I've had several for a few years and they quit working so I am now replacing them. Quality of construction ok, I haven't had any rust problems with the outer case, but wiring connector does corrode and it is very dificult to repair. These things might cost a dollar to manufacture (including bulb), so there is a huge markup, but I didn't find any good alternatives.
Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>
Just the right amount of directional lighting along my driveway. I did have to upgrade my low-voltage transformer because I exceeded the number of lights recommended and learned (the hard way) that not all low voltage transformers are equal. I put the wire in conduit to keep the squirrels at bay, and the dogs from digging it up. That takes a little more work, and needed a T connector to raise from the ground and mount along the fence but that little extra cost, with the reasonable price of these lights turned into a first class project.

Best Deals for Malibu 8301-9400-01 7-Watt Low-Voltage Round Metal Surface Light

I received these lights when promised. The lights themselves are very cheaply made which explains the cheap price. The only real problem was that they have cheapened these up so much that I had to slice the existing cable to make the connection punch through. The connectors are terrible so make sure they work before you bury them or cover them under your wood deck like I did.

Honest reviews on Malibu 8301-9400-01 7-Watt Low-Voltage Round Metal Surface Light

I installed six of these on my deck more than a year ago. They installed easily and still look good. All six of them are still working perfectly, no bulb replacements or any other maintenance required.

Overall, I haven't had to think about them since they were installed. That's exactly what you want in this sort of product.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Malibu 8301-9400-01 7-Watt Low-Voltage Round Metal Surface Light

I have purchased several of these lights to add to an existing lighting system. By changing the bulbs to LED you can triple the number of lights that the system can support. These lights are very easy to install with two provided screws and the wire connections do not need any tools. I have several of this along my fence as the side of my house giving me good lighting for walking along the side of the home.

Cheap LUNE Mood Light - Alpine White

Customer Ratings:
List Price: $179.99
Sale Price: $159.99
Today's Bonus: 11% Off

How many different things can a light do? Quite a few! I am attaching a video which shows Lune light doing five different tasks.

✔ The first segment shows Lune light lighting wall art. The top of the light can be rotated and aimed at many different angles. The color changes totally change how the artwork looks. As the color changes it almost looks like the sail boat is moving.

✔ The second segment shows Lune light by itself as a modern shape sculpture. It would fit nicely in a modern style decor.

✔ The third segment positions the lamp to reflect from the wall silhouetting the pottery on top of by book case.

✔ In the fourth segment I put Lune light inside the china cabinet so it can highlight my holiday dishes.

✔ The final segment show this light as ... a burglar deterrent. As I was trying to find a perfect place for the light in my house it occurred to me that the color changes observed from the outside look like TV is on. I have been considering buying a FakeTV FTV-11 Extra Bright Burglar Deterrent which makes the house look occupied when you are away. The Lune light performs the same function but looks a lot prettier. When I am home the light decorates. When I am away it protects! The video shows what the light looks like from the outside. I aimed it at the wall near the window. Note that for burglar deterrent purpose I am using the light on a separately purchased timer so it comes on every evening like a real TV would.

I am also attaching a collage of 6 photos which you can find by following 'customer photos' link under the main photo.

✔ The first photo shows how the Lune light arrived it is very well protected by its packaging.

✔ The second photo shows the light and its power cord. The top section containing the light rotates 50 degrees in one direction and 240 degrees in the other direction. This allows you to select the angle of the light whether you want to light something on the wall, have the light reflect from the wall or the ceiling, etc. The cord is fairly short (56 inches), I really could not reach any of the location I wanted to place the light without using an extension cord. The plug is not polarized. The light is 7.5 inches tall, 8.5 inches wide, 3 1/8 inches thick.

✔ Photos 3 through 5 shows several different colors the light produces and how each shade changes the appearance of the room it is in.

The light has seven preset color options: 5 solid colors (red , yellow, green, teal, blue, purple, white) and 2 changing colors (fast fade 1.5 seconds between colors and slow fade 2.4 seconds between colors). My favorite is the slow fade.

It took a little practice to turn the light off and to change colors reliably every time. I found that capping the base of the light with my open palm works best for me. To turn off the light I hold my palm in place longer, to turn on and change settings hold my palm in place briefly.

I received a sample unit for providing an honest review be it positive or negative. I have no financial interest or business relationship with the manufacturer, and this review represents my independent opinion of the product.

I really like the Lune light not only because it looks good and is a conversation piece but also because it can serve many different functions including making my house look occupied when I am not there.

