LCW Showdown at the Chase Television Special Official Preview

This Saturday, November 7th, an event rich in tradition returns. LCW Showdown at the Chase is back and, as always, is dedicated in loving memory to Sam Muchnick, the well loved and highly regarded promoter from the St. Louis area as well as a former NWA President. What will the LCW Legends be prepared to do as they enter an event that everyone wants to be a part of? Let's take a look at the card...

Wildfire Tommy Rich vs. Hollywood John Tatum (with Missy Hyatt who will be locked in a cage at ringside) in a first blood match.
At LCW Showdown at the Chase, Wildfire Tommy Rich and Hollywood John Tatum will be waging a war unlike anything seen before between the two. Meanwhile, Missy Hyatt will be locked inside a steel cage at ringside. These two were former stable mates, in a stable known only as Hyatt International. The stable, however, broke down and Rich split ways with Tatum and Hyatt and feuded with fellow stable mate Austin Idol as well. This Saturday at LCW Showdown at the Chase, the two will compete in a first blood match. The only way to win is to make your opponent bleed! Who will wear the crimson mask this Saturday?

LCW International Champion Dr. Death Steve Williams vs. Bill Goldberg.
At the LCW Night of Horrors pay-per-view last month, LCW International Champion Dr. Death Steve Williams and Bill Goldberg engaged in a battle which will be remembered by LCW fans as a classic. Even with Williams being re-diagnosed with cancer, he still fought Goldberg – who is a tough opponent on his worst day – and gave the performance of his life. In recent weeks, Williams has been defending his title non-stop, like many other champions in LCW, and has felt that Goldberg has been trying to help him unnecessarily. These two then got embroiled in a fist fight, which will once again intensify this Saturday night. Who can come out on top, and will Goldberg come out LCW International Champion?!

LCW World Tag Team Champions The Bass Brothers vs. The Nasty Boys vs. Cowboy Bob Orton and Dirty Dick Slater in a triple threat match.
LCW World Tag Team Champions The Bass Brothers may have jumped out of the frying pan into the fire, as they have a night off from defending their titles in the Showdown Championship Draft Series, but will, instead, defend their titles against two of the toughest tag teams on the block. The Nasty Boys, who are former LCW World Tag Team Champions and are, in fact, the men the Bass Brothers won the championships from. Similarly, Cowboy Bob Orton and Dirty Dick Slater are no strangers to gold, as they held the LCW United States Tag Team Championships on two separate occasions. Which of the three teams can come out on top in this triple threat match?!

Ivory vs. Jacqueline vs. Spider Lady vs. Luna Vachon in a fatal fourway match with the winner going on to face Madusa later in the evening for the vacant LCW Women’s Championship.
The LCW Women's Championship returns this Saturday night, when four ladies – Ivory, Jacqueline, Spider Lady and Luna Vachon – all compete to face Madusa in a match for the reintroduced title. It was LCW General Manager Harley Race who made the decision that, in fairness to the fans after several requests, it was only right to bring the title out of retirement. Over recent weeks, Ivory, Jacqueline, Spider Lady and Luna Vachon had won qualification matches after being four of the eight women to win a 20-woman battle royal to compete in the tournament to determine who would advance to the fatal fourway match.

However, after the fatal fourway, the winning combatant will not be done for the night. They will then compete with the last LCW Women's Champion before it's retirement. Madusa, a three-time WWE Women's Champion, former WCW Women's Champion, and even a former WCW Cruiserweight Champion, will prove to be an incredibly tough challenge for anyone wanting to lay claim to a title she stil considers to be hers. Who will win the fatal fourway match, and can they defeat Madusa later in the night?!

Bret Hart vs. Dynamite Kid.
Thanks to the LCW Showdown Championship Draft Series, Dynamite Kid cockily defeated Bret Hart in a classic match to win the LCW Heritage Championship in a 20 plus minute classic. The week prior, Kid attacked Hart in the locker room. However, this feud has been raging for a few months, as Kid blamed Hart for being attacked in the locker room, even though another member of the former Hart Foundation, Jim Neidhart, admitted to it. Kid would lose the Heritage Championship just one week later to Macho Man Randy Savage. And his night would only get worse as LCW General Manager Harley Race announced a non-title match for Showdown at the Chase between Kid and Hart. Which one of the two will come out on top?!

LCW Universal Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Sid Vicious in a stretcher match.
At LCW Showdown at the Chase, bitter enemies LCW Universal Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin will take on Sid Vicious in a stretcher match. These two would have met at LCW Night of Horrors – thanks to Vicious winning the Survival Project in September – but Vicious took Austin out of action with a powerbomb on the steel entrance stage. Magnum TA defended the title on behalf of Austin, but Austin managed to cost Vicious the title match thanks to interfering. Vicious was persistent in getting his title rematch, and eventually, LCW General Manager Harley Rave agreed to the match. After Vicious was insistent on putting Steve Austin on a stretcher, Race had an epiphany... he made the match a stretcher Match. The stretcher match is one of the hardest matches in wrestling history to rmerge victorious from. It's grueling and it's career shortening, as the only way to win is to wheel your opponent up the ramp on a stretcher. Over recent weeks, Austin has proved his will as a champion and his fighting spirit overcoming people in the Showdown Championship Draft Series and proving that he is the LCW Universal Champion for a reason. But can he do it this Saturday at LCW Showdown at the Chase, or will Vicious be walking into LCW Showdown this week and defending the title, instead of Austin?

