Hey everyone,

I recently attended Randy Smith’s Northallerton Meet Up and boy I’m glad I did.

THE MEET UP

Randy holds these meet ups mainly on the first saturday of the month in a function room at a local pub close to his home in the lovely town of Northallerton, North Yorkshire, here in the U.K.

He keeps the meet ups very informal, which I liked by the way. There is no razzmatazz or anything like that, just great valuable content.

Attending these sort of events are a great way to meet other like minded internet marketers who are either at the same stage as you or at the stage you want to be.

Great friendships can be made, you can get advice and learn from others, you have the opportunity to showcase your sites and products, generate ideas for future products and gain JV partners for future promotions just to name a few things.

So I think you can see that attending these events is a ‘must’ and offer great opportunities to move forward in your business.

My advice is this – “get to an event like this sooner rather that later“, you will be glad you did.

If not Randy’s meet up, maybe you can look into finding other internet marketers in your area and hold the same sort of monthly get together.

SO ONTO THE DAY ITSELF

This was the first time I had attended anything like this since I started my online journey. To be honest I really didn’t know what to expect and I must admit that I was a little nervous travelling down to the venue.

On arriving I soon spotted some familiar faces and it wasn’t long before everyone else started arriving and I spotted even more familiar faces.

It wasn’t long before I began chatting and soon the nerves completely disappeared.

After a bit of chat and saying hello to everyone we made our way up to the function room.

The first thing I noticed was the very warm and friendly atmosphere and I settled in right away.

I sat down with my notebook in hand, not believing that I was actually in the same room as these other successful marketers.

The day started with Randy introducing himself and he then asked everyone to do the same, introduce ourselves, mention any sites and products we had and the stage we were at in our journey’s online.

When it was my turn I did have butterflies in my stomach but I was so at ease I didn’t find it a problem.

We were also asked to come up with a question for a Q&A session later in the day.

After a short break all of our questions were answered by either Randy or some of the other experts in the room and everyone benefitted from what was said.

Before the end of the day there was a final networking session and more chatting but all good things must come to an end and sadly it was time to leave.

It was a great day had by all and I said my goodbye’s and left for the journey home.

This was my first meet up but it will definately not be my last.

THE LOWDOWN ON THOSE THAT ATTENDED

RANDY SMITH – Obviously I will start off with the host of the show. Made it a great day for everyone, a great and friendly guy. Well known for his ramblings over at his blog. Has a great membership site with Craig Dawber, check it out at INTERNET MARKETING APPRENTICE.

JOHN THORNHILL – John has been a big influence in my journey so far and I was actually starstruck when I met him – it was like meeting someone famous. I have access to almost every product and ebook John has made and love his teaching style. Check out his coaching at JOHN THORNHILL’S MARKETING MASTERCLASS.

SALLY NEILL – Loveable and very friendly. She is a fellow former Alex Jeffreys student and is known as the ‘Blog Hopping Queen’ – if you have a blog, she has no doubt dropped by and left a comment on one of your blog posts. She was actually working for our mentor, Alex, but only a few months ago decided to go her own way and is doing great for herself. She has an awesome following at her blog SALLYNEILL.COM and is currently in the process of starting her own coaching course.

KEITH PURKISS – Another former Alex Jeffreys student, he is the ‘go to’ guy on listbuilding using JV giveaways. He has just released a great product with John Thornhill called PUSH BUTTON GIVEAWAYS 2.0. I am actually using it to build my list using giveaways and is a great product that automates the process of joining them with ease. Go and check it out.

CRAIG DAWBER – A great, friendly guy who runs INTERNET MARKETING APPRENTICE with Randy.

TERRY DOLLARD – He was the ‘techie’ of the group and is known for creating great plug in’s. He is teaming up with Randy on the membership site NICHE MARKET PLR, go check it out.

Some of the other attendees –

JOHN REED.

So just to summarize, I strongly advise that if you haven’t done so before to start attending meet ups or seminars to meet other internet marketers in the flesh, or if you are confident enough to start hosting your own meet up in your area.

You willl be glad you did.

Thanks for reading,

Hey everyone,

basically this new blog post is all about me starting over and making a fresh start in the world of internet marketing.

I must be honest and admit that 2010 didn’t go exactly as I had planned.

After work commitments and family life I found I had no time at all to do anything internet marketing related and sadly because of this my blog became neglected and setting up an online business and getting it off the ground became non-existent.

BUT HERE IS WHERE ALL OF THAT CHANGES.

After suffering from information overload, a lack of focus and a lack of direction, I have now corrected all of these problems and have a rock solid plan of action to get things moving in the right direction.

