Moving on from the last post, where I took a day trip to Scarborough for the day with Mels parents, I actually took a few shots of them during the day. Trying as hard as possible for them not to notice me most of the time, because they are camera shy, especially Keith. I would say most of the shots were probably screwed up faces and frowning at me through the lens....hoping they don't end up being photographed, unlucky for them then, as I got a few decent shots that I can share.

They had me dodging in and out or trees/grass and all sorts to get just one shot. It was worth it in the end anyway.

I definitely think next time will be much easier for them, after they see some of the shots I got of them. I thought I would share some of them with you on here.
Only getting married in December myself, I found that throughout the day, even though a lot happened, the emotions and happiness that flows through not just yourself, but everyone, is like magic.

For a photographer, it is their job to capture the joy and emotion through the day. Some say this is the easier part of the day and the technical part is the most challanging.

But many forget that for about a year before, there was a lot of planning and shouting discussions leading up to the big day. Flowers, rings, earings, shoes, bracelets, hair, makeup etc all needs planning, and its these little details that make a wedding so special for the bride and groom.

The photographers job is to capture these small parts of the day, so that for years to come, the bride and groom can look back and remember every part of the day.

I have been busy with plenty of things so Photography took a back seat for a little while, but I am still pushing on for portraiture practice and I got the chance two weekends ago.

It was glorious sunshine, but not ideal for portraits because it was a bit harsh. I prefer the early morning or golden hour light, it gives a bit more texture to everything.

Family portraits are great, and most families tend to forget about getting them done while the family are together. Why not get some done yourself with a memorable time having your portraits done while you go out on a family day out?

Get in touch if you might be interested.

Tower Bridge brightens my day !

Some great tips from plenty of different sources today. I work over London Bridge so I get the delight of walking over it everyday to work, but I have to ask, has anyone seen the wonderful view the past few days? Its a fantastic place for sitting and thinking and enjoying the sea/sun/sand.
I took this picture because it gives me a sense or security for some reason, like I am 10 again playing on the sand with everyone.

Great days they were, as this was.

Lee
City of London

 Lloyds building
Originally uploaded by LeeMo's Photo's.
Hey people, I am back on it again. It's been a while since I last posted, but I have been really busy with the band recently so I haven't managed to get out and take some shots. This weekend I managed to get into town with a friend, who just bought their first DSLR like me. We took a walk around the square mile, and Tower Bridge South Bank to see if we could catch any nice shots. The weather was pretty good (first time in a month) so I got quite a few. This is the first one of the series. There will be more posted on flickr during the next week or two.

Any comments would be welcomed.

Cheers, Lee.
Promo Echotone

 echotone
Originally uploaded by LeeMo's Photo's.
The weekend saw another rehearsal for my band echotone. This week we decided to try and shoot some promo shots for the papers and the website, since we hadn't done any since Mel and Paul had officially joined. So as I haven't got a tripod, James brough his along (video camera tripod) but accidentally left the converter to my camera at home. Sooo, we had to balance the camera on some bags which were perched on the end of a caravan in the middle of a caravan park.

We found an old barn door made of metal, and was rusting to bits. We set the camera to 10 second delay, and took over 60 pics, out of them all this was the best.
I think next time I will purchase my own tripod and do it properly, but considering, I think this came out quite well. Check out the sites in the links to the right.

Lee
Angel of the North

 Angel of the North
Originally uploaded by LeeMo's Photo's.
This weekend I was up North to see melanie's parents, and we decided to make our way to Newcastle to check out some synthesizers for the band. I managed to grab a fewphotos which are on flickr, but this one was my favourite. Taken from the car as we went past. This was actually Melanie's shot, as it was on her side of the car. I did a small amount of photoshop on curves, but it came out really well.

Good shot Mel !
Melanie Oh Melanie, the Tatoo lady !

 Melanie B&W
Originally uploaded by LeeMo's Photo's.
My first portrait, and it was girlfriend Melanie. This guy is not famous but had a hit back in 1978 with "really free". Well I say a hit, it got to number 27 in the charts. Anyway, I saw him last night and was hoping to get some pics with the new lens. Unforunately, as it was packed it was impossible, as I got there late from work. So I just took a few pics of the pub, check out flickr for some.
Sweet smell of Apple

 Sweet smell of Apple
Originally uploaded by LeeMo's Photo's.
Well this is my first shot with the new lens(canon 50mm f1.8).