Ali Julia review
Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

This light is simply explained as beautiful. It is a round ring the can be adjusted into a different shapes and it has to power to output multiple colors of light. The lamp can be set to light up with one of seven colors from red, yellow, green, teal, blue, purple and white. You can even adjust the brightness of the light from very dim to very bright and you have almost infinite brightness control to set the mood you like for the lighting. The light can also scan the different colors of the light at one of two different rate settings where the color changes every 1.6 seconds or every 2.6 seconds.

The lamp is stylishly made and looks like a modern piece of art. It is available in Alpine White and Sparkling Black. This lamp is so beautiful and easy to use that I made a video of it in operation so you can see how nice it looks. It is ideal as a table lamp, a fireplace mantel lamp, an entry way lamp or put into any room where you would enjoy the effects of its light changing capabilities.

The lamp features a touch control sensor on the inside of the ring on the bottom that allows you to quickly set up the operation the way you want.

* To turn on the lamp just touch the inside bottom curve of the lamp.

* If the lamp is on then tap once to change the colors.

* To dim the color touch the control pad and dim the light brightness to your desired setting and if you go too far then just tap the control area and the color goes to full bright.

* To turn off the lamp continuously touch the control pad until the lamp turns off.

You can shine the light into the inner ring and it is beautiful but you can also rotate the Lune's rotary top. It will rotate 50° in one direction and 240° in the other to allow you to set the shape of the lamp and direct the light in the direction you want. The lamp can be bright in a dark room as the power consumption is 9 watts and it uses Dense Matrix LED technology. It comes with an AC wall power adapter that has a cord that is 58 inches long.

This light is a real conversation piece and it is quite sexy. It is a combination of a mood setting light and a stylish piece of artwork. If you are looking for something beautiful and unique then I recommend that you take a look at this. I rated it at 5 stars.

I was supplied a sample for test and evaluation and I promised only to provide a fair and honest review.

Best SureFire E2D Defender High-Output Self-Defense Light 60 Lumen Deals

<a href="
Customer Ratings:

To say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. I loved the crisp packaging and incredible design of this tool. With it's hard anodized aluminum finish, O-ring seals, Xenon lamp and metallic-vapor coated reflector this is easily one of the best flashlights I have ever owned. Because the Surefire E2D is a tactical light, it is held in an icepick fashion and operated by a tailcap switch. You push the button lightly for momentary activation or press all the way to leave on.

I'm a martial artist and I can attest to the importance of being able to effectively protect yourself without raising the eyebrows of the law. For those that believe in this, this is THE tool to own. The E2D is both a visual and impact weapon combined. The flashlight uses a Xenon bulb, a conductive gas bulb, the same ones used in projectors. At a blinding 60 Lumens (light intensity), it's enough to leave an assailant seeing stars while you get away. Should the need arise, the flashlight can function as a nasty Yawara stick. The Surefire E2D is armed with scalloped bezels, as sharp as screwdriver tips, at both ends that can be used for hammerfist and thrusting strikes. If you want to get a rough feel for what a hammerfist strike is like, take a metal or wooden rod, hold it in an icepick grip and slam it as hard as you can into something. More than likely it will leave a distinguishable dent. The only difference with the Surefire is that the scalloped bezels are fashioned like teeth to concentrate the power and even puncture the target. That's enough power to crack a skull, break bones and/or leave a nasty bruise. It's highly recommended you only use the flashlight in this manner when your life is in danger. Applying joint locks is not out of the question although the natural reaction for anyone is to strike first. For those trained in such styles, the E2D is a great pain compliance and control tool whereby the sharp ends of the scalloped bezel can be used to grind into pressure-sensitive and bony areas to subdue an assailant.

Lastly, the flashlight can also function as a fistload, reinforcing your punches in a self-defense situation.

With that being said, this flashlight is definitely something that should be looked into.
Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>
I always carry a nice pocket knife and a flash light .

I have the executive defender. I wish i had gotten a light without the sharp edges on it. I mean they aren't sharp like a knife, but in your pocket they don't feel good if you carry the light and reach in your pocket for change. I have had my light cut a hole in a pair of pants.

that being said, i love this light, the batteries don't last long, but i normally don't have my light on for an hour where i cant get to a fresh set of batteries.

my chief complaint

The belt clip cant compare to the one on my Benchmade knife.

Best Deals for SureFire E2D Defender High-Output Self-Defense Light 60 Lumen

If you are like our family we all hike, bike, hunt and camp as much as possible. The surefire defender is lightweight, compact and for the product you receive is very affordable. Once seeing the surfire defender you will want to purchase one for everyone in your family especially your female family members. The Surefire Defender is brighter than my Mag Light and easier to carry.

