It was The March of the Despicable for the democrat House leadership this morning as the communists paraded to Congress to take over one-sixth of the US economy and finish crushing the America we love.

The grand processional was lead by Her Royal Highness, Nancy Facelift accompanied by Rep. John Lewis, who allowed himself to be used as a house Negro photo prop. It seems the man had marched in the Civil Rights marches in ‘65--get the tortured analogy??

I’m embarrassed for him and his family, but it serves him right; democrats act like they own blacks… because politically, blacks only want to live off the hard work of others. It’s been that way since 1964. The so-called African-Americans (sic) of today are nothing more than a wholly owned subsidiary—”useful idiots”—of the far left.

We will lose the health care vote today, but I have faith that this will be Real America’s Alamo to be be followed by the traitors’ San Jacinto. For those of you who were required to take a classes on the Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual, Transgendered and Terminally Confused in high school instead of Texas history, it’s simple:

We lost the Alamo, and a similar battle at Goliad in which undocumented Latino military workers killed the Texicans to a man. But with the angry curse and promise of “Remember the Alamo!” “Remember Goliad!”, we caught the bastards at San Jacinto forces in a fight that lasted just eighteen minutes.

The Texicans slaughtered 700 of the Mexican soldiers and captured 730. General Santa Anna was captured dressed in a dragoon private's uniform while hiding in a marsh. After a short stint as a POW, he was released.

In the U.S.—Mexican War in 1846 some Illinois National Guardsmen captured the leg and we still have it.

Come November, Pelosi won’t have a leg to stand on; Americans—Real Americans—have long memories. But it depends on us… it’s simple; if your senator or representative is a traitor to America, send him or her back across the Rio Grande.

Here’s the latest contestant for the 2010 Leni Riefenstahl Propaganda Prize for efforts on behalf of a far left wing government.

Some Real Americans believe that if we stop Obamacare, we have turned the corner on taking the government back from the communists; not so fast.

While perhaps the major battle at the moment, there are lesser battles being waged on all fronts and there as as many as there are Tiger Woods hookers.

Education: Quietly last September the House voted to cut banks and student loan giant Sallie Mae out of most of the $92 billion college student loan business, and give it the Education Department.

Said House Education Committee Chairman George Miller, a Democrat, "We must not waste this opportunity to fix America's broken health insurance system and make college much more affordable, at no cost to taxpayers."

No one who ever attended a day of college would believe that having the federal government involved would ever save money. More importantly, this means that in addition to socialist and communist—controlled banks, insurance companies, car companies and in one way or another most aspects of the federal government, education will controled via purse strings.

If the White House controls students loans, it will largely control the type of person who gets into college. Loans for the few conservative colleges will be turned down and admission clerks will be looking for the “right” classes, activities, and politics of the applicant.

Minority/affirmative action populations will skyrocket as the doors are thrown wide to the more easily controlled diversities who seek “social justice” rather than good paying jobs.

Perhaps your liberal sister-in-law isn’t concerned about real diversity in college, because she thinks it has to do with skin color. Well, what about medical school?

What happens in a nation where health care is already controlled by the people who brought Chicago the Olympics, and then they control who gets into med school?

We had a recent example of that in Maj. Nidal "I can't wait to join you in the afterlife” Hasan, M.D. who was pushed along by government handlers who recruited him, educated him through med school, commissioned him (despite his being a radical Muslim with terrorist ties)… and then unleashed him to kill 14 and wound 30 others.

That’s why I don’t like liberals… they’ll get you killed.

And in case you’ve always wondered how Magic Negro Barack Hussein Obama—the Manchurian candidate—was able to afford all his education, travel and living expenses without a work history that most students have, just follow the money and Dr. Khalid Al-Mansour.

He makes Rev. Wright look like a moderate; and he has had contact with Obama as far back as the 1980s.

On a personal note….

We buried my Aunt Treva next to Uncle Bud at Prairie Hill Cemetery yesterday as a hard southwest Oklahoma wind rattled the small, green tent sheltering family and friends.

She was the matriarch of a fine family the pastor called a “good family… I wish all families were as good as this family”; and they were all there to say good-bye to a fine Christian woman who held her clan together from the earliest days.

I have a deep and abiding respect for motherhood and I double that when it comes to the military wife and mother. If you think that “Mrs. Chief Master Sergeant” or “Mrs. Lieutenant Colonel” aren’t important to their husbands’ career and thus the national defense, you know nothing about the military.

Those who wait also serve.

My Uncle Bud was career Air Force during the coldest part of the Cold War and was stationed here and there around the world. And that left Aunt Treva to plan the moves, pack, check into and out of schools, get the shot records updated, shop, chauffer, serve as Den Mother, attend school activities, represent her husband on base when necessary, unpack, worry, shed some tears, cook, clean….