[Breaking News] Brutus The Barber Beefcake Released From LCW Contract

As first reported on LCW's Official Twitter account (twitter.com/lcwrestling), LCW has come to terms on the release of Brutus The Barber Beefcake. LCW wishes Beefcake the best in all future endeavors.

Beefcake, who was to receive a shot at the LCW Universal Championship this past Wednesday on LCW Showdown as a result of the LCW Showdown Championship Draft Series, was unable to face LCW Universal Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin and was instead attacked by Sid Vicious, Austin's opponent at the LCW Showdown at the Chase television special this Saturday.

Beefcake is a former LCW United States Champion and LCW Television Champion and has been with the company since its inception in 2005.

It is believed that this is the first of several releases expected as a result of Hulk Hogan's signing with TNA. Stay tuned to LegendsWrestling.com as we'll have more on this story as it continues to develop.

LCW Showdown Television Official Preview 11.04.09: Continuing to Fight!

As LCW rolls into another week of LCW Showdown, the Legends roll into another week of title defenses and we all take one step closer to the LCW Showdown at the Chase television special this Saturday. This week, Stone Cold Steve Austin defends the LCW Universal Championship against Brutus The Barber Beefcake and a new champion puts up... but will he get shut up?!

Will The Barber Cut the Title from Austin?
Brutus The Barber Beefcake is next in line for a shot at the LCW Universal Championship thanks to the Showdown Championship Draft. Beefcake is no stranger to championships, having once held the WWF Tag Team Titles, and several LCW titles including the LCW International Championship, but it would truly be a massive achievement should Beefcake be able to win the LCW Universal Champion on this night. Austin, however, may not be in top physical condition heading into this match, as he was brutally attacked by Sid Vicious last week on Showdown with a stretcher. As they prepare to meet in a stretcher match, some are questioning whether it's wise of Vicious to attack Austin.

This Could Get Nasty!
This week, LCW World Tag Team Champions The Bass Brothers face, perhaps, their toughest challengers to-date with the Showdown Championship Draft when they face the the Destruction Crew, Wayne Bloom and Mike Enos. The Destruction Crew are former AWA World Tag Team Champions, but have never held the LCW World Tag Team Championships in spite of coming close last year. Will this be their night? With the Nasty Boys and Cowboy Bob Orton and Dirty Dick Slater awaiting the winners at Showdown at the Chase, will it be more than their careers are worth for either team to want to win this match?

Dynamite Momentum
This week, the first man to force a title switch in the Showdown Championship Draft, new LCW Heritage Champ Dynamite Kid will take on a former, multi-time, multi-company World Champion, the first LCW Universal Champion in history, Macho Man Randy Savage. Kid won the belt defeating Bret Hart in a 24-minute classic last week on Showdown, and was ever confident about this match. But can the Macho Man take the title from the ever talented Dynamite? Will we get a repeat performance from last week, by way of another classic this week? Tune in to find out.

The Story of Death, a Butcher, a title and an angry Goldberg!
This week, LCW International Champion Dr. Death Steve Williams defends his title against Abdullah The Butcher. However, last week, Williams and his Showdown at the Chase opponent, Bill Goldberg, erupted into another brawl as Williams felt that Goldberg was trying to help him. This is sure to explode at Showdown at the Chase, but will Williams' being distracted by Goldberg cost him the belt?

Unstoppable
It would appear that LCW United States Champion Diamond Dallas Page is unstoppable. Last week he ran through Austin Idol and this week he looks to do the same against Stan Hansen. What makes matters more interesting is that Page doesn't boast, brag or even speak on his victories, he just gets things done. Can he do it again?!?

[Breaking News] Hulk Hogan Signs with TNA Wrestling

The biggest name in professional wrestling history, Hulk Hogan, is joining Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling (TNA), the fastest rising wrestling organization in the world and home to one of cable television’s highest rated shows for young men, TNA iMPACT! The announcement was made today by TNA Wrestling in conjunction with Spike TV at a press conference held in New York City.

“Hulk Hogan is one of the world’s top pop culture icons and the biggest superstar in the history of professional wrestling. We are truly excited to welcome him into the TNA family,” said Dixie Carter, President of TNA Wrestling. “Our goal is to become the world’s biggest professional wrestling company. Hulk defines professional wrestling and we look forward to partnering with him in a variety of ways as we continue to grow TNA globally.”

“I’m thrilled to be jumping back into the world of professional wrestling,” said Hogan. “My fans have been asking me to return to the business for many years on a full time basis, but the timing or the opportunity has never been right until now. TNA Wrestling is a great company with an already excellent fan base, business and broadcast partner. I firmly believe now is the time for some change at TNA as they are positioned to jump to the next level in their development and I’m here to work with Dixie to help make that a reality.”