Honest reviews on SureFire E2D Defender High-Output Self-Defense Light 60 Lumen

Small, but exceptionally bright, this light outperforms any larger lights I've been able to match it against. Shining it on a huge eucalyptus tree outside our house, I'm able to see details at the top, something that no other light has allowed me to do.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for SureFire E2D Defender High-Output Self-Defense Light 60 Lumen

I own a 1/2 dozen surefire flashlights. This one is small, light, durable and bright. The striker bezel is a great impact weapon as well. I carry this one with me, all the other ones have their own places around the house and cars. If you can't afford this price point but need a bright flashlight, go with their G2 Nitrolon: for $35 it can't be beat. If you don't need the blinding 60 lumens this model provides but have the bucks to spend, then take a look at the LED models they offer such as the L1 LumaMax or E2L Outdoorsman; They don't provide the high intensity, but the batteries last much longer and their slightly higher price pays for itself in battery cost and replacement bulb cost savings. Nothing beats a Sure-Fire flashlight!

CONOCO Piano Lamp Adjustable 19" LED Piano Lamp, Wood w/Brass Accent

For this price, this is a handy and portable little Maglight with plenty of power. The case is great because you can hold the light & the next back-up battery in with it! Perfect for a glove box or purse, or even first aid kit! Used a few times at night on walks, and its not super-powered, but definately enough to help you see what you are doing!

Review of Super Bright 3800Lm 3X CREE XM-L T6 LED Flashlight Torch

Customer Ratings:
List Price: $88.99
Sale Price: $42.39
Today's Bonus: 52% Off

Cons:

1)It arrived without the extension tube which was prominently featured in many of ePathDirect's stock photos. The phrase "Additional aircraft-grade aluminum alloy tube, Support a 296mm long outdoor extended flashlight," led me to believe the product was bundled with the extension tube. This means the flashlight can only accommodate the 2 battery configuration at roughly 230mm.

2)Also missing was the third battery. Not only was the battery also featured prominently in the photos but it was listed under ePathDirect's description of "what's in the box."

Pros:

1)The product arrived very quickly, 2 days ahead of schedule.

2)It did turn on. It's bright. Retina-cooking bright.

3)The batteries are labeled on their jacket with "no memory effect, short circuit, overcharge and discharge protection." (No listing agency is marked however.)

(The lumen rating doesn't appear to be ANSI lumens, but some other lumen standard. The brightness is less than what Americans would consider 3800 lumens, but I don't have a meter, so I don't exactly what the difference is.)

For the price this is still a decent purchase. It comes in at about a quarter of the price of comparably a bright Surefire. Which is to say, "bright enough that I would be comfortable performing a fair amount of surgery under it." The case is solid, with less parts to loosen, rattle, break, or otherwise confound operation than some other knockoff flashlights. The untreated, unprotected glass lens makes me worry since I plan to treat this flashlight about as well as it's price commands and no better. But for the cost, I'll make a replacement if I have to. By including the charger and batteries ePathDirect made bundling the right parts foolproof. Minus one star for a misleading listing and another for the missing parts.

EDIT:

1 star now.

The light failed after less than one hour of use. It no longer turns on when I press the button. It flickers on if I shake, or occasionally stays on if the light is pointed directly at the ground. So minus another star for build quality. I contacted the seller about the missing battery and extension tube. The customer service representative, Jenny, told me that, "We have checked our sku and listing. It seems that other seller changed the listing. The item we listed was a flashlight without the extended battery." Obviously as of April 6, 2012 that is an out-and-out lie. If you are here today or before (or perhaps after) the listing includes language for both the third battery and an extension tube to accommodate it. Her response only says "extended battery." I don't know if that means "third" battery or extension "tube" but I doubt she meant to address both missing pieces with that sentence. Minus another star for customer "service." If you get a working light with all the pieces and don't need to contact customer service you've got yourself a 4 star product considering the price. I have also started working with electronic circuits these things are tiny and precision on these is measured in millimeters so I also needed a magnifier. With that said getting both items in the same package was just a bonus. The light is bright the magnification glass is clear and easy to focus where I need it. And the LED lights don't heat up like halogen. The only thing I would change is the Magnifier cover. There should be a way to keep it open without removing it from the light very minor but it is annoying.
Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>
Excellent light for my work desk. The only low reviews talk about the battery. I wanted a non chargable, light weight, high beam light that was 12 volt and pluged into the cigarette lighter of a vehicle. The unit meets all of those requirements. I can carry this unit in my vehicle and not have to worry about charging it before I use it. It even comes with a carrying case and an extra bulb. I would recommend this light to anyone with those requirements.
Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>
I bought this for a replacement for my parents old Brinkman that they've had for years! Extremely lightweight as well. Very pleased!

