The power of any magic is, of course, in the mind, and for prosperity spells to have any potency or noticeable effect, your mind will need to be very clear.

The desire to attract money is a strong one, and as a student and practitioner of the law of attraction I’d put forward the hypothesis that the spell achieves and enhances precisely that. Think of hypnosis where a subject can be made to believe, for example, that a raw onion is a tasty orange. Is this magic or proof that the mind has the ability to manipulate meaning including even our own senses?

Well, it could be perceived that way – it matters little what you call the power as long as it produces results. Prosperity spells, then, have the advantage of focussing the mind by use of rituals and incantations which are indeed very powerful tools.

The disadvantage of trying to attract wealth by use of a spell is that you have to believe in the power of the magic as well as the outcome, whereas to engage the law of attraction is, in a sense, to cut out the “middle man.” Then all that’s required is belief in the outcome – having more money come into your life.

Since humanity has been sentient, people have believed and understood that we can influence our circumstances and what, nowadays, is mostly considered the “outside world.” The notion of separation from externals is, however, surprisingly modern and by no means universal.

The power of belief is phenomenal and should not be underestimated. Whether we are speaking of magic or of hypnosis or indeed of miracles, all of which fall somewhere in the spectrum of producing results that cannot be explained by our conventional scientific understanding, prosperity spells should most certainly be considered a powerful tool in the creation and attracting of wealth.

When living a stressful lifestyle or experiencing an unwelcome amount of stress, getting the full quota of sleep is important. If short-term sleep is deprived or if generally suffering from insomnia, it can make life a whole lot more difficult as irritability, a lack of tolerance and even depression can weigh heavily making even the easiest of tasks appear difficult.

Setting up a sleep schedule will help to make falling asleep a little easier. This means going to bed about the same time every night where possible as this builds up a positive sleep pattern and subconsciously aids deep sleep. Setting up a regular routine immediately allows the individual to become use to this pattern of behaviour, so there are less concerns about how to get off to sleep.

It’s easy to over-think about work, life, and any particular problem or even fret about the next day’s events and these thoughts can be reason enough why sleep is evasive. Mix this with raised levels of cortisol which is linked to chronic stress and the reason for a lack of sleep becomes obvious.

If a difficulty in falling asleep is experienced initially, ensure that no stimulants such as coffee or alcohol have been consumed. There is nothing wrong with having a drink but they have been proven to interrupt a sleep pattern. To start off with, the individual should avoid any stimulations and ensure that the bedroom is warm and inviting, with low lights, no drafts to disturb and no external noises.

A few drops of pure essential Lavender Oil can be added to the pillows or to the quilt as this is conducive to relaxation.

When the mind and body feel too tense for sleep to come, try a progressive relaxation as this can help ease out the tension that may be unknowingly held within the muscles and once this is released, sleep should come naturally.

Lying flat, with eyes closed, take the attention to the feet and ankles and deliberately tense them, holding the tension for a few seconds. Release the tension suddenly and the difference will be noticeable. Then systematically work through the whole body, tensing the calf muscles and the knees, then releasing. Next, focus on tensing the thigh muscles and buttocks, and then release. Working up the body, abdomen, chest, the arms, neck and shoulders (where many people hold tension) even the face and scalp should be tensed and then relaxed. Ensure that the whole body is subjected to this progressive relaxation technique and afterwards, much of the muscle tension will have been dissipated.

This can be done every night or at any time to suit.

Over the years researchers have tried to prove whether it is our genes or our environment.

The only answer that has been determined so far is that both of them contribute greatly in shaping us.

This is when we tend to weigh nature with nurture.

When we reach that age of going to school then our personality development will come about from our classmates and the people we spend most our time with, The group that we hang around.

I just love people that live their dreams, don’t you? I just recently watched the wonderful Robin Williams film, “Patch Adams.” Dr. Patch Adams, in case you don’t know, (SEE this movie – it’s a must for anyone into positive living – and I promise I’m not working for commission!), believed in helping people to heal for free by teaching them to laugh, to feel again. He even helped people to die that way.

I’m saying it in the past tense, but Dr. Adams is still alive and his hospital exists. According to the credits, many doctors have quit their high paying practices to work with Dr. Adams.

Who has touched your heart with a dream they lived? It doesn’t have to be a Mother Teresa or even Patch Adams. How about Torvill and Dean, the ice skaters? Or Madonna?

Notice what thoughts come up when you think of such people. Are they, “Wow, one day that’ll be me!” type of thoughts, or do you find yourself saying, “Yeah, well they just had a lotta luck, and ordinary folk like me can’t do diddly squat.” Hmm, I wonder if Danny De Vito or Oprah Winfrey would agree with you there?

If you’re not living your dream, could you, would you entertain the possibility that it’s your thoughts that are holding you back – and nothing else?

business development book called “The Answer” by John Assaraf and Murray Smith. This book

has had such a positive impact on my business and personal life that I felt compelled to share

what I have learned and how I have applied it in my world.

John Assaraf has been studying personal growth philosophies as well as brain science for the

better part of 25 years. When he refers to a “universe” inside of our brains, he makes an excellent

analogy. When I think of the universe, I think of a huge array of systems and processes that ow

together in perfect harmony. And that is exactly what our brains do. With the latest developments

in science and technology, we now know more about the brain than at any other time in human

history.

With that in mind, anyone interested in achieving success, developing their potential and living a

ful lled life would be very wise to spend some signi cant time learning about this

“supercomputer” we have in our heads. Whether you realize it or not, your brain has been

programmed to control your behaviour and is directly responsible for the results you are

producing in your life. This is where “The Answer” comes in and where I have been able to

personally implement some life changing ideas.

