Money is key in the business world and this latest post runs you through the ways in which the use of LED lights can effectively save you money year on year. Continue reading →

The aim of most businesses is to make money. Finding more cost effective ways to run your business can help you save money on your overheads, giving you a bigger profit margin. We here at LED Ecolite explain some ways that our LED High Bays and Panel lighting can improve your business.

• LED lights are extremely low maintenance, which is what you will be looking for with large commercial buildings such as warehouses, offices and workshops. They have a longer life than standard lighting, which means as you no longer need to change them as regularly, you will be saving money.

• As LED lights require less energy to power them, you could be saving money on your electricity bills. With the amount of fittings it takes to light larger areas, this could add up to a large amount.

• We understand that the lighting you need, will depend on the nature of your business. For businesses that have areas that are not in regular use such as break areas, toilets and offices that are not occupied all day, it may be beneficial for you to install occupancy sensors. These can work over the whole building. When there has been no activity for a period of time, the lighting will be automatically switched off to save you money. We also offer dimmer and standard lights.

• Standard lights radiate a considerable amount of heat, and if there is a large number of fittings, the area can get extremely warm. This can result in the overuse of air conditioning and cooling systems. Our LED lights give off very little heat so you don’t have to worry about this problem.

• Not knowing how many fittings you need to light a certain area is common problem for many businesses. If you can provide us with the measurements of an area, we can provide you with the recommended fittings for that space. By knowing this in advance you won’t purchase too many or too few, saving you money and time. We also work to regulations set out for the type of work is carried out, whether it is a warehouse or an office.

So if you’re looking to make the switch, LED Ecolite can provide LED Lights for all your commercial needs. Whether it is High Bays, Panel lighting or any of our other fittings, make sure we are your first port of call.
If you're thinking of switching from standard lights to LED lights you probably need a good reason. We here at LED Ecolite have got a few good reasons for you. Continue reading →

LED lights are fast becoming a cost effective source of lighting for many home owners. There are a number of reasons why you should consider switching from the more traditional light bulb to LED lights.

Cost Effective – LED lights can last 25% longer than standard light bulbs, so you won’t need to change them as regularly. Although they are initially more expensive than a regular light bulb, the money saved from replacing them adds up to quite a bit.

Less Energy – LED lights use 75% less energy than regular lightbulbs, this again can help save you money on your bills as they will not use as much power.

Light Can Be Directed – With standard lightbulbs much of the light is wasted as there is no way to direct it, it emits light in all directions. With LED bulbs, the light is more directional and is more intense on the area where it’s needed.

Quality Lighting – The colour of the light is much better from LED lights. This in turn affects the aesthetics of your home, making it a more inviting place.

So if you want to save money and reduce the time you spend standing on chairs to replace bulbs, then switch over to LED lights and see for yourself what a difference they could make for you. We here at LED Ecolite can provide you with high quality lights at low prices. Call us today on 01509 218 963 or for more information contact us via our online form.

In today's society, being an environmentally friendly business is essential, and this post offers 5 tips for success in becoming more energy efficient. Continue reading →

When you hear about energy efficiency, you will more than likely link this to your home and how you can save money around your domestic property. It is however vitally important for businesses to save money where they can too, particularly in such a difficult economic climate where many companies are fighting to stay afloat.

In order to do this, one of the most effective methods is to become more energy efficient and detailed below are a few of the tips we at LED Ecolite feel you can utilise in your setting to become more environmentally friendly and save money at the same time;

1. First and foremost, of course, we would advise you to switch to LED lightbulbs as the money saved can be significant in contrast to more traditional alternatives. Whilst on the subject of lighting, attempt to get your members of staff to turn off all lights at the end of each day and when they are the last one to leave a room.

2. Make sure you regularly check your energy consumption levels, relating to electricity, gas and oil, so you know exactly what you are paying for and aren’t working to estimates.

3. Try not to heat spaces that are unused or are rarely used throughout the day as this will simply be a waste of energy and money. In locations where there is likely to be a heavy amount of work, heating can be turned down as your employees will generate their own heat as they work.

4. Ensure air conditioning systems are maintained on a regular basis to guarantee they perform efficiently. As we head towards the warmer months, this system is likely to be in use more often so you don’t want it to be wasting energy.