Honest reviews on Brinkmann 800-2301-0 Q-Beam Max Million III Spotlight

This product was given to me as a gift by one of my photography students. It seemed like overkill (it is extremely bright) so I thought I'd probably seldom use it for the one application I had in mind: Using the light to "paint" subjects in night photography. But I must admit it does a great job with far off subjects. For example it lit up the entire length of a 718 foot long bridge on the coast of Big Sur, California and a waterfall some 500 feet away. Since it's a halogen bulb in a photograph the light is a pleasing warm color rather than the blue of a high lumen LED flashlight. Indeed the light looks like sunlight.

I've paired the spotlight it with a "Jump Start" battery (a 12V booster battery with a cigarette lighter connector) to make it a portable unit. I prefer this arrangement to one with a built in (heavy and wimpy) battery. With my 8Ah battery the thing ran for about an hour in total and the battery still had plenty of spunk left.

My two complaints are that the unit is a bit bulky and the cord is just a tad too short. But it is a light light :-) with lots of zip. I also like that "beam/spot" operation where pressing the trigger changes it from a narrow beam spot light to a wider beam floodlight though not dramatically wider.

PS I guess you could say the unit paid for itself because that waterfall with Milky Way picture (see the product pictures) has been a big seller.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Brinkmann 800-2301-0 Q-Beam Max Million III Spotlight

Purchased this light for when I go hunting. I was looking for something that can be plugged into the car charger, has a long enough cord to use out the window, and was bright enough to see in the bushes at night. They put out a nice warm light and are almost as bright as the halogens they are replacing. The other users comment about the beam being too focused may be a problem for his application, but for all of mine, it is not an issue. Especially when in a ceiling. By the time the beam reaches the ground the beam is quite nicely diffused.

This would probably not be a good choice for a unit close to something underneath it, like a table or a counter top. Unless you are looking for more of a spot light type look. I would estimate the beam coverage at 36" away from the fixture to be about 26".

The fact that they use 90% less energy and produce virtually no heat is a definite plus for me as well.
Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>
THESE BULBS WORK WELL, DIM WITH A REGULAR 100V HOUSEHOLD DIMMER, AND HAVE A FAIRLY 'WARM' COLOR. The original incandescent bulbs burned out at different times, so I have been experimenting with different LED GU10 replacements. These bulbs work, but are about a quarter (1/4th) of an inch longer (from base to front) than other LEDs I already had in place. These bulbs also flickered visibly for the first two days of operation, but then stopped flickering and seem to be working well now. The lights that these bulbs emit is similar to my other higher-priced light bulbs -it's not brighter, differently colored, nor weird in any way.

I will probably purchase these bulbs again.

Honest reviews on Onite 2 x Dimmable GU10 LED Light Bulbs High Power Spotlight

I ordered six of these for track lighting. All six worked right out of the box, and seemed to be a "whiter" light than the halogens they replaced. Like other LEDs, they're power-efficient and don't heat up as much as halogens. I didn't have the humming or flicker that can happen with LEDs. The only reason I didn't go 5 stars is I *just* got them; I like everything so far; they'll probably pay for themselves in months from the electricity and air conditioning savings. They are a bit bigger than the halogens they replaced, but fit well in my fixture.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Onite 2 x Dimmable GU10 LED Light Bulbs High Power Spotlight

I got the bulbs in December and now have a failed bulb, and I hope there is a simple way for exchange and replacement.

I bought some different brands and this is the first failure. The light output from the frosted lens bulb is not quite as stunning as that of the clear lens version; however the frosted lens helps diffuse the intensity of the individual LEDs while an increase in power keeps the lumen output in line with the clear version. The output is most definitely in the soft white warm light range, but not too brown which is my typical complaint with most incandescents and many other LED bulbs. At 4.4 inches in length, this bulb is just ever so slightly longer than the incandescent bulbs it replaces, but for the majority of applications, I don't believe this will be a problem. One of the more impressive aspects of this LED bulb is it's virtual "instant on" performance, even when starting at a dimmed setting. Other LED bulbs I've tried to date have had much difficulty achieving this feat, but not this one!