…. and then in the afternoon….

Sadly, Uncle Bud passed too young, too early and since 1985, Grandma and Great-Grandma Treva took on more duties and relinquished others as Johnny and Teri left home and started their own families.

She was a sturdy prairie rose; and she always reminded me of the proverbial water fowl who furiously trashes the water below, but remains absolutely serine on the surface.

She made it look easy… and that’s the definition of grace.

Real America and Real Americans can still fail, however, if we do not ensure that only conservatives and libertarians control the government. This is what happens when Real Americans fall asleep on watch, as we have since Barry Goldwater.

“Reasonable gun laws”?…. sure; abortion?…. sure; legislating from the bench?…sure; Mirandizing?…sure. Mirandizing POWS?… sure. Trying Mirandized POWS in civil courts?…sure. Releasing Mirandized POWS to kill American troops?… sure.

Loss of the Fifth Amendment, while the Second hangs by a 5-4 decision with a madman in the White house who’ll get at least two most SCOTUS appointments.

An all-out war on capitalism, with some captains of industry trying to make deals with the communists to be eaten last.

Gay marriage, the politics of gay/lesbian/bi//he/she/it teachers, coaches, members of congress; planned parenthood, food police, smoking police, cell phone police, speech police, thought police.

The malignant growth of unions run by Marxist collectivists.

“Women’s rights” run by radical lesbian feminists. Health care run by people unqualified to process your license plates.

Allowing the idea to persist that adulthood does not occur until the early 30s.

Forcing the top 10% of the workers in American to pay 80% of the taxes, and allowing 40% of the workers to pay no taxes whatsoever… yet reward them with free medical, free food, free education and babysitting, and cash for having kids…. you know the typical Obama voter.

Somehow people allowed the idea to root that your darling college sophomore is smarter than you, and is a “leader of tomorrow”.… while you’re playing for her tuition, room, board and as much fun as she can have.

…. well, perhaps she is smarter than you.

The best young Americans are serving in the military or working in law enforcement/first departments/ public safety …. the rest of young America never have and never will serve this nation.

Growing up and getting a job isn’t service—there was a day when it wasn’t necessary to point out the difference.

How did this happen? When did it happen?

It happened as soon as we became fat, complacent and lazy…. right after the Japs surrendered about the USS Missouri, you can look it up.

It began when we stopped going to church and started getting divorced; it happened when yes sir, and no m’am disappeared from children's vocabularies; it happened when men stopped acting, sounding and looking like men… when they abdicated their leadership role in every segment of society.

It began as soon as we stopped defending normal.

We’ll survive Obama, but I seriously doubt that our resolve will last long enough for our great nation to return to its founding principles in mind, and heart and spirit.

And without that final nail in the coffin of the left, it will happen all over again.

For those who might care…. a bit of film-making opinions:

One day they might have a feature film about the 2010 Academy Awards… it had all the drama and sub-plots and silliness that occurs when you corral several hundred of the world’s top narcissists in one large room and turn on the cameras.

I seldom go to the theater, and if I see nominated films, it’s usually not until much later, but the main reason I tuned last night was to see two winners…. best pic and best supporting actor.

My hunches in each category were confirmed as Christoph Waltz took best supporting actor for his brilliant performance as a Jew-hunting/hating Nazi officer in “Inglorious Basterds” Quentin Tarantino’s terrific WII fantasy; and “The Hurt Locker” beat the Na'vi out of James Cameron’s “Avatar”—a very anti-American, anti-Marine Corps film. As I understand it, Avatar is essentially “Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee”, blah-blah-blah… blah.

Perhaps one day all such awards will depend on the art of film making and not how many gazillion$ pour into producers’ pockets.

Part of my need to watch was to see if anyone involved with Locker would bother to recognize those who the fight real wars in Iraq and Afghanistan… our soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines.

I was gratified that the talented and lovely Kathryn Bigelow (and Cameron’s ex-wife) thanked the troops twice as she dedicated the Oscars for Best Director and Best Picture to “to the women and men in the military who risk their lives on a daily basis in Iraq and Afghanistan.”

And Mark Boal, winner for best original screenplay, thanked Bigelow, dedicated his Oscar win to “…the troops still in Iraq and Afghanistan, along with those who did not make it home.”

Cinematic revenge on the Nazis

Waltz’s Nazi uber-villain steals Basterds, but just barely; two very strong female parts were also well-written and acted.

This was not the movie I expected to see. It was not simply a "Brad Pitt-makes-a-movie" movie; in fact, his role was little more than comic relief as he gives way to an exceptional international cast which carries the film in a tight and very tense game of cat and mouse in occupied France.

All the Tarantino trademarks were there (which I like), but do not intrude on the story as much as in his other films; he seems to have learned that he doesn't need to shout "here I am" from behind the camera.