Through Hogan’s partnership with Bischoff Hervey Entertainment Television, the deal with TNA was negotiated by longtime Hogan colleague Eric Bischoff. Additionally, BHE TV has inked a first-look deal with TNA and will be working with the organization to develop new programming extensions of the TNA brand.

“Hulk Hogan adds yet another level of star power that positions TNA iMPACT as Spike TV’s version of ‘Must-See TV’ on Thursday nights,” said Kevin Kay, president of Spike.

Hogan most recently penned an autobiography with Mark Dagostino, “My Life Outside The Ring” with St. Martin’s Press.

Superstar Billy Graham Calls Ted DiBiase a "Hypocrite"

WrestleZone.com's Nick Paglino recently had the opportunity to sit down with LCW Legend Superstar Billy Graham this past weekend in New Jersey for an exclusive interview. The following is a clip from that interview in which Superstar Billy Graham talked about Ted DiBiase, who currently works for WWE and is the father of Legacy's Ted DiBiase, Jr. Graham shoots on DiBiase explaining why he's a hypocrite and why he never wants to see or talk to him again.

After seeing the video, LegendsWrestling.com contacted LCW Founder Christian Calaway for comment and Calaway said simply, "I couldn't agree with him more."

LCW Showdown Television Official Preview (October 28, 2009): Championship Draft Series Continues

The LCW “Showdown Championship Draft” continues to roll along as LCW heads into another week of Showdown, the champions of LCW have another set of challengers awaiting them this week. But with the LCW Showdown at the Chase continuing to draw a bit closer, not all minds are set on the Showdown Championship Draft, as we'll see in this preview.

Universal Pain:
This week, LCW Universal Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin takes on Kevin Sullivan with the title on the line. In the last two weeks, Austin has put down “The Raging Bull” Manny Fernandez and “Dangerous” Dan Spivey in championship competition. However, experts say that Austin's head may not be in the game, as he also has a Stretcher Match with Sid Vicious at the LCW Showdown at the Chase special to worry about. Can Austin retain the title with his head thinking about Vicious?

A Fantastic Opportunity:
This week, the Bass Brothers put their coveted LCW World Tag Team titles on the line against the Fantastics. The Fantastics are a team with heritage dating back to 1984, and could easily pick up tag team gold this week. However, like Austin, the Bass Brothers have a very big match, a Triple Threat match, for their gold at the LCW Showdown at the Chase television special. They, too, may not have their head in the game, but with Maw Bass at their side, you could be rest assured that they'll get it together and do what it takes to retain the belts.

Death Defending:
This week, LCW International Champion Dr. Death Steve Williams attempts to battle back the challenge of one “Magnificent” Don Muraco. Last week, after successfully retaining the title against One Man Gang, Williams had a physical confrontation with the man he has a rematch with for the title at Showdown at the Chase, Bill Goldberg. Williams goes into his title defense this week preparing for a “Showdown” at “the Chase”, but where will Goldberg be?

Family Feud:
LCW Heritage Champion Bret Hart will, thanks to the Showdown Championship Draft, defend his title against a man he once called family, the Dynamite Kid. Last week, Kid attacked Hart in the locker room, promising to take the title from, "the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be." But can Dynamite, who turned on Bret Hart earlier in the year with Jim Neidhart, take the title from his one-time friend?

3rd time's a.... BANG?
Austin Idol, a former NWA Georgia Heavyweight Champion and NWA National Heavyweight Champion, looks to capture the LCW United States Championship from a man who has really been on a roll lately, LCW United States Champion Diamond Dallas Page. Page has looked impressive for the majority of this year, with his alliance with then-Chairman Ted Turner, winning the LCW King of the Legends and then becoming United States Champion. Some say Page is unstoppable, but can he prove that to be the case?

LCW Showdown Television Official Preview: Championship Draft Series

Last week on LCW Showdown, a Draft took place. No, this was not a split-brand draft, but the “Showdown Championship Draft” where every championship had challengers drawn for the next ten weeks of LCW Showdown. While the champions now know what challenges are ahead of them for the next ten weeks, they now have to defend those titles every week for the next nine weeks. This week, the innovative concept continues.

Universally Respected:
Stone Cold Steve Austin has earned universal respect from the members of the Legends Championship Wrestling fan base. He may be a loud-mouth at times. He may be a little rough around the edges. And his talk may make network producers cringe, but one thing no one can ever deny, is the Texas Rattlesnake's heart and desire. This week, the current reigning LCW Universal Champion will defend his title against the Raging Bull Manny Fernandez. However, Austin has two other opponents to worry about, on top of his Showdown Championship Draft Series opponents. Sid Vicious – a man he meets at LCW Showdown at the Chase on Saturday, November 7th, and Magnum TA – a man he meets at LCW Redemption Day on Sunday, November 29th. Can Austin stay focused on all of the challenge ahead of him?

International Mayhem:
Dr. Death Steve Williams earned the admiration of everyone around the world when he put on the performance of a lifetime at LCW Night of Horrors two weeks ago against Bill Goldberg. Now, the LCW International Champion will try and hang on to his gold when he faces One Man Gang this week on Showdown. Gang is, without a doubt, a unpredictable force to be reckoned with in Legends Championship Wrestling. Will Williams be able to keep his belt, and will Goldberg be at ringside, or even anywhere near, this week?

