New Android Seen Easing OS Fragmentation
Ice Cream Sandwich, the latest version of Android, is likely to ease the fragmentation of the operating system, some device executives said on Thursday.

Google unveiled Ice Cream Sandwich last month in the Galaxy Nexus, set to go on sale this month in the U.S., Europe and Asia. The new OS achieves much of what device makers have been trying to achieve <img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/LearnLinuxBasics-EverythingYouNeedToKnowAboutLinux/~4/2ZItWHAKk3I" height="1" width="1"/>

IPhone 4S Raises the Bar for Google Android Event

The iPhone 4S launched Oct. 14, just a week and a half after it was unveiled. Now, on Wednesday, Samsung and Google are expected to unveil the Nexus Prime smartphone and Ice Cream Sandwich, the latest version of Android. (As Mashable’s Ben Parr put it, “the invite itself features the iconic Android character in the form of an ice cream sandwich. You do the math.”)

Until Steve Jobs came along, apple was the name of a popular fruit often portrayed as the fruit that Biblical character Eve offered to Adam, which resulted in the two being banished by God from the Garden of Eden.

Although the Bible refers to that fruit as coming from the Tree of Knowledge, the use of the apple as a symbol was actually introduced only by renaissance artists.