From the aesthetic appearance point of view, I've been playing around with both the clear and frosted versions of this bulb and I can definitely say that which one looks best definitely depends on the application. For the clear cyrstal light fixtures on my ceiling fan, the clear bulb looks best... it's just a little "alien egg thing" looking during the daytime when it's off! Fortunately, the ceiling fan is up pretty high, so you're generally not starring at it when it's off; however, when it's on you can't help but stop and gaze in awe at the awesome display the clear version puts on. So far, I've generally chosen the clear lens version of this bulb for applications in light fixtures with clear glass/crytal shades (both exposed bulb and totally enclosed); however, the frosted version just seems more appropriate to me in more opaque shade applications where the bulb is exposed to view. Though I haven't verified my suspicion yet, I'm thinking I'll be going with the clear bulb for totally enclosed opaque shades as well to optimize efficiency as the frosted bulb dissipates more power for the same lumen output as the clear. Again, the frosted lens seems best for exposed bulb applications where the frosting results in a bulb outline illumination when it's on and helps hide the alien nature of the internals when it's off.

By the way, the ability to use this bulb in totally enclosed light fixtures is one of the features that sets this bulb apart from others. Many other LED bulbs may only be used in limited orientations or in open/ventilated fixtures. Per the manufacturers instructions, this bulb is "Suitable for use with dimmers," "Suitable for damp locations," "Suitable for use in enclosed luminaires (fixtures)." The box states that this bulb "Operates in any direction and in any fixture: open, recessed, or enclosed."

As with most LED bulbs, this one is somewhat heavy and thus weight may be of concern for some more fragile light fixtures.

Other equivalent wattages (40, 75, and 100) should be along soon as well...

Actually, some of the others are already out and here are some product links:

SWITCH SWITCH60 12 Watt 2700K Warm White Clear LED Light Bulb 800 Lumen

SWITCH SWITCH75 20 Watt 2700K Warm White Frosted LED Light Bulb 1100 Lumen

SWITCH SWITCH75 18.5 Watt 2700K Warm White Clear LED Light Bulb 1100 Lumen

SWITCH SWITCH40 8 Watt 2700K Warm White Frosted LED Light Bulb 450 Lumen

FYI: The Switch 40 and 60 are both supposed to be around 4.4" in legth while the switch 75 and 100 are supposed to be around 4.9" in legth... so the higher output bulbs will increase the bulb size which may be a concern in some applications.

Now, if you happen to be in the market for a good non-dimmable vanity globe type LED bulb, the Tuwago LED Globe Bulb has got to be the one to beat. They're ever so slightly larger in diameter than the typical globe type bulb, but they're absolutely awesome. Here's the product link:

Tuwago 9.5W Globe CREE® LED Bulb Warm White 2700K

UPDATE 02 FEB 2013:

As I've noted before in one of my other reviews, one of my primary concerns with LED bulb adoption has been the inability of companies to provide a consistent product in both form and function over time. In an exposed bulb application, I'd at least like all my bulbs to look the same and at some time in the future when one of my LED bulbs fails, it would be nice to know that I'll still be able to get a replacement to match my original bulbs in which I'm heavily invested. Given the history of the LED bulb industry to date, I'm concerned that this is a long-shot bet given the rate at which products have been appearing and disappearing. In the case of Switch Lighting's bulbs, I'm hoping that they invested heavily enough in their initial design so as to need little physical design change down the road; however, only time will tell whether that's truly the case. Of course, I also have to hope that the company manages to make a sucessful go of this and stay in business... or, if not, at least sell the design off to another company who will continue with the design. Beyond formfactor though is the realm of functional performance which I believe will be a challenge for all LED bulb companies, including Switch.

One would like to hope that a company can produce a consistent product with consistent performance; however, there are many technical complexities such as maintaining consistent LED sources, component sources, and so on. Unfortunately, I think evidence of this concern can already be seen in inconsistencies I've already found with Switch Lighting's initial product offerings. Specifically, there already appears to be two different Switch60 bulb designs in circulation. In purchasing the Switch60 frosted bulbs whose packaging declares a 13.5W power consumption, I've discovered that some of the bulbs are actually marked as 14.5 Watt on top of the bulb itself... and these bulbs do seem to produce a slightly different light output color than those appropriately marked as 13.5W. And a quick comparison on one of Batteries Plus's power meters does show a watt or more difference in power consumption between the two Switch 60 frosted bulb designs. Additionally, in my experience, the 14.5W marked version of the Switch 60 produces a slighly more "brown" output than the approprately marked 13.5W version... which is how I discovered the existence of the two different design versions. In fact, you can see the 14.5W version of the bulb yourself by simply taking a close look at the bulb pictured on EarthLED's website... zoom in on that picture of the bulb-top labeling and you can clearly see that the pictured bulb is actually labeled as 14.5W instead of the advertised 13.5W... all of which leads me to question exactly which version you would receive if you were to order one. Again, you have to get the picture directly from EarthLED's site to see this as the picture posted here on Amazon is too low resolution to be able to make out the labeling. Same sort of thing is apparently going on with the clear bulb as well.

