though (!), the French don't like the English much (I choose 'English' carefully, as they like the Scots).

Who was he? A 23-year-old City whiz-kid. Well that's what the papers are calling him, I think I'd call him something else.

Carnival

Last night we went down to the beach to see the finale of the Nice carnival. There was a big effigy of the king of the carnival on a raft which archers shot flaming arrows to set alight. Poor old king went up in flames. There was then a spectacular firework display over the sea that lasted for nearly an hour. The atmosphere was lovely and it was a great family event. At around 10pm, everyone trouped off homewards. The festival lasts two weeks and is held in Nice every February. I didn't see any of the parades this time, but they're usually quite a spectacle.

Are there any special carnivals in your home place? Rio de Janerio maybe has the most famous one.