5. Clean your light fittings on a regular basis, perhaps when you are replacing traditional bulbs with LED alternatives, as dirt is recognised as reducing lighting efficiency.

Hopefully the five points detailed above have you given you a few ideas as to how you can start to become a more energy efficient business, and remember, for all your energy saving LED lightbulb needs, make LED Ecolite your first choice!

Detailed within this post are three things you really need to know about LED lighting which will help you to see how beneficial it can be in your property. Continue reading →

We always like to help out our customers wherever we can, and for those of you who are a little unsure about LED lightbulbs and some of the information surrounding them, we thought we’d detail three things you need to know in order to develop your understanding. Read on to find out more and of course, if you do have any further questions, our team are always here to offer our expert assistance;

Lifespan

The lifespan of LED lightbulbs is a question we commonly get asked here at LED Ecolite and is one we are more than happy to answer. On average, an LED lightbulb is likely to last around 50,000 hours which in comparison to a standard bulb which lasts for around 1,500 hours is clearly considerably more. If you take the following equation that 50,000 hours equates to 27 years worth of lighting if used for 5 hours a day over 5 continuous years, you can see that an investment in LED lightbulbs is going to be well worth it.

Warm White vs. Cool White

We will help you choose a suitable lighting solution for you here at LED Ecolite, however the difference between warm white and cool white can be easily explained. Cool lighting is well suited to the workplace as it makes you feel energised, whilst domestic rooms such as kitchens and bathrooms can also utilise this level of lighting. Warm white is more suited to the rooms you relax in at home such as lounges and bedrooms as its red effect creates a warmer feel.

New Bulbs into Old Fixtures

One concern you may have is that your new bulbs won’t fit your existing fixtures however in most instances there is no need to worry. A large proportion of LED bulbs are designed to fit in the same fitting as the bulb that is being replaced, however if you are ever unsure, a member of our expert team will be able to help.

Whilst you might not necessarily have considered all three of these options previously, we hope that you now have a better understanding of LED lightbulbs and how they work so you can then come to us with a clearer idea on exactly what it is you are looking for and we can take it from there. We look forward to hearing from you.

Here at LEDecolite we find that the same questions come up time after time about our LED light-Bulbs. So to help our customers with a few of these questions we would like to answer some of them now for you.

Q) Why are your LED products so much cheaper than other suppliers

A1) We have a lot less overheads?

A2) We are not greedy in the profit margins we work to.

A3) We do not use fancy packaging as no matter how nice the packaging looks it will still finish up in the recycling bin.

Q) Where does your LED product come from?

A) All our LED products come from China. We use the American Bridgelux Chip or the Samsung Chip in all out products.

Q) How do I know what LED product to use and will I get the right wattage for the right application?

A) Here at LEDecolite we have engineers that work with RELUX to make sure that you get the right product for the right application. We will put together a lighting design to make sure you are not over sold our products.

Q) Can I have a sample to try first?

A) We do not give out free samples, we do allow a sale or return as long as the product is returned in perfect condition and original packaging. You will be responsible for the shipping.

Q) Can I buy on credit?

A) We aim to keep our products as low as possible, this entails keeping a cash flow running smoothly. So if we were to offer a credit system then our prices would have to reflect this, which would mean a rise in prices. So we do not offer credit.

LED light bulbs are becoming a more and more regular feature within the workplace. They’re being favoured in a wide range of working environments from factories and warehouses to offices and shops. Their popularity within the workplace is due to the great benefits they can offer a business:

Money Saving:

LED light bulbs are an incredibly cost effective method of lighting the workplace. Replacing your current lighting with these new LEDs may seem like a costly process at the outset however the money you can save through using them far outweighs the initial payment. The standard light bulb will typically last between 1,000 and 2,000 hours compared to LEDs that will last on average between 25-50,000 hours so replacement costs will be very low.

Carbon Footprint:

In this day and age a good reputation doesn’t simply come from good customer service and quality products, the modern company also needs to show that they’re eco-friendly too. An excellent way of boosting your green reputation is to switch to LED light bulbs, not only will you be making long term savings on your energy bills and maintenance costs it will also reduce your carbon footprint.

Aesthetics:

LED light bulbs are an excellent source of light so for warehouses that operate 24 hours a day, good light is essential. LEDs can also make a decorative addition to your working environment whether you use them to illuminate conference rooms, shop floors and cabinet displays or even restrooms.