Will Garvin Feel The Bang?
LCW United States Champion Diamond Dallas Page will attempt to force former NWA World Heavyweight Champion Ron Garvin to feel the bang in another Showdown Championship Draft match this week. Can Garvin upset Page to win the LCW United States Championship as he did Ric Flair in 1987 to win the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. Last week, Page battled back the challenge of Iceman King Parsons, but can the current King of the Legends go 2-0 in the Championship Draft Series?

Bret Hart's Battle:
This week on LCW Showdown, LCW Heritage Champion Bret Hart defends his title against another former NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Wildfire Tommy Rich, in what should be a classic confrontation. Last week, Bret Hart won out against Tito Santana in his first title defense in the Showdown Championship Draft Series, but can he do it again?

World Tag Team Turmoil:
Last week, LCW World Tag Team Champions The Bass Brothers overcame the Bushwhackers in a title match as part of the Showdown Championship Draft Series. This week, they face a much more daunting challenge when they take on former WWE World Tag Team Champions The Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff. Can the Bass Brothers overcome another obstacle, with LCW Showdown at the Chase looming over them, where they'll defend their titles in a triple threat match against former champions the Nasty Boys and long-time rivals Cowboy Bob Orton and Dirty Dick Slater?

STAMFORD, CT – Shane McMahon, Executive Vice President of Global Media, announced today he has tendered his resignation effective January 1, 2010.

Shane stated, “It has been an incredible experience to help build WWE® into a global phenomenon. However, having been associated with this organization for the majority of my life, I feel this is the opportune time in my career to pursue outside ventures.”

“Even though I am personally saddened by Shane’s decision to leave the company, I am proud of the enormous contributions he has made. He will unquestionably bring passion, commitment and extensive business experience to any endeavor he pursues,” said Vince McMahon, WWE Chairman and CEO.

It is with great sadness that I announce my resignation from the WWE effective January 1, 2010.

I have never even considered a future outside the walls of the WWE. However, sometimes life takes an unexpected turn and while it is the most difficult decision I have ever made, it is time for me to move on.

You are truly the engine of the organization and it has been a pleasure to work with, learn from and get to know all of you. [In Memorium] Capt. Lou Albano (1933-2009)

World Wrestling Entertainment was saddened to learn of the passing of one of the company’s most popular and charismatic legends, “Captain Lou Albano.” WWE extends its deepest condolences to the Albano family.“

Captain Lou” was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 1996. He performed for WWE from 1983 to 1996. Albano began his storied career with Vincent J. McMahon in the 1960’s as one half of “The Sicilians” tag team with his partner, Tony Altimore. He will be greatly missed by the WWE and his fans.

In Legends Championship Wrestling, Albano spent some time during the early days of LCW as a manager and leader of the group "Albano's Army." LCW Founder Christian Calaway said of Albano's time in LCW, "He was an integral part of our early years and it wouldn't have been the same without him. He made a tremendous impact not only on this company, but all of wrestling. He was a truly a legend in every sense of the word and he will be greatly missed."

Tonight's episode of LCW Showdown will be dedicated in memory to Capt. Lou Albano.

UPDATE: A private wake will be held at Balsamo-Cordovano Funeral Home in Carmel from 2PM to 4PM and 7PM to 9PM Friday. A funeral Mass will take place at 11AM Saturday at St. James the Apostle Church in Carmel. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to WrestlersRescue.org. WrestlersRescue.org is still collection donations to be forwarded to the Albano family for remaining medical and funeral expenses. Any money left over will be going into a fund for a donation to an alumni in need through Wrestlers Rescue in Albano's name.

Albano recently released his autobiography, "Often Imitated, Never Duplicated" (review) with a foreword by Cyndi Lauper, who used Albano in her popular "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" music video. Albano's involvement with Lauper brought publicity to pro wrestling during the "Rock 'n Wrestling" era of the early 1980s as Vince McMahon took WWE national with the first WrestleMania.

LCW Showdown Television Official Preview: Showdown Championship Draft?

Only three days removed from an amazing LCW Night of Horrors pay-per-view, Legends Championship Wrestling heads full speed into the “Showdown Championship Draft,” a new, innovative concept that we have yet to get full details on.

Showdown Championship Draft:
At the LCW Night of Horrors pay-per-view, legendary commentary duo Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko talked about a concept so revolutionary that it would literally change Legends Championship Wrestling, and the direction the company is set to go in. It's called the “Showdown Championship Draft” and while not many things are actually known about new concept, we're set to find out this week on LCW Showdown. But we want the following questions answered: What is it? Who does it involve? Why does it contain the word “draft” when LCW doesn't have split brands?! All these questions are hopefully going to be answered this Wednesday on LCW Showdown.

