to the other side. The LA Times reports that US officials are surprised that al Sadr is supporting the Iraqi government's US-backed security plan. Well, why wouldn't he? The US hung his Sunni oppressor and put his tribe in power. What's not to like? Who wouldn't want the IEDs and carnage to end? Especially someone who has his hands on the tap of $500 billion in future oil revenues.

Nope. Bushco refuses to talk to anyone. That's because there will be no resolution to the conflict in Iraq so long as Cheney's plans to subdivide the oil reserves among the Seven Sisters (or is it now 5?) remains in place. Calling Al Gore. Al Gore, please come to the party...

Only no one expected it to happen so fast. Libby was gamed by Cheney. There's a Cheney memo that clearly establishes Cheney as the one who outed Plame (possible a treasonous offense). Not bad for the first day. By the time this thing is done, we just might find out who Jeff Gannon/Guckert was servicing in the White House more than 200 times a year.

PS. On blogging fatigue...we all have it and it's natural after living in a parallel universe for more than 6 years. I've been guilty as well, for a number of reasons. But things are heating up. Tonight's SOTU will be memorable for its banality on the one hand and the utter brashness of its delusionary leader on the other. So stay tuned. Unless they close the joint, I'll be here as much as is possible.