LED light bulbs are becoming an increasingly popular addition to both homes and businesses but why are they better than standard bulbs? Read on to find out Continue reading →

For years the standard light bulb would be a common sight in every household and commercial property but now in the 21st century we can see just how far the light bulb has come. In this new generation of light bulbs, LED’s are becoming increasingly popular. They are taking over the standard light bulb with more and more people choosing to use them in their homes as well as their commercial properties. But why are they becoming so popular, pushing the standard light bulb into the shade? Here at LED Eco Lite we’re here to shed some light on the matter:

Life Span:

For starters, LED’s have a big advantage over standard light bulbs when it comes to life span. LED light bulbs will typically last between 25,000 and 50,000 hours compared to incandescent light bulbs which will last around 1,000 to 2,000 hours.

Compact Size

LED light bulbs are much smaller and therefore can be used in more applications, from lamps to spotlights. In fact LED’s are particularly great for use in spotlights as they sport unidirectional light. Whereas standard bulbs will emit light in all directions, often wasting light, LED’s can be used to focus on specific parts of a room or objects where light is needed most.

Practical Advantages

LED light bulbs are one of the safest options when it comes to lighting. They don’t contain filaments so they aren’t prone to the common problems that a standard light bulb would be. LED light bulbs generate very little heat meaning they are safe to use both at home and in the workplace. They’re also able to endure strong vibrations from things like heavy machinery making them ideal for many industrial applications.

Energy Efficiency

The main advantage of the LED light bulb is its ability to save you money on your energy bills. They are up to 8 times more energy efficient than the conventional incandescent bulbs. Not only can you save money on your energy bills you will also save money on replacement bulbs.

Some people are put off by the expense of LED light bulbs but given the savings they offer and the fact that they last significantly longer than incandescent bulbs they really are a worthwhile investment offering long term savings.

Running a business is never easy, trying to juggle budgets and a team of staff whilst always working towards improving and expanding. But the last few years have been even tougher, with the double dip recession and public sector spending at an all-time low – it’s more important than ever to look after those precious pennies. But how can you hold on to those pennies and pounds when you’re running a business?

Go Green!

A common misconception is that going green will cost you money but in actual fact, long term it could save you a lot. It’s important to remember conservation is about doing more with less. Big projects like installing solar panels are more expensive so clearly have a longer payback time. However there are several things you can do which will cost you very little, and save you a lot in the long term:

Swap Your Light Bulbs:

Switching to LED light bulbs is a real money saver, they’re up to 90% more efficient than standard light bulbs, and it’s so easy to implement. Here at LED Ecolite we sell a wide range of LED light bulbs from LED tube lights which are ideal for the office environment to flood lights to add that extra layer of protection to your business during the dark winter months.

Re Use Your Paper:

It sounds obvious, but anything that isn’t confidential and doesn’t need to head straight to the shredder can be re-used, even if it’s to make notes on or take messages on the phone. Get as much as you can out of it before it hits the recycling bin. It may sound like a small thing to do but you’ll find yourself ordering less notepads and post it notes for the office. Another thing you can do to help reduce the amount of paper you use it just change the settings on your printer so that it prints both sides.

Turn Things Off!

Even though our parents have been nagging at us for years to do it we still have an annoying tendency to forget! Leaving computers on overnight is a really bad habit and can really bump up your electricity bill so make sure you turn off as many appliances as possible including your computers and lights, radios, laptop and phone chargers as well as any heaters or air conditioning units.

There are several reasons why we can bring these great low prices to you. We are asked time and time again why this is, well we have decided to list a few for you the customer to look over and then make up your own mind.

1) We have very few over heads so it keeps the product cost down

2) We do not keep a great deal of stock on the shelf as we believe in this current economic climate that “stock is dead money until sold”

3) LED products are improving all the time so old stock is more than likely yesterdays products and has been bettered.

4) We have ALL our products at the best possible discounted rates. The ONLY time we can offer better prices that those already listed is for higher quantities.

5) We work strictly as a Web Based company now, this has enabled us to do everything electronically. We do not have a showroom and everything is shown on line.

6) We have researched and continue to do so by making regular business trips to our manufacturers in the far east to ensure that we have the lastest the industry to offer in the LED lighting world.