The Swith 60 clear bulb is advertised as 12W power consumption; however, as with the frosted bulb, there is also a version floating around with a higher 13W rating. I can't really comment on any output color difference between these bulbs as I've not really had them in close proximity; however, I can verify that both the 12W and 13W versions exist as I went back reviewing my prior purchases of clear bulbs for inconsistencies as well and guess what? My original purchase of four clear bulbs I used in one ceiling fan application are all labeled as 13W while three additional bulbs purchased later for another ceiling fan application are labeled as 12W. Though I no longer have the packaging for these bulbs, I'm pretty sure their packaging advertised a 12W power consumption, not 13W. I've also since seen the 13W clear bulbs in BatteriesPlus stores with packages that state 12W. Unfortunately, the store didn't have both bulbs available at the same time to allow me to perform a similar power consumption comparison, but I'm betting I would likely have seen an actual 1W or better difference as noted in the frosted version. Ironically, you can also see this 13W version of the clear Switch 60 bulb pictured on EarthLED's website which advertises them as 12W. Just zoom in on the clear bulb-top labeling currently pictured on their site as you will readily see the 13W labeling. Again, I believe the Amazon version of this picture is too low resolution to be able to do the same with it.

Is this really a big deal? Well, that's up to you to decide, but I personally feel the "inconsistent" product labeling and inconvenience of having to run around trying to get all my frosted bulbs to match so that they produce the same colors in same fixture applications is worth deducting one star from my original 5-star review... and it certainly doesn't ease my concerns over future product consistency... or over which product I'll actually receive when ordering any more for that matter...
Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>
Why spend so much on a light bulb? There are some major advantages to buying one of these lights that are detailed below.

Color Warmth: Compact fluorescent (CFL) bulbs often cast a rather sickly glow. They can feel cold and uncomfortable. I work in an office where a number of my colleagues choose to sit in the dark rather than work under the standard CFL tubes. No doubt we've gotten used to this since CFL bulbs have become the norm over the past couple of years. When you turn on a Switch, you will be transported back to a time when light bulbs emitted a soft golden glow. The experience is actually nostalgic, believe it or not. What's more, the Switch improves greatly on other LED lights which can emit a very stark light and do so in only one direction. The Switch casts soft light in all directions and offers a bulb without compromise. This is what a bulb is supposed to look like!

Longevity: If someone was to install a Switch on the day his or her child was born, he or she wouldn't have to change the bulb until the kid had graduated from college (based on the predicted life span of 22.8 years printed on the back of the Switch box). This ia simply a game changer in the world of lighting. This is a light bulb that could last longer than your lamp. This is especially helpful if you have a light fixture that is a pain to gain access to like in a ceiling lamp.

Safety: If a CFL breaks, it's almost like having to deal with a haz mat spill. Just look up the recommended way for cleaning up a broken CFL online. Mercury is seriously toxic, and even if your CFL doesn't break, it still may end up in a landfill where the mercury could poison the ground water. A Switch, on the other hand, does not contain mercury. It uses food-grade silicone. If it breaks, there is no need for panic. Yes, you're out some money, but your health will not be at risk.

Low Operating Temperature: Some people think LEDs don't give off heat. In fact they do...quite a bit. Switch bulbs are the first UL-listed bulbs that are liquid cooled. This means you can put them into enclosed lighting fixtures without worrying about overheating. The silicone dissipates the heat so that they can stay cool. Try touching an incandescent bulb after it's been on for 30 seconds. Then touch the Switch. You'll know the difference immediately. Additionally, most LED bulbs have trouble working in very hot environments. The Switch can operate in temperatures up to 113 degrees Fahrenheit. This means you can install one outside and not worry about whether it will overheat (unless, maybe, you live in Death Valley).

No Warm-up Time: If you use CFL bulbs, you know that they start out pretty dim when you first turn them on. It may take up to a minute before they reach peak luminosity. In contrast, the Switch bulbs light up immediately. In fact, I've detected the bulb being a little brighter for the first half-second that the bulb is on. Then it returns to it's normal light level.

It Just Looks Cool: You might have seen a Switch and thought that it looks bulky and would seem out of place in your home. I thought that too, but honestly, the metal base pretty much disappears even in fixtures where the light bulb is clearly exposed like in inverted bathroom fixtures. Even if you could see it, it would still look cool. Reviewers have described it as having an art deco look, and I can definitely attest to the fact that it looks great when installed.