Magnum vs. Austin:
Magnum TA is credited for many things; surviving a horrific car accident, having one of the most storied and meteoric rises to fame that Legends Championship Wrestling has ever seen, and being the longest reigning LCW Universal Champion in the company's history. Stone Cold Steve Austin is a man credited for single handedly putting the infamous Attitude Era on the map. He is the current LCW Universal Champion. Some say that from the father, the son and the holy spirit comes a new trilogy: breaking glass, breaking records and breaking necks, which is what Austin was and still is to this day, all about. Now, these two forces will collide at the LCW Redemption Day pay-per-view because, Magnum successfully defended the Universal Title against Sid Vicious this past Sunday on behalf of Austin, with a title shot on the line for Magnum with the win. Magnum vs Austin is a dream match in the hearts and the minds of many LCW fans, and finally we're going to get to see it. But what will happen between them this Wednesday on LCW Showdown when the road to Redemption Day officially begins?! And will Austin be affected by the Showdown Championship Draft?

Match of the Year:
This past Sunday at LCW Night of Horrors, LCW fans were treated to a match that was one-of-a-kind from a competition standpoint, as Dr. Death Steve Williams managed to successfully retain his LCW International Championship against the one and only Bill Goldberg. Early in the night, Goldberg credited Williams not only as a man, but as a champion. Williams recently found out that his cancer has returned, but instead of forfeiting the match and relinquishing the championship like a lesser man might have, Williams stayed to fight. The two had a classic confrontation, lasting over twenty minutes, and causing the fans to hang on to their every action. Williams even had the opportunity to end Goldberg in the middle of the ring while the official was unconscious, and Goldberg had the opportunity to take advantage of interference from LCW United States Champion Diamond Dallas Page. Neither man took advantage of those opportunities and instead showed respect for their opponents by keeping the match honest and fair. Heading into LCW Showdown this week, with Williams still champion, and everyone unsure of how Goldberg feels about Page involving himself, as well as the mystery of the Showdown Championship Draft, no-one's sure what to expect of the champion. Find out this Wednesday.

Final Eight:
In the twenty-woman LCW Night of Horrors battle royal, we finally got ourselves down to the last eight Lady Legends who, this Wednesday on LCW Showdown will start a single elimination tournament to decide the four remaining participants who will go on to a fatal fourway match at LCW Showdown at the Chase on Saturday, November 7th, and then the winner of that match going on to face Madusa Micelli for the vacant title. The remaining eight are: Ivory, Leilani Kai, Luna Vachon, Rockin' Robin, Wendi Richter, Spider Lady, Debbie Combs and Jacqueline. So many possibilities await us as the Lady Legends tournament begins. Who will we see get a spot to fight for the coveted LCW Women's Championship? We'll find out this week on LCW Showdown. Let's also not forget that Luna Vachon turned on her own sister, Lock, and attacked her in the back to get her spot in the battle royal back. Luna clearly proved that she wouldn't let anyone, even her own sister, stand in the way of her winning the LCW Women's Championship. She also officially declared her independence from both Kevin Sullivan and One Man Gang by attacking both of them in a match between them in which she was serving as special guest referee. Will Vachon be able to use this momentum to take herself all the way to the LCW Women's Championship?

New Champs! New Champs!
At the LCW Night of Horrors pay-per-view, Outlaw Ron Bass and Cowboy Don Bass became the LCW World Tag Team Champions, when they took the belts from the Nasty Boys. Much to the delight of their manager Col Robert Parker and their mother Maw Bass. However, there were two people not so enamored with the Bass Brothers' victory: Cowboy Bob Orton and Dirty Dick Slater. They promised to come after the titles and we've been told that they mean business! What will they possibly have in mind heading into LCW Showdown?

Lady Legends Battle Royal:
When the LCW Board of Directors named Harley Race as the new LCW General Manager, they, along with the LCW audience, had absolutely no idea what to expect. Race, on only his second official night on the job, announced that he was bringing back the Lady Legends division to Legends Championship Wrestling. Immediately, that sparked intrigue within the ranks of LCW, as well as the fans, to see just who would be brought in with it. Here's how things will go down: 20 ladies will compete in a battle royal until we are down to the final eight. Those eight ladies will then compete in a single elimination tournament over four weeks on LCW Showdown. The four winners will face Madusa Micelli, the last LCW Women's Champion, in a four-way elimination match to determine who walks out as the new LCW Women's Champion. So who will it be? Could it be Lock, the sister of Luna Vachon? Could it be Peggy Lee Leather who's devastating Last Call finisher has put down many women in the past. Or perhaps it's the mysterious Spider Lady who we have yet to find out the identity of. Or perhaps, just perhaps, the eight we're left with won't be any of the aforementioned three. The only way to find out is to tune in to LCW Night of Horrors this Sunday.

Wildfire Tommy Rich (with Missy Hyatt) vs. Austin Idol:
The feud between Wildfire Tommy Rich and Austin Idol reaches a fever pitch this Sunday at the LCW Night of Horrors pay-per-view. At LCW Beach Brawl in July, Rich and his partner Tracey Smothers beat Idol and Hollywood John Tatum in a tag team match – but the celebration didn't last long – as Rich turned on Smothers post-match. Then, at LCW Caged Heat, after Rich had destroyed Smothers inside a steel cage, Rich continued attacking Smothers until Idol appeared and the two brawled inside the cage. This Sunday at LCW Night of Horrors, it will all end as the two meet for bragging rights inside the squared circle.
Prediction: Rich to take the match.