I still have Alex Jeffreys as my mentor, but now I am also closely following John Thornhill, Dave Nicholson, Daniel Sumner and Randy Smith, and like me all hail from the North-East of England (in Randy’s case, close enough).

I am tired of all the hype in internet marketing at the moment and these guys are all marketers who I can trust, they are all very successful and have been for a number of years and I would recommend their products to anyone.

Recently John and Dave had a promotion running called ‘72 Hours Of Complete Madness’ which was basically both of them selling most of their products for $97, which I thought was pretty awesome so I bought straight away.

I also took the upgrade (‘72 Hours Of Beyond Madness’) to get access to most of their high end products and both packages also came with numerous bonuses too.

CAN YOU GET ANYMORE AWESOME THAN THAT?

Yes even more awesome than that was their bonus for Michael Cheney’s ‘My Millionaire Mentor’ which had a value of just over $22K (yes that’s $22K) and this was for buying a $37 dollar product through their link.

I couldn’t believe my eyes and I couldn’t click my mouse on the ‘buy now’ button quick enough.

So I now have access to nearly everything that John and Dave have ever produced and I am learning some awesome stuff.

MY FIRST GIVEAWAY.

My next step that I have been looking at to build my list is entering as a contributor into JV giveaways.

I have kindly been given full access to ‘Push Button Giveaways 2.0′ by a fellow former Alex Jeffreys student, Keith Purkiss.

This is his new venture with John Thornhill and it is a solution to enter into JV giveaways with ease and it’s not even released until next month.

I actually joined my first giveaway yesterday, and it is being run by Kerry Russell, who is also a fellow Alex Jeffreys student.

I noticed her post in Alex Jeffreys’ students forum looking for contributors and I decided to jump in straight away.

I think Kerry is still taking contributors, so if you want to get in by all means do so Here.

Or if you want to just get some free gifts then Click Here.

Anyway I will keep you posted on how things are going.

COMING UP!

In the coming weeks and months I aim to share with my blog readers and subscribers hints, tips and strategies that I think will help you.

Also what is working for me, what isn’t and also writing product reviews on my blog, amongst other things.

So stay tuned to find out what I am up to and success for me will be success for you.

FINALLY.

Finally before I go I just want to say a big thank you to Jacinta Dean.

She was a student of John Thornhill’s and I was looking around on her blog.

As I was in the process of updating my own blog with a new theme I noticed there was something she had done on her blog that I wanted to do with mine, so I decided to contact her to ask how to do it.

Instead of trying to explain how to do it in an email she actually made a 13 video stp by step tutorial series using Camtasia. I thought this was an awesome gesture and I couldn’t thank her enough.

She told me that she had been meaning to do some video tutorials for months but never got round to doing any, so I was the kick up the butt she needed.

Anyway as a follow on from this and to gain more practice and experience in making Camtasia tutorials, she is offering to make a tutorial for anyone who comments on her recent blog post with a question.

This maybe someting like how to install and configure a plugin etc.

Here is a link to the post, just Click Here and tell her I said hi.

Anyway thanks for reading, feel free to leave your comments below and remember ‘SUCCESS FOR ME IS SUCCESS FOR YOU’

Lee Scott.

Information Overload is a major problem to anyone new to Internet Marketing and most ‘newbie’ marketers suffer from it at one stage or another.

I know because it has happened to me, and yes it has probably happened to you too.

The fact is that I am subscribed to so many other marketers lists that I recieve maybe 100-200 emails every day, sometimes more.

It would take me hours to go through all of these emails, which is time lost doing productive tasks and stopped me from moving forward.

On my computer I have numerous courses, ebooks, video tutorials, audio interviews and along with all of the daily emails, I felt as though I was being bogged down and staying focused was becoming a major problem. This in turn was making me fall way behind in my journey to online success.

I found I was trying to do a million things at once and I didn’t know which way to turn and which direction to go next.

So one day I just thought to myself, “enough is enough, this has to stop and I won’t let this get the better of me”.

I have come up with 6 simple tips to stay focused and overcome Information Overload.

#1 – Come up with daily, weekly, monthly, even yearly plans full of prioritized tasks and don’t be distracted from getting these tasks completed.

#2 – Focus on one task at a time and don’t do anything else until that task is completed. Remember, as my mentor Alex Jeffreys says “Don’t become a busy fool”.

#3 – Try to prioritze your time the best you can, even if it’s minimal. Remember, doing something productive is better than doing nothing at all.