The Bottom Line: Yes, this is a lot to spend on a light bulb. Switch is slated to be releasing more cost-efficient light bulbs called Afinia bulbs later in the summer of 2013. Even so, I'm certain that you won't be disappointed in buying this bulb. I've already started to replace all the bulbs in my house. Not all of us can be early adopters of fantastic new inventions, but this is one situation where almost all of us can be. Plus, this light bulb will likely be the last one you ever buy.

Best Deals for SWITCH Lighting A22141FA1-R Classic A19 LED Light Bulb with 60-watt

Maybe these are technically 2700K and test to that in a lab, but in my house they seem to be noticeably cooler in color than say the phillips 2700k LEDs.

The idea behind these bulbs is great for enclosed areas. I hope they continue to improve the color.

Cheap Tess 12W Daylight White A19 LED Light Bulb 1000 Lumens, Replaces

<a href="
Customer Ratings:

This bulb is the best I've owned... Three of these bulbs installed in Home Depot's Hampton Bay White 3-Light Ceiling Spotlight (It appears to be the same product as the Angelo Brothers 66326 Three-Light Multi-Directional Ceiling Fixture) worked perfectly. Energy usage was reduced from 80 watts to 36 watts, lighting was much better (even though total lumens were slightly less) since the 3 spot lights could be directed to give more even lighting. No buzz, no UV, better lighting, longer lasting, and power savings that should pay for the bulbs and light fixture....it seems like an obvious choice to replace the fluorescent lights. These LED bulbs produced a white, day-light brightness, that is very much like the fluorescent bulbs they replaced, so I'm very satisfied with my selections. I'll have to let you know if they fail before the more than 20 year-life I expect out of them....

Hint: If you use the three-light fixture, remove the black baffles in each spotlight; it will provide for a brighter, more even lighting with these LED bulbs.

Best Deals for Tess 12W Daylight White A19 LED Light Bulb 1000 Lumens, Replaces

This product was very competitively priced and was delivered very quickly. it gives off a very bright light for the wattage. I specifically chose this lightbulb because of the 75 watt equivalency. This bulb produces less light than your average 40 watt bulb and therefore is not worth the money. I hate to say it, but it looks like I'll be switching back to the cfl bulb and putting this one in the pantry.

Lite Source LS-165PS Eye Halogen Clip-On Lite, Polished Steel, GU10

The first thing I did was take off the cage around the light. I know it's there for safety reasons but it really gets in the way. I love the lamp because it clamps on to most table fairly easy. It's well constructed. I have bent them into tons of shapes and haven't broken them yet. I have a display at a trade show and I can direct the bright lights where I need them the most. I do have to say that the light gets very hot (thus the cages) but I always tell people not to touch them. I did bake an apple with one once! It was delicious. I teach drawing class and had the light on an apple for about an hour and it cooked it!
Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>
This lamp won my heart from the moment it emerged from the box. After trying many, many clampand gooseneck-lamps throughout my life, at last a winner!! This lamp is made of heavy-duty metal parts, so has enough heft to feel really sturdy (no horrid, flimsy plastic clamp on this item!). The clamp is both strong and well-designed: it opens wide enough to attach to a thick table or shelf (1 1/4 inches thick is about ideal--see my photograph) and its pads are well-placed -unlike some clamps, in my too-vast experience, which are placed such that they actually hinder the proper grip rather than help it. The gooseneck is strong enough to hold up its own weight without moving so much as an INCH; it is infinitely adjustable, allowing the finest degree of control, without sagging or springing back into some default position. I have tried "professional" architectural drafting lamps whose clamps and adjustability absolutely pale in comparison to this one. Buck up and spend the money on this item: it will last and last, and will prove to you how excellent a product this is. Highly recommended for both craft projects and reading. All bulbs were the same G8 size; there was even a quality control slip in the box indicating that they were checked. The light is well matched to my other bulbs in color tone (a bit on the warm side, not a cooler light like a xenon bulb). The only issue is that I received frosted bulbs; the picture indicates clear bulbs. This was not a problem in my application (I imagine that they ship both). For the price this was a great purchase. Yes, the bulbs are made in China, but so are most of the other options, like the Feit bulbs.

Best Deals for Anyray® A1700Y (12-Pack) 20 Watt G8 20W 120v Halogen Light bulb

Not a whole lot to write about here. Even more elegant and classy in real life the photos here don't do it justice. It's heavy glass, and the light it emits is perfect for reading or adding beautiful lighting to a room. The Heath/Zenith 5316 sensors were problematic from the start and were too unreliable to give real peace of mind for their coverage areas. Various weather conditions would make them stop working altogether. The local home improvement and hardware stores only carry the Heath/Zenith products or the same products under a different brand name, but fortunately we're no longer at the mercy of the local store and what they have in stock.