One Man Gang vs. Kevin Sullivan with Luna Vachon as special guest referee:
One Man Gang and Kevin Sullivan are waging a war – a war for Gang of love and a war for Sullivan of control, a war for both over Luna Vachon. This all began when Gang saved Vachon from a raging Sullivan and promised to be “her knight in shining armor”. Vachon is unsure of where her loyalties lie, as proved two weeks ago on LCW Showdown when she refused to help Sullivan who was trapped in a submission hold by LCW Heritage Champion Bret Hart. Who will come out on top – and with the girl – after LCW Night of Horrors?!
Prediction: Vachon's heart rules her head and she helps Gang to victory.

Tito Santana vs. Manny Fernandez:
When the Raging Bull” Manny Fernandez was revealed as the man who continuously attacked Tito Santana, it lit a fire under Santana, and at LCW Night of Horrors, he hopes to get his redemption. Fernandez, in recent weeks being called a bully, promised to put down Santana once and for all, while Santana vowed that he had taken down bullies before and will do it again. Can the Mexico native, with his flying forearm smash take down the Raging Bull who, when he locks in his Bulls Brand choke hold, can put almost anyone away? Or will the Bull once again come out on top over the former Matador?
Prediction: Santana has a tall task ahead of him, but if anyone can do it, it's Santana. Santana to win.

LCW World Tag Team Champions The Nasty Boys vs. Outlaw Ron Bass and Cowboy Don Bass (with Maw Bass):
The Bass Brothers get an opportunity at title belts that very few others ever get, when they take on LCW World Tag Team Champions The Nasty Boys at LCW Night of Horrors. Ron and Don Bass have been on a tag team roll the last few weeks, taking down such teams as the Fantastics in their quest for the tag team gold. But that's not to dismiss the champions, who have a reputation of being exactly what their name says: nasty. Only one team can survive at LCW Night of Horrors, and only one team will leave LCW World Tag Team Champions. However, one has to wonder whether the Bass Brothers will be distracted by Maw Bass' new love interest, Col. Robert Parker, and whether that will play a factor in this match.
Predictions: Thinking about more than just the match will spell demise for rhe Bass Brothers in this World Tag Team title match. Nasties to catch the Bass Brothers.

LCW Heritage Champion Bret Hart vs. Honky Tonk Man (with Jimmy Hart):
It's all about becoming the LCW Heritage Champion for the Honky Tonk Man, as he looks to take it from reigning champion Bret Hart. Hart won the title on the September 9th return edition of LCW Showdown, as a favor from LCW Christman of the Board Christian Calaway after Hart helped Calaway regain control of the company. Honky Tonk's impressive wins recently got him a shot at the belt. Can Honky Tonk – or even his manager Jimmy Hart – shake, rattle, and roll his way to the LCW Heritage Championship? Or will Bret Hart's extensive submission background carry him through another title defense?!?
Prediction: Jimmy Hart interferes giving Honky the title.

LCW United States Champion Diamond Dallas Page vs. Paul Orndorff:
Diamond Dallas Page has looked seemingly unstoppable the past few months, racking up the LCW United States Championship and the King of the Legends crown this year. However, Page faces his toughest test as he goes one on one with Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff this Sunday at LCW Night of Horrors. Orndorff isn't nicknamed Mr. Wonderful for no reason, at 6 foot 1, 253lbs, with his deadly spike piledriver finishing move, the former LCW Universal Champion may be the kryptonite that spells the end of the Diamond Cutter king.
Prediction: Mr. Wonderful puts a wonderful end to DDP's reign as champion.

LCW International Champion Dr. Death Steve Williams vs. Bill Goldberg:
By virtue of scoring the most eliminations the LCW Survival Project last month, Bill Goldberg gets a shot at LCW International Champion Dr. Death Steve Williams. Although, many believe that Goldberg may not be fully focused on Williams, after having lost the possibility of defending the LCW Universal Championship on behalf of Stone Cold Steve Austin, and an opportunity at the belt if he won. However, Goldberg's opponent – Dr. Death Steve Williams – is more than focused on the Human Wrecking Ball. These two may be pretty evenly matched, but concentration-wise, Williams may just have Goldberg's number. It's all down to the LCW International title match, this Sunday night.
Prediction: Dr. Death retains his title.

LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA vs. Sid Vicious:
Sid Vicious didn't get the name Vicious because it sounds cool. He is truly one of most dangerous men in the world. Vicious won the LCW Survival Project last month, and as a result of that, he earned himself an opportunity at the LCW Universal Championship. Vicious, however, wanting to destroy reigning champion Stone Cold Steve Austin, took it one step too far when he powerbombed Austin on the steel entrance stage before a match on LCW Showdown. That forced LCW General Manager Harley Race's hand. After speaking with his doctors, Race decided to declar Austin unfit to compete, and he was going to determine a stand-in for the Texas Rattlesnake. Magnum TA faced Bill Goldberg in the main event of LCW Showdown two weeks ago to determine exactly who would defend the title on Austin's behalf, and should that person be successful doing so, they get a title shot next month at LCW Redemption Day. Magnum caught Goldberg, and the former longest-reigning LCW Universal Champion will indeed defend the title on Austin's behalf. Can Magnum win the day against the destroyer Vicious, or will this be the day that Vicious ruled the LCW landscape? And will we see a live appearance by Austin, as promised on LCW Showdown this past week?!
Prediction: Magnum does what he did for a year, and retains the LCW Universal Title, setting up a dream match at LCW Redemption Day.