One lesson that had signi cant impact on me was the fact that our conscious brain is responsible

for only 2-4% of our behaviour. This means that 96-98% of what we do every single day is

managed and controlled by our nonconscious brain. We don’t have to think about these tasks,

they are taken care of without our conscious awareness. Examples I have noticed for myself

include sitting in a chair, getting dressed, chewing food, writing notes and even driving my car.

These tasks did require my conscious attention at some point earlier in my life, but through

repetition have become “installed” in my nonconscious brain.

What’s amazing is that it is almost impossible to list out all of the activities we perform on a

daily basis because there are so many. With the awareness that only 2-4% of these activities

require us to think, it becomes quite obvious that using will power or other similar forcing

functions to reach a major goal in life is futile at best. The true solution is to reprogram the

nonconscious section of the brain so that those automatic actions work for us and move us

toward our goals.

Here is one example of how I have made this work personally. Knowing that I had many goals

that I had not yet reached and being aware of this conscious/non conscious relationship, I was

able to sit down and mentally review my self-limiting thoughts and behaviours. Some of my

personal examples included wasting time reading unimportant email, eating a snack when I was

not truly hungry, reacting with anger when a situation did not go as I wanted it to, starting a good

business book but not completing or implementing it (the list goes on as well). By simply

becoming aware of these nonconscious habits, I have been able to organize my own personal

development routines to replace these actions with more positive empowering ones. I will shed

more light on this as we move forward in this article.

Another lesson that I learned from “The Answer” has to do with what some people call self-

image’ or in the case of this book, the thermostat in your brain’. This idea was originally

described in the 1950′s by Dr.Maxwell Maltz in his famous book “Psycho-Cybernetics”.

Essentially, this part of our brain is responsible for keeping us safe and free from danger. It also

keeps us on track with a set point much like a thermostat would do for the temperature in a house

or an autopilot would do for an airplane. The problem is that our self-image sets the boundaries

of our comfort zone and so it can prevent people from taking action that will bring them

happiness and success if those actions require perceived risk.

For me personally, I have always had the goal of having a toned gure with very low bodyfat and

respectable muscle mass. While I have been quite disciplined at maintaining a tness routine, my

personal thermostat was not set at the same level as my goal. I had always been anywhere from

20-40lbs overweight for the majority of my life. Eating and drinking habits were my biggest

challenge points.

When I rst got entrenched in personal development, I started to make some physical changes. I

got down very close to my ideal bodyweight after years of trying to do so (I had actually done so

once in the past only to gain all of the weight back). Even though I worked hard to get to that

level, I still did not have the speci c body shape and tone that I had always dreamed of. Despite

my efforts, I still had lingering habits (of eating and drinking) that, in hindsight, I did not realize

were problematic until I starting studying the ideas in “The Answer”.

When I learned about the process of rewiring your brain’ to make signi cant and lasting changes

in personal results, good things began to happen. In essence, if we want to ingrain a new habit

into our behaviour, we have to “physically forge new neural pathways within the tissues of your

brain.” This is not a process that happens overnight, but rather, something that takes time and

repetition.

Once I actually understood this process and studied what was going inside of my brain, I was able to create 30, 60 and 90 day challenges for myself where I would perform new tasks and create new habits that would move me closer to my ideal vision of my personal health. Those challenges helped me form habits that I keep with me today and made me a much healthier person today.

What kind of new activities could you be implementing and re-wiring into your brain to achieve bigger better and more exciting results for your life?

Because stress can be endured over a period of time without the individual truly becoming aware of it or by them simply accepting it as part of their lives, one of the most important aspects of stress management is to take those first positive steps towards making key changes as this will then create the strong foundations that are required to master stress control.

It’s important that progression is consistent throughout; they may be small steps individually but they are powerful ones nevertheless. The idea is to change any existing behaviours and to stress-proof new routines as much as possible, re-inventing both thought and actions going forward. This might sound difficult, but the most difficult aspect is always going to be identifying areas of change, after that, it is merely consolidating those lifestyle changes.

When life is muddled and very stressful, identifying the stress triggers that cause the problems will make changing them that much easier. Taking a pen and paper, write down all of the things that cause the most stress.

- No time to yourself

- Problems with the teenage son or daughter

- Money problems- more going out than coming in

- Feeling undervalued at home and at work

- Too much work

The list should be as comprehensive as possible and very honest. No-one else has to see the list and even those annoying little stressors should be captured because although on their own, they may just be a source of irritation, coupled with other factors, they can form powerful stress triggers that can cause much damage physically, healthily and emotionally.

Once the list is complete, it should be scrutinized with a sense of clarity to identify those areas where changes could be made. If necessary break the list down into a series of sub-sections and options such as:

- Feeling undervalued at home

- Having to do all of the housework as well as work full-time

- Main culprit Husband/Wife step-son

- Started happening when partner changed job and worked a lot more hours (pattern established).

Options

- Open up communication to partner

- Discuss jointly with step son and work out parameters

- Stick to it.

By writing down everything that evokes a stress response i.e. churning feeling in the stomach, headaches, tears, anger, or irritability for example, the individual is able to really understand what is going on in their lives and why they feel the way they do. In addition, this clarification of stress triggers helps the individual to face any set of real problems and tangible problems can always be overcome.

Self doubts, irregular thought patterns and feelings of inadequacies or helplessness are more difficult to fight. Ascertain the true cause of those stressors and deal with them one by one.