I have both of my Cooper MS180Ws installed and both are working perfectly. I've had chances to test them in weather conditions under which the Heath/Zenith units failed (cool and/or very humid) and they continued to work flawlessly. They are a bit physically larger than the Zenith 5316 but this is apparently to accomodate an oversized lens, which I have to believe helps with it's more consistent detection range and ability. This unit has a brighter, round LED located on the bottom and works opposite of the Zenith model. The LED stays on constantly to show that the unit is in the "armed" condition and blinks off when motion is detected. Also, unlike the ones they replaced, these units make an audible click when triggered, meaning they probably have a more robust relay than the Zenith models. The best part is that they're reliable. I now feel confident that the areas these units are monitoring are protected, and that's the main purpose for me.

I would absolutley recommend this unit to everyone looking for a low-cost, reliable motion sensor and would definitely recommend it over it's competitor's weak offerings.
Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>
Mounted this motion sensor 9ft off the ground to control three 10 watt LED flood lights mounted around the perimeter of my sun deck and carport to provide security lighting to my deep back yard and back laneway. Has been in use for two weeks in cool Fall weather and several wind storms. The motion sensor works well, except I find that the sensing range is only about 35ft (not 70 ft) regardless of how I position the unit. As I have a deep back yard (about 80 ft from edge of sun deck to back lane), I was hoping to have my back yard light up when someone/thing begins to enter my back yard.

Best Deals for Cooper Lighting MS180W 180 Degree Replacement Motion Security

Excellent product. I was really surprised at the sensitivity and distance that the unit responds to motion of large animals and humans. And the unit does not pick up the motion of tree limbs blowing unless they are pretty violent. The 4 minute and 12 minute settings are just great for me and I like the option of having it come on permanently.

Honest reviews on Cooper Lighting MS180W 180 Degree Replacement Motion Security

I purchased two of these and they both were faulty. Lights came on and off all times of the night for no reason. Had the sensor set on the lowest setting. I ended up not using them.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Cooper Lighting MS180W 180 Degree Replacement Motion Security

Bought 2 for different locations with existing outdoor paired flood lamps that are switch operated. Replacing the electrical box cover with a 3 hole model allows the sensor to be mounted to the side or the middle of the lamps. Along with motion sensing this unit had daylight/night sensors to eliminate daytime activation. Easy to install but may need short extension tube for wires for positioning of sensor and clearance from lamp housings. Note, there are 2 colors to choose from with Amazon.

Discount Inglow CG10026WH8 Flameless Tea Light Candle, White, 8-Pack

<a href="
Customer Ratings:

The safety benefits of a battery-operated tea candle are incontestable. You can leave them on if you are are leaving the room for more than a couple of minutes. You don't have to worry about falling asleep.

I have several glass or crystal tea candle holders I use around the house. You need to be aware that even though these Inglow flameless candles are advertised as "white" in the description, they are more yellowish in person (as can be seen in the picture). This will affect the appearance and often not replicate the look you are used to with a real tea candle. What I did is develop a set of tea candle holders that look nice with the battery-operated device, and for special occasions i still use the traditional light.

On the plus side besides the safety aspect:

these last about two days of continuous use before they start fading (it will take at least 4 days before they die out completely)

they can be put in spots where there is not enough clearance to safely put a traditional candle, like on bookshelves

On the negative side:

the battery compartment opening mechanism is very cheaply designed. It is the kind where you use the side of coin to rotate the compartment until it opens. But instead of screwing into the back of the candle, the lid is secured with two little pieces of plastic that break very easily. It would have worked much better to have a lever you can press to release the lid like in other models

Useful product, but on account of the light not being as white as stated, and the poor battery compartment opening mechanism, I give it 3 stars.
Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>
The flames break off incredibly easily. I bought these to use with my homeschool kids to make astronomy crafts. I don't expect them to be super durable for the price, but I knocked one of the flames off and I was not being rough at all. I do expect to be able to reuse a product that I buy specifically for its reusability. I won't be purchasing these again if we need LED tea lights.

Best Deals for Inglow CG10026WH8 Flameless Tea Light Candle, White, 8-Pack

I LOVE these flameless candles! There is a small battery on the back of each candle which lasts about 60 hours. I have always enjoyed having lit candles throughout my apartment, however, I always worried I would fall asleep while they were lit. With these flameless candles, no more worry and you can't tell the difference!

Honest reviews on Inglow CG10026WH8 Flameless Tea Light Candle, White, 8-Pack

I bought two packs of them and they are all in use in various candle holders and vases of colored glass. They're particularly nice because they can be placed wherever you like with no fear of damage from heat or wax, to either the container or the furniture.