LCW Showdown Television Preview (October 7, 2009): Eight Man Mayhem!

Last week, former LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA earned the right to defend the title he held for almost a year on behalf of reigning champion Stone Cold Steve Austin at LCW Night of Horrors. However, he must make it past an eight-man tag team match this week.

Eight Man Mayhem:
As announced at the close of LCW Showdown last week, there will be a gargantuan eight-man tag team match this week as Magnum TA, LCW International Champion Dr. Death Steve Williams, LCW Heritage Champion Bret Hart and Paul Orndorff team to face Sid Vicious, Bill Goldberg, the Honky Tonk Man and LCW United States Champion Diamond Dallas Page. Sid Vicious looks to weaken Magnum four days before their title clash at LCW Night of Horrors. Bill Goldberg looks to redeem his loss last week, and possibly take out Steve Williams before the pay-per-view. For Bret Hart, it’s about shutting Honky Tonk Man’s mouth once and for all, and Diamond Dallas Page looks to come out unscathed ahead of his title defense. Only fays before the epic pay-per-view, which team can come out victorious?!

Parker and Bass Unite:
In a shocking turn of events last week, during an argument of all things, Col. Robert Parker and Maw Bass embraced and kissed in the middle of the ring on LCW Showdown. Bass has previously turned down Parker’s offer of the two courting in favor of focusing her attentions on her boys, the Bass Brothers. After the kiss, or after everyone in the ring separated the kiss and finally stopped fighting, Col. Parker had a special proposition: “Don’t you see what this could be? Look around. Look around the ring. This is perhaps the most dominant assemblage of men in the history of this company. Can you imagine what we could do if we banded together?”

However, Parker’s plea, seconded by Bass, fell on deaf ears. All hell broke loose and security was soon called. What will happen this week, as it appears that Parker and Bass are now an item? And what will this mean for their respective teams: the Bass Brothers and Bob Orton and Dirty Dick Slater -- sworn enemies?! With Orton and Slater already feeling slighted by Parker's latest acquisition, Stan Hansen, how will they feel if Parker and Bass actually manage to unite their forces.

They’re not "Divas", and they don’t call themselves "Knockouts,", but they are the most elite group of women wrestlers on the face of the earth: the LCW Lady Legends. Lock looks, as of this moment, like the odds on favorite to win the LCW Women’s Championship. But can anyone kill her momentum this week? And just who is Spider Lady?!

Because of the brutal assault on the champion the previous week at the hands of Sid Vicious, Race told the LCW fans that Austin would not be able to compete at the LCW Night of Horrors pay-per-view on October 11. However, instead of stripping Austin of the strap, Race decided to spice things up; Vicious would still receive his title shot, and Austin would keep his title, but someone would defend the title on his behalf. This leads us to this weeks main event: Goldberg vs. Magnum TA, with the winner moving on to defend the LCW Universal Championship at the pay-per-view.

With Goldberg having split attention – also focused on his about with LCW International Champion Dr. Death Steve Williams – will Magnum be able to defeat the man who, many believe, cost him the LCW Universal Title to begin with? Or will the Human Wrecking Ball once again prove his dominance in LCW?

Doll House Chaos:
Last week, during an edition of Baby Doll's interview segment, “The Doll House”, with Manny Fernandez as her guest, Doll spoke to Fernandez about his match with Tito Santana. “But just like a cowardly matador running from a bull, he keeps running the other way,” spat Fernandez, who was speaking of his opponent. However, Santana was keen to prove The Raging Bull was a raging liar, and interrupted the segment and attacked Fernandez. The rivalry between these two, heated in temper, can only get worse as we head to LCW Night of Horrors on Sunday, October 11. But what will they do next?

Vicious Vixens:
Thanks to LCW General Manager Harley Race listening to the LCW fans pleas, the LCW Women's Championship has been re-instated and a twenty woman battle royal will take place at LCW Night of Horrors. However, last week, we got our first taste of what the renewed division will bring, when Lock took out Velvet McIntyre, on behalf of Luna Vachon who won't be competing in the tournament due to other commitments involving Kevin Sullivan, and his match with One Man Gang. What will this week on LCW Showdown bring with it, as the Lady Legends continue to show that they've still got it?

A “Nasty” Wake-Up Call?:
Last week, LCW World Tag Team Champions The Nasty Boys got a snapshot of reality, as they came to realize just how much jeopardy their belts are in. With the Young Stallions – fresh off a reformation, Black Bart and Dutch Mantel – new to the LCW tag team scene, and the ever brutal Bass Brothers who will do whatever it takes to please their mother and manager, Maw Bass, who will be the Nasties number-one contenders? Will we find out this week?