The casualty count mounts in ways that surprise and I really enjoy—in today's films, I'm grateful for any surprise.

A nice little bonus is a film-within-the-film aspect that allows of all manner of inside UCLA film school trivia... most of which I'm sure I missed.

Highlights included wins by Sandra Bullock and Jeff Bridges—who was overlooked by the academy for his title role in “The Big Lebowski.”

Lowlights… Babs Streisand damned near choking when Bigelow praised the troops, after making a a big deal out of the first chick to be named best director.

And lastly I’m going to get very tried of morbidly obese black women who drone on and on about Hattie McDaniel, and for only that being held up as some sort of role model.

Here’s one of the critical problems in America right now…the two best men in the GOP are Sara Palin and Michelle Bachmann.

Don’t get me wrong…nothing wrong with them; in fact they’re the only GOP leadership giving out better than they take.

And that’s a sad commentary on a once great party that has fallen under the control of leftist-lite, progressives and RINOs; at least Sara and Michelle (along with Dick Cheney) have no problem standing in the breech and are willing to do so.

And that seems to shame no one in the repubic leadership.

Why, here’s one: Lindsey “Light-in-the-Loafers” Graham is about to throw you South Carolinians under the proverbial bus and give citizenship to all the wetbacks, terrorists, cartel and gang members, drug addicts and mariachi musicians.

“Obama and members of his Domestic Policy Council outlined ways to resuscitate the effort in a White House meeting with two senators -- Democrat Charles E. Schumer of New York and Republican Lindsey Graham of South Carolina -- who have spent months trying to craft a bill.”

According to a person familiar with the meeting, the White House may ask Schumer and Graham to at least produce a blueprint that could be turned into legislative language.

The basis of a bill would include a path toward citizenship for the 10.8 million people living in the U.S. illegally.

As faithful LM31 readers know, I haven’t watched the Olympics in years and doubt I ever will again.

A small part of my disinterest, especially about the Winter Games, is that anytime manicures, fashion and make-up are required of the “athletes”… that ain’t sports.

And the women’s events are even worse.

But 99% of the reason always sparks this small protest about the biggest display of jackassery, disrespect and abuse of our nation’s emblem by Americans outside most college campuses.

At least the America team doesn’t bow to foreigners.

The terrorist bomber, enemy of my country and Friend of Obama, shown above is at least honest; he doesn’t insist that he loves and respect America while he undermines her.

The same cannot be said of the veracity of many US Olympic athletes, such as this guy is named “Shaun” below… very sweet; and look how well he dressed to represent his nation, our nation…. awesome, dude. Still, I care very little.

But readers over 50 may notice that he has wadded up the flag that has flown over blood-soaked soil around the world as a symbol of our determination to defeat our enemies and ensure victory and freedom…. he’s wadded it up, upside-down and backwards.

Here is proper respect for our national colors by generations of Americans who actually accomplished something for their country, and we can never thank them enough; and if we could, they’d never hear us….. above the cheering for insignificant athletes unworthy of carrying the flag…. even if they knew how.

(Editor’s note) I am in the process of personally answering all the e-mails, texts, comments and cards from LM31 readers who have responded to the death of my father, JD, who passed away Feb. 13.

And I want once more to thank everyone publicly, and again marvel at the charity, respect and affection a group can create even though most of us will never meet in person.

I cannot imagine this happening among the readers of Daily Kos, or the Huffington Report; the hate gets in the way every time.

Dad was a faithful reader of this blog (after Carol printed them out for his later reading); this both amused and touched me. Sons always appreciate a father’s praise.

It was a fine turnout last Saturday on a very cold day in Gillette, Wyo.; the average age of attendees was perhaps 45-55. That in itself was a tribute to a 83-year-old “Grandpa” with a knack for mentoring young men.

The number of mourners at most funerals for that age group are small given that the guest of honor has outlived most of his peers. A grandson, Chris, summed it up best: “What do I do now? My best friend was 83, and now he’s gone.”

The church music was great; country western hymns—”How Great Thou Art”, “Amazing Grace”—that have real meaning for working class American families; I noticed myself, Uncle Gene, and a few others tapping our toes in the amen pews.

Dad crossed over in a suit, no tie; with notes from family and friends, his 50-year Masonic lapel pin… with 20-some welding rods among the floral spray, and his welding gloves.

He’ll need them, The Boss is always looking for a good welder.

Well, we can forget Romney all together for 2012 because he has already endorsed McCain’s re-election. This despite the fact that the senior senator from Arizona is the poster boy for everything that’s wrong with the GOP, and it’s puny, flaccid, token opposition to the socialism of America.

Purge… ? No big tent…? No hands across the aisle…? No “mavericks”?