#4 – Use a free Google Mail account for only subscribing to offers and free ebooks. This leaves your primary/personal email from constantly being clogged up.

#5 – If needs be, schedule only around one hour or so each day and nothing more to check emails.

#6 – Start unsubscribing from lists whose emails you never read, this will free up your inbox and your time. Then you can concentrate on the productive tasks.

So fast forward to today, I have become super focused, I am alot more organised, I have a plan of attack and my determination to succeed is greater than ever.

This way I am getting back on track, keeping things moving forward and I’m now heading in the right direction.

I can’t stress enough and urge you to stay focused and don’t let Information Overload get the better of you, like it did me and together we will succeed.

Thank you,

Lee Scott.

He is not asking for any tell a friend of even an OPT-IN

He is experimenting with a new type of Social Viral Marketing that appears to get him backlinks to his site just for sharing the word.

Best Internet Newsletter

This seems to be the truest form of Viral marketing I have seen yet. It uses social media and blogs to get the “news” out about something rather than Tell-A-Friends etc.

But the main thing I want to share with you is that you can get 3 Kick-Butt copies of his latest newsletter and you don’t have to pay $89.00 to get it.

Just click the link below and it is yours Free!

P.S. – Even if you THINK you are not interested in his newsletters (Which are pretty good from what I see) I suggest you give it a shot for 2 reasons. 1- You may be surprised at the quality. And 2- Wait until you see how he is trying this new viral marketing.

Thanks,

Everything that I tried just didn’t work, so I decided to do a little more research on Google which lead me to a site and then editing my comments.php file.

I first of all copied and pasted the file source code into a Notebook document and saved it into a file named ‘leescottblog’. I then set about editing the comments file as instructed on the site I found on google.

The editing fixed my Gravatar problem but when I visited my site, somehow the comment form at the foot of my post had disappeared. I next copied and pasted the file source code saved in Notebook, but on my site the form was still missing. As I had just started commenting on other blogs and in forums I needed this solving as soon as possible to get comments and visitors to my site.

Just by luck I stumbled upon a site that was using the same theme as me and the owner had experienced the same problem. I was pointed in the direction of a great little plugin going by the name of ‘IntenseDebate’ that solved all of my commenting problems.

The plugin can be found at http://www.intensedebate.com. Here is a small statement from the plugin site – IntenseDebate Comments enhance and encourage conversation on your blog or website. Full comment and account data sync between IntenseDebate and WordPress ensures that you will always have your comments. Custom integration with your WordPress admin panel makes moderation a piece of cake. Comment threading, reply-by-email, user accounts and reputations, comment voting, along with Twitter and friendfeed integrations enrich your readers’ experience and make more of the internet aware of your blog and comments which drives traffic to you!

The plugin is also fully customizable and has a wide variety of options to configure such as blog settings, comment layout and you can also get comment widgets for your blog.

I hope this post provides valuable help for someone, if not now but sometime in the future.

Thanks

Lee.

First of all I want to welcome you to leescottblog.com.

Yes I can’t believe it myself, I have finally got my blog working correctly and looking the way I want it. It is such a relief that after weeks, if not months that I am finally here writing this first blog post.

My journey into the world of internet marketing began in early 2008, when before my daughter was born I found I had some spare time when I wasn’t at work.

So I began to do some research online looking for ways to earn some extra cash and this eventually lead me to internet marketing. Over the following months I began to subscribe to mailing lists, aquire free ebooks, software, video courses and some paid courses.

But once my daughter was born my spare time became less and less, to the point where my internet marketing activities were non-existent.

As my spare time became a bit more frequent I began my journey again and this is when I came across the name ‘Alex Jeffreys’ and boy am I glad I did.

I was already subscribed to the mailing lists of some of his previous students and knew first hand what he had done for them. I already knew that to succeed online I needed a mentor and when in November 2009 I began receiving e-mails notifying me that Alex was re-opening his coaching program, I couldn’t move fast enough to get on the course.

I am using this blog as my base to document my journey to online success under the guidance of Alex Jeffreys. I aim to post on a regular basis of hints, tips, what works for me, what doesn’t work for me and any other relevant information which I think can help you too.

In the coming months I aim to write an ebook and have a squeeze page for it to enter into JV Giveaways to start building my list. Also I want to start attending seminars to gain further knowledge and to meet Alex and my fellow students. Further along on the journey I aim to quit my normal job, do this full-time and to be running a successful business online.

Please have a look around my blog and your comments and suggestions would be most welcome.

So watch this space and join the jorney with me and remember “success is the only way”.

Thanks

Lee Scott.