Talking Business:
After Stan Hansen made short work of Marty Jannetty in singles competition last week, Col. Robert Parker made an appearance, apparently wanting to speak with Hansen. What does Parker have in mind, and how will it affect Hansen's career? Will we find out this week on LCW Showdown?

[Feature Story] Bill Goldberg's Golden Opportunity

Championship matches of any description come few and far in-between. For Bill Goldberg, he's in for a chance at getting two.

At the LCW Survival Project pay-per-view three weeks ago, Bill Goldberg eliminated eleven men which, since he didn't win the entire gauntlet tournament, put him in position as the number one contender for the LCW International Championship. Goldberg set his sights firmly on taking the gold from LCW International Champion Dr. Death Steve Williams, until fate threw him a second, much bigger opportunity!

This past week on LCW Showdown, LCW General Manager Harley Race was fuming about Sid Vicious' actions the previous week, where he attacked and intentionally powerbombed LCW Universal Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin on the steel entrance stage; despite being under strict instructions not to involve himself in the night's events.

Race was so angered by the attack and Vicious' blatant disregard for Race's orders that he thought about pulling Sid Vicious' number one contendership for the LCW Universal Championship (that Vicious had earned by winning the Survival Project) from him, but then he had a revelation.

During a sit-down interview with Austin live via satellite from his home in Victoria, Texas, Race reminded Austin that he wouldn't be medically cleared to compete at the LCW Night of Horrors pay-per-view, and that by the time Austin was cleared, the 30-day defense rule on the title would have expired. Race suggested that Austin be replaced by someone else, defending the title on his behalf, and should that person defeat Vicious at Night of Horrors, they would be entitled to an opportunity at the gold – against Austin – the following month at the LCW Redemption Day pay-per-view in November.

However, should Vicious beat the replacement, Austin loses the title but automatically becomes the number one contender and gets a chance to regain the title at Redemption Day.

Race then announced the participants for the match to determine Austin's replacement, which will take place next week on LCW Showdown: Magnum TA vs. Bill Goldberg. Many top company officials are unsure of Race's decision, as it's one in a long line of decisions he's made since his return all of a week ago! Since then, he's brought back the Women's Division (also known as the Lady Legends) and got himself in a yelling match with Sid Vicious.

One official anonymously commented: “The way many see it, if Race hadn't booked Austin to defend the championship, Vicious may not have had the platform on which to attack Austin. If anyone should be punished, it's not Vicious, it's Race for booking a title match so close to the pay-per-view. It's a safety issue for Austin. While he may think he is and would want to be a fighting champion, he was going into a match with an unstable individual and made himself a target by defending the title so closely to Night of Horrors.” LCW Founder Christian Calaway has rebutted the claim saying, “Race is doing just fine.”

Can Bill Goldberg get the opportunity of a lifetime, to become both LCW International and LCW Universal Champion in one night? Or will Magnum TA get the chance to walk out of an LCW pay-per-view with the title he held for so long around his waist? LCW Showdown Television Official Preview: Stone Cold's Night of Horror?

As Legends Championship Wrestling draws closer to the LCW Night of Horrors 2009 pay-per-view, it's all eyes on the top prize, well, for Sid Vicious anyway, as he looks to take the gold from LCW Universal Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin. But what shape will Austin be in? Is there a chance that Austin will have to vacate the title due to injury?

A Vicious Assault:
Last week on LCW Showdown, as Stone Cold Steve Austin was preparing to defend his LCW Universal Championship against the Raging Bull Manny Fernandez, he was attacked from behind by number-one contender Sid Vicious, in an assault that landed Austin to a hospital bed. It was announced on LCW's official Twitter account that Austin was resting comfortably at home, but eyebrows are still raised as to whether Austin will make it to LCW Night of Horrors on Sunday, October 11th. Will Austin be at LCW Showdown this week? Will Sid Vicious be reprimanded for his actions? Tune in to find out.

(Dr.) Death Warmed Up:
After losing to Sid Vicious, LCW International Champion Dr. Death Steve Williams' night went from bad to worse when his own number-one contender, Bill Goldberg, floored him with a devastating and rib cracking spear. Goldberg has proved his dominance in LCW, making 11 eliminations in the LCW Survival Project, but now, he has his sights locked on to the man many consider the most dominant monster LCW has ever seen. What will happen this week? Will Williams have a response for the Human Wrecking Ball?

Leaving A Bull's Brand Mark:
Last week, when his match with Big Van Vader ended in a double disqualification, Tito Santana found himself on the receiving end of a vicious assault by the Raging Bull Manny Fernandez. However, some see it as unfair that Santana was not allowed to interfere in Fernandez's championship opportunity, with the risk of suspension, yet Fernandez got away with attacking Santana? Last week, it was confirmed that Wildfire Tommy Rich would go one-on-one against Tracey Smothers this week on LCW Showdown. Rich's victory over Smothers in a steel cage at the LCW Caged Heat pay-per-view last month obviously wasn't enough to settle this score, and they will do battle once again this coming week.
