Dear Friends,

A HUGE, BIG BALL OF THANKS to you for providing the incentives for staff for Learn & Play @CML! A few people wanted to thank you in person!

We weren’t able to get everyone in this video, as the response from staff was overwhelming, but did you see how excited Erica was? Friends, by providing these incentives, you helped encourage 495 staff to begin the journey to learn about Web 2.0 technologies and get some new experience on the Internet! 254 staff actually completed the journey.

What would we do without our Friends??? We don’t even want to know!

Today we visited Lauren to deliver her brand spankin’ new digital camera!

gerald2.0 determined that when he worked at Reynoldsburg, he had the best circ staff EVER; I determined that Lauren has, like, the best laugh EVER; and Kevin determined that he is indeed jealous of Lauren winning her brand spankin’ new digital camera!

Congratulations, Lauren! Enjoy your new camera! And thanks again to the Friends of the Library for providing us with these brand spankin’ new incentives!

OMG! gerald2.0 and I are SO celebrating because of the success of Learn & Play! We’ve had so much fun delivering the incentives to the winners, hearing about how much everyone enjoyed the program, and reading your thoughts on L&P from your 23rd posts. Celebrate with us! Confetti all ’round!

What’s that? You say you were so close to finishing but you just needed a little more time to get that flash drive? Well, fret not, my friends! You have until December 31st to complete Learn & Play and still get a flash drive! That’s right, even if you weren’t able to get through all the 23 Things to be eligible for the incentive-drawings, you can still get the flash drive! Just be sure to continue to use the Tracking Log so that I know who you are and can give you credit for finishing. It’s still not too late!

And continue to keep an eye on this blog (add it to your RSS feeds, if you haven’t already! ), because we’re planning the NEXT STEPS of Learn & Play and you don’t want to miss out! Thanks again, everyone! Let’s celebrate! wOOt!

gerald2.0 and I had a great day Thursday of delivering some more awesome incentives provided by the Friends of the Library to winners who completed Learn & Play @CML! First we stopped to deliver the video recorder to Linda at Hilliard:

Linda told us that she already has plans to shoot some videos over the holidays!

This second delivery was to drop off the iPod Shuffle at Hilltop. John’s Blog, gerald2.0, and I had a nice chat with Charles, who was so excited he couldn’t open the box!

We really appreciate the participation of staff in Learn & Play! Keep watching this here blog because gerald2.0 and I will be sharing some more information soon. Information you’ll want to know because it involves the NEXT STEPS of learning and playing!

Yesterday, gerald2.0 and I delivered the shiny new laptop to winner Erica at New Albany!

Congratulations to Erica for completing Learn & Play and for winning the laptop! You can tell she’s excited, can’t you?!? The laptop will be helpful for her as she continues her work on her Bachelors degree. And, she has already put into action some of what she learned about during the program!

CML staff are the best! Not to mention the Friends of the Library for providing these AWESOME incentives, and the managers and supervisors for supporting this great program.

Why not? We’ve been interviewing everyone else, why not interview each other?

As you know, there was the option of blogging anonymously for Learn & Play and many took advantage of it. One of these anonymous bloggers was the elusive PixelWiki. gerald2.0 and I searched the entire system and, finally, we made contact!

We’re glad that staff are willing to participate, even if they choose to do so anonymously. There’s still time to finish! You have until December 2nd!

Janet likes mushrooms. A lot. But Janet also like Learn & Play. A lot. So we went and talked to Janet about Learn & Play. She told us a joke about mushrooms. We all laughed. It was funny. Janet is working on getting caught up on Learn & Play. Aren’t we all?

Janet has until December 2, 2008, to complete all 23 things and get her 1GB flash drive and to be entered into win one of the great incentives provided by the Friends of the Library. Thanks, Friends of the Library! Don’t forget, you can do the same thing by completing your 23 Things by December 2nd!

Just the other day, gerald2.0 and I were over in England (yes, we were) and we visited the ancient, mystical structure called Stonehenge. While there, we were pleasantly surprised to see ohlibrary, also taking in the sights. Of course we had to chat:

You can follow ohlibrary’s lead and still participate in Learn & Play, even if you’re behind on your 23 Things and won’t finish before the December 2nd deadline. It’s the journey and the experience that matter.

After speaking to ohlibrary, gerald2.0 and I were off to see Spinal Tap. We had heard about the new Stonehenge-themed set they were unveiling. Rock on!
